- "We had very good time in the house. We came for skiing, but the temperature and wind were so bad, that lifts were closed for almost two days. It didn’t stop us from spending time outside.We walked all the way down from the house to the ice rink following the wooded trail( it was groomed for snowmobiling). At the rink we borrowed ice skates and went skating. We went swimming in the pool in the clubhouse. The next day we went cross country skiing nearby. The house kept warm very well and the wood stove made it very cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable."

Our place is very accessible to: hiking, skiing, (Mt. Snow), kayaking, fishing, lake, biking, golfing and small town gems just down the road. Security Camera: We have 2 outdoor cameras on the front of the house pointing towards the driveway/rubbish bin and another pointing towards the wood shed. Considering this is a rental home and we are not there 24/7 these are for property security purposes. They also allow us to monitor heavy snow fall, maintenance workers, downed trees, and wildlife in the area, etc. Please be aware that there are NO cameras anywhere else on the property. We respect your privacy and take it very seriously. If you have any additional concerns or questions please just ask!

- "My family, my sister's family and our parents had a little mini reunion here to give our kids a taste of rural New England Summer. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, bunk bed loft, laundry at the barn, and walking paths. We ventured out to Dot's Restaurant, the Country Store, Starfire Bakery, and North Star Bowl for mini golf/candlepin bowling/arcade on a rainy day. We visited The Ledges, Harriman Resevoir, Pikes Falls and even explored a little of Brattleboro. The only two small negatives/things to be aware of are the kitchen is a bit small for a larger group and the clubhouse (and pools) is only open on the weekends until July 4th which we were disappointed to find out only a week before we arrived. We still had plenty to enjoy but it would have been nice to know that earlier in the process."

- "My husband and I rented Joe's house for a long weekend for our anniversary. We were looking for something different and had never been to VT before so figured we'd give it a try. We're SO glad we did! Joe's communication was A+ and his house is great. The pictures are very accurate which isn't always the case with rentals. One of the most important things I want to say is that I've never stayed at a place that is so well supplied and well equipped! From toilet paper to towels/facecloths to shampoo's etc...you name it and it was there and plenty of it. The bed we slept in was SO comfy, too! The property is great if you're traveling with anyone that has trouble with stairs as there is a bedroom and full bath on the main floor. The upstairs bathroom could use a little updating, but it was very clean and functional and that's what is most important to us so not a big deal whatsoever. The location of the house is great. You drive up some winding roads (some dirt) up the mountain to a wooded lot which seemed very secluded with all the trees even though there are neighbors. The large deck with the gas grill was perfect for making meals and a short drive into town are some great places to eat and shop. The three places we ate at were Dots, The Last Chair, and the Bullwheel at the summit of Mount Snow. I would highly recommend all three. The only complaint we had was that we wished we had more time! We will definitely be back!"

Two Queen guest bedrooms on the first floor share a marble bath with walk in shower and a second half bath. There's plenty to do, and the VRBO owner was always responsive and helpful. Where to buy fresh fish? I just texted and got my response. What's there to do for toddlers? Visit the natural museum. Located in the beautiful Chimney Hill neighborhood, our house is just a short drive to Mount Snow! Our house has 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms both with wood burning stoves, and sleeps 8 adults. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is seating for 8 at the dining room table (with 2 additional high top seats at the counter top bar).

On the main level, you will find the kitchen, dining area, living room, a bathroom and 1 bedroom with a queen sized bed (no closet available, as its in use as a locked owner's closet). Downstairs, you will find a full bathroom (with a full bathtub, as well as a washer and dryer), another living room and 3 bedrooms - 2 with queen beds and 1 with a twin over double bunk bed. The top bunk is only available for guests under 100 lbs.

The living room on the main level has a TV with cable, Netflix, a DVD player (with a selection of movies), and some board games. The downstairs living room has a TV with cable, Netflix, an Xbox and Nintendo Wii (with a selection of games). A big hit with kids of all ages!

The Chimney Hill community clubhouse is available for our guests' use during their stay - you'll have access to both an indoor heated and outdoor heated pool (summer only), an indoor hot tub, fitness center, kids play room/game room, a movie room and a BYOB bar/kitchen. Near the outdoor pool is a children’s playground. There are also an ice skating pond, a duck pond/fishing area, as well as basketball and tennis courts.

We are located within a short drive to Mount Snow, with world class skiing/riding, as well as a golf course and mountain biking. The Haystack trailhead is within walking distance to our house; no need to worry about parking!

Four wheel drive and good tires are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED in the winter and spring. The neighborhood is hilly and when conditions are snowy, icy or muddy, navigating the streets can be tricky.

Haystack Mountain Area

Haystack Mountain Hike:
Haystack Mountain offers a moderate hiking trail with fabulous views of the surrounding Green Mountains. The trail gains 1,025 feet in 2.1 miles and includes flat sections along a level ridge-line. Winter hiking here means fewer crowds, easier walking on packed snow, and no pesky mosquitoes. Dogs are welcome, so bring your furry friends along!

Trailhead directions: Turn off Route 9 in Wilmington and head into the Chimney Hill neighborhood. Follow GPS to Upper Dam Road where you’ll find the trailhead.

Chimney Hill has created a network of non-motorized wilderness trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

The Two-Hour Backcountry Tour takes you on an adventurous journey via Vermont State trail system. Please note that the meeting location has moved to 8570 VT9 Woodford, VT 05201, about 25 minutes southwest of the resort.

This is a great vacation home for all seasons. Conveniently located just 7 miles to excellent hiking, skiing and biking at Mt. Snow. 30 minutes to Stratton and about an hour to Okemo or Bromley. You are welcome to use our community ice skating rink (skates are available for use) and trails for snow shoeing. Our clubhouse has a great indoor and outdoor pool, as well as an indoor hot tub. The community is located on the VAST trails for easy snowmobiling access. These same trails are great for hiking and biking in the spring, summer and fall!
Downtown historic Wilmington is just a mile away with its charming shops and restaurants.
If you're a golfer, we are 1.5 miles to Hermitage Golf Club at Haystack and 5 miles to Mt. Snow's golf course.
In the summer take advantage of the local lakes and rivers.

Accommodations include
1st floor has a full bathroom and one bedroom with both a full and twin size bed.
2nd floor has a full bathroom, a bunk room with 3 sets of bunk beds and a bedroom with a king sized bed.
The basement is finished and includes a ping pong table and foosball table. There is also an additional full sized bed downstairs for extra sleeping space.
The kitchen has standard appliances as well as a crockpot and coffeepots for both full pots and K-Cups. There is a washer and dryer available for use. There is a pack and play as well as a toddler bed for little ones. There is a camera outside for security reasons only. Please ask if you have any questions or special requests.

In Chimney Hill, walking distance to the Clubhouse! This free standing home has everything you need to make the most out of your visit to the Green Mountains. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Our multi-floor layout allows families to spread out, but still be under the same roof. A fully equipped kitchen allows you to make breakfast before grabbing the first chair at Mount Snow (15 minute drive). Enjoy all of the Chimney Hill amenities: pool, hot tub, gym, ice skating!

The fireplace on the main floor has candles in it. These can be used by the renter, but the fireplace is not for burning wood.

Chimney Hill roads can be icy in the winter. It is strongly encouraged to have All-Wheel / 4-Wheel Drive with snow tires during the winter months.

Charming 3 bedroom cabin nestled in the woods at the top of Chimney Hill on Haystack Mountain, a 15 minute drive from Mt Snow Ski Resort, with a newly renovated kitchen. Our cabin offers a cozy living room with a pellet stove and sliding glass doors overlooking a private deck backing to forest. There's a work area with a desk for guests who need to work remotely while at the cabin. Guests enjoy access to Chimney Hill's Clubhouse (indoor pool, hot tub, outdoor heated pool, game room and fitness center), and a stocked fishing pond, ice skating rink, hiking and snowmobile trails.

Our cabin is located near the top of a mountain in the Chimney Hill area in Wilmington, Vermont. Chimney Hill is a unique family-centered community of private homes nestled on a wooded hillside bordered by the Green Mountain National Forest and surrounded by a four season recreational area.

Our Clubhouse is the social center of the community all year round, and it is about a half mile from our cabin. The clubhouse has an indoor pool and a hot tub, a heated outdoor pool during summer months, a game room with a pool table and arcade machines, a fitness room, and much more. Our renters have access to the Chimney Hill Clubhouse and all it offers. Also within the Chimney Hill community is a stocked fishing pond, outdoor ice skating rink and warming hut (skates available free of charge), hiking, snowshoeing, x-country and snowmobile trails with some homes having direct access to the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) trail system. Our cabin is a short walk from the entrance to the Haystack Trail.

Historic downtown Wilmington enjoys a beautiful natural setting and a close-knit community. The compact village center is full of independently owned shops, Inns and restaurants. We are surrounded by lakes, mountains, and forest, with miles of hiking trails (some accessible right from downtown). Wilmington celebrates farm-to-table culture, with many local restaurants offering the best of the bounty of the land. Local boutiques round out a selection of gifts, homewares and clothing including specialty stores such as Quaigh Designs, Incurable Romantic, The Vermont Bowl Company and the Norton Quilt House.

There’s a lot of heart in this home, and 4 generations now in our family have been enjoying it over the past 30+ years. We hope you enjoy your stay in Wilmington and at the cabin as much as we do!
