Relax in the country in our quaint rustic cabin on a ranch. There are several restaurants and boutiques close by and walking trails. Cabin sits on a farm with mini-donkeys and several other farm animals.

It was a nice little cabin that was built in the 1800’s and is still being renovated. The area is remote and quiet. We had everything we needed, including daily visits by the owners dogs, who were very friendly. The owners stopped by to drop off an extra space heater because a cool front was coming in. They were very nice people and we had a good visit. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. "

- "This was exactly what we were looking for! No disappointment anywhere with this place. We will 100% come back." - "Loved it" - "Third time staying on this property. Middle of July during a heatwave it’s like the planet is getting radiation treatment to get rid of the cancer making it sick? Its nice to get away from everything for a few days. The outdoor shower and a trip to Diary Queen helped a little bit with the heat of the day. We also went to some estate and garage sales. One of which was super creepy. It was in a barn and I think the people were werewolves! There wasn’t much of anything for sale and they were cooking in a bunch crockpots, in the barn, when it was 106 outside. If not werewolves, then maybe a Walking Dead Terminus situation going on. I pushed the lady that had her OF site plastered all over her car into the barn people to create a distraction and got the h e double hockey sticks out of there. That was a close one. I didn’t want any part of what was in those crockpots. I also thought I might have to fight a cow. She looked very unhappy, standing by our car. Maybe they were just trying to lure people to a super fun barn dance? Who knows? It was probably just the heat though. All in all another good stay at this little cabin in the woods, it is our favorite place to go. Quiet, secluded, lovely little place. Oh and we saw rabbits, armadillos, and even a roadrunner!"

Situated in the pines of East Tx, come relax & disconnect in our newly renovated unique, cozy shed home. Star gaze & roast marshmallows around the fire pit, or grill.

You can fish, swim, & hike at lake Sam Rayburn (16 min), or Boykin Springs (20 min) inside the Angelina National Forest. The Neches & Angelina river are also minutes away.

2 Comfy beds, cast iron tub, 2 patios, fire pit, grill, propane heater, A/C, & quiet fridge. Great for 4 people.

The space
Newly renovated studio-style shed home with one full bed and one queen adjustable bed. Swivel 55" Roku tv and Samsung soundbar with bass. We also welcome long-term stays. The coffee table lifts to turn into a workstation, we have stable Wi-Fi, and plenty of clothing storage in drawers that are a part of the bed as well as the closet area. Laundry service available upon request.

Studio features a fully stocked kitchen with a quiet new fridge, microwave, blender, air fryer, Keurig coffee maker, and plenty of pots, pans, utensils, etc. If there is anything you might need, feel free to ask, we live right down the road.

There is a deep cast iron tub with a rainfall shower, LED defog mirror, and Bluetooth color-changing light for the ultimate bubble bath experience. We also provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash for men or women, and bubble bath.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire house and surrounding area. Forested areas are everywhere, but not recommended for guests because of the rough terrain and overgrowth. Best to stay in cleared areas.

There are several outdoor covered areas where smoking is permissible, as long as
the discarding of cigarettes is done safely. Please no smoking indoors.

Keep in mind this is in the woods; walk the trails & property at your own risk. There are rabbits, squirrels & birds but also snakes, spiders and coyotes that howl at night. Bring proper walking shoes for the woods. It can be muddy if its been raining.

When you turn off of 255 to the county road it will be a rocky\dirt road for about a mile. Veer to the right, you will pass a cemetery, keep going we are past that.

If there has been lots of rain sometimes the little bridge on 3840 is covered with water - Go back to 255, head east to the first right, then make the next main right and go straight past the cemetary. This will take you right into the property.

If you are looking for a place to fish or get out on the water, take a short drive to Lake Sam Rayburn , Martin Dies Jr. State Park . There are trails, fishing, hiking, boat rentals and swimming. Eat at some delightful local cafes and experience delicious southern style comfort food.

Currently there is no WiFi available but you can use your hot spot, cell phone service is good for all providers . Parking is available .

We are on a septic system so all food scraps must go in the trash.
Clean the kitchen counters, sink, top of the stove, and empty out the refrigerator of any food you have brought. Please wipe down the inside of the refrigerator. All trash in the kitchen and the bath needs to be removed from the house before you leave. No extra pillows or blankets. Do not overload washer. Pets: we only accept small dogs and only by pre-approval. No more than 1 pet. There’s a $45 pet fee.

The space
Our Chemically Sensitive cabin is nestled in between multiple National Forests in East Texas, this cozy modern rustic cottage has high ceilings with raw wood beams straight from the adjoining 20-acre “enchanted forest.” The smell of the natural fresh-cut wood radiates throughout the home and we use use all Fragrance Free/Least Toxic Products available.

Cottage amenities include a wood-burning fireplace, high quality furniture, mattresses, and cookware. One dedicated workspace, plus seating areas are provided throughout the three bedrooms right off of the main living area. Two full bathtubs available for soaking & relaxing, one in each bathroom.

There are two covered patios with seating areas, one on each side of the cottage. The covered patio facing the large backyard includes a patio fan, grill, and an outdoor dining area.

Organic & natural hand soap is placed throughout for your use. We refrain from the use of detergents such as Tide for sheets & towels for those who are sensitive to hormone disrupting fragrances. We do use organic non-toxic cleaners, hypo-allergenic soaps and detergents, and other various plant based (chemical free) products.

We invite you to enjoy the provided organic essential oil lavender pillow spray as you sink into a peaceful night of sleep.

It is rare to have **super fast and efficient WIFI** out in the country, but it is here! Awaiting your arrival for work & play.

Neches River access is on site and available for non-motorized water sports launching. Boat launch is only 8 miles from cottage :)

*NOTE: Please ensure your #of guests is accurate in your search bar. Our pricing is based on 4 guests. Guest 5&6 incur a slight increase for the large group nightly rate. This is done to make sure couples and groups of 4 receive the best pricing possible (rather than small groups being charged the same as larger groups)!

ORGANIC HOSTING: Those with sensitive skin, allergies to common toxic household chemicals, and who are consciously aware of the products they use in their own life will appreciate our organic non-toxic cleaners, hypo-allergenic soaps and detergents, and other various plant based (chemical free) products. (Note: Please bring your own preferred mosquito spray or deterrents that fit your needs for outdoor fun.) - Because of our focus on fragrance sensitive we ask that guests refrain from bringing/wearing cologne & perfume while in the cottage. Most are not aware but residue of Tide/Era/Ajax/All/Arm & Hammer and especially "scent boosters" are extremely harmful and stay on the furniture long after guests leave and we require extra cleaning/airing out time when guests bring this type of clothing to our property.

Access to entire cottage and oversized fenced/tree lined yard provided with this listing (Please reference the Welcome Manual Map and be respectful of the private areas neighboring the cottage). Your welcome manual will also provide directions to the host's private Neches River access which is a short walk down the private road from the cottage door.

Once at the river you have access to a beautiful river landing to lounge, fish, launch your kayak!
