Between all of the cabinets and amenities, it's like there's a miniature Bed Bath & Beyond store neatly tucked into this house! My kids my hours playing games from the massive selection in the second living room (because who doesn't have two living rooms?) and an equal amount of time devising ways to extend our stay 🤣 the dog crates in the three seasons room were such a convenience! Exterior: There is an actual concrete sidewalk style walking path out back in a fully fenced in backyard. The beautiful stainless steel grill on the back porch is no doubt going to be awesome for the summer and the benches convert into picnic tables! Host/Hostess: Valerie was absolutely one of the kindest and most patient hosts to date!!! She even came down and met our fur babies and we chatted for quite a while; she told us the history of the home and how it came to be, which was so lovely! She messaged me back within 5 minutes each time I reached out to her. Valerie and Brendan are amazing! Overall: We didn't want to leave! This home also offers an expansive backyard area with space at the foot of a small deck and set of stairs. Parking is limited to the driveway as the owner stores their vehicles in the garage. There is a gas grill onsite that guests are welcome to use.

A full-size washer and dryer are upstairs conveniently located near the bedrooms and each private bedroom has it's own closet, with the exception of the twin bedroom which offers up a lovely workspace.

The Space:
Picturesque all-sports Miner Lake offers great swimming, fishing and boating. A hub for exploring the area, the house is located about 30 minutes from Kalamazoo, Holland, the Saugatuck "Art Coast", downtown Grand Rapids, and Lake Michigan beaches.

Outdoor Area
The home is in a quiet, residential neighborhood. The enormous deck gives way to views of the lake, with an outdoor dining area and large lounge seating area. Down a set of stairs, the large backyard leads you straight to the waterfront and private beach. There's a small sandy area for kids to play and the water is shallow enough to walk right in. You'll have full access to the dock (no motorized boats please), a swimming platform, fire pit, corn hole, a charcoal Weber grill, lifejackets and 2 kayaks with oars.

Inside the House
The house was renovated in 2022. It's cozy and simple, while offering everything you need for your stay. There are 2 living rooms - upstairs and downstairs. The upstairs living room has a dedicated work space (and WiFi of course) in case you need to work during your stay with a beautiful, tranquil view of the lake. This home does not have TV's so enjoy a board game, or friendly conversation with family and friends around the 6-person dining room table. The fully updated, modern bathroom has a walk in shower (no bathtub), lovely Turkish towels and toiletries. There are two bedrooms, each has a Queen size bed, reading lamps, ceiling fan, and closet space to unpack. A futon in the downstairs living room sleeps up to 2 additional people.

We like to cook, so the original open-plan kitchen has all the basics to make a tasty meal and a dishwasher for easy clean up. An Oxo 8-cup coffee machine and French press will help you start your morning. Please note there is no microwave. In the lower level, if you need to do laundry during your stay, there is an LG washer and dryer.

The house does not have a television, but it does have WiFi throughout if you want to stream something on your device. But why not have some traditional cottage fun? Please note: the dock and swim raft are seasonal and available from sometime in April and pulled out and stored for winter sometime in September.

The home is on a septic system so please flush only septic safe toilet paper (provided), and place nothing down the kitchen sink drain. The home is also on a well, so depending on your preferences you may want to bring your own drinking water.

During the colder months, the house is heated by electric baseboard heaters.

All reservations are covered by an insurance program. The cost of this protection has been included in your rental rate and fees and covers you for accidental damages during your stay.

We're ready for you! Our family of two tall and two small people has worked hard to prepare a brand new space for weary travelers to rest and be thankful.

This self-contained apartment has its own entrance and outdoor sitting area next to a terraced garden. Enjoy serene country vistas and watch for deer, turkey, hawks, songbirds, and cranes.

As of July 15, you can shop “The Fridge” farm stand, stocked with eggs, scones, and seasonal produce. Order ahead, and we’ll save a few scones for you!

The space
Our space has been planned for future use of elderly relatives as needed, so it is very nearly barrier free. There is one small step up into the apartment from a concrete pad at the entry, and a two inch step into the shower. Everything else is barrier free, and doorways are roomy.

Living space includes a fully equipped kitchenette with small appliances, fridge/freezer, and cooking range. This room also has a comfortable seating area which can be converted into additional sleeping space via an easy chair which doubles as a twin pullout and a futon couch which can fold down.

Bedroom includes a full size bed with tables and a chair, as well as a dresser.

One closet in the bedroom hall is fitted out as a laptop work station, the other has shelving for clothing. Laundry facilities are available in this hallway.

The bathroom is fully equipped and has a spacious walk-in shower.

We provide laundry detergent, basic cleaning supplies for your use as you choose, and shampoo/conditioner/body wash.

Our family lives in the other portion of the house, and we're a busy household, so we can't promise serenity and quiet all day every day.

The space
There's much to do in winter as well as summer. Bittersweet Ski Resort and Timber Ridge Ski area are within a 30 minute drive. Just 10 minutes away are the 19+ miles of cross country ski trails for all levels at the Allegan State Game Area. The city of Holland (20 min) offers snow free streets (they're HEATED) and cobblestone sidewalks with lots of shops, galleries and microbreweries. The Holland Aquatic Center offers several pools, a spa, sauna, lazy river and splash pool/slides for a very reasonable day rate year round. Saugatuck/Douglas area art galleries, dining and beaches are also just 20 minutes drive. Allegan is home to Friday night Rolling on the River concerts June-August. In Fennville you'll find great food, local wine and in season a spectacular wildflower meadow.

Or stay inside and enjoy being unplugged and cozy in the comfy, casual living area. Read a book, play a board game (we have several to choose from) or make your favorite recipe in the well appointed kitchen. There's an outdoor fire pit (wood provided) and small propane grill as well.

Other things to note
Please be aware the schoolhouse is located on a corner lot. There is a roadway quite close and although we've done our best to reduce road noise, there will be some. Thankfully traffic generally dies down early in the evening in this area.

The schoolhouse is not suitable for young children, ironically.

The schoolhouse isn't suited to anyone with difficulty with stairs as the bedroom is up a staircase.

Our home is located on 5 acres in the country with a private apartment in the basement!

The apartment has egress windows and plenty of natural light! It is fully furnished with all the essentials and can comfortably sleep 4 with the main bedroom (sleeps 2) and full-size sofa couch (sleeps 2).

We have a large back deck, patio furniture, fire pit, hot tub, and front porch area you can relax and enjoy! Our garage is a hot hangout spot with a TV, bar (alcohol not included), dartboard, and foosball as well!

We have two outdoor cats that have a cozy spot in the garage, so you may see them come and go! Please feel free to give them love and cuddles as you’d like.

Located on Lake Monterey golf course, this 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom Cabin is perfect for your boys golf trip or a weekend for the girls.

From your first step into our home you will be welcomed by the warmth of a not-so-traditional-log-cabin. Take a dip in the 8-person hot tub or enjoy your favorite movie on the 120" projector screen.

The space
There are two bedrooms on the main level with a Queen bed in each. These are connected by a full Jack-and-Jill bathroom. Off the hallway is a full bathroom with a clawfoot tub. Around the corner is the living room where we provide a fire’s worth of wood, to help you enjoy those cold nights. In the dining room is a 'Welcome Booklet' that will provide all of the information needed about the cabin. You may also find some treats on the buffet table to enjoy along with a charging station for your devices. The dining room table has seating for 8, with 3 more available to sit at the bar. There is additional seating on the backyard deck for 6.

At the back of the house is a 8-person hot tub - great for a post 18-hole day or to enjoy a glass of wine after spending the day shopping in Grand Rapids. Adjacent to the hot tub room is what we call the “library”, here you will find a piano and acoustic guitar for your playing pleasure.

Around the corner is a fully stocked kitchen which includes a coffee bar and Brita pitcher. Take your coffee out to the front porch and relax in one of our several rocking chairs.

As you take a step up to the second level, you will enter our “Ski Loft”. Here everything is reminiscent of the neighboring ski resort, Bittersweet. You will find an additional full bathroom with a shower/tub combo. All of our bathrooms are stocked with Shampoo and Conditioner.

Just off the bathroom is the primary bedroom. There are two King-sized beds in this room perfect for two couples. Off to the side is a desk and chair, incase you need to shoot off some emails between hands of cards.

Down the hall of the “Ski Loft” is a Full-sized bed as well as a futon incase you need additional sleeping space. To the back off the loft is the fourth bedroom, that houses both a Twin and a Queen bed. All of the rooms have a Roku TV, a personal fan (incase you are a hot sleeper) as well as luggage racks for your bags.

In the basement you will step into the “Golf Club”, where you will find 6 different arcade games ranging from Pac-Man to Golden Tee. There is a gym with a stationary bike and treadmill. Around the corner is a 120” projector screen where you can watch your favorite movies on stadium seating.

In the rear of the basement is a laundry room with two sets of stacked Whirlpool washers and dryers that are free for your use. You will find free-and-clear detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets on the shelves.

On the back deck is a propane BBQ grill and dining table. In the backyard you can enjoy a fire at the propane table with ample seating for your group. The backyard butts up to the Lake Monterey Golf Course, where in the winter, you can snowshoe and cross-country ski.

Throughout the house we have installed baby gates on the stairs and have a highchair and travel Pack 'n Play available. Please keep a watchful eye on little ones up in the "Ski Loft" and near the Hot Tub.
