At our Getaway, you can relax in a private Mediterranean-style patio--your own “safe, secure, and secluded” retreat: from your room you will see—and hear!-- nothing but trees. You can take a walk or jog through the oaks and redwoods--a great path to the 173-acre Fitch Mountain Nature Preserve (called “Healdsburg’s Jewel”) actually starts right outside your front door. You can swim/kayak in the Russian River (5-minute walk below your patio)…or drive/Lyft/Uber to Healdsburg’s historic, colorful Plaza, shops, restaurants, & tasting rooms. Now, to be clear, don’t expect to be “right on the Plaza”; we’re a beautiful oasis in the country. But the Healdsburg Plaza is just a quick 3.1-mile, 9-minute drive away! (Sure, Fitch Mountain Road is a bit narrow and curvy in places--it hugs the river!--, but drive slowly and enjoy its “vacation-cottage landscape.” And yes, there is an uphill curve just before our home, but think “charming hill town in Italy”!)
We have only one guest room and bath--and it really is almost a separate, private cottage (attached to the house, but totally insulated from it: a 200 sq.ft room + bathroom & 200 sq.ft. patio), with its own private entry and parking. And you’ll appreciate our “it couldn’t be easier” check-in: everything will be ready for you—just walk right in! Our objective is to give you an enjoyable stay, right from the moment you check in, and you’re our only guest. And we’re “on-site hosts,” ready to give you whatever you need.
When you arrive, you will be greeted with a glass of wine (do you like red or white?) and an array of tasty snacks. But wait!--that is just the beginning. Being the ONLY TRUE B&B in the Healdsburg area, we serve you a multi-course, gourmet, home-made breakfast (we invite you to factor that breakfast-for-two into the price of a stay here), with a lengthy menu of delicious selections, and a choice of times (crack of dawn or sleep in?), delivered to your door. (We are, very unfortunately, unable to accommodate vegan, but restaurants in town can.) Our guests love our unique offerings! Fitch Mountain is known for its interesting local history, eclectic building styles, beautiful views, secluded neighborhoods, and friendly spirit.

Step out your door, and a five-minute walk below our B&B is the Russian River, at our brand-new Del Rio Woods community park, where you can launch your canoe/kayak, or just picnic at the tables there (beach blanket and chairs are under your bed, as well as a “picnic pack” with everything you’ll need) and watch everyone float by. We can email you complete information on kayaking/canoeing opportunities and rental services.

Or head up our road: it quickly becomes a popular walking and biking path right in the midst of the forest, and it continues on an easy ascent to the top of Fitch Mountain (all 981 feet of it!), which is now a Nature Preserve. This is paradise for walkers, hikers, joggers, and cyclists. Nearby, and stretching to the coast, are a host of city, county, and state parks of every size and description. We can email you complete information on popular walking trails--including a fascinating one to the Healdsburg Ridge Park, which you can access from your room.
We can also send you a list of local bicycle rental shops and what they each offer. Just ask.

Wine-tasting is just minutes away. You might start with a few of Healdsburg’s 34 (!) tasting-rooms right downtown, or just head for the wineries themselves. Among the winery-filled areas, in 8 to 30 minutes you will be at famous wineries in Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, and Sonoma Valley. We are truly in the heart of the Sonoma County Wine Country! Kathryn owned her own winery, and Dave worked 30 years in the Napa-Sonoma wine industry (he now works in the Italian wine industry), and we will be happy to share our knowledge with you. And more. You might want to head into downtown Healdsburg for a great meal in one of our many prized restaurants (the list we sent you). Healdsburg and nearby towns boast rich programs of year-round wine events (every month!); jazz and musical events; art galleries and shows; famous running and cycling competitions (e.g., Amgen race and Grand Fondo, and the Fitch Mountain foot race); river races and festivals; craft beer shows (Sonoma County has 22 craft brewers), cheese-making, cannabis-raising (now legal!), a Farmers Market (Saturday mornings, 9-12; Tuesdays, 4-6pm, May-Nov); and a multitude of farms that supply the best restaurants in Northern California. Healdsburg’s public golf course is 5 minutes down the road. We will provide you with lots of maps & tourism materials.

This charming one bedroom suite known as the Bunkhouse at Side Road Farm was built in 1949. The property sits on over three acres of land that once was an old horse ranch. However, today it is the home of Side Road Farm. We are a farm specializing in fruits and vegetables along with a small flock of chickens including a rooster. We are in walking distance to 3 wineries. Your hosts live on the property with their black lab, Suzy . We are available if needed to help with your stay.

The bunkhouse is 592 square feet consisting of the bedroom with vaulted ceilings and hardwood flooring, queen "Casper" bed, walk in closet. Living room has a "Smart TV", couch and table and chairs with a kitchen nook that includes a mini refrigerator/freezer, microwave and Keurig coffeemaker. Bathroom has a stall shower with sink with large counter and toilet. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and hair dryer provided. Outdoor seating area for your enjoyment.

Our little slice of Alexander Valley & Healdsburg heaven is located in northern Sonoma County, CA, just 1 mile off Hwy 101. Our town is written up in many travel magazines, and we can certainly help you take advantage and make the most of your Healdsburg vacation stay.
Whether you spend your days wine tasting or in the redwoods, or perhaps biking or kayaking, for an authentic wine country experience, we are the perfect get-away. Our recently remodeled studio guest house of 576 ft2 offers a wrap-around secluded double patio and gas grill, giving you the option of grilling in (or head to downtown Healdsburg for some local award-winning dining, of course). Use the upper patio for coffee or wine- your choice! Staying longer in wine country just became an option!

We are happy to welcome visitors for a long weekend, and in addition, due to the large size of this studio guest house, we can easily accommodate guests wishing to stay longer. In-studio washer and dryer, outdoor spaces and sunset wine patio all make this accommodation one you’ll want to linger in. One queen bed, with a fold-down couch can accommodate 3 adults.

Our guest house welcomes bicyclists to our world-class Alexander Valley, with rides out the front door taking you up Pine Flat Road and The Geysers Road. Reviewed on Strava, pjammcyling, and Bestrides, if you are a serious cyclist, these are the ones to tackle. For the recreational biker, a leisurely ride around Red Winery Road or West Dry Creek Road may be just the adventure level you are looking for.
Relish your bottle of wine on the private terrace under the persimmon tree, while enjoying views to the north of Black Mountain in Alexander Valley, and east to Mt. St. Helena in Napa. As a country/farm experience, if so moved, you can give treats to our friendly goats, Ivy, Renegade, Adeline, Coffee, and Lilly (and their kids in Spring 2025) through the fence, check out the French Marans chickens, and relax to the sound of the flock clucking. Our property has a flourishing garden and orchard available for your sampling pleasure when the veggies and fruits are in season.
The wine grapes you see behind the goat pastures are Zinfandel, and are under contract to a local winery.
Might you hear coyotes at night? Yep. Sheep lowing across the street? Maybe. Ivy and goats wanting treats? Probably. Roosters early in the morning? No—the brand new French doors and windows are great at blocking noise! We have a noise machine for those sensitive to country noises, so we’ve got the bases covered.

NOTES: This is a 5.5 acre, working country farmette, so please understand that there are potential noises that go along with the charming lifestyle!

Due to this being a working farm, Airbnb has allowed me to be exempt, so NO pets/service animals are allowed in order to ensure everyone's safety, including your animal, my farm animals, and my large flock guardian dogs. Thanks for understanding and keeping everyone's animals safe by leaving your animal at home if you stay on my property!

Mayastoga offers our guests Wine Country Concierge services for a small fee per day of your stay. Your concierge will plan and manage all aspects of your visit to our distinctive property in California’s northern Wine Country. Itineraries can include boutique and hard-to-access wineries, local restaurant reservations and transportation, as well as special touches that make for a truly memorable adventure. In addition to your tasting days, arrangements can include evenings in the comfort of your luxury residence with a private chef, a guest winemaker, or a cheese tasting and pairing with an internationally recognized food and wine expert (or all of the above!). Of course, there are numerous activities in addition to wine and culinary plans that are regularly arranged for our clients, including unique local attractions and activities (including our “Kids Country” itineraries).

MINIMUM STAY REQUIREMENTS: We have a 3-plus night minimum depending on the time of year.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
- Cancellations 30-plus days prior to arrival will receive a full refund less any fees for credit card processing we have incurred when you made your original payments. (We do not charge credit card fees when guests originally reserve).
- Cancellations less than 30 days prior to arrival will not receive a refund unless we are able to rebook the property for your same dates. In that case, you will be refunded the full amount of your payments to date less any fees for credit card processing we incurred when you made your original payments. If we choose, you may be able to receive a credit toward a future stay valued at the full amount of your payments less original credit card fees.

FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS/NON-DISCLOSURE:
- Any reservation obtained under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit, and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.
- Any non-disclosure by the Renter, such as failure to disclose pets brought to the property, additional guests allowed on the property by the Renter, or any other material non-disclosure identified during the Renter's stay will result in a fine equivalent to 50 percent of the rental amount.
