This lovely, well-proportioned, two bedroomed, renovated gate-house is tucked into the trees in the grounds of a beautiful ‘belle-épôque’ villa on the Côte de Grâce.

The grounds are secluded, and there are swings amongst the trees. You can take long walks on quiet country lanes. You are minutes from the lively centre of Honfleur which you can reach by 10 minutes on foot downhill but takes slightly longer to walk uphill.

There are two food markets a week in Honfleur, and you can prepare fresh food in the well-appointed kitchen. However, there are 140 cafés, bistros, and restaurants in the town - you might revise the self-catering plans. The museums are well worth a visit and the beautifully landscaped park adjoining the Seine estuary has many amenities including many for children.

The house is located away from nearby small roads, after a tarred road without end, and entent no traffic noise, allowing to enjoy the sounds of nature. It is likely that you will be woken in the morning by the sound of birds. The major advantage of our cottage is the quality of the immediate environment, with a view of a valley planted with apple trees.

The cottage was built in a typical old press Normand, built in timbered and flint. It features a large room to the ground floor with an open kitchen to the living room and a cathedral ceiling. A large fireplace allows for wood fires for fun in all seasons. A ground floor still, a bedroom with a queen bed, and a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet suspended. The living room is south-facing and opens up onto a sunny terrace all day and overlooking a small orchard and meadows.
Upstairs, a large bedroom (20 m2) has a double bed and a single bed and also a private bathroom with toilet, the same as the bottom. In total, the cottage can easily accommodate 5 people in two bedrooms. The house was very suitable for us being two couples as it had two double bedrooms-one upstairs with en suite bathroom and one downstairs with a separate bathroom. As the evenings were becoming cooler we had ample wood and lit an open fire. The property is a mass of beams, stone floors, exposed brickwork with a private garden. It has everything you need for a very pleasant stay in the heart of the Normandy countryside. It was hard to find though being situated on a no through road between Gites de Canet and a White House with white fencing if that helps future visitors."

A ground floor always, a room of 18m2 making 4th extra bedroom with a click / clack, day and overlooks a small orchard and meadows.
Upstairs, a large bedroom (about 20 m2) has a double bed and a small bed, and also a private bathroom with toilet. In total, the cottage can easily accommodate 7 people in three bedrooms, and 9 people with the sofa of the living room. A deposit of 300 euros may be required, it will be returned after your departure with deduction in case of damage caused during your stay ...

- "We booked in July looking for a property near the centre of Honfleur with free parking nearby. I would happily have paid the full amount up front but there seemed to be no way to do so and we were advised that the full payment had to be made by 4 August. On the morning of 4 August I had still not heard from anyone and had to contact the host directly to find out how to. It is very difficult to stop immediately outside the property so I rapidly left my wife outside with all our luggage and headed to the 'free parking 150 metres away' only to find it required hefty payment. Eventually we did find a free car park nearly a kilometer away which we used for the rest of the week. It is disappointing that we were not informed that the nearby car park was no longer free and had not been for several months as it was prominently mentioned in the advertising. The property itself was ideally located and Honfleur delightful. The bedroom and bathroom beautifully presented, the downstairs lounge a bit shabby and could easily be improved, the kitchen pretty good (no microwave) but a little short on equipment. La Petite Chaumière is ideally located 3 km from Honfleur, close to all that is famous for this region of Normandy. Honfleur and its old port, Deauville, Trouville and its beaches, the surrounding countryside, gastronomy etc. The house is located in the heart of a property of 4 hectares, largely composed of a hilly meadow occupied by our two horses. Kids usually love to meet them with some apples or carrots to make friends. The house is located away from the small roads nearby, at the end of a tarmac road without exit, and there is no traffic noise, which allows you to enjoy the sounds of nature. It is likely that you will be awakened in the morning by the birds singing. The main advantage of our cottage is the quality of the immediate environment, with the view of an orchard and a meadow or it is not uncommon to see some deer early morning or evening at sunset .

They are suitable for stays of 5 to 8 people.
