The cottage is a well-appointed, stand-alone unit with a private gate and entrance which provides an ideal retreat for touring the Sonoma and Napa wine country. Located in a garden setting 5 blocks from the Healdsburg Plaza in the central, historic district, it is adjacent to a 2-story, 1880's Victorian farmhouse in a friendly, pedestrian neighborhood. The cottage (600 sq. ft.) sleeps up to four people and offers an open, sunny living area with vaulted ceilings, a bedroom* and large bathroom with a shower facility. The window seat overlooks the cottage garden. (* Note that there is no door between the living room and the bedroom. These two areas are semi-private and separated by a short hallway.)

The setting accommodates visitors who want to relax in privacy. The bedroom has a very comfortable (brand new 12/22) Saatva Classic Luxury queen bed, which gets rave reviews, with high thread-count sheets and high-quality towels/washcloths. THIS COTTAGE IS A TRUE RETREAT. Our cottage has very reasonable rates for a house on the river with scenic views and a large spa. It is truly a different experience to be on the river. The large deck and dinning room have wonder views of the river and lots of natural light. Built in 1930 and updated over the year, keeping all the charm of a rustic vintage river cottage. There are high ceilings, wood floors, knotty pine in the living room, a stone fireplace with insert, granite counters, large double sink, gas stove, dishwasher, disposal, enclosed sun porch and large deck with wonderful river views. It is an old fashion river cabin that is pet and family friendly. It is not a modern high end home or fancy Healdsburg hotel. Just a fun place to enjoy the views, spa and river. The river flows behind the house just a few steps away. Take the path to the river in the summer time and enjoy our private gazebo set up for our guest to use with sun shade, table and chairs. A perfect place to hang out, relax and swim. A large 4 person hot tub is located under mature redwood trees, very private. The house is near the end of a quiet street with very little traffic. There is a one car garage plus 1 or 2 parking places in the driveway.

We have all the comforts of home, central forced air heating, high speed internet, Netflix's, smart TV in living room, second TV in the back bedroom, Comcast cable TV. There are ceiling fans in the living room and dinning rom and portable fans in the bedrooms but there is no air conditioning.

We set up a Gazebo/Sun Shade (summer only) across the river right on the river bank with table and chairs, provides lot of shade, we also have tubes for a river float, ice chest, beach umbrella and beach chairs for our guest to use (summer only) to take full advantage of all the river has to offer.

The easy beach access makes it a fun place for children to enjoy the river. Take a float or swim down the river, enjoy the scenery, you may even see a few turtles and herons.

Besides the river there are many other activities for guest to enjoy, the Healdsburg Town Square is 3 miles away which offers shopping, fine dinning, theaters, bakeries, live concerts and a farmers market. Dry Creek, Alexander Valley and Russian River wine regions are just a short drive from the property with world class wineries and tasting rooms.

The Villa Chanticleer, a wonderful facility for Weddings is less than a mile away on North Fitch Mt. Road. They also have a big dog park. Badger park has a play area for children.

The house will accommodate up to 4 adults or a couple with 2 children. Works out well with 2 couples as the bedrooms are separate from each other, one in the front and the other in the back of the house, allows for nice privacy. If you are planning a wedding, family gathering or just have a larger group and need more room, the owners can refer you to additional rental properties near by.

HOUSE AND SONOMA COUNTY RULES: The following information is required by the County: Only 2 cars allowed at the house and must be parked in the driveway or garage. There is no street parking allowed.

Maximum occupancy is 4, children under 3 are not included. Maximum number of day guests allowed over the 4 night time guest is 2 for a total of 6 people. Please be respectful of our neighbors, many of them are permeant residences. Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 8 a.m. No amplified sound of any kind is allowed, including speaker attached to your phone.

We are a pet friendly house (2 dog maximum). Dogs must comply with Sonoma Co. leash law.

This cozy, rustic, cottage has 3 bedrooms, two queen beds and one double bed, sleeps 6, has 2 bathrooms. It is a 5-minute walk to the Russian River and a 10-minute car ride to downtown Healdsburg. The cottage has easy access to hiking trails behind the house, up Fitch mountain, and to the nearby dog park, at the Villa Chanticleer. There is an outside eating area, a deck, BBQ, and a fenced-in yard, excellent for pets and small children. Inside there is a washer and dryer, two flat screen tvs, and wifi availablity, gas fireplace, fenced-in yard. It is a relaxing place with few neighbors and many redwood trees. - "When we arrived at the Heron House we were greeted by a charming front garden that was so welcoming we could not wait to explore more of the property. It did not disappoint. The first impressions were of charming cottage feels. It had enough space to not feel like we were squished together but also not overly grand that the warm and comfort would be missed. We had dinner and wine on the back deck and then relaxed in the hot tub in the evenings. It was an excellent experience overall. The only thing is we weren’t able to locate a couple of the light switches that connect to the outside lights above the hot tub but we were able to improvise. This house is no fuss, it was clean, the view of the river was really nice and the neighborhood is extremely quiet at night. No the house is not modern but that is what is so charming about it! We would love to come back and stay at the Heron House in the future."

The Space
Main Cottage: The cottage has a cozy living area with a fireplace, a modern kitchen, and French doors opening to the front porch. The primary bedroom has a King-sized bed, and a bonus room has a Full-sized bed. There is a full bathroom with a walk-in shower and heated floors. It also includes a dedicated workspace with a desk and chair.

Guest House: The Creekside Bungalow is a separate building with a private bedroom and en-suite bathroom, ideal for extra privacy. The bedroom has a Queen-sized bed.

Outdoor Living: The expansive deck has a pergola, comfortable seating, an outdoor dining table, and a grill. A treehouse nestled in the redwoods adds a whimsical touch.

Laundry Room: Separate building with stacked Samsung washer and dryer, ironing board, and iron.

Mill Creek: Enjoy the serene sounds and views of the creek flowing alongside the property. Stairs lead down to the creek from the backside of the property. Creek access will vary based on the season and the creek's water level. The creek bed is rocky and natural, so it may not be easy to navigate.

Parking: Ample gravel parking area for multiple vehicles.

Guest Access:
Guests have exclusive access to the entire property, including the main cottage, guest house, laundry room, parking area, and all outdoor areas, except for the tree house, which is off-limits for safety reasons. Enjoy the natural surroundings and relax in comfort.

The Heart of Healdsburg Cottage is a one acre property with an in ground pool, hot tub, hobby vineyard, and walking distance to downtown. Because it is close in, the road is busy, however the back yard space creates a nice buffer from the traffic. The outdoor seating area offers lounges at poolside and a beautiful picnic table under the fairy lights strung above in the walnut tree. A large deck and hot tub sits outside the French doors entering the kitchen and a beautiful glass fire pit just beyond the deck.

This lovely little cottage is really a unique and hard to find category for a few guests or 2 couples. Furnished smartly, and priced right, this cottage offers big amenities for the vacation home traveler.

As our guests walk into the front door (through a small gate) they enter the living room. This area has an oversize TV/DVD, armchair sofa, a sofa and a fold out chair. There is a wood burning fireplace, and dining area enough for 6 guests.

To the left of the living room area are two bedrooms, each with queen bed and comfortable mattresses and linens. Walking through the living room area our guests access the kitchen area with modern appliances and inside laundry area. Adjacent to the laundry area is the full bathroom.

The many wonderful amenities include walking/ bicycling to town (less than one mile and just a few minutes by car), in ground pool, outdoor seating, large hot tub, and one acre of property with vineyard, and Orsi Winery across the road (with a few other also amazing wineries a short walk away).

This beautiful cottage was newly remodeled a little over a year ago and is ready for you to create new memories!

- "We really had the best time! The location is great - but definitely pack your sound machine. As indicated in the listing, the traffic is a bit noisy. Cottage didn’t have any wine glasses so we left some for the next guest! The door to the bathroom was a little touch and go as well - could probably use repair. Beds we’re comfy and the cottage had everything else we needed!" - "This is a charmingly and thoughtfully decorated, comfortable, and spacious two-bedroom farmhouse on a rather busy country road. We enjoyed trips to vineyards (some are walkable), redwoods, and Healdsburg's wonderful restaurants as well as relaxing on the front porch (four rocking chairs!), on the back porch sitting area and hot tub, and at the picnic table under the impressive old walnut tree. Great views, well-equipped kitchen, good plumbing, lovely property. As noted in the listing and by others, there is quite a bit of traffic, but it didn't bother us after the first night (when there was also a strong wind that kept the gate clanking during the night). We're looking forward to a return trip to pick blackberries."

Brand new beautiful, modern getaway right on Dry Creek! This secluded, peaceful property has a full kitchen, huge deck, two king bedrooms with in-suite bathrooms and a king Murphy bed and full bath in the living space. The popular Healdsburg town square, with all its shops and restaurants, is just a 15-minute walk away.

Wonderful river getaway in a cabin on North Fitch Mountain Rd. Lots of trees, views of the Russian River, and easy river access. River chairs, shading, and accessories provided to practically guarantee a perfect day of rest and relaxation after exploring the downtown or one of the beautiful local wineries.

Built into the hillside, a cozy 2 bedroom one bath get away to rest and relax. Well stocked kitchen (condiments and spices to help you execute your meals) with a table that sits 6 easily. Living room opens to a river facing deck with outdoor dining and relaxation options.
Cabin is two levels built into the hillside. Lower level is is reserved for the owner's residence. Both levels have separate entrances and decks with views.

Living area and bedrooms have air conditioners for those hot summer days. In addition for those brisk days, the living room has a gas fireplace to snuggle up in front of with a good book or your favorite show.
