Baker and sunsets that could mirror those of the Hawaiian islands. With direct seasonaloceanfront access from the house, enjoy sounds and smells from the Puget Sound, passing ships, orca whales, blue heron and bald eagles flying overhead. Relax inside or outside on the large deck which overlooks Sucia, Matia, Patos and Orcas Islands.

The main house offers two bedrooms (one with a king bed, the other a queen bed), a bathroom with a large walk-in shower, kitchen, living and dining room areas. The living room offers a large flat screen TV and plenty of comfortable seating. The house has large windows that overlook the outdoor deck and ocean so you never get to miss the view.

UNAVAILABLE DECEMBER 1, 2024 to END of JANUARY 2025 are the two additional bedrooms (one king one queen beds and a ¾ bath) are located in the detached garage, just steps away from the main house for a more privacy for the kids or a second family. Due to the kings tide and flooding each of the last two winters, we've deemed it necessary to shut these rooms down as we are out of area during this time and won't be able to monitor the status of the detached rooms

Enjoy walking up and down the beach, turning over rocks and looking for crabs, two single person kayaks and bicycles as well as a number of day trip activities. Birch Bay, Lynden and Ferndale are all in close proximity for a day trip if you are looking to get out of the house. There are also many farms that you can go to and buy fresh produce, fruit, artisan cheese and fish. Don’t forget your passport as the Canadian Border is also just a short trip away.

The three bedrooms each have quality, comfortable queen size beds with luxury hotel-style cotton sheets. The master bathroom has a shower and the main bathroom a tub/shower combo. Fresh towels are provided.

Our best effort is made to sanitize high touch areas including kitchen, bathrooms and fixtures which are disinfected against the spread of Covid 19 during cleaning. However, Covid 19 is highly contagious and we can not provide a guarantee against our guests contracting it at our property. Please do not come to the property if you are at all unwell prior to your booking.

Enjoyed paddling and kayaking each evening, watching bald eagles, osprey, terns, and a plethora of birds, and playing games in front of the fire pit in the evenings. The outdoor shower is magical to rinse off in after each water adventure! We ended up making most of our meals here instead of eating out as it had every kitchen tool, pot, pan and dish that we needed to create amazing food from the Farmer’s market and local stores. There is also a bbq on the deck that we did not use, but appears to be available. The home was sparkling clean, modern and airy, while feeling like a comfortable and cozy place to gather with friends and family. We have had stayed in several places in and around Bellingham, and this has become our favorite one! Truly hope that we are able to return and stay here on our future visits to Bellingham."

Bring your boat and launch at the Marina minutes away and come home to relax in the evenings instead of trying to find dock space or a buoy in the busy summer months. Many good walking beaches nearby.

Eagle watching: the road from the house to the casino follows the Red River, you can often spot bald eagles in the trees next to the road. Sometimes the eagles harass the ducks that are on the golf course in front of the house. Makes for a front row seat to see bald eagles in their natural habitat.

If the timing is right, and we are not working or out of town, we would be happy to stock the house before your arrival, if you provide a grocery, beer, wine or alcohol list.
