Each unit is newly renovated and comfortable for 1-2 people to stay in. It is conveniently located near the Maxima Park, shops and lots of beautiful bike and walking paths. Next to the property is a large farm - which has a great store with fresh, local foods open on Thu-Sat. The area is very safe and friendly. Parking is free. Highways are easy to reach. A train station is nearby, making travel to Amsterdam easy. The bed is in the loft. The stairs to the loft are steep and may be problematic for people with mobility problems. The apartment is a second floor loft with a large open space with a 140x200 cm sized bed on one side and the sitting area and table on the other side and lots of space in between. One floor lower provides a small separate 2nd bedroom with a same sized bed for 2 people. The apartment has recently been renovated and has a fully equipped kitchen and a new stylish bathroom with shower and bath with water jets. The equipment in the apartment is mostly new. The apartment has its own entrance, behind which two steep stairs lead to the loft.

To visit De Haar Castle, whether to admire its park, its rich history, the exhibitions, gardens, deer or for a wedding, is to be immersed in a different world. Behind every door, every detail, every flower in its colorful gardens is a story. A story about earlier times, different cultures and interesting characters. De Haar is the largest castle in the Netherlands, once the private residence of the Van Zuylen family, whose descendants still stay here yearly. Artists of all times push boundaries and search for new horizons. For example, artists from Utrecht moved to Italy in the seventeenth century. There they were inspired by the landscape and their Italian contemporaries. Once back in Utrecht, they introduced a new painting style: vast landscapes with an Italian-Mediterranean light reminiscent of a sweltering summer day.

In the exhibition On the horizon, we depart from the time of the Italianates to tell a story about how contemporary artists and makers view the journey through the landscape today. It is about the experience of the landscape, about traveling with a clear goal or about the so-called wanderlust; traveling without a destination in mind. It's about inspiration and whether you find it close to home or far away. The journey through the landscape is still an important theme, a source of inspiration, but not only idealized images are created. Themes such as forced migration and climate crisis are also visible in the landscape.

On the horizon is the first in a new series of summer exhibitions at the Centraal Museum. The exhibition offers surprising combinations and responds to current events. As for nice eateries; if you have young children, 'Mister Smakers' is a nice hamburger restaurant a 5-minute walk away. We are very pleased with it.
'Terroir' (French cuisine) Madeleine (bistro), both good and a bit more expensive; otherwise Ruby Rose (shared dining) Carmel market (Israeli shared dining) San Siro (Italian food) all within a 10 minute walk. Opposite of us is ‘Het Oude Pothuis’; good for a drink but other places offer better food like restaurant 273; very good but also expensive and also opposite us just like toko Pedis, delicious Indonesian takeaway restaurant. If you want a good pubmeal, go to Cafe De Poort, Café Ledig Erf or arthouse filmtheater Louis Hartlooper on the square named ‘Ledig Erf’. There are also Michelin starred restaurants and restaurants in special places or special concepts that we can recommend if you want.
You should book at least a day ahead to get a table in a restaurant in Utrecht.

Getting Around:
Train
It is a 15-20 minute walk from the central train station to the apartment.
Alternatively you coud take the bus. It’s line 2. Get of at the busstop Catherijne convent and walk 3 minutes. Find the bus in central station at 'platform 2a city centre side'. It’s a 10 minute bus ride.

Parking
There is often available parking space in front of the door.
Between 7 a.m. - 1 a.m. the costs are €7.84 per hour
Evening ticket 7:00 PM - 1:00 AM is €26.28.

The best option is to find a ParkBee location by downloading an app called ‘ParkBee’ . The closest ParkBee location is a 3 minutes walk away and costs €4,68 per hour of €30,12,7 per day on the Lange Nieuwstraat 119. It is often fully booked But ParkBee has more locations close by.

Close by is the Springweg parking garage, which is €6,97 per hour of €69,70 per day at a 5-minute walk.

There is also ‘parkeergarage Vaartsche Rijn’ in 13 minutes walking distance for which is €3,50 per hour of €35 per 24 hours. Evening ticket 7:00 PM - 0:00 AM is €8,73.

Since one may not need a car for Utrecht and parts of the Netherlands. Parking the car further away for free and taking a tram back may also be an option. Park somewhere around the ‘Trumanlaan’ in Utrecht. Take the Tram on the ‘Beneluxlaan’ towards ‘Science Park’ and get of at ‘Centraal Station’ (a 11 minute ride) and walk 20 minutes from there. You can simply check in and out of the tram using your creditcard. The ride is €3,20, don’t forget to check out!

It is a real child-rich neighborhood. Dutch children play outside on the street during the day and it is wonderfully quiet at night. This is also what we expect from our guests.

Although Loenen is very close to Amsterdam and Utrecht, we are in the green and public transport is organised as in all suburbs: 2 x an hour during daytime. One 1 per hour at night. After this one very hour untill 0.00. Over the weekend only once every hour. In Loenen kids play all over the village, also in this street you sometimes hear them.Parking always at the parkinglot please.

Another misunderstanding is that everybody in Holland uses canabis in and around home. This is absolutely untrue. In my place and garden there is a NO DRUGS policy of any kind. If drugs is part of your objective here in Holland. Please book another place.

Loenen is a village between Amsterdam and Utrecht. The bus connection with Amsterdam (Bijlmer station) and Utrecht (120) runs twice an hour on weekdays until 11 a.m. in the center of Loenen near Jumbo. In the weekends, public transport starts at 9 a.m. to midnight and the bus runs once an hour.

By car you go off at the A2 exit Vinkeveen-Hilversum. In 4 minutes you are at Cronenburgh, the golf course and the studio.

When I am hosting, the second space is all yours (I sleep below, in the studio). In your space you will find a fridge, Nespresso, large bed, lazy chair, headphone, bluetooth speaker, a place to store clothes/stuff, a convector heater and small fan.

Welcome to my apartment. When I am on vacation or otherwise not at home, I rent out my apartment so that others can also enjoy a homey atmosphere during their vacation or stay in Utrecht!

The apartment is on the 3rd floor, accessible by an old-fashioned, therefore somewhat steeper, staircase.

The entrance is on the first floor, where the litter box is also located, so that there is no nuisance in the rest of the apartment (and the cat has its privacy ;-)).

Stairs up will take you to the floor with a spacious bright hall. You will immediately notice this, at least that is what I always hear, what a light, space and atmosphere!

From here you can reach the kitchen, which is fully equipped: induction hob, fridge, freezer, coffee maker (Bialetti), oven, microwave, dishwasher and I probably forget a lot, I love cooking so the cookware is very complete!

The living room has a dining table area and seating area, there is a TV with Chromecast, a music box on Bluetooth. Furthermore, many plants for the atmosphere, see the photos :) (for long stays, the plants are happy if they get water).

Bedroom has a very good Swiss Sense mattress, 180x200cm :)

Bathroom simple, but a lovely shower, also a washing machine if needed.

- The bed is located on the entresol, accessible by Dutch style stairs (relatively steep) inside the studio.

Visitors
Receiving visitors by our guests (i.e. friends or relatives) in the studio is limited; on occasions you can entertain guests but only when previously announced and agreed upon.

You can a invite a friend, partner or relative to stay over for a maximum of 7 nights per month at €10,70 per night.

Bicycle
In most cases we will have a bicycle available for you during your stay, free of charge, and equipped with two locks and bike lights. Use of this bicycle will be at own risk.

Additional costs
Most costs are included in the rent: VAT, washing facilities, energy, internet, the use of a bicycle (if available) and the cleaning cost at the end of your stay.
The additional costs will consist of a compulsory weekly cleaning, 17,50 €/week, and the tourist tax.

Tourist tax
Unfortunatly, Utrecht's city council also applies tourist tax to longer stays without a touristical objective. If you are registered as resident in Utrecht, for example via the University or your employer, you will be exempted from this tax.
In 2025, the tourist tax will be charged at 8,5% of the rent, as received by your host.

Weekly cleaning
Your studio will be cleaned for you each week on Friday or Saturday afternoon.
Please make sure the studio is in an orderly condition to be cleaned.

These costs are to be paid monthly or at the end of your stay.

Cats
We have a two cats, Mingus & Cato.
They are very friendly and will mind their own business as cats do. Although they are rarely to be found near the studios you might meet them on the stairs occasionally.
Watch out for dark furred Cato - she's not very visible on the stairs at night.

I would love to welcome you in my relaxed, lovely and luxurious home where I live with so much joy. It's located in a quiet street, but a 5 min walk to the city center and the train station. Amsterdam is only a 20 minute train ride away. You will feel right at home in this great intercultural neighbourhood where everyone is welcomed.

The space
This cozy, completely renovated apartment is fully equipped. It is stylishly furnished, there is a lot of light and has a nice atmosphere. There is a front and a backyard, living room with sitting and dining area, separate toilet, bathroom and bedroom that can be used. Everything in the house works properly and all facilities can be used.

Due to covid19 this property will be fully cleaned by the Airbnb cleaning protocol and disinfected with the best products there are. I always make sure everything is as clean as it can be, but during these times every extra effort is necessary. You can be sure this apartment is a save place to come to. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this issue, please send me a message. I’m always available to answer any questions.

You will have access to the whole apartment that is fully equipped, no sharing.

Other things to note
If you want to make a reservation for 3 or 4 people; there is a twin bed that is for 2 people in the bedroom. And I will set up a twin air bed in the living room for 1 or 2 people depending on how many people are coming.

Unfortunately there is no free parking in front of the house (except for Sunday’s). But 1 kilometer further along, it is free. Most guest park their car there and walk (5-10 min) to the apartment. You can also take 2 bus stops. I can provide you with all the information you need the know about where when you book.

The apartment is the upper floor (35m2) in a historic house (1930's) . Your private space consists of 2 rooms, bathroom and walk-in cupboard. You can sleep in separate rooms if you wish. There is a kitchenette (stove, microwave, fridge). Parking space in front of house, free in weekends and free during week at Vulcanusdreef, 5 min walk. The house is located in a green neighbourhood, 10 minutes from centre by bike, 25 minutes walking,. Towels are present. The house is non smoking.

The space
The loft is quiet, pleasant and tasteful. You will have the top floor of the house I live in at your disposal and enjoy full privacy. The space is app 35 m2.

There is a living room with a bunkbed and desk. In the living room the sofa can also be turned in a 2 person bed in case a lower third bed is preferred.

In the bedroom corner of the second room is a kitchenette and a folding table. Stools are behind staircase. Fridge and microwave/oven are present in the walk in cupboard. There is a lot of extra space beside the rooms in the loft.

The place is clean tidy and welcoming for you to have a good time and make the most of your visit to Utrecht. Tourist information is provided in books and leaflets. I always enjoy to give personalized information.

There is a keycode pad on the front door and an the access code before your arrival.

You are welcome to use the (shared) washing machine, there is space to hang out your laundry. there is also a possibility to iron.

You can sit in the front garden if you like, you will find 2 chairs and a small table.

Other things to note
There are 3 bicycles available, at no cost. If the bicycle is not returned, there is a charge of 150,00 euros.

Nb I am open to long term reservations for couples and single persons.

Being located right at the heart of the city center, you will have the luxury of immersing yourself in the bustling city life of Utrecht in the summer, while the apartment offers an oasis of peace and tranquility, solely interrupted by the churchbells of the nearby Dom tower. Plant lovers are more than welcome as the hall way and balcony features a lot of green in need of weekly watering. The kitchen -while small- features all the necessities for preparing your meals (Stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge). You can share your meals at the wooden monastery table while enjoying the view of a leafy courtyard.

The Canal Garden Apartments is located in a completely renovated monumental building, in the heart of Utrecht ’s city centre. Thes apartment, that is located on the ground floor of the building in a former monastery courtyard that is connected to Utrecht’s main canal ‘The Oudegracht’ by the Zwaansteeg.

Easy going space to relax on a trip to the Netherlands/Utrecht. Everything that you need is available for a pleasant stay. The apartment is 10 min biking away from center of Utrecht, but you can also get out of town and follow the river Vecht just 2 minutes walking away.
