Located along the Russian River between Guerneville and Healdsberg, this home will allow you to get away from it all while being close to all the things you want to do. Walking distance to Mother's Beach. Just about two miles from the nearest wineries and a short drive to Healdsberg or Guerneville.

With two bedrooms and two baths the home is ideal for two couples but will sleep 6 comfortably, 4 in two queen sized beds and 2 on a fold out air mattress sofa or 2 in a daybed with trundle located in the master (best for kids). We are limited by the county to 6 guest.

There is a gourmet kitchen with electric appliances including a dishwasher that is well stocked enough you can cook Thanksgiving dinner.

We have a 6 person hot tub on the deck under the redwoods and stars at night.

Internet/Wifi is strong and was clocked at 258Mbs with Mesh Router that reaches the far ends of the deck.

Please note there is a small owners unit on site below the house you are staying in and it is occupied at the will of the owner, has a completely separate entrance and will not intrude upon your experience or privacy above. Also there is no central air conditioning but nights are usually cool and we do provide fans. We do have a Nest Cam that covers the parking area

In the event that due to circumstances beyond either of our controls (fire/pandemic/etc.) and we are not able to host you due to county or state orders, we will fully refund your stay per the VRBO agreement if you are inside the cancellation window. If it is too close to your stay, we will refund the cleaning fee and 1/2 of your stay. We will hold the other half as a credit towards a future stay of your choice when the home is available.

In the heart of the Russian River Wine Valley -The Attic at the Red Chateau is located on the top floor of an old river cottage with a private entrance. Upon entry, you feel as if you have stepped into a charming tree-house in the woods. With over 600 square feet (plus a generous sized sun deck) ) , and modern amenities, the space boasts unique angles, interesting design, many windows with views of the forest and waterfall including beautiful old “running glass” rounded windows. Highest speed internet. Although not a chateau and no longer red, the name has remained since 1929. The space invites you to curl up in the corner window seat with a book or sip wine in the sitting area in front of the stove for cozy winter relaxation. For those warmer months there is a private deck and a trail close by that leads you to a sandy beach on the Russian River where swimming, kayaking and sunbathing are popular– about a 7-10 minute walk through Steelhead Beach State Park and lazy river raft - inflate your raft at the park. The sound of birds flapping their wings as they fly overhead is one of the only sounds you'll hear. Inside, enjoy the mid-century architecture and a collection of ever-evolving modern and folk art.

The cabin is our family getaway, our absolute favorite spot, and we offer it to guests just ten times a year. The architecturally striking cabin, the prettiest one in the area, is close to great wineries, restaurants, spas, and hiking. Just as importantly - it's not in the flood zone nor the fire zone.

We know this cabin is more expensive than some others in the area, and it doesn't disappoint. You'll find comfortable mid-century furniture with plenty of modern touches. The grounds are landscaped and bouquets of locally grown fresh flowers are inside. The kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry areas are fully stocked, from spices and butter to detergents and soap, and plenty of paper products. Lots of extras are included - kindling and almond firewood, charcoal for the BBQ, beer & soft drinks in the fridge, ice cream in the freezer, and retro coffee service with a Chemex pourover.

We manage the cabin ourselves and it's a passion project for us. Every detail is meticulously cared for - from the gardens to the linens. We take the time to get it picture perfect, inside and out, for our guests. We've hosted anniversaries, milestone birthdays, and several honeymoons and wedding parties.

Please inquire if you want to bring a pet. We occasionally allow a well-behaved dog, never puppies or other animals. All stays with pets need to be approved with the owner prior to booking.

We don't take back to back bookings.

The two new redwood decks add another 1200 feet of outside space for you to enjoy. On the shade-filled side deck, fern fronds quietly unfold. It's wonderfully diverse. On the one hand, you might see wild turkeys meandering down our road, and there's a Michelin starred restaurant in Forestville, too. We're happy to recommend our favorite haunts - many close-by and fabulous wineries and restaurants for you to visit during your stay.

The cabin finally has internet as of July 2023, thanks to Starlink's new technology for rural areas - relying on 4,000 small satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). It's still a rural cabin with plenty of giant redwood tree obstructions, but cell phone service and internet are now available. Starlink has plans to add another 8,000 LEO satellites, so we expect internet service to become more robust over time.

This home has been recently remodeled and furnished by an interior designer and features 16' sliding doors opening to front and covered back decks for truly indoor/outdoor living and is a serene, relaxing home with a leaning to Asian aesthetics. The primary bedroom, with queen bed, opens to the back deck and the master bath features a large shower with two shower heads. The guest bedroom has two twin beds and the guest bath has a tub/shower combo. Not suitable for handicap access due to steep interior stairs. Maximum stay: 4 nights. No children under the age of 5 years. No pets including service animals due to severe allergies. Exterior camera at entrance. Central heating and a fireplace keeps guests warm in cooler months. Sit on the front deck in the morning sun, enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the birds in the redwoods!

Owner, at times, stays in separate downstairs unit that has its own entrance. You will not even know they are there unless there is something you need! Maximum privacy for guests in main house!

- "This is such a beautiful property nestled in a resort area well off the main roads. It's absolutely quiet at night and relaxing. While it's quite the drive down a single lane road that is not the smoothest, it's worth the drive. In the evenings, the plum tree out front attracted deer from the area forest, so we had great wildlife sightings each time we came back. We used this as a base for some wine tasting, which is a bit of a hike to get to, but it was great to come back in the evenings to get away from the towns of Sonoma. Basha was a great host and had excellent winery recommendations!"

Enter the house by way of the living room, where you'll find a comfortable sofa, a flatscreen TV, and a collection of books and board games to enjoy. To the other side of the living space is an open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a prep island with bar stools for four, and a dining room table with seats for four more.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Faeya Grove is 4 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: There is parking for 2 cars in the main driveway – in front of the house – and an additional car in the side driveway. Both driveways are gravel lined. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: Master bedroom: Queen bed, Second bedroom: 2 Twin beds.

Heat Source: Each room has electric baseboard heaters plus a woodstove in the living room (no firewood or kindling provided).

Location: Faeya Grove is located in a residential neighborhood with narrow and steep, in sections, roads. You do not need 4WD, but please slow for blind turns and oncoming traffic.

Stairs: There is one flight of stairs from the parking area in the driveway to the front door and areas of hillside and some stairs in the yard.

Fencing: The main yard is fully fenced.

Seasonal Amenities: The hammock chairs are only available in fair weather and may be put away for the winter.

Common Amenities not included: This home does not have Air Conditioning, but under the trees you won’t miss it.

Proximity to wineries: The closest winery is Moshin Vineyards, approx. 3 miles from the house. There are many tasting rooms within 10 minutes of Faeya Grove.

Nearest River Beach: Mother’s Beach is the nearest public river beach approx. 0.6 miles (3 minutes) by car.

Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches in Jenner are the closest to the house at 19 miles.

- "The house was in a beautiful redwood grove and had all the amenities we needed and more. It was beautifully updated with new appliances and furnishings. Our only small complaint was even though the skylights were beautiful and it was magical looking up in to the redwoods…the light coming through at sunrise was a little too early on vacation. Maybe some kind of retractable shades or something… Other than that it was a great place to stay."
