- "This was a great home-base for our short stay in Utrecht. It’s close to the train station (pro tip: you can cut through the mall instead of walking all the way around the block!), and we had the most amazing meal ever at SMAAK, which is conveniently situated in the alleyway directly behind the hotel. There’s a Starbucks right next door and a grocery store nearby, and it’s within walking distance of the canal district with all its shops and restaurants, and there’s a bike rental shop close by as well. The room itself was clean and they had washcloths in the bathroom (the only hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to the Netherlands who offered them), and the front desk was happy to hold our luggage for us on our arrival and departure days when we had some additional exploring to do. In addition, the breakfast was top-notch. Would definitely stay here again."

Luckily, I saw the Park Plaza and was able to book a room immediately. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, the mall, and a short walk to the historic town center. It was easy to navigate and there were always people around. (I will say this section is VERY busy during rush hour...look both ways before crossing the street!) The staff was friendly and helpful and I was able to check in minutes after booking the reservation. The room was very clean and well appointed. The bed was much larger than I expected for a European hotel and super comfortable. It looks like the rooms were updated recently. The bathroom was spacious and well lit. The only issue I had was some of the clothes I hung in the closet ended up smelling a bit musty...like an old closet. LOL. I got the package with breakfast and it was the perfect way to start my day! Lots of options, friendly staff, and the food was quite good."

The staff were friendly, the facilities excellent (I was sad not to have realised there was a health centre & spa and hadn’t packed clothing to enjoy these areas), the restaurant had good breakfast and dinner options and the bed was devine. The place was immaculately clean. The location meant it was handy to get into the centre by bus (a few minutes walk away) with good connections to main roads and sufficient parking. They have bicycle rental and I took the bike paths out to castle de Haar - a 25 min cycle - and was not disappointed. I would recommend a stay here to anyone and would return in a heartbeat.
