The neighborhood was very walkable with interesting bungalows, large trees and nice gardens. I would definitely recommend staying here. "

The cottage is a private Wine Country Guesthouse for two, not attached to the main house. It's easy to get to Santa Rosa's downtown, the Sonoma coast, the Redwoods, the Fairgrounds and many outstanding wineries. There is a kitchenette with a full refrigerator. TV. There is Internet, Heating and Air Conditioning.

The space
This is a private, non-smoking environment meant for comfort and pleasure. The Studio accommodates two people easily. There is a king-sized bed, dining area with table and chairs, and full bathroom. There is a kitchenette with full refrigerator, two-burner gas cooktop, and a microwave. It's located downtown but in natural beauty, minutes away from many wonderful attractions including world-class wineries, excellent and varied restaurants. Internet. No pets are allowed. The gardens have many and varied attractions, depending on whether privacy is needed or not. There are several fruit trees with bird feeders nearby for small birds and hummingbirds. There is a patio with a lovely marble top table for dining or sitting outside. Lounge chairs are located in the yard. There is a small pond with a waterfall to transport you far away.

The guests will have access to everything in the guest house and the yard, outside of the main house. This includes the gardens, patio table, hammock, lawn chairs, etc. There will not be access to the main house, however.

Guests have a private entrance off of the courtyard by the main house. Guests are free to enjoy the courtyard with a pear and fig tree and a couple of Adirondack chairs and a small table.

In the 167 square foot studio you will find a very comfortable queen size bed. Bedsheets and pillows are provided during your stay. Nightstand has a built in outlet to plug in small appliances next to the bed. There is a dresser with plenty of drawers to store your things. There is also a drawer under the bed for any additional storage.

The studio features a coffee table that doubles as a dining table when lifting the top up. Perfect for enjoying a meal while watching tv or working on a laptop or using as a writing surface. The Television is a smart tv that’s already connected to the Wi-Fi. Guests only need to sign in to their streaming accounts to enjoy Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Kitchenette is stocked with a fridge, microwave, hot plate, and toaster oven.
Plates, cups and silverware are also provided. Coffee machine is a Kurig. Upon check-in, the hosts will provide you with a small selection of teas and coffee pods to get you started for your stay as well as a roll of paper towels. If you are in need of any further groceries, the hosts are more than happy to help stock the kitchen for a small fee in addition to the grocery bill.

Bathroom includes a vanity with a sink and plenty of storage, a shower and a small selection of toiletries and toilet paper for your personal use. Several towels are also provided for you during your stay.

We have street parking for our guests for 1 vehicle. Please park along the sidewalk directly in front of the house. If you would like to have daytime guests during your stay, you are permitted 1 guest per day per the City of Santa Rosa. Quiet times are 9pm to 8am. Outdoor amplified noise is not permitted.

Once you enter the courtyard of the main house, look to your left and you will see the entrance to the private studio guest house with a digital lock for access.

The owners communicate with guests mostly through the AirBnB app (providing the access code and instructions before check-in, special requests, etc.). If you havnt already done so, the owners recommend you download the app asap to help make your check-in process smoother. If you do not want/can't download the app, please notify the owners and they will plan accordingly.

We live at the end of the road, adjacent to an undisturbed green belt. It is quiet and peaceful at the Cottage. We want you to feel at home and will gladly give you time to rest and relax. We hope you will enjoy what we have created for your pleasure. At times we may be in the garden or at the BBQ grill and welcome conversation if it is your desire to visit with us. Be assured we are taking extra care to make you feel at home. This place is a great staycation destination. It has fast Wi-Fi and a Roku TV with a comfortable workstation. We have birdfeeders and bird baths on the property. Being adjacent to the green space, you may see wild and domestic roaming animals such as deer and raccoons occasionally cross our property.

You will have full private use of the cottage and full use of the patio area. We may also be in the quiet outside areas at times. We are nestled in the heart of Bennett Valley, between the Pacific Ocean, Calistoga Spas and the Sonoma wine country. You can enjoy beautiful views of Bennett peak, Taylor Mt and Sonoma Ridge from the patio. All three are world famous for their hiking/biking/running trails. We are close to the Sonoma County Airport and the Gratton Rancho Rio casino. Your door code will be delivered to you by message the day before you arrive.

Other things to note
Our city boasts, a vibrant culture with art galleries, music venues and local Farm to table cuisine. The cottage is located around the corner from the Whole Foods shopping center where are you can find Mexican food, Asian food, sandwiches, coffee and donuts, get your haircut. Or buy shoes and your groceries. The cottage is in front of an undisturbed Greenbelt. There is free street parking in front of our house. The Cottage is behind our house through the carport. Walk into the backyard and you will see the Cottage waiting for you ready to lull you to sleep or sit and relax with a glass of wine. Wine tasting, beer drinking, walking, running, biking, boating, paddle boarding, fine dinning, music, fun and festivities are all at your fingertips! Sonoma County offers it all! If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to knock on our door or text us. Quaint downtown and Historic Railroad Square Santa Rosa are just six short blocks away, featuring fine restaurants, the world-famous Russian River Brewery, theaters and more.

The Cozy B&B -
The unit is newer, constructed in 1968 on the site of the original horse carriage house. (Point of reference: The Ford Model T was introduced in 1909 -- two years after the main house was built.)

All-new paint, laminate flooring, bathroom remodel, and curtains in October 2013 make for a comfortable, clean and fresh escape. Bonus! -- all-new dual-pane windows as of August 2023. Sweet!

We killed our television years ago. We hope you enjoy a TV-free experience. (Many guests bring laptops for streaming video.) We provide a nice quality AM/FM/BlueTooth radio for your enjoyment. WiFi is light-speed fast fiber.

Guests are afforded exclusive use of a full no-cost laundry room with washer, dryer and set-tub. An iron and ironing board await in the apartment closet, for those crisp wedding dresses and shirts. You'll enjoy a private enclosed patio/garden, and plenty of close by on-street parking. Your private yard is separated from the main house by a 6' fence for privacy.

Beverages in the pantry include: drip coffee (locally roasted beans & grinder and instant), locally-produced tea, and cocoa. You'll also find an assortment of dry cereals and instant oatmeal. In the fridge you'll find chilled rice milk. Breakfast is generally sufficient for your first morning. For stays longer than two nights, we recommend a visit to a local market for breakfast fixings, or eat out at one of the many fine cafes in the neighborhood.

$$$$$$ Pricing -

Ours is a 2-bedroom unit, but we don't ding you if you only use one room. Hence our base price is based on 1-2 people, with a $25 per person increase for 3 or more guests. Our rates do not vary by season so you will not get any surprises when you book. Add to that the $50 cleaning fee and the AirBNB fee (up to 12%), and you have your total.

Cleaning during extended stays -

For stays of longer than 7 days, we will enter the apartment to conduct a cleaning and linen change each week. This is not optional and will be coordinated with you for a convenient time.

Tucked away on a half acre of private gardens, guests can enjoy bocce ball and horseshoes, sit by a small koi pond, and enjoy exploring the garden and five tiki huts. In the evening, while sitting under the stars and towering palms. Fresh eggs are available for breakfast with a small chicken coop . The studio's patio offers a bistro table and chairs and use of the gas grill BBQ. The studio boasts a queen size bed. Many fabulous restaurants are just minutes away. Towels and spa robes are provided. Cable television and wifi in the studio, no phone.

Other things to note
I have lived here for 32 years. As my daughters grew, I have changed the landscaping a few times.
When they got into volleyball, I made a full size court. Then soccer followed, so I put in a 4000ft lawn. Swimming following that , so I installed a pool.
My brother builds custom homes in Oahu and wanted me to move there and run the landscaping part, but with young daughters then and now, grandchildren , I wasn’t moving.
After both daughters moving out I decided to create my own tropical feeling, so once again ,the yard was changed. We really enjoy having parties and friends over , it’s worked out very well for that!!! Rick
