This village house is of traditional stone, with 50 cm (20 inch) thick walls and built mid-20th century. It is located near the Bodrum village of Yalikavak and less than 20 minutes to Bodrum city. Standing high and above the other houses in the village allows views of the mountains, the sea, plus the harbour and marina of Yalikavak. The sunset is unobstructed and superb. The location on the North side of the Peninsula affords cool breezes. The house has an extensive veranda/patio where one can relax or have a slow meal while taking in the views. Entering the house, to the left, is the Living Room with an 'L' shaped, 2 pieces, wide sofa. It is possible for extra guests to sleep here. The kitchenette adjoins. To the right, is the master bedroom. From the master bedroom, you enter a small dressing room that leads to the bathroom. We have accommodated more than 2 persons, at this house, many times. Original artwork and antiques throughout. This is a house to use as a base for exploring the area around Bodrum or for simply relaxing. The property is located high above the village of Gokcobel, now called Dirmil. The house is a 40-minute drive to the airport and the village of Yalikavak is 3 km away. Major supermarkets (6) are within a few hundred meters of the house. There is a private road to the property with a private entrance to the house. This is a stand-alone property and not part of any apartment-type complex.

The small pool has been cut out of natural rock. It is not for swimming but perfect to simply cool off during the day or watch the sunset. It is shallow on one side and deeper on the other, facing West, where the sun sets. There are 2 adjustable deck chairs and an umbrella. The pool is hidden from view from neighbors as they are all below this house.

SMALL CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES

From the house it is possible to walk downhill, 100-150 meters, to the village just below where there is a small grocery store, community tea shop and on Mondays a wonderful Farmers Market. A very large Migros Supermarket is also there and next to the supermarket is a great place to try authentic village food. A great kebab place opened near the Farmers Market. There are also 3-4 wonderful Turkish breakfast places located in home gardens. These places are a real treat and should not be missed.
Near Migros is a large bakery for great bread right out of the oven and next to this a good pide-pizza restaurant. Both the bakery and the Pide place use wood ovens.

Old Town Cottage is a little old Greek house, has been fully and tastefully refurbished to the highest standard with an eclectic mix of British and Turkish fixtures and fittings with comfort and romance in mind. It sports an enviable view of the nearby bay and harbour and is central to all things Kalkan but in a quiet cobbled street with mostly local neighbours. There is a sun deck on the roof top and a brand new kitchen on the ground floor. It is perfect for couples but if one wishes to entertain local friends there is seating at a table for four persons on the roof with a rather fine bespoke barbecue and there is plenty of crockery, glasses etc.

There was no pressure but he made things so simple that it made sense to do everything through him. The place was in the most beautiful setting, surrounded by birds and wildlife. We would not change a thing. It was so quiet and private but only a quick drive from the centre of Dalyan for when we needed anything. The local restaurant owned by the same family was also fantastic and only a short walk away. The staff were so friendly and treated us like family, letting us use their whole garden and happily let us use the canoes to go up and down the quiet part of the river right outside. It was just perfect and we wouldnt change a thing. Thank you so much."

The house was belonged to one of the Sacristan families of Foca Orthodoks Church in 1890s.
When the family left Foca due to people exchange on 1920's, one of the Muslim Cleric (from Lemnos Island) started to live here. Until early 1980's many families lived here.
Owners (Sukran & Omer) are still searching for the family members of this family in the world for to respect them and host them as guests in the house. They visited many cities of Greece to find them. Still they are hoping :))

The house has 2 bedrooms (One for Parent, one for Children & other guest), WC & shower on 1st flor, Living Room (has 1 sofabed), Kitchen and a small laundry room on the garden floor.

The garden is shared between the owner and the guest. Coffee and dining cornera are separated for the guests.

The owners (Omer & Sukran) lives in the other stone house on the big shared garden.

IASSUS COTTAGE

Iassus is located on the same 5000 sq.mt. piece of land where there are 3 additional rental suites, Amfihouse, Labranda, and Herakleia, plus the owner's residence.

This house is perfect for a couple (and up to 2 children), or joined with Herakleia and Labranda, presents an opportunity for a large family reunion. It is the second largest of the 4 suites.

We remain a very friendly private home.
We are not a party place and we believe in a smoke-free environment.
We have a very friendly pet dog.

Iassus does not have a pool but the peninsula is covered with beaches both private and public and in a few minutes you can be swimming in the Aegean Sea.

A car is highly recommended, as we are in the hills. We can arrange economical car hire with airport pick up and drop off. Taxi service to the property is available.

This cottage was built years ago by master stone builders. 50 cm thick walls. This 2 room cottage has a large natural pine wood and glass room that lets in good natural light for dining or just reading a book. The view from this room is North and West, which is the direction of the surrounding countryside, the Aegean, and the Greek Islands. On a clear day, you can see Samos Island in Greece. Immediately below the cottage is a large field of lavender. The intimate outside dining area hosts a dining table and a small rose garden.
The Iassus residence is quite private. One enters the residence via an antique, Bodrum, pine carved door, from the extensive stone patio surrounding the house. Through this door, one enters the pinewood/glass room. This room is made from recycled, accordion-style, pinewood doors mounted with clear glass in the upper half of each door. Great light in this room.

At the south end of this all-weather room and up 2 stone steps, one enters the second room.
To the left of the entry door are the pinewood and tiled kitchen. All necessary tableware and cooking accessories. Fridge, toaster, grill, 2 burner electrical stove, electrical oven, coffee maker, etc.

To the right of the entry door is the lounging couch then a double bed.

AREA DESCRIPTION

The entire property is awesome and when you first arrive, it may take your breath away. The views are unparalleled and from the property, you can see from Yalikavak Marina to the west, then, 45 km away north is Samos Island in Greece and Gundogan village to the east. While we have 3 suites available, we are definitely not a hotel.

The location is marked by twenty, 75-year-old Italian cypress trees, in which the birds sing and rare squirrels have their early morning breakfast.
Days are balmy, generally breezy, and could be as much as 5 degrees C. cooler than Yalikavak and definitely Bodrum City.
Evenings are perfect for outside dining and the sunsets are always different and magnificent.
Take your book, a drink and sit under one of the many shade areas and enjoy life.
When you wish, we will guide you to good places to swim in the sea, shop or eat.

The view from the property is northwest, looking over volcanic rock shapes and catacombs in the valley. The new luxurious Yalikavak Marina to the west is in view. There is 180 degree, unobstructed, views out to the Greek islands. There are several walking trails in the area. The village of Yalikavak offers shops and a large selection of restaurants along the water's edge. There is a good selection of shops, cafes, and restaurants at the international marina. Sailboats and windsurfers can be rented. A 5-15 minute ride takes you to neighboring villages and 20-25 minutes to the lively town of Bodrum. Ephesus is about a two-hour drive and the ancient Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and Castle of St. Peter are both in Bodrum City. Blue Cruise trips can also be organized. In season, ferries leave daily for many Greek Islands for day trips or longer. Kos Island in Greece is only 20 minutes away.

We have extensive knowledge of the local area, as well as Turkey-wide, for sightseeing, gourmet dining, etc.

The residence is also ideal for Fall, Winter, and Spring visits. In those seasons, heating is included in the pricing and warm bedding duvets provide exceptional comfort. Most restaurants have fireplaces and without crowds of tourists, the cuisine is at its best. Scores of historical sites are yours for the day. Worldwide flights are then at their lowest and Bodrum is just a 55-minute flight from exciting Istanbul. Many international airlines now have scheduled flights direct to Bodrum.
We think Bodrum, in and out of season, is truly the best-kept secret in the Aegean region.

There is no air conditioning in the property but it is always cool due to the river breezes.

- "Our stay was great. We really enjoyed the peace we had there. We arrived there at night and were contacted and personally directed to our cottage by the owner. He welcomed us politely and informed us about the accommodation and surroundings. He gave us tips for places to look for and these places sure are wonderful! The cottage was nice and clean. It was not really updated, but all the tools and extras from the surroundings make it flawlessly. The owner has a nice restaurant down the road where you can really enjoy some nice food. The accommodation has a nice balcony and a small swimming pool. Such that you are able to enjoy that place peacefully by day as well as by night. By day there are turtles, fishes and ducks that visit you and by night you have the stars and breeze accompanying your relaxation moments next to the river. The turtle beach is a must to visit along with the rivers where you can eat on nice sofas with some good Turkish tea. The road to Kaunos by car is a real recommendation. It’s a long trip, but the view is outstanding from both the lake as the sea. We are really looking forward to return to this place soon."

The Fig Garden Cottages share a large garden and pool and comprises of two traditional stone cottages, Fig Cottage sleeps 6 and Quince cottage sleeps 4. Ideal for friends or extended family. They can be booked separately or together as they both have private areas.

The open plan living/dining room has a well equipped kitchen with all you need to prepare fresh Mediterranean dishes, a real home from home. A wood burner adds character and a cosy way to heat the property out of season. All rooms have AC if needed for the summer months. This cute cottage is in the middle of a small traditional Turkish village. The age of the cottage is around 400 years and a recent renovation was carried out, carefully retaining many of the original features and also improving and modernizing the cottage to Western expectations but keeping everything neat and simple. There is a kitchen/dining area and a TV/sitting room and downstairs toilet/shower room. Outside is private pool and BBQ area with table and chairs on the patio.

This is a good way to sample a real Turkish dwelling although modernized to suit Western tastes, but set among other small traditional Turkish homes in Kaya Valley, quite well known for its deserted Greek village featured in Louis de Bernierre's book, Birds Without Wings. This small but adorable cottage is in a very tranquil valley but also close to the bustling towns and holiday resorts of Olu Deniz, Hisaronu and of course the big market town of Fethiye. All are a short drive away, as are the more famous archaeological sites from the Byzantine, Lycian and Roman times. A fascinating place to explore.

Leylekli Ev (which means Stork House in Turkish) is an original cottage set in a small village surrounded by olive and fig trees. The cottage has been recently refurbished to merge the comfort of the modern life with the mesmerising beauty of unspoilt nature.

The village offers an ideal location for those who would like a rural retreat away from the tourist crowd whilst still staying close enough to the historic towns and beaches. The closest town in 3km distance offers adequate shopping opportunities and the lively touristic attractions of the region – Kusadasi, Ephesus, Sirince – are only a 20 minutes’ drive away.

The Fig Garden Cottages share a large garden and pool and comprises of two traditional stone cottages, Fig Cottage sleeps 6 and Quince cottage sleeps 4. Ideal for friends or extended family. They can be booked separately or together as they both have private areas.

The open plan living/dining room has a well equipped kitchen with all you need to prepare fresh Mediterranean dishes, a real home from home. A wood burner adds character and a cosy way to heat the property out of season. All rooms have AC if needed for the summer months. Outdoors is a terrace for dining and a seating area which looks across to the pool and to the historic ruins.

Both cottage have a rustic feel with thick stone walls and high wooden ceilings. Welcome to Melihaus! This property contains two naturally decorated stone houses with a unique architecture. There are 5 separate houses designed for multifamily vacations, which can accomodate 11+5 guests. The doors of our Melihaus stone houses open to a large garden with a lush nature and meticulous landscape. A nice holiday awaits you where you will get a quality sleep in the silence of nature with the chirps of birds and sip your coffee either by the pool or on the balcony of your home.

The space
This property consists of 2 stone houses, each with 2 floors. Each floor is designed as a separate home with a detached entrance. This property is designed to accommodate multi-family groups that provide privacy for family/couple/per group. The resort has 3 normal houses and 2 studio apartments. There is also a large garden, pool and patio which you can use for group yoga/sports activities, dinners or just to cool off in the shade.


We know the architecture is a bit complicated, so we gave each home a name and they used names on photo tags to make it easier for you.

All 3 normal houses have a fully equipped kitchen and two fully equipped bathrooms with shower.
The 2-story house also features kitchen utensils for coffee and tea and a fully equipped bathroom.
We provide you with fresh towels, hairdryer, shampoo.
