They try really hard to make you feel comfy and they do it well. They are also aware that you obviously need some space so they were not overwhelming. I really enjoyed my stay. Our super cozy Sonoma studio nestled on a twelve acre parcel has a welcoming living area, a comfortable king size bed, kitchen, and a recently refreshed bathroom. Self check in for privacy and social distancing. Home is cleaned and disinfected for 24 hours between guests, including all surfaces, sheets, towels, bedspreads, etc. This studio is a perfect wine country retreat, located about 4.4 miles from Sonoma Square, 3.7 miles to Glen Ellen, and surrounded by a multitude of wineries.

The studio has been recently refreshed with new hardwood floors and new paint throughout. This open space studio includes a king size bed, living room area, kitchen, AC & heat. Kitchen includes, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee cups, glasses, and coffee machine.
Guest access:
The driveway gate will most likely be open. If not, please open the gate manually. Drive down the long driveway and you will see an Airstream to the left. The studio is to the right of the airstream and is nestled next to the main house. It has its own separate entrance and is private.
Location
The studio is on a 12 acre parcel and private but still really close to Route 12, the main road in Sonoma. Uber, Lyft, and taxis are readily available. We are located on the border of Sonoma and Glen Ellen in an area called Valley of the Moon. This is the starting point of wineries from Sonoma to Glen Ellen to Kenwood and all the way up to Russian River, and Healdsburg.

Important details:
1) We can never accommodate more than 2 guests per stay at any given time. The violation penalties are set at its maximum and though we would hate to exercise this, we will if put in the position
2) In the Covid-19 climate, there will be no accommodations for early check-in/ late check out.
3) We are in the country. Expect to see many 0-8 legged friends, like snakes, lizards, spiders, etc. If you are skittish about this, our cottage is not right for you.
4) DO NOT leave heat or AC on while you are out.
5) We love animals. We cannot host your pets. We have our 2 dogs on the property and will be in our own space and backyard
6) Please note that the studio is next to the main house. My husband and I do live in the main house and you may hear our pups every so often from the backyard.
7) The studio is not kid friendly.

This charming unit is on my home property. It is comfortable for a single person or a couple. The patio is inviting & neighbors are friendly. A sweet home away from home feel.

Kitchen is recently remodeled and the living space has a comfortable seating area and dining nook. The bedroom, which has a queen size bed, and bathroom are both very spacious. There is a nice amount of storage space in the bedroom and bathroom.

A hairdryer is available for use in the bathroom. The bedroom closet has an iron and tabletop ironing board available. The kitchen includes a Keurig coffee maker.

The patio and garden are a great place to sit, enjoy a glass of wine or drink and watch friendly neighbors out walking their dogs. The patio table and chairs are perfect for outdoor dining.

It's a quiet neighborhood, but not overly quiet--the neighbors are friendly and people are always out walking their dogs.

There are restaurants, bars, coffee house and small markets within walking distance! Also, just 1 minute walk from the apartment is the Sonoma Mission Inn Spa which is wonderful for a day of pampering and enjoying the thermal pools.

The parking is on the street, but you will be able to park right in front of the rental.

The space
Our super cozy, serene cottage sits on five acres and is connected to a second cottage separated by a utility room. It's very quiet out here and you're surrounded by mid-century vintage furnishings inside and wild Sonoma outside. Enjoy your morning coffee outside and at dusk, watch the sunset with a glass of wine.

Other things to note
We try to keep coffee and all its accompanying needs, tea, and snacks in the fridge for your use. This isn't always available, but we try.

My co-host is Holly. She's the yin to my yang. She's extroverted, I'm introverted. She's kind, loves people, and will chat anyone up and I still like her in spite of it all. Holly lives on-site, right next door to this cottage. You will hear her in the laundry room and see her around. She will be your main point of contact.

In addition to Holly, you may see the farm's caretakers around, so don't be alarmed.

We will not accommodate any wedding-related/ event-related reservations. We will not accommodate bridal & groom preparation, hair, make-up, food-prep, act as a holding space, parking space for photoshoots, photographs, or anything which requires multiple trades to be on site.

There is no kitchen. There is a kitchenette with a microwave. There is no toaster. We have basic dishware and silverware, wine glasses, mugs, and a carafe to make coffee.

We happily use a local mom & pop internet provider, thus the internet is OK at best. IF YOU REQUIRE ACCESS TO RELIABLE, HIGH-SPEED INTERNET, OUR COTTAGE IS NOT RIGHT FOR YOU. please make sure you are aware of this and you're ok with it before you decide to stay here.

WE CAN NEVER, NEVER, NEVER accommodate more than TWO guests per stay, at any given time. The violation penalties are set at their maximum and though we would hate to exercise this, we will if necessary.

Our TV is smart TV only. We do not have channels. You will need a Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Vudu account to watch anything.

We are 6.3 miles or 15-20 from the Sonoma Town Center. Our bungalow will best suit those who are OK with this and the short drive into town. If you are looking for a walkable, hustle-bustle space, our bungalow is not for you. If you are looking for relaxing and quiet, our cottage is perfect for you.

Our neighbors have livestock: cows and horses. They sometimes smell like livestock, though there are also occasions when all of Sonoma smell of what the locals call, "The Sonoma Aroma”. If you are overly sensitive to smells, our cottage is not right for you.

We are in the country. This means we have critters and insects. We have flies, lots of them. Keeping your doors close and screened windows open will mitigate the flies. Some other critters we have are yellow jackets (we set traps out every season but we never can get them all), spiders, frogs, ants, lizards, beetles, other insects, mice. To keep out mice and ants, don’t leave food around. The mice have some entry points we’ve not been able to find and once in a while, one makes its way inside.

Our electric grid is very sensitive. You may not leave the heater or AC on while you are out. Sometimes guests do this because they want to come back to a warm/ cool cottage, which is understandable, but out here, it's not possible. We are on a small grid and leaving a major appliance on all day with cause a power outage, which means NO WATER as our well relies on electricity. If the AC or heat is left on, I WILL HAVE TO GO INSIDE YOUR COTTAGE AND TURN IT OFF.

Beautiful and large cabin on 50+ acres at the top of the mountain range that separates Sonoma & Napa valleys. Enjoy a loft bedroom, full bathroom, hiking trails, and an amazing deck (over 1000 sq feet) with mountain top views!

The space
The cabin is a full size cabin with loft bedroom and private bathroom that offers a perfect getaway for two. The sofa upstairs can fold out into a sofa bed if more than two guests. The cabin offers amazing views from the deck of Sonoma Valley and has amazing sunset views. Enjoy a glass of wine while walking through the orchard, picking fruit, or enjoying vegetables from one of our gardens. The cabin is well lit up with double sliding glass doors and a custom piece of redwood which provides a beautiful bar for drinks or a bite to eat. Enjoy the over sized deck which wraps around the cabin and offers beautiful views of Sonoma Valley & the sunset.

The back deck is over-sized and just off the back deck there are 20+ fruit trees full of pears, nectarines, plums, and apples. Guests are welcome to take home as much fruit as they can when it is blossoming during the summer.

The kitchen is small with limited capacity. for cooking there is a Toaster oven, microwave, hot plate, 8" camper stove, electric kettle, and a BBQ outside which is easily accessible when not raining.

Guests will have to enter through our protected gate which will be opened for guests upon reservation. Drive around the pond, and you'll see the cabin at the end of the driveway. The cabin will be open for you upon arrival with keys inside for you to use during your stay. There staircase inside the cabin leading up to the loft is 30" wide.

The space
Before you arrive, we are available to help you customize your trip with the perfect wineries, restaurants, or fun wine country activities! We also have an extensive list of private wine drivers and wine tours . When you arrive, we will greet you and give you all the in’s and out’s of the property and the cottage so that you are settled and ready to enjoy your time here. If you are not comfortable with us greeting you, we have a self check in letter with instructions. We have a bottle of our award winning wine for you to enjoy, and more if you like it! !Our cottage is a 525 square foot, very cozy space.

The bedroom has a luxurious queen bed with an adjustable base and premium linens. A spacious walk-in closet is stocked with extra blankets,towels, a dresser, and an iron with ironing board.

The bathroom has a walk in shower. We have soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, make up remover, and many other items for you.

The main room has a big comfy couch with a blanket. There is full cable TV and some games to play. There is a realistic electric fireplace for those cozy nights on the couch!We also have a food prep area for you with a refrigerator, microwave and the ability to cook hot meals. We have dishes, glasses, utensils, and anything else you may need if you choose to eat in. Sonoma Market is just a minute away and is the best market here (way better than Whole Foods). In the summertime, please feel free to make a caprese salad with our extensive selection of home grown heirloom tomatoes and basil. There are also peppers and much more. We have complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks for you to get your day started off right.

The property is about 2/3 of an acre and you are welcome to use any part of it. We have olive, orange, lemon, pomegranate, apple, and other trees on the property. Relaxin in the lounge chairs with sweeping hillside views and spot hawks and other local wildlife. Our outdoor bar “Ocean Beach” is a cozy spot for a drink or watching a game on the big screen TV!

We take great pride in our recommendations for wineries and food and are most happy when you are having a spectacular time. If you are here in the Fall, you may be lucky enough to “get ur hands dirty” and participate in our winemaking (its really fun, and you will get a new appreciation of wine). If you like, we can at least give you a tour of our winemaking facility and a quick lesson.

Steve is a skilled woodworker and makes many crafts with wine barrels and reclaimed wood. These items are for sale at much cheaper than internet prices. Ask to see what is currently available and bring home a little bit of Sonoma!🍷

CLEANLINESS: In these modern times, we know that cleanliness is on your minds. We want you to know that we personally clean and sanitize our cottage between all visits. All surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant. Our sheets and towels are laundered at the highest settings. We take this very seriously and perform the work ourselves so that we know that it is done thoroughly and correctly per the CDC cleaning guidelines.

We know that you are coming to the wine country to relax, take in our beautiful area and have a great time. It is our goal and commitment to make sure that happens!!!! Remember, when you are staying with us, you are not guests, you’re family!

We do not charge a cleaning fee like most other rentals. That way, when you book, the price you see is what you pay. Things you’ll want to know about the Space:

It's a unique layout — 2 neat, cozy bedrooms, one bath, your own fully fenced garden, and a lovely patio — designed to accommodate a party of 1-4 guests. A perfect place for a small group —couple(s), friends, family, or associates.

The two Airbnb Bedrooms are located behind an entry gate and fully fenced yard, but they are private and separate from each other. They're connected through a lovely garden pathway that leads from the Main Studio/Bathroom to the Cottage and Patio, which includes outdoor table/seating.

Guests enjoy their coffee, glass of wine, breakfast treats, or take-out Pizza here. The Patio offers a peaceful setting for conversation, meditation, listening to the birds sing their hearts out, or gazing at the stars.

*From the cozy Cottage/Patio, it's only a 24-SECOND (less than 1/2 minute) walk through the fully fenced private garden pathway to the easily accessible, private Guest Bathroom, located inside, next to the Main Studio.

*There is no full kitchen but, each bedroom has a mini-fridge, electric hot water kettle, coffee/tea, bottled and electrolyte/alkaline water, healthy breakfast bars, and instant oatmeal.

Air Conditioner/Heater are installed in both Main Studio and Cottage bedrooms, including Hi-Speed WIFI, and Cable TV.

* We use earth-friendly soaps, shampoo, organic, light/non-fragrance cleaning products. Since some guests may be sensitive to heavy scents, we thank you for not using them in the space. And we also thank you for not smoking on the property.

The host/owners, Madeleine and Roy, live in the Main House on their own private side of the property, with their friendly little Bichon pup.

FYI: We live in the main house with the orange terra cotta front door, but usually come and go through an entry on the other side of the house/double driveway, in order to maintain everyone's privacy.

Host and guest dwellings are separate and sound proofed.

Your Entire Guest Space is private, with its own entry gate, garden, patio, and is enclosed within a fully fenced yard.

The entrance to the Main Studio and Bathroom is three short steps up on your right, to a small deck and a Purple Door with a little heart on it.

Our friendly, fluffy little Poodle/Bichon pup, lives with us in the main house, separate from the studio and cottage.

On the other side of the main house is the RADIO MAGIC Voice Over and Music Studio, founded by your Super Host and Voice Over coach, Madeleine. Madeleine is the author of "How to Be a Voice Over Success!" For over 25 years, she has coached and trained professionals and scores of voice over students/talents.
Roy is a legendary musician drummer, and one of the founders of The Blues Project.

From here, we are minutes away from cafes, an ice cream shop, the Fruit Basket, a wine bar, popular late-night Mexican food trucks, and the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, which has a Spa, restaurant, wine bar, and swimming pool.

As you get closer to your arrival, I'll send more recommendations for favorite local restaurants on the historic Sonoma Plaza, wineries, indoor/outdoor activities.

We're about a 2-mile drive away from Sonoma Plaza. Walking, Uber, or nearby buses are other options for getting there. There is parking on/around the Plaza.

Shandon Oaks is a secluded retreat about a mile-and-a-quarter from The Plaza and several of Sonoma's most historic wineries.

The spacious one bedroom cottage features garden seating areas under shady sycamores in front and a garden patio in the back.

We are close to all the historic Plaza has to offer: restaurants, wine tastings, the Sonoma Mission and barracks and numerous wineries in a quiet, private country setting. The Plaza is approximately 1.5 miles away. About a 5-minute drive.

Guests enjoy a separate, private cottage, a zen garden with outdoor seating and an outdoor area with a table and chairs. Off street parking for two vehicles.

Kitchenette features a sink, small, under-counter refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, coffee maker and toaster, but no stove, oven or other cooking facilities. Bathroom features a clawfoot tub with shower. It is NOT a walk-in shower. Not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Our three room cottage has a patio off the bedroom and kitchen. There is a shower over tub. The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. There is a new gas stove and oven. The patio has an oak bench, a couple of comfortable outdoor chairs and a small table with two matching chairs for enjoying morning coffee or evening glass of wine.

The cottage is set away from our house. You cross a bridge and enter through your own entrance. Parking is in the driveway adjacent to the cottage.

Our home and compound is situated on the most desirable street (Castle Road) in Sonoma Valley! We offer three acres of a park-like setting with your private cottage nestled alongside an old Mission olive orchard. The neighborhood could not be better, situated on a cul-de-sac with minimal vehicle traffic and peaceful, relaxing nights. At the end of Castle road, within walking distance, is Bartholomew Park that features the oldest premium vineyard site in California, a winery you will definitely want to visit, and hiking trails with magnificent views plus guided horseback riding is you'd like!
Nearby, within walking distance, is Buena Vista winery, the oldest winery in California and the historic Sonoma Plaza featuring dozens of winery tasting rooms, shops, restaurants and historic buildings dating back to the earliest days of pioneer California!

In addition to the entire cottage guests will have access to the pool/cantina area, vineyard, etc. The laundry room may be used by scheduling an arrangement with the host.

Note: Broadband signals in general are problematic everywhere now. Too many connected devices, apparently, is the explanation.

Basically this guest house (not attached to main residence) is like a luxurious hotel room. Although there is not a kitchen there is a coffee sink and small refrigerator as well as a Weber gas grill on the patio in the private yard that backs up to a winter creek with views to vineyard beyond.

As you step through the entrance and under the arch, you are transformed into another time and place. We have been told by guests they feel it reminds them of Italy, France, and Spain. The Hacienda is very private, behind the walls of the early California style home. The gardens are lush and filled with birds of all kinds. There are several vignettes to relax and watch nature. Nights are cool so there is no need for A/C if you leave window open at night.

The Hacienda was built by our own blood, sweat, and joy. You will feel transformed to another era as you step into the sheltering walls on the 4 acre adobe compound that includes a barn and vineyard . We are told by people who walk through the gates that they feel like they are in the south of France, Italy, or Mexico.

The view of the grounds is full of tropical plants and colors. There are lush gardens and pathways to roam on and enjoy seasonal plants and birds.

The sunsets are heavenly as the light changes to a warm golden hue that is so beautiful that you try to absorb every moment with your eyes or a camera. A romantic cottage retreat in a colorful Sonoma country setting that is close to the historic Sonoma Plaza by 1 mile. Tropical gardens, quiet, relaxing, colorful and one-of-a-kind. It is an experience to be remembered.

You will feel transformed to another era as you step into the sheltered walls of the compound. It is in a quiet neighborhood just outside the city limits, yet close enough to the historic Sonoma Plaza to be extremely convenient.

YOUR COTTAGE

The Casita has thick plastered walls with rich colors reminiscent of old Europe and a fireplace to get cozy by. The floors are all heated and the 3 rooms are built with old beams and vaulted ceilings.

The Casita has a sitting room, with a cute kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave coffee pot, stocked with dishes, wine glasses. The ,bathroom is spacious with heated floors and has two pro ate windows.

The walls are made from a green product and are 12 inches thick, so it stays warm at night yet cool on hot days when you open the windows t night and close them in the day.

Old and new come together: there are French doors in both rooms that overlook the garden, European fixtures, large Mexican tile shower for two with a window that opens to red geraniums and wisteria.

Guest access
Guests have access to any of the many lawn, garden, and patio areas. The main house is occupied by the hosts. The pool is always available for our guests of both casita and the studio.

We’ve built our home for privacy and quietness with the enjoyment of nature and outdoors. We live in a rural country setting and our property is most fitting for guests who love nature in its fullness. The walls are 12" thick and well insulated. Since the nights are cool we do not need air conditioning. We just open our doors and windows at night and close them during the day. But if needed we do have an air conditioner for extremely hot days that can be put in.

Spend the rest of the morning shopping on the plaza, visiting the celebrated Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, take an art class at the community center, bicycle through the vineyards on the bike path, shop at the fresh organic vegetable stands, enjoy cheese tastings at the two cheese factories, sit in the Plaza and watch the ducks, gather gourmet delights from the multiple specialty shops, visit the winery tasting rooms to pick the perfect afternoon wine choice to go with your picnic lunch, and it is all within a two-block radius of our house.

The evenings in Sonoma are filled with exquisite dining, jazz, and dancing in Plaza restaurants. Choose from Italian, Thai, California Cuisine, Mexican, Indian, Irish Pub, and French restaurants just a walk away. Catch live theater or walk over to the Sebastiani theater for an art movie. You do not even need your car once you are settled in. The cottage has one bedroom as well as a pull out in the living room and can accommodate up to four people. It has a fully-equipped kitchen and several amenities to make your stay a memorable one.

Relax and sip a glass of wine on your porch and enjoy the lush outdoor grounds in the beautiful wine country.

ADDITIONAL TAX DUE:
