We booked this a little impulsively due to a last minute booking mistake but I would honestly stay here again if I had the chance. They make it feel like a mini home with so much information telling you about the weather, things to do in the area, where to eat, etc. The common rooms and kitchens are so nice and stocked if you needed something. There were two toilet rooms, one shower room, and a kitchen with a fridge and microwave in the Annex house for all the rooms to share. The house was always clean. The AC in my room worked very well. The breakfast is great and the staff are all so kind, helpful, and welcoming. The owner is especially very kind. Location is also perfect, you're just a one-two minute walk from Higashiyama subway station and a 12-15 minute walk from Sanjo Keihan station. Walking distance to many sights in Higashiyama. I greatly enjoyed spending evenings on the banks of the Kamogawa River or shopping downtown and then just walking back over the bridge from the city center to the guest house. Can't recommend this place enough. When I return to Kyoto one day I'll definitely stay again. Thank you!!!"

Very cute and well designed. Most of the other guests were incredibly respectful and friendly, the host was phenomenal. Highly recommend KyoCafe down the road and the grilled meats/seafood stand past the bridge on the main tourist street (hard to miss but didn’t catch a name). Also, highly recommend an early start for the bamboo groves, parks and temples if you prefer less crowded times. We did have one night of noisy neighbors but that’s bound to happen from time to time. No other complaints though, very worth it. "

It is a 110-year-old wooden building. We have preserved as much as possible the traces of 100 years ago, such as walls, windows, and fixtures. Please note that this makes it easy to hear the surrounding sounds.
Please be quiet from 10 pm to 7 am.
