Sitting in the shade of the front porch is a wonderful way to while away an afternoon. The shade from the large namesake Oaktree over the property keeps everything about 15 degrees cooler than out in the sun, and sitting there just feels somehow... right! To help enjoy the cool breeze, we've placed a teak glider bench next to the front door to enhance the experience. The travertine patio gives privacy just steps away from both cottages, and around back is a pergola with a gas fire pit and comfy chairs. A couple of chaises, as well as other lounging furniture, makes the backyard incredibly relaxing. Pick some tomatoes and pinch off some basil from the herb garden drizzle a little olive oil, mix in some slices of asiago cheese and you've got a wonderful, simple Mediterranean tomato salad like Nana used to make!

Newly renovated home with a gorgeous bathroom that includes a full soaking bathtub and separate walk-in stall shower. Bedrooms include a master bedroom and a guest bedroom, both with Queen-size Beautyrest beds. Each bedroom includes flat-screen TV's. - "By far my favorite part about our stay here (other than the hosts, who were friendly and nice, and Sheila even gave us a private yoga lesson) was the tree-covered patio featuring several breathtaking trees. On the super hot days we were there, I enjoyed nothing more than taking a book beneath the canopy of green and getting lost to the nature. The guest house is private (it currently abuts a large empty lot populated by a family of deer), but the actual accommodations were only so-so. This includes the bed (incredibly creaky), pillows, kitchen appliances, and shower. In other words, don't expect a luxurious interior, but given the proximity to Sonoma as well as the aforementioned patio, this is still a great place to spend a vacation."

Nestled down a little country dirt lane, our cottage named after William Wordsworth's own Dove Cottage, is a calming sanctuary in the middle of the Wine Country, close to Sonoma Plaza. It is a completely private residence with it's own solar-heated pool, large private deck for entertaining, dining, and relaxing. It has a lush, wrap-around garden, and a modern, clean, minimal interior space. It is perfectly located close to Sonoma Square for the best in fine dining and access to some of the best wineries in the world.

Our cottage is perfect for a couple's romantic weekend away, or a fun weekend for a small family with kids enjoying the pool (with automatic cover- so very safe) and Traintown just around the corner. *We do not typically heat the pool November- February due to the cold temperatures, it is almost impossible to get the pool warm enough to enjoy.

Besides being a beautiful little getaway, we have also put thought into the details: Dove Cottage has air-conditioning/heating and features a beautiful custom luxury kitchen. It has two Sony HD TV's with complimentary Netflix and Cable, Full Lightening speed Wi-fi, and unique European design details such as a sliding custom barn-door and two Dutch-style doors. And the back master suite has french doors that lead out to your private deck to enjoy the evening sunsets or the fresh morning air.

Our cottage is close enough to the Square for easy access and proximity yet has a wonderful rural setting that allows you to simultaneously feel away from it all. We have tried to create a space that we love to be in as a family, or as a romantic getaway, and we have put a lot of thought into the design and flow, and we hope that you will love it, and that it will make your time in this beautiful part of the world even more enjoyable and memorable.

The Cottage is set back from the road on a private acre surrounded by neighboring vineyards with a small meadow in front. We are located just outside of Sonoma proper in the Carneros wine growing appellation. Central to everything you could want to experience in both the Sonoma and Napa Valleys.
The Cottage was recently remodeled with great thought put into the comfort of our guests including full generator backup in the event of power loss.
We have Daikan air-conditioning / heating split system throughout with a gas stove in the living room and heated bathroom floors.
Both bedrooms have floor heaters and Queen size beds that are outfitted with luxury mattresses.
Our kitchen has all the amenities of home. And of course we have super fast wifi and a large flat screen tv with cable in the living room.
Guests are encouraged to use the BBQ and our well maintained hot tub 365 days a year on our patio that faces the beautiful Mayacamas mountains.
Adjacent to the patio is our pump house that holds a full sized washer and dryer.
Uber drivers and local wine tours are familiar with our property and are used by our guests regularly.
We have two options to cover damage protection. A damage protection policy with CSA OR a REFUNDABLE credit card damage protection deposit.
Both used to be offered but recently we were asked to choose between the two and have gone with the CSA damage protection policy because it has been the most preferred. BUT if you would like to use the REFUNDABLE credit card deposit option please contact me for coordination.
Our cottage is in a neighborhood of WORKING vineyards. Guests may experience seasonal activity and noise attributed to vineyard care and maintenance.

This quiet and serene Cape Cod cedar shake cottage consists of two main rooms. The large bedroom has a king bed, with a sitting area, 43' flat screen TV, with wi-fi throughout, 1/2 bath with washer/dryer and walk-in closet. The French doors open to an outside sitting area with meadow views. Quail Run is named after the families of quail whose habitat we share. It is a unique property that has been enjoyed by our family for 60 years. The recently renovated cottage has a great room with living area, kitchen and dining, and a bedroom that opens up to a private patio with hot tub. The great room opens up to a grape vine covered arbor and patio that transitions into a large lawn. Beyond the lawn is our orchard and past the orchard is the Freyer Creek bike path that leads to downtown Sonoma. The cottage is the only house on the two acre property.

This charming cottage is located in one of Sonoma's most historic neighborhoods in the heart of California Wine Country. It is very cheerful and is a place to relax and enjoy all that this destination has to offer.

A cheerful front-covered porch invites you to enjoy the morning sun. High ceilings in the living room create space for a music salon. The original Douglas fir wood floor from the 1920s blends beautifully with the ebony grand piano. There are two bedrooms. The sofa bed in the living room and another sofa bed in one of the bedrooms can be used for additional guests. The fully equipped kitchen comes with a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, and all pots and pans, utensils, dishes, and glasses you need. The bathroom has a shower/tub combination, and towels are provided. You are welcome to enjoy outdoor dining on the back patio, where you can also access the vegetable/herb garden, brick fire pit, and a comfortable chaise lounge.
The area is quiet and peaceful while being a short walk to several local restaurants, an ice cream shop, grocery stores, a post office, and many more locations. There are two cottages on the property. A front gate entrance is shared, but they are in separate spaces. Both have a definite sense of separation and privacy.

The monthly rent includes $200 for electricity and gas. The guest covers any amount over, which will be requested at the end of the stay through the Airbnb platform. Please don't hesitate to ask about the average charges before booking. Moderate use of central heat will usually keep costs low. Summers are hot in Sonoma, so depending on your AC usage, the cost can exceed the allotted amount.

This cozy home is 840 sq feet. There is one private bedroom and one bathroom with large shower. The second bed is located in the sitting/ living room area adjacent to the kitchen in an open floor plan. It’s a chest bed and can be folded away.

The bathroom door is located inside the bedroom so guests staying in the main living area will have to enter the bedroom to use the bathroom which is right next to the entrance door. There is a privacy screen in the bedroom.

We now have a fire pit for guests to enjoy as well as a hot tub overlooking the creek.

We always offer coffee and tea for our guests with cream and sugar as well and have all the basic amenities such as shampoo and conditioner, soaps, paper products, olive oil and salt and pepper for cooking as well as cooking utensils, cutlery, glasses, mugs, cookware and a six person dining set. There is an ice machine in the freezer with ice made for you.
No more than 4 guests are permitted to stay the night.


Please note we are located in an extremely quiet and safe neighborhood. Your biggest threat (;-)) are bugs and animals. We’re a little country. Bug spray is provided!

There is a designated parking spot directly in front of the garage.
We have many seating areas in the California sun or in the shade as well as several umbrellas.

We are located on the Sonoma Creek. Please use at your own risk. There is a steep drop off into the creek. Lots of amazing wildlife visit daily and sounds of nature are not uncommon.

We live in a house on the back half acre, and the two properties share a common roomy parking area and the driveway down the vineyard. The cottage and house are completely separate and private. You may occasionally see us out and about doing vineyard or garden work.

This home does not have a central heating system as there is no crawl space or attack in approximately half of the home, so there are three heaters in the home:
1.) Near the middle of the home, there is a two sided gas wall heater that heats the central bedroom and living room/kitchen
2.) The second bedroom has a gas direct vent heater
3.) The third bedroom has a 1200 watt electric space heater
In our experience, this has been more than sufficient for us and the vast majority of our guests, however if you are particularly sensitive to temperature variations, please be advised that the home does not heat in a perfectly even manner.
The bedroom that lists a queen size bed and two twin beds in fact has a queen bed and a trundle style bed that pulls out into two mattresses. When you arrive, this will be set up like a normal twin size bed, however if you want to pull it out to make for two mattresses next to each other, that is one option, and another option would be to put one of the mattresses on the ground across the room from the one in the frame. Private, quiet, peaceful family or couple-friendly rustic farm cottage, wine country retreat with a private pool minutes away from wineries, like Schug, Gloria Ferrar, Viansa, Ram's Gate and Sonoma town square. Solar-heated pool is open June-October. We are locked in by three dead-end roads, so it's very quiet. Large deck, large pool patio, kids' play structure, and more. Horses are our neighbors and life slows down here.

The space
This is a cozy space. It's about 850 sq. ft. The floors are original Douglas Fir. The fixtures in the bathrooms are all salvaged vintage.

Guest access
Parking on-premises, the neighborhood is walkable but to get anywhere, you will need a car. Lyft and Uber run out here but allow time.

We have animals on the property-- there are sheep, goats, llamas and alpacas. Do not enter the gated animal enclosures. The pool abuts the animal gate and they may 'visit' you, but please do not enter the gate.

There are other fences and gates. Please do not enter any closed-off areas. These are private residences and our other airbnb.

Other things to note
We pay our housekeeping help a living wage. 95% of your cleaning fee goes to our help. We keep a nominal fee for cleaning expenses.

The cottage used to be our home. We lived in it for five years. We are deeply invested in caring for it and this is reflected in an extensive manual you will encounter upon check-in. The font is big (18 point) but it is long. This will not suit everyone, so please be sure that you are ok with this.

Our gardener comes on Tuesday, typically. Our pool guy comes at various times, but during the pool's open months, June to mid-October, he will make it a come at a time that will not disturb you.

PLEASE READ ABOUT THE SPACE CAREFULLY. OUR SPACE IS NOT RIGHT FOR EVERYONE. Many of your questions can be answered in the details below.

1. We will not accommodate any wedding-related/ event-related reservations. We will not accommodate bridal & groom preparation, hair, make-up, food-prep, act as a holding space, parking space for photoshoots, photographs, or anything which requires multiple trades to be on site. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO VIOLATE THIS POLICY.

2. We happily use a local mom & pop internet provider, thus the internet is good, at best. IF YOU REQUIRE ACCESS TO RELIABLE, HIGH-SPEED INTERNET, OUR COTTAGE IS NOT RIGHT FOR YOU. please make sure you are aware of this and you're ok with it before you decide to stay here.

3. We have exterior surveillance cameras. They monitor the driveway and general land. There are no cameras anywhere indoors or in the immediate pool area.

4. WE CAN NEVER, NEVER, NEVER accommodate more than FOUR guests per stay, at any given time. The violation penalties are set at their maximum and though we would hate to exercise this, we will if necessary.

5. Only registered guests are permitted to use the pool and property in general. The pool is private and for your exclusive use. The pool may not be used as a gathering space to invite friends over to swim. We understand that many times people do want a pool to use as a gathering space, but our space is not that space. There are many other homes with pools that permit gatherings that will be a better fit for you if gathering with friends at your rental is what you want. Please do not break this very strict rule. You will be asked to leave and this will ruin your stay. Additionally, the pool bathroom is only open during pool season.

6. We have a stocked kitchen but it's not fully equipped. You will be able to make most of your meals here, but it is not equipped to handle large, complicated dinners. Taco night, yes. Holiday meal, no. Coffee, absolutely. We provide Peet's coffee, sugar. We have a Chemex coffee system. We're big coffee fans.

7. Our TV is smart TV only. We do not have channels. You will need a Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Vudu account to watch anything.

8. We are 6.3 miles or 15-20 from the Sonoma Town Center. Our cottage will best suit those who are OK with this and the short drive into town. If you are looking for a walkable, hustle-bustle space, our bungalow is not for you. If you are looking for relaxation and quiet, our cottage is perfect for you.

9. If you plan to arrive in more than two cars, please let us know.

10. Our neighbors have livestock: cows and horses. They sometimes smell like livestock, though there are also occasions when all of Sonoma smell of what the locals call, "The Sonoma Aroma”. If you are overly sensitive to smells, our cottage is not right for you.

11. We are in the country. This means we have critters and insects. We have flies, lots of them. Keeping your doors closed and screened windows open will mitigate the flies. Some other critters we have are yellow jackets (we set traps out every season but we never can get them all), spiders, frogs, ants, lizards, beetles, other insects, mice. To keep out mice and ants, don’t leave food around. The mice have some entry points we’ve not been able to find and once in a while, one makes its way inside. To keep flies out, only open the doors or windows with screens on them.

12. Our electric grid is very sensitive. You may not leave the heater or AC on while you are out. Sometimes guests do this because they want to come back to a warm/ cool cottage, which is understandable, but out here, it's not possible. We are on a small grid and leaving a major appliance on all day with cause a power outage, which means NO WATER as our well relies on electricity. If the AC or heat is left on, WE WILL HAVE TO GO INSIDE YOUR COTTAGE AND TURN IT OFF.

13. We love animals, but cannot host your pets. I and my co-host, who also cleans the cottages, are extremely allergic to dogs, cats, and most furry friends. Due to this, we cannot accommodate service animals.

The 940 sq ft high ceiling home includes a newly constructed screened in porch with vineyard and pool views to enjoy indoor/outdoor living at its finest. It also features two bedrooms; one with a queen size bed and the other with two twin beds plus a bonus nook that could sleep a child.

This property is enjoyable all year round. The hot tub can be heated all year around on demand. The pool is solar heated (from about May-Oct, depending on weather) with a recessed safety cover to keep it clean and warm, and features a spillover hot tub. Enjoy a game of corn hole on the lawn, relax in a hammock, or say hello to the neighbors' goats over the fence. In the winter, enjoy your favorite wineries and sites without the traffic and crowds and relax back at the farmhouse with a glass of wine in front of a cozy gas fireplace.
