It is wonderful to spend the night in the old fortress of beautiful Gorinchem. You have the lower floor with bedroom and bathroom, all to yourself, with its own entrance. I live above it myself.

The chapel is located in a former monastery, which has recently been renovated. The apartment is located on the second floor of the monastery. The chapel is completely decorated in atmosphere and all facilities are present. There are 4 sleeping places available.

The space
This unique chapel is fully styled and decorated by a stylist. This takes into account the unique look of the chapel with its high vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows. In the main room, in a separate part, there is a comfortable double bed, and in a separate room, two single beds that can also be joined together.
In addition, there is a complete kitchen with dishwasher, fridge-freezer, combination microwave and induction hob with 4 zones. Furthermore, there is a separate toilet and a shower.

History of the Monastery:
On July 8, 1850, the Congregation of the Sisters of Franciscanessen of Bennebroek wrote a simple note to the city that they wanted to build. Furthermore, no cutlery or drawing was submitted. It doesn't seem to be necessary. The Sisters who meanwhile the Francisesof St. Called Lucia, came to Gorinchem to teach. This establishment was part of the restoration of the Roman Catholic Hierarchy in the Netherlands, which began in 1853.
