Parking is available for 1-2 guest cars on our private circular driveway or on the street. We ask guests to park on the circle in front of the house or by the tennis court. Additional Guest cars should be parked on the street.

You have a separate entrance to your private space, which consists of 2 adjacent bedrooms with 4 beds & a large en suite bathroom with both a shower and bathtub/shower combo. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed and a daybed/trundle that converts to a twin bed. Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed and a twin bed. If requested, we can move the twin out of Bedroom 2 and relocate the table and chairs into the room.

Both bedrooms have door locks from the inside, ample closet space, luggage racks, ceiling fan/lights with remote control and alarm clocks. Bedroom 2 is suitable for working remotely with its desk. The apartment has very high speed WiFi (>400 Mbps download & >200 upload speeds).

There is an Ecobee temperature sensor in Bedroom 1 and guests can control the temperature in the space through the downloaded Ecobee app.

The large en suite bathroom has both a shower and bathtub/shower combo. Guests in both bedrooms have private access to the bathroom either through the walk-in closet that connects to Bedroom 1 (through two sets of doors) or from the hallway. Both of the bathroom's doors are lockable from the inside.

Towel refreshment is available during your stay. In addition, Guests can make arrangements with our live-in housekeeper for overnight laundry service ($40 minimum).

Guests have access weather permitting to the House's private tennis court. Owner can provide tennis racquets and balls upon request. The tennis court patio is available for guest use as well. Coolers and a Solo Stove fire pit are available for guest use upon request. Log bundles can be purchased at the nearby Giant Food in the Westwood Shopping Center.

Braeburn House is a perfect location for guests working in the Bethesda area, visiting family or wishing to explore the DMV (DC, MD, VA). The surrounding Bannockburn neighborhood is very walkable and safe. Our House is the first house on the left of Braeburn Parkway, which is a quiet and heavily treed cul-de-sac just off of Pyle and River Roads. From the 495 Beltway, Guests will take the River Road (MD 190) South exit for 1.5 miles and turn right on Braeburn Parkway. There is a turning lane onto Braeburn Parkway from River Road.

We are located inside the Beltway in Bethesda just off River Road (MD 190) near to Walt Whitman High School, Landon School and Holton Arms School. Our location provides easy access via your car or Uber/Lyft to many excellent restaurants & shops in downtown Bethesda, Cabin John, Potomac, Glen Echo, Chevy Chase, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. It’s only 8 minutes by car to the Bethesda Metro or Friendship Heights Metro stations (both on the Red Line) for a 30 minute train ride to downtown Washington, DC. There is ample indoor parking adjacent to the Metro Stations. Uber/Lyft to the Bethesda or Friendship Heights Metro Stations is approximately $10.

The Pyle Road/River Road WMATA T2 bus stop is around the corner from the house (3-4 min walk). The T2 bus will take you to the Friendship Heights Metro Station as well as the shopping mall and restaurants. From Friendship Heights you can take the Metro train south to DC or north to downtown Bethesda (1 stop). We provide a hard copy of the WMATA T2 bus schedule and an empty Metro card that you can use and refill when you take the bus or the Metro train.

You can take the T2 bus in the other direction (north) up River Road to Potomac Village and its shops and restaurants. The T2 bus line ends at Rockville Metro Station (also on the Red line). We respect your need for quiet and do our best to tip toe around upstairs especially between 8:30pm and 6:30am. Expect an apartment style amount of sound to carry down to you at other times.

The washer and dryer that we will share is in the basement. We will respect your privacy and always ask instead of assume that we can come down and use it during your stay.
We know that many individuals have multiple chemical sensitivities and do our best to use aldehyde free products. However, every now and then there is a sale on a favorite fragrant shampoo of mine and I put it in the basement shower. Please lmk if you do have allergies and I will remove it.
To respect the needs of everyone who stays with us, please avoid smoking on the property and using fragrances.

Communication between the host and us was top notch from the beginning. Our daughter celebrated her Sweet 16th birthday which ironically happened to be one of the owner’s birthdays as well. The hosts brought down Georgetown Cupcakes (amazing by the way) for our daughter. Even our mini doxies felt at home. The neighborhood was very delightful as well. This spacious apartment in Bethesda sleeps eight and is centrally located, close to everything that the Washington area has to offer. We are close to the National Mall, downtown Bethesda and the Metro, public bus stops, Georgetown University, Tyson’s Corner shopping mall, and the scenic beauty of Great Falls. We are across the street from the entrance to the Potomac River and the C&O Canal’s towpath, where you can go for hikes and bike along the water. We offer guests a bike rack filled with 6 bikes at your disposal. The towpath/bike path is 250 miles of Federal park land that will take you all over the Washington area and will connect you to downtown DC, downtown Bethesda, and scenic destinations like Mount Vernon. We are a ten-minute walk to the Irish Inn and the Glen Echo National Park where activities might include festivals, art shows, children’s theater, a merry-go-round, and weekend ballroom dancing.
The newly renovated apartment is on the ground floor of our single-family home and sits on ¾ acre lot surrounded by trees and overlooking a garden and pond. It has its own private entrance, and free private parking for two cars. There are two bedrooms - the master bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom has two queen beds and a 43 inch TV. There also is a pull-out couch in the living room that provides additional sleeping options. The kitchen features brand-new appliances and a large table that seats eight. There is a separate washer/dryer, and a modern, updated bathroom. The separate living area is bathed in light from large picture windows, and where you can relax and watch television on the 65-inch smart TV.

We had an extended stay while our home was undergoing water mitigation from a flood. My six year old daughter and I loved it, and our dogs loved it even more. It’s homey with something for everyone. We especially loved having the canal so close by for daily walks. The house is set back into a hillside which features a little enclave of similar modern homes. At night it feels like a secret wonderland. We highly recommend Liz and John’s place for anyone new to the area or needing an in town get away for a short or long day."

We live in a beautiful tree lined and safe neighborhood just outside Washington DC in an architect-designed home that is a few minute walk to the C&O Canal National Park, Potomac River, and only 15 minutes by car to D.C Bethesda, and Tysons Corner allowing for swift access to amazing shopping and dining experiences. Grocery store, pharmacy, coffee shop, gas station, and restaurants are all located in a quaint shopping mall less than a mile away. Additionally, Georgetown University, American University, George Washington University, Foxhall Campus, French and German Embassies as well as Georgetown University and Sibley Hospitals are all within a three-mile-radius. Our home has easy access to public transportation (few minutes walk to D5 Express bus to downtown DC and RideOn #23 bus will take you to the Friendship Heights Metro stop on the Red Line.
