If I had anything to critique, it would be that the material of their robes are too thin/flimsy for my taste. This home is located directly across the street from the nationally known Vinoce/Twenty Rows Winery which is solely owned and operated by the Nuss Family who is famous for their Mt. Veeder wine.

This 1885 Victorian house is on the local Napa list for historical homes and has been in the process of historical preservation/renovation for the past 15 years.

Room #2 will be your room during your stay. Located on the first floor of our home, it is the only bedroom located on that floor. Just steps away is an onyx tiled bathroom with a bathtub and a handheld shower head. It contains a double bed which sleeps two comfortably and antique furnishings. The room has both decorative and stained glass windows and includes your own private closet.

The first floor of this home contains two fireplaces, one in the dining room and the other in the parlor, a Struss Chandelier, an antique dining room table and breakfront cabinet from the Graeser Winery, a hand carved wooden door with wood cuts displaying the Renaissance era of wine-making techniques, and other art pieces. A stained glass mural is above the dining room fireplace hearth which is illuminated by interior "hidden" lighting behind it.

The flooring is exotic hand-laid tiger wood with each piece of wood measured and specifically chosen for its individual unique "tiger-stripped" design and length to be placed on the floor as a single plank.

There is a secluded front patio covered by passion vines and a shelter. In this secluded area are comfortable chairs and a patio table.

Radiators are used for heating. Lower level radiators are thermostat controlled. Upper level radiators are independently controlled.
Water comes from a well on the property. It is filtered and UV treated. It is drinkable.
The water treatment setup in the garage requires addition of salt every 2 months, which we will do ourselves.
The local utility, PG&E, shuts off power, sometimes with minimal notice to reduce wild fire risk. These shutoffs can last several hours to several days depending on wind and weather conditions.

Other things to note
Electricity charges larger 150$ per month will be your responsibility. We will inform you weekly via Airbnb messaging of your electricity consumption.
Charges for clearing clogged drains and damages resulting from overflows will be your responsibility.
The 400$ cleaning fee applies to 30 day stays.

Prepare favorite foods in the kitchen fully stocked with all the gadgets you might need - including a convection cooktop, a coffee maker, and microwave. Take in lovely views from the kitchen windows, or have appetizers at the kitchen bar with seating for three. When it’s time for dinner, call your crew to the eight-person dining table for a family-style feast.

Budding Vine is one of five bedrooms in the historical mansion with NO TV. It is a Queen bed with a full bath with a separate shower. There is a closet as well as a small bureau. The room hosts a spacious two person soaking tub, gas fireplace that is your source of heat, a seating area, and windows that overlook First Street. A second window next to the bed overlooks the side garden.

The space
The property sits on .33 acres with the historic mansion with 5 bedrooms upstairs and a dining/piano room downstairs. Outside the historic mansion is a patio for outdoor dining and enjoyment. Behind the historic mansion is a separate building with 5 larger suites, each with a private entrance. The 3 lower suites have a private enclosed patio deck, and the 2 upper suites have a private balcony with an extra large seating area in the room. Between the two buildings is the center garden where there is a communal fire pit to enjoy.

Important Note: THERE ARE NO TELEVISIONS ON THE PROPERTY AND NONE IN THE ROOMS.

Every room has a private bathroom, a 2-person bubble bath tub, separate shower, and either a single Queen or King bed. Every room has its own coffee maker, iron, and ironing board. A mini iPad serves as your alarm clock. The historic mansion rooms have access to a small refrigerator in the downstairs piano room. The garden suite rooms have a small refrigerator en suite.

We provide a small bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival. Breakfast is included with the price of your room daily. We accommodate dietary restrictions and ask for that information before arrival. The breakfast is a single hot entree (same for everyone) that changes daily. You might want to view the breakfast photos on The Inn On First website as we don't do traditional breakfast items, and bacon and sausage is not part of what we serve traditionally.

There is free parking on the street, as well as a parking lot with 8 spaces on the back side of the property via Clay Street.

Historic downtown Napa is walking distance from the inn. Shops and restaurants begin on 1st Street 4 blocks away (5 minute walk) and continue up to and past Main Street (15 minute walk). The Oxbow Public Market is an 18-minute walk from the inn, and there are 26+ tasting rooms all within walking distance of the inn.

Other things to note
The owners live on site with their two dogs which are outside in the yard periodically, though never unattended. Again, there is NO SMOKING on the property and there are NO TELEVISIONS in any of the rooms or on the property. We do provide free WiFi with internet access.
