Cute 640 sq ft. Furnished Cabin totally secluded and wildlife as well. Deer, hog, roadrunners, rabbit and many more have been spotted on the property. The covered porch is amazing for stargazing at night or for relaxing and enjoying the silence. The inside of the cabin is cozy and the perfect getaway. The outdoors has a large porch across the back to sit with your morning coffee and watch the wildlife or the kids playing in the fenced yard. There is also a BBQ/ S'mores pit and additional seating for dining outdoors. The Newly Restored Courthouse, State Park, lakes, museums, shopping, wineries, golfing and even skydiving are all nearby. The home sits in a quiet neighborhood yet it is just minutes from lakes and entertainment.

This Cajun bungalow is located at the edge of the city of Honey Grove. It is an old house that has been updated but still has its quirks which makes it comfortable and homey. The house is clean but has the look of shabby sheik on purpose. It’s like going to your country grandma’s house! It’s a very quiet and secluded area of the city at the edge of town. There is a covered carport. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.Cable and WiFi included.

The space
Safe Haven Retreat is 25 acres of Texas Woodland Prairie. The wind comes whistlin' down the plains from the Red River, and your energy comes up!

The skies are big and bright and perfect for AstroPhotography and StarGazing!

We have two ponds in the wet season, lots of woods to explore, and hidden swings to enjoy. We raised our nine children here and now have it set up for our 26 grandchildren. (And one coming December 2025!)

We have an organic garden, fruit and berry bushes, and chickens. It's a great place to get away. We hope you'll join us!

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This house has some really special features with high end beds for a great nights sleep. Huge big back yard with smokeless Firepit, Grill, Deck, desk work area with WI-FI and Roku TV access in 3 of the main rooms. It also has covered parking. We have preserved a lot of the original house Incorporated throughout this year long rebuild. and some more great antique shopping!

This is a beautiful country get away. Plenty of space to run around, ride horses, or have a fire and roast marshmallows. It is close to a charming small town with cute local shopping. Also very close to the Sulphur River where you can go fossil hunting, hiking, picnicing etc. Driving distance from Bonham State Park. Within a few miles of the Bois D'Arc Lake and we have plenty of room to park your boat or trailer during your stay.

With exposed brick, reclaimed wood walls, original tin ceilings, and a penny floor, this place is one of a kind! Nestled in the heart of the “sweetest town in Texas” spend your morning drinking coffee on the patio or eating breakfast at our repurposed Coca Cola cooler table and waking up to the sound of birds singing. 10 minutes from Bois d’Arc Lake!

The space
This cozy abode features one bedroom, one bathroom, walk in shower, living room with a sleeper sofa, kitchenette (equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and two burner hot plate, along with basic kitchen essentials: pots, pans, bowls, dishes, and silverware) and laundry area. Outside you will find a private back yard with a comfy seating area, propane grill, and 9 hole miniature golf course! This shady space is the perfect place to spend your evenings relaxing!

You will have the entire place to yourself along with the fenced in back yard and plenty of parking out front.

Other things to note
House rules: No smoking inside, no smoking outside. No pets. No loud parties. Please be courteous of the neighbors and please treat the items inside and outside of this home with respect. Please don’t rearrange the furniture. Please respect check out time and procedures.

Check out procedures - We do not charge a cleaning fee for your stay and therefore ask that at checkout you please take the following actions.

-Make sure all dishes have been washed and are either on the drying mat or have been put away.
-Remove trash bags from kitchen and bathroom trash cans and dispose of them in the garbage can outside.
-Turn off both AC/heat systems unless instructed otherwise (you will receive a message the morning of check out)
-Place one load of towels along with shower rug inside the washer with a Tide Pod and begin a cycle
-Leave bed linens on the beds they were used for
-Make sure all putters and golf balls have been returned to their shelves

Once you arrive you may not want to leave. This property is near Bois D’Arc Lake and it’s becoming the NEWEST Trophy Bass and Crappie Lake of North Texas. It’s 6 minutes to the South boat ramp. Two close lakes (10 miles) Coffee Mill Lake and Lake Crockett have a lot to offer, too. Bring your Kayak or Canoe to paddle around and have some family fun. Also, lots of spots to fish off the shoreline and docks.
The best part of this property is the choice of getting outside and exploring the property on or off the hiking trails. The second option (like rain days) is staying right here and enjoying the large barn with many things to do inside. It’s screened one side and enclosed on the other three.
It’s not like ANY OF THE OTHER places to rent. The owners bought this property for them to enjoy too. It’s the Love put into it that makes it Special.

When you arrive, you (and your accounted for number of guests) will access to THE LAZY PONY via our main gate. The Front gate code for the lock and the front door keypad will be provided the day you check in. You will have sole access to the 5-acre property while you are there. Explore and enjoy all it has to offer!!

Other things to note
“The LAZY PONY at the Barn” is near many N Tx lakes. Bois D’Arc Lake, Coffee Mill Lake and Lake Crockett have a lot to offer. Lots of spots to fish off the shoreline and docks. Bois d’arc Lake is large enough to ski or use jet skis. (16,600 acres). Smaller areas of the lake are great for Kayaking or using a Canoe.
