Our gite was constructed in 2007. Architect designed, it sleeps 4 people and has been built and furnished in a classical style to capture the relaxed warmth of the Midi-Pyrnees region.

The Gite Living Area is open-planned with kitchen, dining and sitting areas. With its high ceiling, roof beams and spiral staircase, the living area has a very spacious feel to it.

In the summer the French windows add to the spaciousness with views onto the garden and, in the winter, the wood burning stove gives a warm and cozy feeling to the gite. The gite is well insulated and remains cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

The gite is located in our garden, at a good distance from our house so as to allow privacy. Next to the gite is a small orchard and renters are welcome to pick cherries, plums and apricots when they are in season.

The gite has two terraces - the front terrace has views onto the garden while the shaded back terrace has views over farmland, with woodland in the background.

We also went to many nearby attractions including Toulouse (45 mins), the hilltop town of Cordes-Sur-Ciel (1 hour), and also spent a day seeing the Pyrenees around the town of Foix (1.5 hours). There are lots of wineries that offer tastings and sales as well as picturesque towns to explore within a half hour drive of the cottage. Rosette and Anton are wonderful hosts and offered many suggestions for activities. We would love to go back and stay at the Gite again on our next visit!"

Long weekend? Toulouse/Blagnac airport is about 70 kms - 1 hour 15mins away!

Ideal for 2 to 4 people, our recently restored, tastefully decorated, 2 bedroomed vacation cottage and swimming pool is situated in a small hamlet in the depths of the French countryside about 10 minutes drive from the pretty town of St.Antonin-Noble-Val - 82140 and the beautiful little village of Penne du Tarn - 81140. Cordes-sur-Ciel is about 20 minutes drive.

INSIDE THE COTTAGE:

Downstairs is an open plan kitchen, dining area and living room, light and airy with the three French windows giving access to the swimming pool, the front courtyard and the ‘inside/outside’ room. The whole house is very well insulated and for those cooler days in spring and autumn, there is a cosy wood burning stove downstairs that keeps the whole house beautifully warm!

Upstairs are two bedrooms and one bathroom. Bedroom 1 has 2 single beds (which could be pushed together for an extra large double). Bedroom 2 has a large double bed and French windows that open onto the large upstairs balcony which overlooks the garden and swimming pool areas (great for star gazing at night). I decided on a white and black décor for the bedrooms - light, modern and fun to sleep in!

OUTSIDE AREAS:

The pool, the sun deck, the outdoor 'rooms' - for swimming, relaxing , reading, barbecue, eating, playing - or whatever - YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY!

The swimming pool is 4m x 8m with wide shallow Roman steps which are ideal for young children and less sporty types who feel toe dipping is enough and sun worshipping on one of the chic black loungers is more to their liking. Yes, the sun deck is expansive and the parasols are on wheels, so you can move around and follow the sun or find some shade.

Between the house and the pool is the rear terrace with dining table, chairs and barbecue for al fresco eating and comfortable outdoor chairs for reading and relaxing.

On the other side of the cottage is the walled front courtyard. A very pleasant area to sit and relax.

From the courtyard you can go though the big wooden red doors and explore the HAMLET of FABRE DE LAGRANGE. Go and say bonjour to the chickens across the path, walk to the end of the hamlet and perhaps take a walk along the marked pathway which can take you to the village of PENNE if you feel up to it, otherwise just take a stroll to take in the magnificent views over the Forest of the Gresigne and the Château de Penne.

The cottage is situated at the far end of our large main house, so is semi-detached with your own private entrance. Martin and I live at the other end and are happy to help with any additional information about the cottage and things to do and places to visit when out and about in this area of South West France. Most of the time, we will be in our little studio at the end of the garden where we make deluxe photo frames that we sell all over the world via our Etsy internet shop. You are very welcome to take the short walk up the garden and come and visit us in our framing studio - you might find some frames to take home!

Old 17th century farmhouse (stable in the ground floor with the living rooms above), which later became an agricultural hangar and now transformed into a gîte to welcome you, in the countryside, in a quiet area, outside Valdériès, a small Tarn village with its local shops (bakery, grocery store, butcher-caterer) in the village center. We can accommodate in this 42m² gîte 2 people and 1 child up to 4 years old. All on the ground floor, the kitchen is well equipped: oven, microwave, coffee maker, fridge freezer, washing machine, iron, living room with color TV, 2-seater sofa. Also in open space you have a toilet area with sink and a walk-in shower. The toilets are separate and closed as well as the cellar.

Set in the grounds of a larger house, our charming gite offers the chance for relaxation across two private terraces and by a splendid swimming pool. The village of Cordes sur Ciel is right on your doorstep and is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful in the whole of France. Dating back to the twelfth century the medieval citadel is beautifully preserved and offers an extraordinary trip back in time. The village has a weekly market and all the shops you need to create beautiful food in your well equipped kitchen. There are bars, restaurants and cafes and a host of outstanding artists studios, ceramists and workshops creating a wonderfully bohemian atmosphere. If you are lucky you will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the many festivals in Cordes and the surrounding villages which run from April to October.

Cordes is an ideal base from which to discover the glories of the Tarn a sublime corner of rural South West France which is often compared to Tuscany. We prefer to think of Tuscany as the Tarn of Italy!
Albi our nearest small city is listed as a Unesco world heritage site and is a must on any itinerary as are the numerous "Bastide" fortified villages that dot the landscape and the little know but exceptional Gaillac wine lands. If you love the outdoors you will love it here and can take your pick from walking, cycling, mountain biking,wild swimming, horse riding, canoeing, paragliding and hot air ballooning - we would be delighted to help you organise all of these activities.
Our Gite has been upgraded recently and will sleep a family of four in comfort and five if someone is happy to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. We provide free parking. We dont have many rules, asking only that you treat the property as you would like your home to be treated and that you enjoy at least one bottle of Rose with your hosts!
