You will have a private entrance to 2 adjacent upstairs bedrooms & large bathroom, big screen TV, AppleTV, hi-speed WiFi, microwave, mini-fridge, Keurig, coffee-maker, spring water cooler & more. You have a separate entrance to your private space, which consists of 2 adjacent bedrooms with 4 beds & a large en suite bathroom with both a shower and bathtub/shower combo. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed and a daybed/trundle that converts to a twin bed. Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed and a twin bed. If requested, we can move the twin out of Bedroom 2 and relocate the table and chairs into the room.

Both bedrooms have door locks from the inside, ample closet space, luggage racks, ceiling fan/lights with remote control and alarm clocks. Bedroom 2 is suitable for working remotely with its desk. The apartment has very high speed WiFi (>400 Mbps download & >200 upload speeds).

There is an Ecobee temperature sensor in Bedroom 1 and guests can control the temperature in the space through the downloaded Ecobee app.

The large en suite bathroom has both a shower and bathtub/shower combo. Guests in both bedrooms have private access to the bathroom either through the walk-in closet that connects to Bedroom 1 (through two sets of doors) or from the hallway. Both of the bathroom's doors are lockable from the inside.

Towel refreshment is available during your stay. In addition, Guests can make arrangements with our live-in housekeeper for overnight laundry service ($40 minimum).

Guests have access weather permitting to the House's private tennis court. Owner can provide tennis racquets and balls upon request. The tennis court patio is available for guest use as well. Coolers and a Solo Stove fire pit are available for guest use upon request. Log bundles can be purchased at the nearby Giant Food in the Westwood Shopping Center.

Braeburn House is a perfect location for guests working in the Bethesda area, visiting family or wishing to explore the DMV (DC, MD, VA). The surrounding Bannockburn neighborhood is very walkable and safe. Our House is the first house on the left of Braeburn Parkway, which is a quiet and heavily treed cul-de-sac just off of Pyle and River Roads. From the 495 Beltway, Guests will take the River Road (MD 190) South exit for 1.5 miles and turn right on Braeburn Parkway. There is a turning lane onto Braeburn Parkway from River Road.

We are located inside the Beltway in Bethesda just off River Road (MD 190) near to Walt Whitman High School, Landon School and Holton Arms School. Our location provides easy access via your car or Uber/Lyft to many excellent restaurants & shops in downtown Bethesda, Cabin John, Potomac, Glen Echo, Chevy Chase, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. It’s only 8 minutes by car to the Bethesda Metro or Friendship Heights Metro stations (both on the Red Line) for a 30 minute train ride to downtown Washington, DC. There is ample indoor parking adjacent to the Metro Stations. Uber/Lyft to the Bethesda or Friendship Heights Metro Stations is approximately $10.

The Pyle Road/River Road WMATA T2 bus stop is around the corner from the house (3-4 min walk). The T2 bus will take you to the Friendship Heights Metro Station as well as the shopping mall and restaurants. From Friendship Heights you can take the Metro train south to DC or north to downtown Bethesda (1 stop). We provide a hard copy of the WMATA T2 bus schedule and an empty Metro card that you can use and refill when you take the bus or the Metro train.

You can take the T2 bus in the other direction (north) up River Road to Potomac Village and its shops and restaurants. The T2 bus line ends at Rockville Metro Station (also on the Red line). If you feel like a quick work out, there are free weights and yoga mats at your disposal. Kayakers, we have room to store your kayaks in the back yard. We respect your need for quiet and do our best to tip toe around upstairs especially between 8:30pm and 6:30am. Expect an apartment style amount of sound to carry down to you at other times.

We know that many individuals have multiple chemical sensitivities and do our best to use aldehyde free products. However, every now and then there is a sale on a favorite fragrant shampoo of mine and I put it in the basement shower. Please lmk if you do have allergies and I will remove it.
To respect the needs of everyone who stays with us, please avoid smoking on the property and using fragrances.

This spacious apartment in Bethesda sleeps eight and is centrally located, close to everything that the Washington area has to offer. We are close to the National Mall, downtown Bethesda and the Metro, public bus stops, Georgetown University, Tyson’s Corner shopping mall, and the scenic beauty of Great Falls. We are across the street from the entrance to the Potomac River and the C&O Canal’s towpath, where you can go for hikes and bike along the water. We offer guests a bike rack filled with 6 bikes at your disposal. The towpath/bike path is 250 miles of Federal park land that will take you all over the Washington area and will connect you to downtown DC, downtown Bethesda, and scenic destinations like Mount Vernon. We are a ten-minute walk to the Irish Inn and the Glen Echo National Park where activities might include festivals, art shows, children’s theater, a merry-go-round, and weekend ballroom dancing.
The newly renovated apartment is on the ground floor of our single-family home and sits on ¾ acre lot surrounded by trees and overlooking a garden and pond. It has its own private entrance, and free private parking for two cars. There are two bedrooms - the master bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom has two queen beds and a 43 inch TV. There also is a pull-out couch in the living room that provides additional sleeping options. The kitchen features brand-new appliances and a large table that seats eight. There is a separate washer/dryer, and a modern, updated bathroom. The separate living area is bathed in light from large picture windows, and where you can relax and watch television on the 65-inch smart TV.

We especially loved having the canal so close by for daily walks. The house is set back into a hillside which features a little enclave of similar modern homes. At night it feels like a secret wonderland. We highly recommend Liz and John’s place for anyone new to the area or needing an in town get away for a short or long day."

Welcoming and light-filled suite, on the bottom level of our home, with a lush garden entrance and small private yard. Only a 7 minutes walk to Bethesda metro which takes you downtown to Metro Center in 17 minutes. Easy access to Washington DC museums and monuments.

The south-facing ground-level backyard patio entrance is surrounded by flowers (in season) and mature trees. Inside, there is a living room with a large couch, an office area and reading nook, a kitchenette, a dining area, a very clean bathroom and a bedroom area with a new queen-sized bed.

Price is discounted because of heavy footsteps from our area of the house (mostly noticeable during college vacation days when my sons are home) and the walkway is being worked on so there is a section of walkway which is stepping stones through grass.

Note that rental taxes are included in the total as this location only charges taxes on rental less than 30 days, so the discount for long-term stays also includes a discount from not having to pay taxes on that amount.

- "Erika's home is the perfect place to stay when traveling through Bethesda. Super clean, and its clear how much thought she has put in to making each guest's stay comfortable: plenty of outlets/USB ports, great instructions covering any questions you may have, and coffee! Also, her garden is beautiful and you feel like you're staying in your own home rather than a sterile hotel. I was visiting for a training at the NIH, and her home is a 20min walk from the Gateway Center, most of which can be done through suburban side streets. And you're also super close to downtown Bethesda (~5min walk), which makes it really easy to get to DC on the metro or grab dinner at the bars/restaurants in Bethesda. I plan on booking Erika's house whenever I'm back in town and highly recommend it to other travelers!"
