Four min walking to bus stop, five to nearest coffee shop and bistro with delicious local sandwiches, pastries and gelato. Prices for local food are very reasonable, €1.70 for a coffee, €1.00 for a cup of tea, €7.00 for delicious paninni. Six min walk to famous boardwalk where locals and tourist walk also at night after late dinner, this is Calabria tradition. You will feel safe here. "

The first room we had was a junior suite(401). It was nice and spacious but there was this funny smell when you enter the room. So we switched to the next room which had a seaview(superior suite 423) and it was so cute! Love the curtains and I specially like that there are blackout curtains. So if you want to have a sleep in it’s perfect! The air conditioning is not that great. Can only go down up to 22.5 and cannot do anything about it. The safe in room 401 was tiny but the 423 safe was big enough to fit my laptop. It is not soundproofed rooms. I can still hear the people outside my room. The breakfast was good. A lot of choices. But it would have been nice if there are hot food included in the buffet like scrambled eggs(need to pay extra), sausages etc. But still it was a good spread. All in all the had a great time staying in this hotel. Definitely recommend toom 401 if you want a spectacular view of the sea and Athena! Thank you Grand Hotel Excelsior for a wonderful experience. Hope the next time I come back the air conditioning will be able to go down to 16 degrees😄"

Considering August is a school holiday for most of the countries the hotel seemed quiet and relaxed as there were not that many people around. Kids absolutely loved pool area, it was actually lovely area to relax after sight seeing all day in the heat. Lovely and friendly staff. The only negative for us was 15th of August evening as the bar was closed due to dinner service so you couldn’t get a cold refreshment for kids at all, surely they could have been one person to attend the bar when needed as there were not that many guests staying, the bar didn’t reopen until after 11pm. Over all very nice stay and great location "

They speak English German Italian. They will accommodate you with whatever you need. The location is perfect getting to all of the surrounding areas the restaurant included with the hotel is wonderful great food everything is homemade and grown fresh and local. We cannot say enough about this hotel, and I will definitely be visiting again I highly recommend the boat cruise that they will offer you and we actually ate dinner in the hotel every night fresh local food.
