Hope to see you next time" - "It was our Honeymoon, we wanted a place that was out of the way, quiet and charming. We got that and more. They even had flowers and a welcome sign for us. The view was beautiful. The cabin was charming and full of little extras at every turn. We hope to make it back for our 1 year anniversary. WE LOVED IT!! Troy and Donna Ivie"

Escape to wine, water, nature, and cozy cabin comfort that's a short trip from San Francisco (1hr 15 min) and only minutes to charming downtown Healdsburg and Dry Creek Valley wineries! Situated directly on the beautiful Russian River (you have direct access to the river), the cabin is a perfect getaway for wine tasting, river fun (private beach, canoe/SUPs), and Healdsburg access (9 min). Built in 1949, we've kept the cabin's rustic charm, but updated it with modern design, conveniences, and comfort. Perfect for couples or a family.
Recently updated, the cabin maintains its rustic redwood charm, but has all of the modern conveniences and comforts you're looking for.
- Full kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, and "touch" control faucet, and breakfast bar
- Large living / dining room with table for 4, big windows for great views, and a queen sofa sleeper (with a good mattress!)
- Master bedroom loft with king bed (Casper mattress)
- Updated full bath (no tub) on main floor
- Large upper deck with amazing views
- Lower level bedroom with cozy bed nooks, full-size washer/dryer, TV (w/ Apple TV), half bath, and private lower deck. ***Please note that the lower level bedroom is thru a separate door that you access by going outside and down stairs - if you have young kiddos, it might not be the best set-up for your family.
- Outdoor shower, easy access to private beach, and other gear (canoe, 2 SUPs, adult life jackets, beach chairs)
Our private beach where you can enjoy soaking in the sun, paddling in our canoe or paddle boards, or taking a dip (there's a great swimming hole right in front of our place for a good summer cool-off!). Please note the river's current can be strong even in summer and there are no lifeguards.
We are eager to help guide your stay to ensure you have a fabulous time both at the cabin, and enjoying the area. If you have any issues during your stay, our property manager (Shelley) lives across the street (<1 min walk) and can be contacted 24/7.
Please note that the downstairs bedroom (with the 2 beds and TV) has a separate entrance, outside and down stairs, from the main level. As noted above, this might not be ideal for families with young kids.
Other things to note:
While we certainly have added new appliances and features, this is still a cabin, thus there are a couple things to be aware of:
- Help us keep the septic system working well by only flushing TP
- Cell phone service can be spotty in the cabin (maybe a good thing?), but, if desperate, can be found if you walk down the road a house or two. Wifi however is very stable and accessible around the cabin!
- Windows are single-pane, which means poor sound insulation (for passing cars) and potential drafts if the weather is really cold (heater/cooling units in both levels though)
- We've kept the old animal mounts (moose, deer, duck) that came with the cabin and are part of its "hunting cabin" history. Please don't book if that will upset you.
Maximum overnight occupancy: 6 persons (not including children under 3 years of age)
Maximum cars: 2 (there is no nearby street parking)
Quiet hours must be observed from 9pm - 7am and no outdoor amplified sound is allowed
Guests must leave the property when a voluntary evacuation order is issued for the evacuation zone.

- "We had an amazing trip. The property was clean and quaint. The camp-like atmosphere of the cabin and the access to the river really made our stay memorable. One of our group left behind items and the manager was very helpful in sending it back. Thanks again! We will be back." - "Our family had the best time staying at this cozy cabin - our boys did NOT want to leave the river. We fished (got one!), caught minnows, swam, paddled, floated, and had a picnic down the river bend. The cabin is stocked with all the accessories you will need on the river. The owner was very friendly, accommodating, and easy to communicate with. One tip - be sure to get yourself a delightful treat from Wicked Slush during your stay!"

- "My wife and I and my 22 year old son and his girlfriend stayed here for 2 nights while we toured Sonoma wineries and spent time in Healdsburg. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, well stocked kitchen to cook or BBQ. Beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. the property was easy to access. Loved having a glass of wine on the massive deck listening to the birds, very quiet area. We Ubered everywhere and it was $12 to Uber to downtown Healdsburg."

Cosmico is our special retreat in Healdsburg on Mill Creek - a labor of love restored cabin in the redwoods featuring vintage furnishings and an architectural elegance.
We fell in love with the Healdsburg area, and our house is just 7 minutes to downtown for dinners and wine tastings and visits to the farmers market.
Just 1.5 hrs from the Golden Gate Bridge, we are in the heart of Sonoma county with all that is on offer - wine tasting, world class cycling, hiking, and culinary delights.
To see the current air quality at the home, please visit PurpleAir.com and search for Healdsburg, to the west of town you'll see our sensor called "Starlight Grove." Please message us if you'd like a direct link to it.
The space
This cabin in the redwood grove sits right along Mill Creek, which feeds the Russian River and runs year round. Between May and September the creek is wonderful way to stay cool, and there is a swimming hole on the creek steps from the house.
We love the contrasting colors of the sky and the green of the redwoods - during the day the sky is the bluest of blue, and at night the stars are right at your fingertips with no light pollution at all. We designed the day bed on the deck because we spent the summer we were renovating the house sleeping outside under the stars on a futon - you can do the same on the daybed if you choose.
We love the Healdsburg area with access to world-class cycling, wine-tasting, culinary delights and more.
Inside the house in the redwood paneled living room you can settle in with a glass of wine and listen to records on the vintage Marantz stereo and record player (careful please).
We feel so disconnected and unplugged when we visit this part of the world, and though wifi is available, the best screen time is outside staring at the redwoods and watching the birds and ducks in the creek.
Main House:
- 1 master bedroom w. queen bed and ensuite full bathroom
- 1 kids room with crib & daybed and ensuite full bathroom
Bure (Detached Guest House):
- Studio suite with queen bed and ensuite bathroom & outdoor shower
We hope you'll enjoy this home as much as we do, its really a special place. Welcome.
Guest access
You'll have exclusive access to the house, which is very private and nestled into the redwood grove. There is a house next door and access to the swimming hole is shared between the two properties.
Interaction with guests
- "We loved everything about the property, especially stargazing in the hot tub at night. Secluded yet so close to Healdsburg, it was the best of both worlds. Can’t wait to come back!" - "The property is location was beautiful and quite. Lots of amenities. The plunge pool was the star. Close enough to town to get anything delivered. Very tranquil and quiet." - "Highlight of our stay was definitely the infinity plunge pool/hot tub! We spent hours lounging in there even while it was raining! :D The views of the creek/trees are amazing. We also enjoyed listening to the old records on the record player & appreciated how clean the house was. Chris & Doreen were also very friendly, helpful & accommodating. The house feels like it's deep into the woods but is only a few minutes drive from downtown. Great place to get away. Thanks for the wonderful stay Chris & Doreen! :)"
