It’s close to the train station (pro tip: you can cut through the mall instead of walking all the way around the block!), and we had the most amazing meal ever at SMAAK, which is conveniently situated in the alleyway directly behind the hotel. There’s a Starbucks right next door and a grocery store nearby, and it’s within walking distance of the canal district with all its shops and restaurants, and there’s a bike rental shop close by as well. The room itself was clean and they had washcloths in the bathroom (the only hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to the Netherlands who offered them), and the front desk was happy to hold our luggage for us on our arrival and departure days when we had some additional exploring to do. The staff was friendly and helpful and I was able to check in minutes after booking the reservation. The room was very clean and well appointed. The bed was much larger than I expected for a European hotel and super comfortable. It looks like the rooms were updated recently. The bathroom was spacious and well lit. The only issue I had was some of the clothes I hung in the closet ended up smelling a bit musty...like an old closet. LOL. I got the package with breakfast and it was the perfect way to start my day! Lots of options, friendly staff, and the food was quite good."

The TV had around 30 or so channels of which 12 were free (including 2 BBC channels) and the remainder available for a small additional charge. Wireless internet was available throughout the hotel for a small daily charge and worked perfectly well. The breakfast buffet was typical for a dutch hotel and the staff did not rush you to finish. Internet and comfortable chairs are available in the reception area and staff were friendly and helpful in providing local information. All in all a friendly, well equipped hotel in a quiet location that's excellently located for visiting the rest of the town or as a base for visiting the central part of The Netherlands."
