The trail is right outside and a good excuse to get some steps in each day." - "The building is a former hotel of the civil war era... Lovely back garden and breakfast was served in a very period dinning room setting... Our room was small and very cozy, with the most OUTSTANDING and comfortable bed ever. This was mentioned in the description and lived up to the hype... The most lovely aspect of a delightful stay was the home cooked 5 star breakfast, cooked and served by our host!! If you are looking for a safe well attended overnight accommodations with the added warmth of a caring and particular host, we suggest this welcoming spot. "

Bucher House is located in downtown Hanover within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants, pubs, and boutique shops. Also, 30 minutes to Gettysburg, and an hour from Baltimore's inner harbor, Lancaster County Amish community, or Hershey PA. Bucher House was built in 1828 and contains many period antiques with modern amenities. Please note: This property is located in downtown Hanover and like many row houses, built very close to the main street through town. While this presents many advantages of being close to downtown activities and attractions, it also has some degree of regular street noise. If you are a rather light sleeper, this property may not be suitable. However, 93% of customer reviews do not find this an issue.

The suite is a 2nd floor, large one bedroom apartment above a law firm. The living quarters is accessed via a private 1st floor entrance, with Smart entry. The entrance hallway is ideal for storing bikes, golf clubs or muddy shoes. A wide staircase leads to the 2nd floor living space and the living room/dining room. The living room has a queen size sleeper-sofa. The living/dining room is highlighted by 10' ceilings and 3 large windows facing the front of the building and a large stained glass window. Separating the living room and bedroom is a large, fully equipped kitchen with new appliances. The bedroom is also accentuated with 10' ceilings and 2 large windows. To the rear of the bedroom is the bathroom, laundry and large walk-in closet.
- "We had a great stay in this suite. We feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this affordable alternative to the area's hotels. The unit is clean and spacious with all the amenities you need. The bed is comfortable. This is an upstairs unit, as described in the listing, so that should be noted by anyone with mobility issues. Also, the living room is off of a staircase open to the first floor hallway (which can be used by law firm employees, etc) so that might be a little odd if you plan to utilize the sleeper sofa. We didn't find it to be a concern, however, when using the living room. The host provided great communication and truly cared about our stay. The location was great for us. Although on a busy street, the traffic was light in the evenings and early mornings so noise was not an issue when sleeping. We certainly hope that this property remains available and affordable for our future visits as we intend to stay again!"

The host was quick to respond with any questions. The place was super clean! We brought our 2 Golden Retriever girls with us & the fenced in field was perfect for playing fetch! They absolutely loved it! I loved the slanted floors & the old farmhouse appearance! I highly recommend this cabin! ❤️🐾🥰 The grocery store & other stores were only about 10 minutes away which was also great! I wish our stay was longer! Definitely will be back again! 💗"

- "Our weekend stay in Glen Rock was perfect. The spacious multileveled house and property overlooking the beautiful countryside is exactly what we were hoping for. In the entrance was a welcome basket with goodies and essentials along with detailed property information, and areas of interest. Heather and Robyn were extremely responsive from the booking process through our departure. They anticipated our needs and provided what we may have forgotten. The house itself was spotless, comfortable, and spacious. The master suite had a comfortable bed, black out shades, a well-lit vanity and a great bathtub and shower. The well-stocked kitchen has a coffee bar and the family room a large tv, dvds, books, and boardgames. There was plenty of space and seating inside and on the front deck with the retractable awning perfect for outdoor dinners and nature gazing. Our family loved the large outdoor patio and firepit; played foosball, air hockey, and even set up a game of baseball near the apple tree! The Rail trails can be accessed directly across the property’s driveway! It was such a pleasant walk which we took us to the shops on Main Street. We also took a scenic 15-minute drive to a winery that had a food truck and live music, visited the Markets at Shrewsbury and a coffee/ice cream shop. We can only imagine how beautiful the next few weeks will be with all the fall foliage! Our family is already looking forward to our next visit! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"

Beautiful, spacious loft-style apartment in barn on historic farm 25 miles northwest of Baltimore. Quiet, lovely, and peaceful, surrounded on all sides by farmland in conservation. Perfect for a relaxing, tranquil getaway, but within easy commute to Baltimore metro area.
A spacious loft style apartment with a large open living room, dining area & kitchen on the first level. Wood burning stove in LR (wood can be bought locally). Radiant heat on first floor, 2 ceiling fans, and three Mitsubishi split units for further heating and cooling. Modern kitchen with stainless stove, fridge, and dishwasher, including microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker -- but no garbage disposal, as we're on a septic system. Main bathroom on ground level has been recently upgraded with soaking tub and new tile, etc. Bathroom has stackable W&D on first floor. Library in 2nd floor loft area. Bedroom with queen bed and 1/2 bath on 3rd floor. Bedroom has wall unit AC/heater. There is a small balcony overlooking a walled flower garden.
This is the ideal get-away for a weekend or a few weeks. You'll see no neighbors, wake up to the sun rising over the rolling fields, sip your coffee at the table on the balcony--with great views to the surrounding 100 acres--relax on the cozy couch and (on a cold day) watch the fire roaring in the wood stove, take a break to watch the birds from the huge wall of windows, spend a couple of hours browsing through the library on the second level, where you'll find all kinds of great books, then pop a DVD into the player downstairs and watch a classic movie--selected from the large in-house DVD selection--or stream a movie from the free wi-fi. And, if you want a little exercise, walk the grounds, where you'll find all kinds of natural treasures: a huge array of flowers and plants and some old trees of historic proportions, including one of the biggest beech trees in the state.
Our 6-acre farm is just at the outer reaches of the NW Baltimore suburbs, in northern Reisterstown. The town of Reisterstown, 4 miles away, has an historic downtown. Westminster, 8 miles north, has a larger historic downtown and is home to McDaniel College. Both towns have nice restaurants and other local attractions. Just south of Reisterstown are Owings Mills, Pikesville, and Towson, large metropolitan suburbs of Baltimore. All have a large variety of restaurants and shopping. Owings Mills has a subway station (only 15 min away) that travels into downtown Baltimore. We are only about 20-25 min from Pimlico racetrack in NW Baltimore. We are just 35 miles south of Gettysburg and many Pennsylvania attractions, including historic sites, orchards, parks, antiques, flea markets, and local ice cream. We will provide guests with an extensive list of local resources and favorite food stops.
- "Someone with an artistic eye "curated" this multi-level barn home, making it comfy, laid-back, and a delight to stay in. The library mezzanine with a large writing desk and comfy leather chairs was a special treat. We had a wonderful, relaxed time!" - "Our overall impression of the property and our stay was extremely favorable. It is just as advertised, a perfect writer’s retreat. It was a lovely place to call home for 36 or so hours! We would love to come back again some time in the future. Thank you for having us!"

Plenty of dishes, glasses, bakeware and all the “tools” needed for a long term stay. Beautiful sunroom and deck area. Pictures really don’t do it justice. This tiny house is a conversion of an antique hen house on an historic farm. The interior is constructed mostly of reclaimed materials--like yellow pine flooring, corrugated tin ceiling, rough-cut oak book shelves, etc. The walls are decorated with an eclectic collection of art (everything from Japanese woodcut to abstract oils). The cottage features an impressive small library. It's warm and cozy, a superbly relaxing place to clear your head and get some much deserved rest.
PLEASE NOTE: The Cottage is for single occupancy only. We cannot accommodate couples in this space. No exceptions. Please don't ask.

The farm is such an inspiring place and a delight to behold. I hope to return again!"

- "Fantastic" - "Place is quite large. It worked out well for our adventure. The WiFi did not work and had to have son get tv to work." - "The biggest issue we had was that all the lights in the building were super bright. There was no way to dim the lights for the evening hours. There wasn't even a floor lamp that we could turn on separately from all the overhead lights. It would have also been nice to have a small desk to work at with my laptop."
