I had a couple of questions while I was there, and received my answers within 5 minutes. Water pressure was great. This house is a 1940's home with wide plank floors. The furnishings are a blending of modern and beach vibe uncluttered with ceiling to floor curtains with blinds throughout.
The stove in the kitchen is a wedgewood and is original to the home. There are two bedrooms both have in window air conditioning for our warmer times of the year as well as the living room.

The back yard is fenced and has green turf. The yard is a modest oasis with lounge seating with a fountain as well as additional seating. There are succulents and flowers growing in flower boxes and the tomatoes growing in a horse trough may be ready to harvest as well as an herb box.

We offer guests a very clean, cozy guesthouse with comfortable queen-size beds, a separate office & lounge area where you can work or unwind and listen to the fun collection of vinyl records, a full kitchen (best suited for light cooking), a relaxing outdoor space in the private backyard (the perfect place for enjoying your coffee or a glass of wine), and a light-filled bathroom that features a spacious, modern farmhouse brick tiled shower.

We have a small, specialty cut flower farm on our 2 1/2 acre property, Cake Flower Farm (www.cakeflowerfarm.com). We use organic growing practices and currently have an assortment of flowers planted, such as garden roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, peonies, bearded iris, heirloom chrysanthemums and heirloom pumpkins. We also have beehives on site, as well as a small flock of very cute chickens. Although, the guesthouse area is private, there will be times when we will be running the tractor out in the flower field or you may see us in our beekeeper suits checking on the honeybees.

- "We enjoyed our two-month stay in the Garden Flat at the Cakeflower Farm. The location is convenient to both Sebastopol and Santa Rosa and has easy access to HW 101 and the coast. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen very well-equipped. The unit was exceptionally well cleaned and easy to care for during our stay. The large windows, higher ceilings, garden patio and office area add a feeling of spaciousness we didn’t expect just from the photos on the web. We especially enjoyed the long views from the living room and kitchen including beautiful sunrises and sunsets, horses and goats next door, chickens free-ranging outside the patio's fencing, and the distant mountains to the west. So much fun to see the wide variety of birds that visit the patio's backyard. The hosts were very pleasant and responsive to any questions we had but were always respectful of our privacy. The location doesn’t feel remote but is far enough removed from busy highways and intrusive lights to encourage a relaxing stay. We hope we can return when the gardens are in full bloom. We enjoyed them even in November and December."

This casita is steps away from the vineyard on two sides. Watch the sunrise over the vineyard every morning with your coffee. - "My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The location was excellent for us in regards to family we were visiting. Oakmont is an active adult senior community, so being over 65, we fit in nicely. (OK, truth be told, we're in our 70's :-) ) Pickleball and golf were available and nearby (2 minutes), as was the Safeway grocery store (about 10 min). The house is spacious and had everything we needed including a very comfortable king bed in the master bedroom and a garage for our car. The pictures provided in the VRBO ad seem to be accurate and give you a very good idea of what the house looks like and the decor. The house is near the 2nd green of the executive golf course, but no balls came anywhere near the yard or house. You may see a deer or two or some wild turkeys roaming the neighborhood, so have your camera ready. Carolyn was an excellent hostess and the communication between us was also excellent. I hope to return again, assuming the people reading this review don't book it themselves during the times I need it in the future. :-)"

- "Was not familiar with Santa Rosa so just hoped it was in a good neighborhood. It turned out to be in a great area of beautiful, well kept homes. A few things were walkable (a grocery store) but we had a car. Everything went super smooth and the three of us (man, wife, adult daughter) were completely comfortable here. And it was so cute too! It does allow pets so there is a slight dog odor, but we're animal lovers so we didn't mind at all. Only noticed it upon entering, but not after a while."

THE SPACE
- This is a COUNTRY property but close to city amenities, guests will enjoy the best of both worlds; privacy, serenity, and all the city of Santa Rosa has to offer nearby.

- The home is on a large private property and is behind a private gate with coded access, down a private road with deeded access. We ask our guests to please drive slowly once entering the gate as they will need to drive through the neighbor’s adjoining property. NO walking on or recreating on this road is allowed. We do not own this road and it is considered trespassing and may result in the guests being asked to leave without a refund.

- Relax by the gorgeous pool, take a soak in the hot tub, and soak up the sun on the expansive deck while listening to the year-round babbling creek below. In the evening cuddle up on the couch in front of the electric fireplace and watch the colorful flames dance. Watch a movie on the oversized smart TV. Or Star Gaze just outside on the deck in a place that feels worlds away from the city lights and enjoys all that nature has to offer. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

- The private road is ONLY to be used for entering and exiting the property by automobile. Absolutely NO walking or recreating on the private road. The road is strictly used to enter and exit the property by vehicle. Guests may only use the road by vehicle to enter and exit the property. Guests may be asked to leave immediately without a refund if they access this road on foot or to recreated.

- The County of Sonoma mandates strictly enforced daily quiet hours for all vacation rental properties of 9pm-8am daily. If we receive complaints during this time you may be asked to leave immediately without a refund.

- Guests may not enter surrounding neighbors properties. Guests may be asked to leave with out a refund if they are discovered to have trespassed on surrounding properties.

- Access is through a deeded private gate and private road through the adjoining neighbor's property. Guests MUST drive through slowly when entering and exiting.

However, I feel it's important to mention a couple of issues that future renters should be aware of. During our stay, the property manager expressed a desire to show the house to potential tenants when I was occupying it. While I understand the need for this, it felt like a breach of privacy, and I would suggest that future guests check in with the host about this beforehand. Another significant concern was the condition of the driveway, which is completely torn up. Unfortunately, this caused damage to the front bumper of my car. I reached out to the hosts regarding compensation or assistance with the repairs, but they refused to take responsibility. This was disappointing and impacted my overall experience. Additionally, I found the master shower a bit uncomfortable. The water sprays directly into your face, and the lack of a detachable showerhead made it challenging to manage the water flow without making a mess. The rooms are large and well designed. The living room is very comfortable - backstairs lead to a shared backyard with plenty of seating and a nice table. This is the upstairs unit of two unit building located right down the street from Railroad Square and the SMART station.

The space also has an private interior stairway that exits to the street. Please be advised that you may hear other guests staying at the unit below. The space has two large bedrooms - a water closet ( just a toilet) - a shower - a living room- kitchen - there is no washing machine.

We ask everyone to be aware that quiet hours must be observed between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

The unit is private but has a shared backyard with outdoor patio furniture. The space also comes with one-off street parking space.

We live in the neighborhood and will help if we can with your visit.

The West End Neighborhood is a wonderful place to take a walk and explore. The area has a wide range of people that use the area. At times parking can be tight. The neighborhood has some real great restaurants and bars. Being able to walk to these downtown attractions is a major plus. This is one of the most urban areas of Sonoma County if you are looking for a country property this is not it. If you are looking for a safe place to is close to everything this is it.

The SMART train is two blocks away. Very close to Hwy. 101 and Hwy 12. Very close to lots a bike trails.

This home is located in Downtown Santa Rosa not a vineyard. You may hear other guests below at the downstair space. This is a 30 day rental.

The bedroom is fully furnished with a murphy bed and comfortable queen mattress. A large window brings in plenty of light where you may sit and enjoy the sunshine while working from the desk or lying in bed watching television. There is a dresser inside a full size closet for all your personal belongings, and a one cup coffee station with small fridge. A well lit bathroom is outside the bedroom with sink, toilet and shower. This is a family home with 1 dog, 1 child, sharing common spaces.

We have made up the bedroom and bathroom to give you that same hotel experience. Television with apps, HBO, Netflix, Prime etc. The bed and bath are downstairs. We also reside in the home and try to make our guests as comfortable as we can. You will have your own coffee maker for one cup of coffee in your bedroom. You will have access to our full kitchen where you may shop for your food, and prepare your own meals. You may use our living room and dining room and our washer and dryer upstairs (please purchase your own laundry detergent for your stay and use). We have a golden retriever and 2 yr old child.

The entrance is access to the entire house. This is not a private entrance. The bedroom and bathroom are first doors to your left. You will be given a code before check-in that will be used to unlock and lock the door. There is a camera at the entrance outside the home. The bedroom and bathroom are also downstairs. The rest of the residents have bedrooms upstairs.

Other things to note
We also work from home Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm. We are also early risers to feed our dog and child. We may not see you as we go about our day in the home. Please call our attention if you would like to meet us. We ask that you are cautious of noise levels in the home during work hours as this is the time meetings occur during the day. We also ask that evening quiet hours are respected starting at 9pm-8am.

We exclusively host for longer stays of a month or longer.

The house is a huge old Victorian with quite a lot of history and personality. We were once a social house but, given current circumstances, no parties or events are permitted.

The space
This listing is for an upstairs bedroom located in our large and historic Victorian home.

It comes complete with a full size bed, private closet, first aid kit, personal microwave, and mini fridge. The space is perfect for an individual or couple who are in town to see the sights or someone who’s looking to hunker down and study their life away.

Each room is cleaned fully and wiped down with alcohol before each guest comes in. As we clean, we’re sure to wear fresh masks and clean gloves as well as ventilate the room as much as possible, so as to reduce the risk of any cross contamination. Any surface which is likely to be a point of frequent contact, such as light switches or doorknobs, is thoroughly cleansed with alcohol. The mattresses have waterproof mattress covers on them, which are also wiped down with a rubbing alcohol spray. Common areas of the house are also equipped with automatic hand sanitizer stations which are available for everyone. We’re keeping up to date on CDC recommendations and embracing and incorporating any and all changes that are called for in order to keep our guests safe and we welcome your feedback if there’s something you think we could be doing better.

We do require our guests to be vaccinated for the safety of everyone in the household. Thank you for understanding.

If you’re looking for something to do on your own, there is no shortage of possibilities with this convenient location. We are across the street from a grocery store and the cheapest gas in town and a mere 3 minute drive from every major freeway in the area. It’s a 5 minute walk to downtown Santa Rosa, which offers food, shopping, and movies as well as the infamous Russian River brewery.

As we adjust to the new reality that is our Covid lifestyle, we’ve reduced the amount of shared space within the house and equipped each bedroom with its own private amenities, such as individual kitchenettes, in order to reduce the risk of exposure and protect our guests to the best of our ability.

Use of the downstairs kitchen and laundry room are available, but we prefer if our guests schedule time with us before use.

We are available to interact as much or as little as each guest prefers, all in accordance with CDC guidelines of course.

I generally am available for questions and issues, I live on site as well and like to get to know guests whom are traveling through, while also giving enough space for privacy. It's a large home with a few other guests and travelers already staying as well.

Some rooms include rear parking, and for longer stays, we can explore a residential permit for more convenience.

Guest access
During your stay as a guest, you will enjoy complimentary access to various amenities, including the laundry room, kitchen, living room, patio, both shared bathrooms, and, naturally, your own room. The driveway has space for one car per tenant, and there are supplementary parking options available in the vicinity and on the street. Additionally, high-speed WiFi is provided as part of the rental package.

The swimming pools are open seasonly (May- Early Sept).

The laundry room is accessible 24/7 and located immediately outside of the front door to the home.

During your stay
We don’t live on-site but are just a short drive away and available by phone if you need assistance.

Please note that periodic upgrades and maintenance may occur to keep the space in top condition. We’ll schedule these with minimal disruption and appreciate your understanding.

Other things to note
This charming home does not have air conditioning but offers efficient central heating for cooler months. Portable fans are provided for warmer days. To stay comfortable, open windows in the evening for a breeze and close them in the morning to keep the space cool. We’re sure you’ll find it cozy and inviting year-round!

Our dedicated cleaning team provides complimentary monthly cleanings for the shared areas.

Every guest is equipped with a personal key to secure their bedroom, ensuring privacy. While we offer the essential starting provisions for your initial settlement, each tenant is responsible for replenishing consumable items like toilet paper, paper towels, cooking oil, spices, laundry detergent, dish soap, and bath soaps as they are depleted.

We also ask the tenants to take the trash cans out to the curb on Monday mornings and bring them back in when they have been picked up.

Across the street, there is an elementary school that sees increased street activity during pick-up and drop-off times.

It is part of Sonoma County with hundreds of wineries, restaurants, and lots of acres of picturesque landscape to explore. You will be close to hwy 101, SMART train station for commuting, to both the high school and middle school, Sonoma State University, and shopping. The home has wood floors throughout the house, closets designed by California closets. The home is designed for indoor/outdoor living with sliding doors off the kitchen, and living room. The gourmet kitchen includes beautiful cabinetry, island. The home is Green Built and Energy Star Certified. Enjoy the large community park just a couple blocks away, Green music center with indoor and outdoor concerts, Sprekels community theatre, golf, HoneyBee outdoor swimming pool all close by. All the wineries you would like to see are in any direction you like 10 to 40 minutes drive depending on which you are interested in. Or see the beauty of the location and not drink. There are several beaches to choose from 30 to 50 Min away like: Dillon Beach at the mouth of Bodega Bay and Tomales Bay. It's a 30 to 35 min drive.
