To top off our unforgettable experience, on our last day we visited the Wilson Family Winery and were taken care of like family. We couldn’t recommend the Rockhouse any more. Bathroom and shower are shared and a short walk from the tent assigned to us, which is a brief walk. Can get cold during night time so plan your shower accordingly. Plenty of hot water and shampoo.etv :) shower and bathroom are very clean - nice! Lastly, the folks there are really nice. It’s our first time here but won’t be our last time. This is a perfect spot for up to four adults who seek a restorative, restful experience of being pampered by nature, night skies, and a chance to be away in a wonderful small town known for wine, food, art, and outdoor life. Our home is designed for low-environmental impact. It is solar-supported, with new double-pane windows, energy-efficient air conditioning, heat, and appliances, screened windows allow in cooling evening breezes.
No matter the season, our home is easy to be outside or in. Two decks, one facing the woods across the narrow lane and shaded by a large oak, and the other on the two-story-high southeast side looking to the hills and high meadows across the Russian river. Osprey, egrets, herons and other fishing birds can be seen on their patrols up and down the river.
We are a 5-minute drive or 10-minute bike ride (BYOB), or take a leisurely 20-30 minute walk through the neighborhoods to the Healdsburg Plaza, perfect for wine tasting and enjoying world-class restaurants. In summer we have two Farmers Markets for local produce and products--Saturday 9-noon and Tuesday in the Plaza, 9-noon. There are local bookstores, bakeries, coffee houses, art galleries and retail shops for jewelry, fine clothing and kitchen wares.
Bright and clean open-plan, single-story home with all new furnishings: two queen bedrooms, (east and west) each with a tv. East bedroom has a slider to the deck. Two full baths each with walk-in showers. Washer/Dryer is off the kitchen.
Relax in the living room and watch a movie or curl up with a book, sit on the stools at the counter and talk to the cook in the fully-equipped kitchen. Dining table seats 4 and has much of the 180-degree view! Living room has wall of windows with wide slider to the deck, a small gas grill, and places to sit, or stand and watch the fabulous scenery. High chairs for dining at the plank table with a string of festive lights overhead.
It's a very quiet neighborhood, excellent for resting and relaxing. People are friendly, but privacy is respected and the deep nature, the dark nights, and the serenity are the draws of staying on the mountain. We are among the houses along a narrow windy lane (far less grand than "Avenue" might suggest!); each home set a bit differently--most have been treasured for generations by families who came to Fitch Mountain for respites from city life. Step out the door along the lane and set off for beautiful walks, go explore the little trails and lanes that surround you in redwoods, century-old vacation cottages, wild flowers, mother and baby fawns and California oaks, bay, madrone, buckeye, and redwood. Birdlife abounds.

The place is amazing - it's a secluded mountain retreat that is both removed from wine country, but also an easy 5 min drive to the heart of wine country and wine tastings. There is almost zero light pollution, allowing you to see Milky Way Galaxy with the naked eye from the hottub in the evening. Incredibly quiet stay. The cottage is a well-appointed, stand-alone unit with a private gate and entrance which provides an ideal retreat for touring the Sonoma and Napa wine country. Located in a garden setting 5 blocks from the Healdsburg Plaza in the central, historic district, it is adjacent to a 2-story, 1880's Victorian farmhouse in a friendly, pedestrian neighborhood. The cottage (600 sq. ft.) sleeps up to four people and offers an open, sunny living area with vaulted ceilings, a bedroom* and large bathroom with a shower facility. The window seat overlooks the cottage garden. (* Note that there is no door between the living room and the bedroom. These two areas are semi-private and separated by a short hallway.)

The setting accommodates visitors who want to relax in privacy. We are 8.3 miles from the Healdsburg town square. This drive takes about 18-20 minutes. The final road to our house is private and is paved for 1.5 miles, our "driveway" is a very well maintained rock rock and is about a 3 minute drive to the house from the entrance gate.

THIS COTTAGE IS A TRUE RETREAT. Our cottage has very reasonable rates for a house on the river with scenic views and a large spa. It is truly a different experience to be on the river. The large deck and dinning room have wonder views of the river and lots of natural light. Built in 1930 and updated over the year, keeping all the charm of a rustic vintage river cottage. There are high ceilings, wood floors, knotty pine in the living room, a stone fireplace with insert, granite counters, large double sink, gas stove, dishwasher, disposal, enclosed sun porch and large deck with wonderful river views. It is an old fashion river cabin that is pet and family friendly. It is not a modern high end home or fancy Healdsburg hotel. Just a fun place to enjoy the views, spa and river. The river flows behind the house just a few steps away. Take the path to the river in the summer time and enjoy our private gazebo set up for our guest to use with sun shade, table and chairs. A perfect place to hang out, relax and swim. A large 4 person hot tub is located under mature redwood trees, very private. The house is near the end of a quiet street with very little traffic. There is a one car garage plus 1 or 2 parking places in the driveway.

We have all the comforts of home, central forced air heating, high speed internet, Netflix's, smart TV in living room, second TV in the back bedroom, Comcast cable TV. There are ceiling fans in the living room and dinning rom and portable fans in the bedrooms but there is no air conditioning.

We set up a Gazebo/Sun Shade (summer only) across the river right on the river bank with table and chairs, provides lot of shade, we also have tubes for a river float, ice chest, beach umbrella and beach chairs for our guest to use (summer only) to take full advantage of all the river has to offer.

The easy beach access makes it a fun place for children to enjoy the river. Take a float or swim down the river, enjoy the scenery, you may even see a few turtles and herons.

Besides the river there are many other activities for guest to enjoy, the Healdsburg Town Square is 3 miles away which offers shopping, fine dinning, theaters, bakeries, live concerts and a farmers market. Dry Creek, Alexander Valley and Russian River wine regions are just a short drive from the property with world class wineries and tasting rooms.

The Villa Chanticleer, a wonderful facility for Weddings is less than a mile away on North Fitch Mt. Road. They also have a big dog park. Badger park has a play area for children.

The house will accommodate up to 4 adults or a couple with 2 children. Works out well with 2 couples as the bedrooms are separate from each other, one in the front and the other in the back of the house, allows for nice privacy. If you are planning a wedding, family gathering or just have a larger group and need more room, the owners can refer you to additional rental properties near by.

HOUSE AND SONOMA COUNTY RULES: The following information is required by the County: Only 2 cars allowed at the house and must be parked in the driveway or garage. There is no street parking allowed.

Maximum occupancy is 4, children under 3 are not included. Maximum number of day guests allowed over the 4 night time guest is 2 for a total of 6 people. Please be respectful of our neighbors, many of them are permeant residences. Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 8 a.m. No amplified sound of any kind is allowed, including speaker attached to your phone.

We are a pet friendly house (2 dog maximum). Dogs must comply with Sonoma Co. leash law.

We are eager to help guide your stay to ensure you have a fabulous time both at the cabin, and enjoying the area. If you have any issues during your stay, our property manager (Shelley) lives across the street (<1 min walk) and can be contacted 24/7.

Please note that the downstairs bedroom (with the 2 beds and TV) has a separate entrance, outside and down stairs, from the main level. As noted above, this might not be ideal for families with young kids.

Other things to note:
While we certainly have added new appliances and features, this is still a cabin, thus there are a couple things to be aware of:
- Help us keep the septic system working well by only flushing TP
- Cell phone service can be spotty in the cabin (maybe a good thing?), but, if desperate, can be found if you walk down the road a house or two. Wifi however is very stable and accessible around the cabin!
- Windows are single-pane, which means poor sound insulation (for passing cars) and potential drafts if the weather is really cold (heater/cooling units in both levels though)
- We've kept the old animal mounts (moose, deer, duck) that came with the cabin and are part of its "hunting cabin" history. Please don't book if that will upset you.

This gorgeous home was built in the 40s-50s and is part of the historic Camp Rose neighborhood and is nestled on the side of Fitch Mountain. There is a semi-private Russian River beach access called Camp Rose that is a half-mile walk down from here - it is only for people in the Camp Rose community! There is also a public beach access called "Del Rio Woods", which is about a mile up the road. Downtown Healdsburg is a short two-mile drive away where you will find restaurants, parks, and endless vineyards and wineries! Some must-visit attractions include Dry Creek Vineyard, Trentadue Winery, Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens, Luther Burbank Center For The Arts, Safari West, and Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a damage waiver fee which covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Upon entering, you are greeted with the living room & a spacious kitchen that has a sliding glass door to the backyard. Off of the living room are two bedrooms, one of which has its own half bath, with a shared full bathroom in the hallway. Upstairs lives the primary suite with a spacious bedroom, full bathroom, walking closet, & laundry. Beautiful landscaping wraps around the home for a garden feel
