Stay in this industrial area at our off-grid accommodation. With this completely self-sufficient houseboat (solar energy, drinking water purification and biotank) we want to run a business without leaving a footprint.
The space
Via a small path from the dock, you get access to your own space. This studio apartment has a loft bed with two single mattresses, separate duvets and pillows. The apartment has a private bathroom and a lounge/dining area complete with canal views and a hammock so you can make the most of your adventure.
The listing has recently been upgraded to include a fireplace for heating, allowing you to have control over how warm you would like the space. We have equipped each room with its own fridge and Nespresso machine so that guests can still enjoy the small luxury of a freshly brewed coffee, tea or hot chocolate during their stay.
Guest access
Each guest has their own room, including a bathroom, with their own key.
The only shared space is outside on the quay or on the floating terrace where you can sit.
Other things to note
The house boats do not have their own address, so do not blindly follow the navigation. Please read our instructions below (or see the photos in check-in instructions) to avoid getting lost.
The Industriehaven, where the boats are located, can be reached from 2 sides and the parking rules are the same on both sides (free between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM, otherwise payed).
1. For the east entrance, navigate to Nijverheidskade 13, this is the parking area behind the Esso gas station. Here you can park on the left on the waterfront past the fence of the Astrimex company. (Please do not drive or walk through their gate, they do not appreciate this and there is no access to the boats from their property.) Right next to this fence you will find a small staircase to the dock. Walk along it until you reach the boats.
Sometimes there are guys hanging out in the parking lot and this may seem shady, but we have always easily lived past each other.
2. For the west entrance, navigate to Loggerstraat 2, this is the last street between this neighborhood and a large canal. Park somewhere around here. From here, walk north along the Keulsekade to a large blue bridge. Just before this bridge there is a small staircase on the right to the dock. Walk along it until you reach the boats.

The Stylish Studio on a Houseboat has a private bathroom, a private garden with terras and lounge sofa/fireplace. The Houseboat is located in an old city park, lots of green and more than 30 species of birds. Just a few minutes walking distance to Utrecht city-centre . Free parking on 20 meters (enough places)
Security/Safety • Wellness Facilities • Child Friendly • Bedding/Linens • Internet
The Tugboat is located at ‘de Vecht’, a river located just outside of Utrecht. Our surroundings are green and quiet, but within 15 minutes by bike you’re in the city centre of Utrecht. The boat is fully furnished and decorated with a lot of wooden details. It is difficult to describe a ship in a few words, so please have a look at the photo’s! They are 2 bicycles and a rowing boat available for our guests.
The overnight price includes cleaning, all consumables, bicycles and 6% tourist tax.
The space
The Anna is a real Tugboat, in which it transport the Dutch Sinterklaas (a tradition like Santa Claus) into Utrecht every year because his own steamer does not fit through the small historical canals in Utrecht. Let the atmosphere of the boat surprise you, and feel like you’re back in time. Enjoy the calming effect of being on the water after a day or night out in Utrecht.
The ship is perfect for 2 persons.
Guest access
To enter the ship you use a wooden gangplank which brings you to the deck. In summertime we can put up an awning to create some shadow. The deck, gangways and roof of the deckhouse are perfect to use as terrace and there is a small bench on the back of the ship. We have blankets for you to use, same as a big oil lamp for long (summer)evenings. From the deck you enter the wheelhouse, in which you find the steering wheel, but also a small kitchen with a water pump and bassinet, stove (2 pits), small oven and refrigerator. There is a table with 3 chairs and a cosy bench. To get in the deckhouse you climb down the stairs, where you’ll find a pelletstove to warm the ship in colder times. Within the deckhouse you have loads of closet space, the two closets all the way in de front are filled with novels (starboard) and informative books about ships and Utrecht and surroundings (port side). You can hang up a hammock and read comfortably in front of the stove. The deckhouse also holds the cabin, with a matras of 1.25x2m. Behind the bed there is a space with hangers for your clothes. All the way in the front (accessible from the deckhouse) you’ll find a traditional high toilet. Inside this small bathroom we have an ewer where you can wash yourself (NB: there is no shower).
Other things to note
You are personally welcomed to explain a few things about staying on a ship. For example; how to use the waterpump, the stove, the pellet heater, the toilet and the oil lamp. As mentioned above there is no shower, however, there is enough (drinking) water to wash yourself. It is also possible to swim right next to the ship, and in the canal on the other side of the street. Maarsseveen (4km) is also suitable for swimming and had a beautiful wellness centre SpaSereen. Besides, there are some public swimming pools in the neighbourhood.

A unique experience! Take a dip in the water, eat and drink on the terrace and enjoy the freedom. A true holiday feeling. Nice by the water and yet within walking distance of the city center of Utrecht. We hope you can enjoy our nice home. Also super nice for children. We have a toddler ourselves, so toddler bedroom, toys, bath and fence by the water... it's all there!
Please note: we have two (very sweet!) British Shorthair cats!
The space
Our houseboat has a wonderfully bright kitchen with adjoining living room (with play corner in the "upstairs room!"). Through the kitchen, double sliding doors to both a front and back terrace. And of course, views of the water everywhere! Downstairs, there is one double room, one bedroom with toddler bed, a laundry room and office. Furthermore, of course, a bathroom and two separate toilet areas.
If desired, an air bed and/or camping bed can be placed.
In the garden, there is a shed where you can possibly store a bicycle. Our electric bicycles can be used in consultation. There is also a SUP board outside that can be used!
Please note if you are very tall ;-) : in bedroom 1 it is 1.93 meters high! The other areas downstairs are 2.10 meters high.
Guest access
The entire houseboat is available. However, our personal belongings are there because we live here.
Other things to note
We have a toddler ourselves, and that is why we have placed fences outside, both by the water and in the front yard. Of course, it is important to keep an eye on them.
Please note: we have two (very sweet!) British Shorthair cats who like to cuddle, get food and drink and (for stays longer than 2 nights) have a clean litter box. In consultation, we can also take them with us.
