It is not just a cabin in the woods—it is a home that took two years of great carpentry and masonry work.
This historic (circa 1860) log home was relocated and rebuilt, piece by piece, in 2003. A new addition contains a kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and sunroom.
Located on the historic "Saint Elizabeth" (circa 1745) farm property, 1500 feet from our farmhouse, the cabin was remodeled as a luxury, upscale guesthouse, using the finest materials and craftsmanship, including handmade pieces by owner and resident wood-maker, Bill Eyler.
Cheerful and cozy, there is nothing 'rough' about this home. It boasts great views and privacy and is only minutes from food markets, restaurants, and countless activities, from hiking and skiing to ghost tours, wineries, and Civil War monuments.

Very unique Beautifully Renovated Historic 1840 Downtown Frederick Log Cabin House. There really isn’t anything like this in Frederick. The house is so close to everything downtown. Its about a ten minute walk to the Canal. The holiday season is my wife s favorite time of year in downtown Frederick. The streets are all lit up and looks beautiful.
It has all the amenities of a house to live in full-time. I set it up to live in and ended up moving to Hawaii. Everything is brand new outside of the logs for the cabin and the flooring. It is truly beautiful.
There are so many things to do in downtown Frederick. There are restaurants and bars working a 10 min walk from the house.
I bought the cabin about 4 yrs ago. There were no windows, doors, electrical or plumbing. It was a full renovation to it back to its original beauty with all the modern amenities. It is now a super comfortable place to stay.

Downtown historic buildings have always fascinated me and I love to restore them back to their original beauty. We torn this house down to the studs and renovated everything. This home is close to the canal and about a 10 min easy walk to downtown. Close enough to enjoy all Frederick has to offer and tucked away on a quiet street.
You will feel right at home here. The mattresses are amazing! You’ll have your best night sleep! It has been set up as if we were going to live there. It has everything you would need to cook a great meal if you wanted to stay home. You can walk pretty much anywhere downtown. If you need to you can call an Uber anytime. There is also a MARC train in town if you want to go into DC without the hassle of driving. I hope you enjoy our homes as much as we do.

We are located directly across from the train tracks and the Potomac River. Great for train enthusiasts and kids. Be prepared to see and hear the excitement when trains go by. Very sensitive sleepers may want to take this into consideration! The house sits on a scenic byway that has, just a short distance up the road, beautiful river views and a breathtaking top of mountain vista (Maryland Heights) if you’re a pretty serious hiker. The road trails along the river with the lesser seen opening of The Harpers Ferry train tunnel. This is also the very course John Brown traveled on his way to the armory raid. Knoxville was once a bustling town but suffered hardship when the train station moved to close by Brunswick. Some of the hardship is still evident in the area. The whole Harpers Ferry area is one of the fastest growing areas with Knoxville in particular burgeoning. The area has loads to offer with hiking, biking, tubing, rafting and kayaking or just taking a scenic walk on the tow path. There are vineyards and breweries close by and a few different venues with live music with great views of the river.

If you are looking for a spacious, luxurious and beautifully decorated house with a chefs kitchen this is the place. Plenty of dishes, glasses, bakeware and all the “tools” needed for a long term stay. Beautiful sunroom and deck area. Pictures really don’t do it justice. We had several family visitors while there and each one reacted “wow” when they entered the front door. Grace is a wonderful host who got the details right. Simple décor with lots of natural light from 2 windows in the bedroom. Cushioned leather chair with antique desk (limited weight capacity) available in room for those who need to log a few hours of work. In winter, there is room controlled heat. In summer, there are A/C. Ceiling fans in every room provide added breeze. The living room has a TV with popular stream services. Back deck offers seating overlooking the backyard (and garden when in season).

The space
This is a humble home. Built in the 1980's, my home is traditional with private bedrooms and bathrooms. The living room and kitchen areas are open for sharing. There is a large back deck to enjoy your morning coffee, and the front porch provides a sunset view over the trees while relaxing at the end of your day.

The bedroom is simply decorated and features two full bookcases with variety of reading options. You have use of a dresser with mirror and 6 drawers. A large closet comes with hangers.

DO NOTE: I'm not a Bed and Breakfast. There are no meals provided. However, you have a shelve in the cabinet and the refrigerator so you can cook what you need in the kitchen. I also do not provide soap. However, if you forget yours please let me know. Other guests sometimes leave their bottles and IF I have anything, they are available if needed.

There is a full kitchen. You have access to use the basics (utensils, pots, pans). If you require a shelf in the refrigerator or cabinet shelf, please let me know in advance so I adjust my own grocery shopping so you have a shelf.

The open dining/living space has a dining room table where you can eat your meals. Reserve ALL food and drink to this space. No food or drink is permitted in bedrooms. EXCEPTION: if you have a sealed water bottle you may keep this in the bedroom but on top of a cup-coaster.

There is a flex cable box in the living room serviced by Comcast Xfinity. Remote can be found on one of the two living room end-tables.

There is a front porch and a back deck. Both have seating and tables. If weather permits, you are welcome to enjoy them. (There is still no smoking, even when outside on property.)

During your stay
While there are those guests who prefer to keep to themselves, I've had some wonderful fun with other guests. This includes board game night, wine & dinner, or just movies & chatting.

With all that said, I sometimes also need my space. Don't take it personally if I'm not feeling my normal chatty self. ESPECIALLY if I am watching one of my shows.*wink*

I do not currently host enough to meet Airbnb's required number of reservations to keep my 'SuperHost' status. You'll still get the same 'SuperHost' service!
