From the kitchen a wide hallway will take you to the side of the house that faces the beautiful pond. An elegant "formal" Colonial-style living room with fireplace wainscoting and a large Master Bedroom with gorgeous en-suite bathroom (including soaking tub and super size shower), walk-in closet and beautiful views of the pond, mountains and trees await. Additionally there's a powder room and a laundry room (if you feel so inclined to do laundry). On the second floor you'll find 4 more bedrooms (3 with Queen beds, 1 with twins) and 3 more bathrooms. All of the bedrooms, EXCEPT the twin bedroom upstairs, have AC through Mitsubishi Cooling/ Heating Units.

Her home is gorgeous, comfortably and beautifully furnished, and in an idyllic setting. The home was so well appointed and had everything you would need to spend time away from home. The linens and towels were high end and the kitchen contained all kinds of pots and pans in which to prepare meals. We were three generations staying at the house, and there was ample space for everyone. The little ones loved playing in the front yard. The family enjoyed kayaking in the pond, and we all found plenty to do in the area. There are so many wonderful places to explore, farmers markets galore, scenic hiking, and great restaurants nearby. A highlight was making a fire in the fire pit one evening, roasting s’mores, and gazing at the stars. We can’t wait to return! Thank you again, Daniela!"

The first floor offers a private master suite with a queen bed, walk-in closet, and master bathroom with jacuzzi soaking tub. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms. The first is the second master bedroom, with a king bed and sitting area. The remaining bedroom offers two queen beds. There are 2 1/2 baths - one full on the first floor, one full bath on the second, and a half bathroom off the kitchen. A flat screen Roku tv & DVD player are located in the loft with movies.
Brand new finished lower level room adds 600 square feet of additional living space! Ten foot ceiling, four built-in queen bunk beds sleep eight extra individuals in private compartments. Also, a twin bed. Huge 75" flat screen on the wall in the sitting area with XBox. 10'x8' quad glass door to allow for lots of natural light - it does not feel like a basement!

The home is very family friendly.

A newer 7-person hot tub has been recently installed on the brand new outdoor deck, steps from the front door. It has a waterfall, 50 jets, foot massagers, and underwater led lights. It is a high-end model with very efficient insulation, enabling us to keep it at a constant 100 degrees, even in the coldest winter weather. This means that you can come back from skiing or eating out, and hop right in! No waiting 2-3 hours for a typical hot tub to heat up to the right temperature.

Other amenities include: miles of trails out the front door for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Large firepit for lazy summer evenings under the stars.

- "Our property was close to the horse show grounds as well as dinner spots, grocery stores, and shopping. This house was AMAZING! It had everything we needed and more for sleeping, cooking, and relaxing. We needed a place to stay for the time we spent showing at VSF, which is less than 2 miles from the property. Making it extremely convenient to get to the barn early in the mornings and get back to do night check. This house is spacious and can accommodate a very large number of people. If your cooking theres an abundance of everything youll need! The basement is great, with a pool table, that converts to a ping pong table, and theres laundry facilities! Each room has window fans and plenty of blankets. The living room area is also great to spread out in. Theres a grill on the porch that is awesome, and plenty of parking! Our house is beautifully situated on 3 acres, top of a hill in a clearing. Large covered porch faces east across a meadow towards the Green Mountain National Forest and the notch carved by the Mad Tom Brook. The other side of the house has peaceful views into the forest and beautiful rock outcroppings. The property has been in the family since the 1940's, however this house is new, built in 2011 with modern comforts. The house has four bedrooms, and 2 full baths.

- "Great place to stay. Convenient to the horse show." - "We stayed here with our family of 7 adults and two young children. Despite the large group of people, this house was incredibly comfortable. The bedrooms were large and full of light. The main area was great for hanging out as we cooked in the very well stocked and designed kitchen. We managed to have a fire every night in the front yard and wish we had more time to utilize the fire pit in the back yard and the wood stove. Margaret was very attentive throughout our stay. There was a thunderstorm at one point and Margaret contacted me within minutes of the storm starting to let me know where the candles etc. were. A tree had fallen down at the bottom of the driveway and she had someone there to take care of it within hours of me notifying her. She was in touch throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable. Lastly, there are lots of great activities nearby - Mad Tom orchard, great hiking, Manchester for shopping and great restaurants, Dorset farmer's market. This was a dream Vermont vacation for us and we hope to return soon!"

The living area was comfortable. My only issues were with the bedrooms. I did not realize that one bedroom was through another. And I would have liked shades on all the bedroom windows. It gets light early in the summertime. I would definitely stay there again."

THE SPACE
When you enter the Hideaway, you'll be welcomed with a cozy mudroom equipped with mats for your shoes, plenty of hooks to hang your coats, storage cubes for your hats, gloves, ski/snowboard/hiking gear, as well as a ski and snowboard rack for easy storage.

On the first level, you'll find two bedrooms, a laundry room, a half bathroom, and a full bathroom.

Bedroom one features two twin beds with memory foam mattresses, two medium-firm pillows for each bed, as well as cozy blankets, so you can sleep comfortably all year long.

Bedroom two is the primary suite and features a king bed, with a top-of-the-line organic & non-toxic mattress, with a super comfortable pillow topper. Kick back with the cozy pillows and enjoy your favorite TV show or movie with the 50" Fire TV.

The ensuite full bathroom will feel like you're stepping into a spa. Enjoy a glass of wine/cup of tea and your favorite book while soaking in the relaxing tub. The beautiful slate floors, large vanity, and spacious shower complete this woodsy oasis.

The workspace is also found in this bedroom but is tucked away in its own alcove for privacy. There's a large window next to the desk that you can enjoy while working. We've also included a wifi extender to ensure speedy, disruption-free internet access – perfect for video conferencing and streaming.

Also on this floor, you'll find the half bath and full laundry room (with all the extra sheets, blankets, towels, and cleaning supplies you'll need). Laundry detergent, fabric softener, an iron and ironing board, as well as a drying rack are all provided.

Upstairs you'll be welcomed with tons of natural light from windows on every wall, high ceilings, wood beams, and open concept living. The fully equipped kitchen comes with a refrigerator and freezer (with an ice and filtered water dispenser!), a gas range, and all the amenities as if you were at home. We've included a Vitamix blender, waffle maker, slow cooker, and coffee/tea station so you truly can feel at home in this space.

Enjoy a game night or cozy up to watch up movie with our massive sectional sofa (which is also a sofa bed if you need extra sleeping!), board games, cards, and even yoga mats if you wanted to get a little workout in.

You'll also find the final full bathroom and two additional bedrooms each equipped with queen-sized memory foam mattresses, adjustable beds (great for reading), luggage racks, dressers, and their own closets.

And when you're ready to get some fresh air, enjoy mountain views from our large front deck. You can also dine al fresco in the warmer weather with the two picnic tables and gas grill.

The Hideaway is uniquely located just a quick 5-minute drive to downtown Manchester, 3 minutes from Bromley Mountain, 15 minutes to Stratton Mountain, and just 1/2 mile from the Appalachian Trail.

We've designed the Hideaway with all the things we appreciate having while traveling and we hope you feel at home as soon as you step inside.
Guest access
You'll have access to the entire home during your stay. This will include the front deck, both side yards! Each entrance is equipped with smart locks and you'll be provided a code prior to check-in.
Other things to note
1) In an effort to maintain a secure premise, the Hideaway is equipped with three exterior cameras. The cameras are ONLY on the exterior, and there are no cameras on the inside.

2) The Hideaway is on its own private dirt road and prone to winter weather like snow and ice. We recommend bringing a car with AWD and/or snow tires. Our road and driveway are maintained during the winter with regular plowing and sanding. Your walkways will also be shoveled when the driveway gets plowed. However, depending on how many cars you have in the driveway and when the plow arrives, you may need to dig your cars out. Shovels, sand, and salt will be on-site for your use – you can find salt and sand by each entrance.

3) Trash and recycling bins are located in the kitchen. If you would like to empty them during your stay, there are larger bins provided outside towards the back of the house. Trash and recycling are picked up weekly.

4) The Hideaway has its own septic system. As such, we kindly ask that you only flush toilet paper (please dispose of all other items in the trash bins located in each bathroom).

The main level offers an expansive open layout with two bedroom suites (one queen, one full) located off the living area. The space features a living room with panoramic mountain views, a cozy sitting area with smart TV, and a stunning two-sided fireplace. The top level floor includes two king bedroom suites with large closets and extra blankets. Also on this level, on the opposite side of the home, you'll find a private twin bedroom with sufficient closet space and a bathroom equipped with a tub/shower.

The lower level features a bunk bedroom that kids adore, along with a spacious king bedroom. A separate bathroom with a shower and laundry facilities are also available on this level. In the main area, you'll find a generous sitting space equipped with a big-screen smart TV, an Xbox, and a foosball table—ideal for relaxation and entertainment. Step outside, relax on the porch or in the hot tub while admiring the mountain views. In the summer, enjoy the private 27-foot round saltwater pool.

While we do maintain it regularly, it can occasionally malfunction due to factors beyond our control — which is why it’s not listed as an official amenity. You’re absolutely welcome to use it if it’s working during your stay, but please note that we can’t guarantee it will be hot or functioning properly. It quite literally has a mind of its own — hot one day, cold the next!

- "First of all the place is super clean, at the same time the host is so thoughtful that we can find whatever we need in the house: when we came back from ski we use the boots/glove dryer in the hall way, at nights when we went out and explore the mountain we found flashlights and hiking poles by our hand. Full set of kitchen appliance and the all-in-one washer/ dryer is easy to use. Central ac already works fine but every room still gets a separate heater. Tv has host’s Netflix logged in. Galina has been supper responsive and helpful before checking In and during our stay. Definitely recommend this place, especially if you are staying for more than one day so you can get the full experience."

Fifty years age a young doctor had the idea of converting a barn into a unique and charming ski house for him and his family. - "Great location, rustic stay, very Vermont - barn converted to a home. Just down the road is a gas station and General Store. 10 minutes to downtown Manchester, 45 minutes to Okemo, close to Stratton and Bromley too. Pet friendly. Master bedroom is surrounded by glass downstairs and a bit cold so make sure you know how to start a fireplace. Only concern worth mentioning is the tenant downstairs does not like the noise of footsteps, kids, etc in the evening and he will make it known! So if you are a group that stays up late on vacation, worth considering for both parties."

- "We had high hopes for this place, the all of the bedding and the couches had huge stains all over them. The owners market the property as a "high end," but we quickly found out that there were frayed wires in the walls, half the lights didn't have lightbulbs (or just didn't work), and it seemed that the owners got all the furnishings for free on Facebook Marketplace and didn't bother to check if they were clean and/or suitable use for a rental property. The mountain views are beautiful, but ultimately this property was a HUGE disappointment. We left a day early because we felt so uncomfortable at this property."

Our property lies in the Hollow, which is a six mile scenic loop with stunning views of Netop Mountain, Mount Aeolus, Owl’s Head and gorgeous farmhouses. This house is situated in the town where the Battenkill River forms. With its spectacular backdrop, the Battenkill is one of Vermont's best known rivers.

Our house has historic significance as the town's first General store. House provides a beautiful setting in this quaint town as we are surrounded by spectacular views of the Taconic and Green Mountains.

This old house has been recently renovated and lies directly across the street from the renowned Wilson House. In our home you will find informative pictures (photos taken in the late 1800's and early 1900's) and documents (i.e. original blue prints, store ledgers) that enlighten guests to the building's notable past.

Adding to the charm and authenticity/history of the General Store ‐ which at one time had its own train stop ‐ there will be the occasional train (Vermont Rail) coming through town a couple times a day.

Other things to note:
John will greet you with a warm welcome upon arrival; provide you with a space overview, discuss the area and local events, furnish you with a key, local maps and applicable literature for your stay.

East Dorset is a charming, quiet and old fashioned town that lends itself to hiking, biking, fishing, skiing or just plain relaxing. This pretty venue is sandwiched between the Taconic and Green Mountains and so offers impressive views.

The East Dorset General Store is just steps away from the house for snacks and supplies. Retail outlets, a variety of restaurants and serious theater are less than 10 minutes away. Bromley and Stratton ski resorts are in close proximity by just 20 and 30 minutes respectively from our location.

There are trails (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) in the immediate (and walkable) area.

Both Route 7A and Hiway 7 are conveniently accessed from this area. Historic Mad Tom Road takes you on a lovely scenic drive passing orchards, blueberry farms and otherwise beautiful local scenery.

However, you can also catch the locally run bus/vans that run between Rutland and Bennington. These vehicles stop at the East Dorset General Store.

Situated 6 miles from Manchester in the picturesque Dorset Hollow, the farmhouse is surrounded by green fields and streams. The house has five bedrooms had beautiful views of Netop and Owls Head Mountains. On the first floor are the living room, dining room with bay window seats, kitchen, half bath with laundry and a three-season porch. The second floor has a master with ensuite bath, two additional bedrooms and a second bath. Our third floor has two additional bedrooms.

Walking, biking and hiking are right out the front door. A short drive away are Bromley Mountain (15 min.), and Stratton (30 min) ski resorts. The Summer Festival Horseshow, Hildene (the Lincoln family home), and the Southern Vermont Art Center are within a 15-minute drive.

We want to welcome you to our Beautiful House in Manchester Center, VT. This property is located in a secluded area providing plenty of privacy, but at the same time it is a couple of minutes away to Manchester golf course and a country club, Bullhead Pond, which is great for fishing, less than 10 minutes to Emerald Lake State Park and Manchester shopping outlets. It is a short distance to Bromley (7 miles), Stratton (19 miles), Magic Mountain (17 miles), Okemo (30 miles).

The house has spacious 7-bedrooms, comfortably sleeping 18 people, 4 of which have their own full bathrooms (bedroom layout at the end).
A little bit about the property and the house. The house has plenty of space with all bedrooms fully stocked with fresh linens and towels. Bathrooms stocked with soap, toilet paper, and hair dryers. The main level has an open space layout. One side has a living room with huge windows and a gorgeous view of the mountains, a sitting area with cable tv, and a beautiful two-sided Fireplace (firewood provided). On the other side of the fireplace, we have a kitchen area with a kitchen island with four stools and a large dining table seating twelve. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances, pantry items, utensils, paper towels, and so on. There are two more tables in the screened deck outside the kitchen area with beautiful views of the mountains for outside dining. The lower level has a second sitting area with large TV and a foosball table.
Outside on the lower level, we have a porch where you can enjoy the mountains' view or cocktails with your friends in the large Hot Tub. During the summer you can enjoy a private 27-foot, round saltwater pool.
Strong Wifi is throughout the house. The property has plenty of space for any outside activities. You can play ball, barbeque, dine, or lunch outside under the gazebo or cook marshmallows in the firepit.
It is a perfect house for a family reunion, corporate retreat, or just a group of friends. Whether you are skiing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, hiking, or just simply enjoying the foliage - you will love your stay.

Guests enter through the Front Door which has a digital lock. Once inside, guest is given key to a second entrance closer to the garage/driveway. The mudroom leads directly into the kitchen and dining area. The main floor also includes a living room and 1/2 bath. There is a screened in porch accessed through a sliding door next to the dining area. Stairs take guests up to two bedrooms (each with a queen size bed) and full bath on the second floor. All private space.

Over looking the Battenkill our home is on a private road 10 minutes from Bromley, 20 minutes from Stratton and less than 5 min from Manchester outlets! We offer a perfect secluded spot! Perfect for the summer horse show!

Accommodates 6-8 people, with 3 bedrooms and a lower living room with a Futon and new sleeper sofa (12/19). In addition we just updated our AC to permanent units! (June 2020)

Our house has historic significance as the town's first General store. House provides a beautiful setting in this quaint town as we are surrounded by spectacular views of the Taconic and Green Mountains.

The space
This old house has been recently renovated and lies directly across the street from the renowned Wilson House. In our home you will find informative pictures (photos taken in the late 1800's and early 1900's) and documents (i.e. original blue prints, store ledgers) that enlighten guests to the building's notable past.

Adding to the charm and authenticity/history of the General Store ‐ which at one time had its own train stop ‐ there will be the occasional train (Vermont Rail) coming through town a couple times a day.

The space
An additional 'feature' of this property harkens back to its days as a train stop as well as a store. The Vermont Railway maintains its right of way running near the back of the building, occasionally offering guests the up-close experience of passing rail traffic, (particularly exciting for young children!)

The house, consists of two levels of living space, recently renovated, offering five spacious bedrooms holding a total of 10 beds and one full bath on each floor.
The space also boasts two kitchens and two large living rooms, (one on each floor), suitable for a large number of guests.

If you wish, the building can be partitioned into two separate living spaces to accommodate two families, or divide larger parties.

Upon your arrival, your host John will greet you with a friendly smile and provide you with a property overview and furnish you with your key. We are happy to furnish you with information and brochures about local attractions, (including the passing trains) as well as upcoming community events.

The space
The house sits on top of a mountain, with spectacular views from living and and dining rooms and a spacious deck on the second floor. Set up as a two-unit house, lower and upper, it offers the unique advantage of two separate units in the same building - enough room to hang out and socialize together (inside or around the fire pit outside), but also the opportunity to retreat to your own private space at the end of the day. Perfect for several families or accommodations after an event.

Each unit has a separate entrance, and the whole house can accommodate up to 14 guests (please reach out if you have more people - we may be able to accommodate more guests). Upper unit has 4 bedrooms (two with king size beds and several toddler beds, one with two queen beds, and one with two twin beds), 2 bathrooms (one with jacuzzi and another with a stand up shower, washer, and dryer), and a kitchen (with dishwasher). The lower unit has 2 bedrooms (one with queen size bed and another with two bunk beds, there is also queen size sofa bed in the living room), bathroom (with heated floors and towel warmer), and kitchen (with dishwasher and a washer/dryer combo unit).

The upper unit main level has an open floor plan comprised of a living room, dining area, and kitchen. (The main level also includes 3 bedrooms and the jacuzzi bathroom.) The living room and dining area are surrounded by floor to ceiling windows, which provide an abundance of natural light and great unobstructed views. Large comfortable sofas surround the wood burning stove, making it a perfect place to read, watch TV, play games or just relax. From the living room, there is an entrance to the deck with a stunning view of the valley. Stairs will take you to the top floor where you will find another bathroom and bedroom, with even more breathtaking views; there you will also find toys for kids.

The lower unit also offers an open floor plan, which includes a kitchen, living room, and dining area that can fit 20 guests. The living room and dining area are also surrounded by large windows, which provide natural light and great views. Comfortable leather sofas are set up across the wood burning stove, making it a cozy place for read, watch TV, play games, and relax. Kitchen is outfitted with stainless steel appliances and well equipped to meet all your cooking needs.

The backyard has a firepit, lots of seating space and tables. During summer, you will have the choice of indoor and outdoor dining. We also have outdoor toys and a trampoline in front of the house for kids.
