We also had a nice view. And it was very nice to hear the 5pm chime again. We forgot what that was about. The hotel staff explained that it is played to remind people to go home. How nice. And I read that it is also a way to test the town's disaster warning system. As for the buffet breakfast, it has a Bed & Breakfast feel to it. So has the dining area. There is no reception and duty staff at hotel, however, we used to stay in this kind of hotel when travel in Japan. The cost for using laundry machine is reasonable, the kitchen facilities are simple but sufficed, we can make our Hida Beef dinner in house. Two supermarkets which are around 10 minutes walk from hotel, we bought the bread, milk, egg, vegetable, beef and raw fish with reasonable price. Hotel location is nice, most of the interesting places in Takayama are within the walking distance, the famous Buddhist temple with triple towers is just opposite to the hotel. We did not use the parking lot, as noted from email, the use of parking lot will need to pay a small amount of money, the guest just leave the money in the coin box on the table in the room. In brief, we enjoy our stay in this hotel, and will recommend this hotel to our friends if they plan to visit Takayama."

The Okuhida area, which is located in Gifu Prefecture, is in the winter season, and snow may fall from November to April.
Due to this situation, we strongly recommend wearing studless tires when you come by car.

Please understand that we will not exceptionally waive the cancellation fee if you did not arrive or check in due to not arranging a car with snow tires.
