They have sherry & port for sampling/tasting all evening, and have a nice tea time around 4 pm, with coffee, tea, and cookies. We really enjoyed our 2 nights, and will be back again. Walking distance to shopping (washington mall?), a number of restaurants, and we walked down to the beach/boardwalk, probably about 10 minutes away as well. Saturday afternoon we ended up walking into Carney's, across from the water, and stayed for hours due to happy hour specials & had a great time, for less :-) Live music, $5 crushes, mistakes may have been made. It was an amazing property, super clean, staff was so nice, and they set up so nicely in the home that I never had to call housekeeping or front desk once! Every house on the property had its own grill and little backyard and everything you would need for the beach, which is right across the street; they had umbrellas, beach chairs, everything!!. Everything you could need. The house itself was beautiful with really really cool early American and modern design! We had four people staying with us and the house never felt crowded. The bathroom is very small but if just need a space to shower and get cleaned up it was perfect. The entire apartment was also very very clean when we arrived! I hate to leave a mess so I actually even went and bought a broom to sweep up some of the sand all of the place. Really the only downside was no elevator (we were on the 3rd floor) but who doesn't need a little exercise every now and then. Building was also pretty secure. Passcodes to get onto the respective floors and then another code to get in to the apartment. Parking was a bit tricky, especially since we had to pick up trucks but we were fortunate to find parking right front and also utilized the parking lot just a few minutes on the corner. I don't have any complaints regarding our stay at Garfield Beach House. Affordable, clean, safe, dog friendly and only 2 blocks from the boardwalk. We will definitely be back! - "Had a family emergency over a week and a half before my stay was to happen. Tried to cancel with enough notice. CANT GET A HOLD OF ANYONE! Condo was clean for the most part except for the dish washer loaded with someone else’s dirty dishes. We also had no toilet paper (not even a roll on the holder) which I informed the front desk and was told, ‘I’ll bring it right up’. She did not bring it up. Elevator was also having issues. Me and my child were stuck inside for several minutes. After that experience we used the stairs the rest of our stay. This was my third time staying here. Your host, on-premises, is a Cape May native happy to share info on the best of Cape Island & its best-kept secrets. You are in a historic residential neighborhood. Within a few blocks, there are several excellent restaurants, artists' shops, a liquor store, a park, and a pharmacy.

The apartment has LIGHT & AIR from three directions. It is simply appointed with a full-size high-quality full-size (double) futon and frame, a comfortable high-backed, antique rocker, dresser, full-length mirror, and closet. With 350+ square feet inside, perched above the neighborhood with tree-lined streets, the space includes a gabled room that is the living/sleeping area with ceilings sloping to knee walls. The center of the gable room has 7' ceilings. In the shed dormers, there is a bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, and medicine cabinets (no tub, toilet in a 21" wide alcove), a dining room with table and chairs, and a small kitchen with 4-burner, apartment-sized gas range including oven and a small full-size refrigerator and freezer. The dormer has 7' ceilings. Guests also have shared use of reclining chairs in the side yard and the GARDEN PATIO in the rear yard. Patio has a table, chairs, an umbrella, and a garden with cooking herbs you are welcome to pick.

Two bedroom, two full bathrooms, living room, eat-in kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven (no cooktop). Close to the beautiful bay, less than 2 miles to Cape May and Wildwood Crest beaches. Great for two couples or a small family (no child under 3 yrs.) One adult must be 25 yrs of age to rent. Enjoy Cape May shopping, visit the Cape May Zoo or the Wildwood Boardwalk. Experience the best sunsets at the Jersey shore on the bay. SORRY NO PETS. Owner on premises.

The space
The front of our house is your private rental unit with your own entrance. We live on the premises in the back. The person making the reservation must stay on the property at all time.
There is an enclosed outdoor shower. Beach chairs and umbrella are available for your use.

Guest access
Parking for one car in the driveway. Street parking is available. Free street parking at the bay beach. Parking meters in Cape May. Self check-in. The key will be in a lock box on the front door. The access code will be sent to you before your arrival date.

Other things to note
A guest book will be available with information on local restaurants, super markets and a map of the area. Walking distance to WAWA, Dunkin Donuts and Mc Donalds. Cape May Winery and Turdo Winery are a 5 minute drive. There are also a few breweries. There is a new playground for kids that also has adult exercise equipment.
