This estate has a rich past—originally a private hunting lodge in the 1950's and ’60's, it’s now being made available to the public for the very first time. We’re currently collaborating with the San Lorenzo Valley Museum to document more of its hidden history.

For the last 40 years, it’s been home to former executives from Apple, Oracle, HP, Adobe, Nvidia, and Motorola. The home has been thoughtfully remodeled to the highest standards, while preserving its original charm, including the wood-look natural gas fireplace in the main lodge.

The space
We have a new Construction as of 2013 solar powered 3 Bedroom 2 1/2 bath craftsman style house perfectly located in between Capitola and Santa Cruz.

Our listing is located right down the hill from the Chaminade Resort. If our house does not accommodate everyone in your party you have a resort within a mile for any additional guests.

Also we are only 2 miles away / five minute drive to the Harbor beaches as well as Capitola Village.

There are many wonderful hiking trails that are in close proximity.

We have a spacious dining area as well as charming breakfast nook.

Casa de weeks is stocked with the basic things that you would need. Laundry
detergent,shampoo, towels, fresh linens, ETC.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you would need for entertaining. The outdoor patio is equipped with a gas grill & comfy chairs for relaxing!

We have a spacious master Suite located upstairs with a king size bed and a large bathroom with a freestanding soaking tub and large double shower.

Our house can accommodate up to seven people or more depending if you have small children. There is also a very comfortable large sectional sofa that can be used for sleeping. The bedrooms and living areas are private.

This is a spacious 2,400 square foot newly constructed custom home. It is perfect for family gatherings as well as entertaining. If you want a spacious home close to everything Santa Cruz has to offer this is the perfect home for you!

Welcome to the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains and our home. Our private charming cabin is amidst a beautiful rustic garden setting. It is cozy and quiet, yet within 20 minutes of Santa Cruz.

Enjoy the tranquility of our outdoor bathroom with claw foot bathtub and shower and environmentally friendly composting toilet.

Kitchen includes a two burner stove, fridge, and toaster oven.

Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

The space
Our home is located in the San Lorenzo Valley in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is a very unique area where Redwoods and Oaks meet Ponderosa Pines. Many mountain trails are nearby, great for hiking, biking, and camping.
Have a dip on a hot summer day in the San Lorenzo River, which flows nearby, (five minutes by foot).
The studio is designated dog/cat free. A perfect space for people who deal with animal allergies.
Adjoining the studio is a large deck with sunset views of the local mountains, a greta spot to enjoy a home cooked meal or takeout from one of our nearby restaurants.

Guest access
The bus to Santa Cruz stops directly in front of our driveway. The supermarket is a ten minute walk to town. Health food markets are in nearby Boulder Creek or Felton.
Our Airbnb guests have their own designated parking spot off the street. A second car would have to be up at the road.

Other things to note
Fyi, while you are visiting we won't be using the deck, other than maybe watering the plants. So please enjoy

For those of you who have never used a composting toilet, it is so easy:

1. When you use the toilet please don’t put any sanitary products, i.e. pads, tampons, diapers… into the toilet.
2. After using the toilet, cover waste and toilet paper with saw dust from the white pail.

If you only stay for a couple of nights we will take care of the toilet after your departure.
If you stay longer and/ or want to clean the toilet yourself:

3. When the toilet (pink bucket) is 2/3 full, empty it into the wooden compost bin behind the outdoor bathroom.
4. Cover the contents in wooden compost bin completely with additional sawdust from black plastic trashcan.
5. Rinse the pink bucket well (water hose next to back bathroom door) and add 3” sawdust and replace under the toilet seat.

When you book please know that we are in the mountains and the WIFI is not like it is in the city. It is spotty and slow and works great some days but not others. If you are coming to work, it will be slow but you can pay to tap into the city wifi. This is $10 and I have never done it but a previous guest has.

The murphy bed with couch is one piece of furniture. The couch is available for use when the bed is up against the wall. When the bed comes down, the couch disappears. There is only a queen bed for sleeping.

Our quiet guest cottage sits well behind the house in the lush back garden. It is well located in a central residential area, walking distance to great restaurants, and a short bike ride to beach or downtown. Cute bathroom with unique shower, modern efficiency kitchen, cozy gas fireplace. Have coffee on the patio under the trees!

The space
The cottage is an open studio space, it is a cozy 300 sq ft that has most everything you need.
Brand new queen bed is more on the firm side, with organic cotton sheets, down comforter.
Desk and other furniture can be arranged to suit your individual needs.
Bathroom has a stand up shower that is a converted trough. Guests should be able to step over the 2.5 foot height to enter shower.
Kitchenette is efficiency style, with a toaster oven, full fridge, microwave, sink.

Guest access
Free wifi, flat screen TV, Hulu and Apple TV (no cable), washer and dryer. Guests are welcome to relax or have dinner in the big backyard. There is a gas grill for guests on the back patio.

Other things to note
We have 3 dogs that mostly like to be inside, but will occasionally be in the yard. I will try to intercept their enthusiasm when they meet you :)
Our beautiful kitty wanders the yard, you may hear her on the cottage roof.

Our cozy room has a private entrance and private bathroom. Located in a quiet, residential area. We are 10 minutes from the beach in Santa Cruz, 40 min. (depending on traffic) from Monterey, 10 min. from the Redwoods and San Francisco in a little over an hour. Our backyard is home to many a bird and squirrel; a private deck which is a delightful place to have your coffee in the morning if you wish. A BBQ is available and an outdoor eating area. We're minutes from 1440 Conference Center.

The space
The room entrance is up the driveway and to the right in our backyard. There are two steps up on to the deck and the entrance is a sliding French door. It has a queen bed, recliner, television, mini frig, Keurig and microwave. Outdoor space for relaxing and sitting.

The bedroom and private bathroom is yours and the backyard is open for you.

We have one cat. Her name is Jazzy. We are not set up for children or pets to come and stay though we love them. Our steps up to the airbnb do not have a railing.

THURSDAY NIGHT BEACH PARTIES AT THE CROW’S NEST
Each Summer on Thursday evenings, the Crow’s Nest offers its Summer Beach Party series with fun and funky live entertainment right on the beach. The party starts at 5:30 pm each week and goes until sunset. With live entertainment on the outdoor beach stage and Crow’s Nest’s famous BBQ and outdoor bar, beach parties are a unique and popular event. Families are welcome, and there is no admission charge! After the sun sets the fun begins upstairs with dancing to the best of local live bands beginning at 8:30 pm with only a $5 cover charge.

CAPITOLA TWILIGHT CONCERT SERIES
Popular local bands rouse fun-loving crowds on Wednesday evenings in the Capitola Village. The free Twilight Concert Series features everything from classic rock to funk to dance hits and Latin fusion. All concerts are 6pm – 8pm and take place at the Esplanade bandstand with ocean views in the picturesque Capitola Village. Enjoy the performance from your own low-back chair on the beach or grab an outside table at one of the village restaurants.

Come Celebrate all the vibrancy of Midtown at our Summer Block Party, happening every Friday! Food – Artists – Live Music – Vendors! The summer series of free events will feature the talents of 30+ local bands. In addition to live music, event goers will enjoy a selection of local eats as well as the opportunity to check out the work of local artists and vendors. Midtown Fridays starts May 31 and runs through to August 30. Our cozy home is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood with street lights. There is easy access to local parks & trails and it is less than 2 miles from beaches & the harbor. The space share walls with our main home where we live with our family. The room has its own private entrance, kitchenette (separate from the main room), bathroom, and a private patio with a table & chairs. With south-facing windows, you can enjoy the sunshine, or use our black-out curtains for rest when needed.

The space
Our home has a small 1/10th acre regenerative garden on it that is used to teach about climate resilient edible landscapes in the greater Santa Cruz County community. The private rental has its entrance opposite the main residence entryway with self check-in details provided for access. It has a couch, queen-size bed, table with two chairs, basic hanging rack for clothes and suitcases, and a kitchenette to enjoy while using the space.

Guest access
There is a side yard where you can park bikes or put your beach toys and surfboard to enjoy on the water. There is a security camera that records at night the area of the driveway where vehicles are parked.
