They try really hard to make you feel comfy and they do it well. They are also aware that you obviously need some space so they were not overwhelming. I really enjoyed my stay. The House. We call it a Cottage but it’s really a full house, with two bedrooms, two baths, gourmet kitchen, private garden and hot tub. It’s a great place to share with friends, family, or just that someone special!

Bastide was designed to take advantage of the unique landscape of this property and similar to old style French houses it has exposed wood beams, high ceilings and dormer windows to bring in the exquisite light.

BASTIDE DU LAVANDIN:
Bastide has a generous open grand room with 18 foot cathedral ceilings with dormer windows providing light throughout the main room. The modern gourmet kitchen with spacious island, extensive dining room and living room area all mesh together - the perfect place to hang out. All the kitchen appliances are brand new and the island is large enough for a cooking demonstration for your group. Ample cabinet and pantry space leads to the separate laundry room, which has a full sized stand up washer and dryer for your use.

The furniture is contemporary Restoration Hardware designed furniture, which provides a farm house style feel.
Both bedrooms, which are on the same side of the house, have a queen-sized bed and the large windows provide great light into each of them. The master bedroom has a large walk in closet and each bathroom has its own walk in shower. (The master also has an outdoor shower for your enjoyment).

With a large stone clad gas fireplace and living area that opens through French doors to the outside area, the space is perfect inside/outside experience. The house has AC throughout.

There is a large Flat screen TV above the fireplace with Netflix access and high speed Wifi as well.

On the back patio, there is a large dining table which seats 8. Nearby is a 3-burner Weber Genesis propane grill for your grilling pleasure. The back area is dominated by the view of a combination hot tub & swimming pool. The pool is mid 70s in the summer but is "refreshing" the rest of the year. Eg NOT heated. At one end of the pool are 2 lounge chairs to tan on and on the other end is a poolside fire pit for your evening enjoyment with your family and friends.
Just past the pool is the lawn area that is perfect for a game of cornhole! And in the distance is a view of the south end of the Mayacama range separating Sonoma and Napa Valley.
The house sits hidden behind a gated entrance and large oak trees providing privacy from the road. At the end of the meandering driveway is a flat parking area, which has parking for up to 3 cars.

There is an alarm clock w USB charging capability in each bedroom and a multiple USB charging station in the pantry room.

PLEASE NOTE:
Pets would compete with squirrels and native birds (we have beautiful bluebirds and hawks) so pets are not allowed. We do have jackrabbits running around on the property and an occasional deer or even coyote!

This house was built for a relaxing adult experience so WE DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN. (There is a firepit, slippery tiles around the hot tub, that would be a risk.) Families should be aware that the pool is NOT gated NOR HEATED.

EVENTS are not allowed on the property (eg weddings, etc)

No smoking is allowed inside or outside the house.

Our owners contract that we ask you to sign before using the house has a waiver of liability.

The home guide in the house contains a list of fabulous local menus/interesting things to do in the area. Please leave it for the next guests enjoyment as well.

To rent Bastide you must be at least 25 years old and able to provide a photo id upon request.

Property Fee listed on the website is for $1,000 of damage insurance which is less expensive than that charged by this hosting website.

OUR LOCATION:
Located just 45 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge it is within easy striking distance to San Francisco. It is about 1 and 1/2 hours from either the SF or Oakland Airport (depending on traffic), and only 45 minutes from the Santa Rosa Regional Airport.

Bastide du Lavandin is in a great location and provides easy access to both Sonoma and Napa wineries and activities. Carneros is the closest wine region to SF and 2nd oldest center of wine production in CA, spanning both Sonoma and Napa counties. We are just 8 minutes from Sonoma Square and about 14 minutes from downtown Napa.

We are located just minutes from a diverse offering of wines at distinguished wineries such as Gunlauch Bundshau (Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay), Domaine Carneros (Champagne) , and acclaimed Patz and Hall (Pinot/Chardonnay). - "As stated, before in other reviews the pictures of this cabin do not do it justice. The kitchen is massive for a cabin, there's 3 rooms leading to patios through French doors, the upstairs loft provides a space for meditation and yoga. The land itself is beautiful and it's quiet, it was easy to access and there was a role out bed. The host was amazing, I left a pair of shoes that I bought from a boutique in Napa and the Phyllis mailed them back to me. The space
THE SPACE - You will be staying on a historic family homestead along one of the first stagecoach routes which ran from the East into Sonoma in the 1850’s. Centrally located in the famed Sonoma Valley viticulture region, you’ll have access to myriad wonders, right at your back door! Located at the junction of Napa Road and the Carneros Highway 12/121 you'll have easy access to the historic Sonoma Square (5½ miles), downtown Napa (9 miles), and dozens of world class wineries and tasting rooms - including two of the oldest wineries in the state!

The Bunkhouse, originally built in the 1850’s, expanded in the 1980’s, is a quirky private residence on Ramona Nicholson's Ranch, where afternoon twilight shines through the southern exposed windows and patio door onto native rough-hewn wall paneling and the terra cotta Saltillo tiled floor. Rustic and richly golden tongue-in-groove knotty pine vaulted ceilings built by the patriarch of the family compose the structure above you. The gentle night breeze will relax you into a deep slumber upon rich bed linens in the upper loft.

Cook in the well-stocked kitchen inside or on the gas grill out on the multi-tiered patio. The kitchen comes equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee pot, salt, pepper, sugar, cooking oil and an assortment of spices. Eat at the counter or the 4th generation family table. A comfy sleeper couch and chair face the wall mounted TV.

The space
Beautifully and lovingly renovated mid century modern home, detached yoga studio and beautifully furnished decor. Our home is meticulously maintained to provide a pristine, peaceful experience. A modern oasis to greet and inspire you to relax and just 'be'. Walk to The Plaza, grocery, hospital, shops and restaurants.

OUR LIVING PHILOSOPHY: We try to be very responsible when it comes to protecting ourselves and the earth. Our home is a "shoes at the door" experience. Therefore we do ask that our guests remove their shoes while in the house. We are adamant believers in composting/recycling and we do everything we can to save water. Our home Nest thermostat will sense when you are away and shut off. It will then sense when you come into the house and turn back on. It works quickly and "cranking" it up will not make it heat or cool faster. It does not run during the night. We have replaced most of the interior light fixtures with ceiling fans and installed a ceiling fan in the outdoor pergola. Our kitchen garden is available for guest harvesting and is complete with organic fruits, vegetables and herbs.

A/C: If you are use to using air conditioning constantly, our home will not be a comfortable fit for you. The A/C (and heat) is on a smart thermostat that senses when you are out of the house or sleeping, and will shut off. Our a/c unit is sized to "assist" the inside temperature, not cool it down several degrees. Sonoma has "valley" weather meaning that it may be warm during the day, but will cool down 30-40 degrees in the evening. This is when the night air is helpful to cool the house with the windows open. The house won't cool down unless the windows are open during the evening hours. Please contact us if you'd like further detail and explanation.

SECURITY CAMERAS: they are on the exterior of the house for added safety and comfort, and are an additional benefit and amenity. Please know that the cameras do not point at your living space so your privacy is not compromised. Also, note there are no interior security cameras.

To add to our environmental thoughtfulness, we use a smart thermostat. This is preset to reduce use at night and when you leave the house for any extended periods of time. We are walking distance to Endiku Winery, Ceja Winery, Homewood Winery, Lou's Lunchette, and Hanson's Vodka. We have a small organic farm off the beaten path. The unit is upstairs above the garage, and it is very private.
We have some wonderful birdwatching opportunities. On our farm we see herons, egrets, quail, redtail hawks, owls, quail, and many small birds.

It is above the garage so there is a 360 of the surrounding farms and vineyards. At night, when it is clear, you can see all the way to the East Bay. It is an upstairs unit.
We offer self-check-in and check-out.
We have some farm animals on the property, mostly sheep, chickens, and one rooster. We supply earplugs.
Occasionally, we have one family camping in the backyard but this will not affect you at all.

In addition to the apartment, our guests have access to the grounds, front porch, and multiple seating areas. Visiting the farm animals is encouraged.

Our super cozy Sonoma studio nestled on a twelve acre parcel has a welcoming living area, a comfortable king size bed, kitchen, and a recently refreshed bathroom. Self check in for privacy and social distancing. Home is cleaned and disinfected for 24 hours between guests, including all surfaces, sheets, towels, bedspreads, etc. This studio is a perfect wine country retreat, located about 4.4 miles from Sonoma Square, 3.7 miles to Glen Ellen, and surrounded by a multitude of wineries.

The studio has been recently refreshed with new hardwood floors and new paint throughout. This open space studio includes a king size bed, living room area, kitchen, AC & heat. Kitchen includes, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee cups, glasses, and coffee machine.
Guest access:
The driveway gate will most likely be open. If not, please open the gate manually. Drive down the long driveway and you will see an Airstream to the left. The studio is to the right of the airstream and is nestled next to the main house. It has its own separate entrance and is private.
Location
The studio is on a 12 acre parcel and private but still really close to Route 12, the main road in Sonoma. Uber, Lyft, and taxis are readily available. We are located on the border of Sonoma and Glen Ellen in an area called Valley of the Moon. This is the starting point of wineries from Sonoma to Glen Ellen to Kenwood and all the way up to Russian River, and Healdsburg.

Important details:
1) We can never accommodate more than 2 guests per stay at any given time. The violation penalties are set at its maximum and though we would hate to exercise this, we will if put in the position
2) In the Covid-19 climate, there will be no accommodations for early check-in/ late check out.
3) We are in the country. Expect to see many 0-8 legged friends, like snakes, lizards, spiders, etc. If you are skittish about this, our cottage is not right for you.
4) DO NOT leave heat or AC on while you are out.
5) We love animals. We cannot host your pets. We have our 2 dogs on the property and will be in our own space and backyard
6) Please note that the studio is next to the main house. My husband and I do live in the main house and you may hear our pups every so often from the backyard.
7) The studio is not kid friendly.

This is an upstairs spare queen bedroom with dedicated but separate full bathroom. The bedroom is down the hallway. You are free to utilize common areas, pool and hot tub. We have coffee, tea and cereal. This rental is unavailable weekends, Feb thru Oct.

You get more than just a room! You can use the common areas including ping pong, pool and hot tub! There is coffee available.

We are on site and can help you with anything you may need and also give you recommendations on local activities and wine touring.

Other things to note
Quiet, friendly very safe neighborhood. There is a Seven 11 a few blocks away (a short walk) for anything needed or a quick bite to eat. We have a basket of typical toiletries that you may need, from a sewing kit and deoderants and soaps and linens.

There is an open field across the street so more room for parking.

This cool and secluded airbnb is at the end of a quiet country lane in the Valley of the Moon town of Boyes Hot Springs. The rooms are separate from the main part of the house and reached through a private entrance. Consisting of two bedrooms and a bath, it is a sweet , quiet getaway from the noise of the City.

The private spaces consists of two bedrooms with new comfortable queen sized beds. The Casita is fitted with a kitchenette (no stove) and refrigerator for brewing morning coffee, light breakfast and cold drinks. The private bath has a walk in shower.
