The B&B is on the waterfront in an historic building in the center of Utrecht. With all the bustling going on in the streets above, here you find peace and quietness. The spacious one-room apartment allows you to eat, drink, sleep, work and relax in an artsy atmosphere.

The front of the room has a settee and a large dining table. There's a television, cd-player, free Wifi. In the middle there are 3 beds and at the back of the room you find facilities for making tea or coffee. The kitchenette has a refrigarator, microwave, cooking facility and sink and all kitchen utensils and towels are provided.
The bathroom is a separate room at the back. Total surface is 50m2. French doors open onto the quay. Folding table and chairs are available for sitting outside on the quay.
The canal is just 3 meters from the front door. The house was built in the 19th century as a warehouse, so don't expect a modern high tech 21th century apartment, but an old restored house with much character.
The quay, only accessible by foot or bicycle, is right in front of the house.
The streets above offer bakeries, grocery stores, museums (Centraal Museum, Universiteitsmuseum, Catharijneconvent), the cinema (Louis Hartlooper Complex). All within 3 minutes walking distance. Walk to the centre along the Oudegracht and you'll find vintage stores, boutiques, historic buildings café's, bars, restaurants, water sports activities and all the modern shops.

The host was kind enough to clean the unit and change the bedding half way through our two week stay. Being able to open the doors right out to the canal is truly a unique experience. We happened to be staying there the weekend that the Sinterklaas parade came down the canal, which was an absolutely magical. The unit itself is cozy and has everything you need for your stay. The hosts even provided snacks and breakfast for our first morning, which was a welcome surprise. The bed is two twin beds pushed together and is very comfortable. I was a little worried from the pictures that I would be too tall for the shower, but we had no problems. It is bigger than it looks. The Internet was very fast and reliable. There were so many amazing restaurants and cafes within walking distance. There are also several grocery stores very close by. The neighborhood is wonderfully quiet and peaceful but is only a short walk to the city center. If we ever come back to Utrecht, I would love to stay here again. "

As a guest, you will truly be staying in our home with our dog Bobbie.

We love to welcome you in our cozy detached studio in the east of Utrecht. The quiet neighborhood is just 12 min by bike to the historical citycentre (free bikes available). Your private "front house" has its own entrance and all conveniences. So you will have all privacy but if you need any help, we would love to help you out (we live nextdoor).

Right on the boundary of the city centre and 10 metres from the Vaartsche Rijn Station, you will find our creative studio. With your own entrance, the studio hosts a kitchenette, double bed, a writer's desk and en suite bathroom. This street houses some of the coolest coffee places, restaurants and book stores in the city. With a view onto the canal, you are welcome to make yourself a second home just a 5 minute walk from the city centre. Three UNESCO sides are in a 5-10 min cycle.

The space
A 20m² studio apartment beside the host's own apartment. There is room to cook something simple and make tea or coffee. The features in the studio are simple but comfortable. One person can work remotely with an office chair, wooden writing desk and good wifi.

NB PLEASE NOTE: The ladder to climb up to your bed requires relatively good mobility.
It is a queen size bed.

The en suite has a washing machine and there is a clothes rack for practical travelling needs.

Try a coffee at the famous coffee bar and record shop across the canal. Next door is an Indonesian restaurant and a top vegan restaurant. Further up the canal is a popular sunny drinks spot. For the early risers there is a yoga studio opposite. And for the avid readers you will find the best new niche titles at the Boekenbar. All these are within two minutes of your studio!

In the summer you should sit outside your door under the mural and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sun.

There is a stand up paddle board available for those who want to explore the city centre via the canal.

Our Airbnb of about 30m2 is located in Utrecht's historic downtown area. The space is close to all nice museums, good restaurants and cafes. This Airbnb is located on a centuries-old monastery garden. The studio has recently (November 2021) been renovated and equipped with a new necessary equipment. My space is suitable for day trippers, couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. The apartment has a private entrance.

Option 3: Finally, there is the option to park the car in a P+R. Then take the tram/bus/train to the station. From the station, it is about a 13-minute walk to the apartment. This is the cheapest option, but you will have to spend extra time parking the car. The cost per day at a P+R location is €6. And the total travel time to and from the apartment about 30 minutes. Some examples are: 1. Westraven, Science Park, Berlinplein and Papendorp.
