The lounge restaurant was closed for a high school reunion so that was back luck for me. On the positive the bed was probably the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in. Located between San Jose and Santa Cruz, it's just 12 miles to the beaches and famous boardwalk, with attractions like Loch Lomond Reservoir and Quail Hollow Ranch right near this Tree Top View Cabin. Leave all the hubbub behind and unwind at this charming retreat in the woods.

Three flights of stairs assure a gorgeous view, but they also might be difficult for those with any mobility issues. But once you reach the welcoming front porch, you'll have a perfect outdoor spot for reading a book or sipping morning coffee.

This Felton cabin boasts tall ceilings, a woodstove, comfortable furniture, and even WiFi so you can stay in touch. Entertainment amenities include cable TV and a DVD player so you'll be able to gather everyone around for an after-dinner movie.

You'll have a full kitchen for delicious vacation. At night there are two bedrooms with a queen and a full bed, and one full bathroom. Up to four guests will be able to stay comfortably here. And if you want to bring your dogs, please be advised that dogs need to stay off of the couch and bedding. Because of the size of this unit, bigger dogs may be more comfortable on the deck.

Tranquility Base is located 15 minutes from downtown Felton and the community of Mount Hermon. Drive time to the city of Santa Cruz is 25 minutes. You will be 25-30 minutes from the closest beaches/Boardwalk. (Dependant on time of day/day of week) Roaring Camp Railroad is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The beautiful Loch Lomond Rec Area is a 10 minute drive from the cabin. (Open Mid-March - September)

Deep in the heart of the redwoods and ferns with a creek running alongside the winding road, you will experience the fresh, fragrant air and step into another world.

Tranquility Base is a 625 sq ft cabin with high ceilings in all but the bathroom. The livingroom features a gas powered fireplace. The front bedroom has a queen bed, skylight, dresser, small table/chairs. In this closet there is a travel play pen.
The den has a queen bed, dresser, closet and shares a common door with the bathroom.

No laundry facility onsite.

There are 31 steps up from the parking area to the cabin, but no stairs inside.

There is a large front deck at cabin level with a fire fixture, tables, chairs, umbrellas, fountain. Located in a quiet neighborhood near the end of the
road. The houses are rather far apart. The cabin is up off of the road which gives you a tree house view and total privacy.

Free-range crawlers and toddlers must be supervised as this is not a 'baby-proofed' venue..

This is not a 'rager party house', as the neighborhood quiet time is 10pm to 8am. Caretaker lives nearby. If you have any questions during your stay, please feel free to call.

The Humble Sea Brewery, Cowboy Dinner, Empire Grill, Redwood Organic pizza and Round Table are also in town.

This quintessential California beach town is a mecca for surfers and sun-worshippers, but also has something for everyone. Families love visiting the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, while nature lovers appreciate the area's many unspoiled beaches.

Santa Cruz is a popular place for summertime recreation, from volleyball to boating and hiking. The breathtaking scenery and refreshing sea breezes make this stretch of California's Central Coast especially appealing.

HIKING

There’s a lot to love about Santa Cruz but perhaps one of the biggest draws to this coastal town is just how much nature there is to explore within the county.

The great thing about the hiking trails in Santa Cruz is how different they are from each other. You could be hiking along a windswept coastal trail one minute and then be in the midst of a redwood forest in just a 20-minute drive.

Since Santa Cruz County takes up a relatively small area, it's amazing how diverse it is and how many different types of hikes you can find within its county lines.

You can expect to find old-growth redwoods, enchanted forests, waterfalls, and some breathtaking scenic views on the California Coast.

Coast redwood trees are the tallest trees on the planet. They can grow to 300 feet high or more, as compared to the tallest pine tree at 268 feet or the tallest tanoak at 162 feet.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

While surfing may have first put Santa Cruz on the map, there’s a landlocked sport that’s been gaining traction and attracting international attention over the last couple decades. The epicenter of mountain biking sits right here in “Surf City” with year-round riding conditions and world-class trails just minutes from the property.

Our area has phenomenal Mountain biking. Head up Old San Jose and turn right on Summit. About a mile down on the right you with find the Demo.

The Soquel Demonstration Forest, also known as "Demo," is home to a series of mountain biking trails. Many of the singletrack trails course down ridges, largely on old logging road cuts created when the forest was first logged beginning in the 1930s. These routes were adopted as part of the recreational trail network when Cal Fire acquired the property in the early 1990s. Additional singletrack trails were established through Cal Fire's collaborations with local mountain biking clubs in 2000 (Braille Trail) and 2015 (Flow Trail). The trails have grown into some of the most popular in the California Bay Area and attract bikers from around the world.

Haven't had enough at the Demo then head down the hill from our place and hop on the 1 Highway south a few exits to Nisene Marks.

The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park is a state park of California protecting a secondary forest in the watershed of Aptos Creek and Soquel Creek within the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is located outside Aptos, California and contains over 40 miles of hiking trails and fire roads through 10,223 acres of variable terrain.

The park is a popular spot for running, hiking, and horseback riding. Additionally, it is a common location for mountain biking, which can be done on several trails including the Aptos Rancho Trail, Split Stuff Trail, Terrace Trail, and Vienna Woods Trail

SURFING

Santa Cruz is one of the top surfing destinations in California. Situated 85 minutes drive out of San Fransisco, the city of Santa Cruz boasts some beautiful coastline that is well worthy of a visit, especially if you are a surfer.

The area is known for its moderate climate and beach going, alternative lifestyles. Nicknamed Surf City, Santa Cruz has 11 world-class surf breaks that are really worth checking out including point breaks over Steamer Lane and Pleasure Point, which it could be argued are some of the best surfing waves in the world.

With waves that are suited to all levels of surfer, Santa Cruz has something for everyone, from those that have never stepped foot on a surfboard to those who have devoted their entire lives to riding waves. Of course, with some of the biggest waves, visitors who are not familiar with some of the more fierce swells should take some time to familiarize themselves with the more dangerous spots before they start surfing Santa Cruz..

Other Santa Cruz Surf Spots

If you take a short drive up on Highway 1, you’ll come across lots of hidden surfing gems that are often breaking such as Ano Neubo or Waddle Creek State Beach. These more secluded spots are a bit off the beaten path and as such you’ll find them to be less crowded than the major beaches closer to the city. If you want a more chilled out feel to your days surfing Santa Cruz, this route may be the way to go.

Surfboard Hire in Santa Cruz

Westside Surf & Skate is a great place in Santa Cruz to fulfil all your surf-related needs.

Cowells Surf Shop Santa Cruz also offers a good selection of board rentals. A full day hire will set you back about $30. They have a wide selection of beginner boards from 5 ft.-11 ft. foam logs to NSP epoxy’s to fiberglass boards. There are also some higher performance boards available to rent for an extra cost per day.

The Forest Cabins have 1 foam logs (surfboard) and 4 boogie boards that our guests are invited to borrow. Also available to borrow are beach chairs, beach towels, sunscreen and beach umbrellas.

SEALIFE

As part of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, sea life is abundant in and around Santa Cruz County. Throughout the year it is possible to see sightings of common porpoises, humpback whales, sea lions, seals, and the ever-present sea otters. Seen from the deck of a sailboat, in the seat of a kayak, on a sixty-foot catamaran, or by land, there are a multitude of ways to watch marine life play in this watery world. Welcome aboard.

Summer and Fall: Blue Whales, Humpbacks (although in the past few years, Humpbacks are proving to be year-round in the Monterey Bay)

Year-Round: Orcas. The best time to view is April as they follow the migration pattern of Gray Whales.

Other marine animals you may spot: Blue Shark, Great White Sharks, Sun Fish, Common and Risso’s Dolphins, Sea Otters.

The great thing about the hiking trails in Santa Cruz is how different they are from each other. You could be hiking along a windswept coastal trail one minute and then be in the midst of a redwood forest in just a 20-minute drive.

Since Santa Cruz County takes up a relatively small area, it's amazing how diverse it is and how many different types of hikes you can find within its county lines.

You can expect to find old-growth redwoods, enchanted forests, waterfalls, and some breathtaking scenic views on the California Coast.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

While surfing may have first put Santa Cruz on the map, there’s a landlocked sport that’s been gaining traction and attracting international attention over the last couple decades. The epicenter of mountain biking sits right here in “Surf City” with year-round riding conditions and world-class trails just minutes from the property.

Our area has phenomenal Mountain biking. Head up Old San Jose and turn right on Summit. About a mile down on the right you with find the Demo.

The Soquel Demonstration Forest, also known as "Demo," is home to a series of mountain biking trails. Many of the singletrack trails course down ridges, largely on old logging road cuts created when the forest was first logged beginning in the 1930s. These routes were adopted as part of the recreational trail network when Cal Fire acquired the property in the early 1990s. Additional singletrack trails were established through Cal Fire's collaborations with local mountain biking clubs in 2000 (Braille Trail) and 2015 (Flow Trail). The trails have grown into some of the most popular in the California Bay Area and attract bikers from around the world.

Haven't had enough at the Demo then head down the hill from our place and hop on the 1 Highway south a few exits to Nisene Marks.

The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park is a state park of California protecting a secondary forest in the watershed of Aptos Creek and Soquel Creek within the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is located outside Aptos, California and contains over 40 miles of hiking trails and fire roads through 10,223 acres of variable terrain.

The park is a popular spot for running, hiking, and horseback riding. Additionally, it is a common location for mountain biking, which can be done on several trails including the Aptos Rancho Trail, Split Stuff Trail, Terrace Trail, and Vienna Woods Trail

SURFING

Santa Cruz is one of the top surfing destinations in California. Situated 85 minutes drive out of San Francisco, the city of Santa Cruz boasts some beautiful coastline that is well worthy of a visit, especially if you are a surfer.

The area is known for its moderate climate and beach going, alternative lifestyles. Nicknamed Surf City, Santa Cruz has 11 world-class surf breaks that are really worth checking out including point breaks over Steamer Lane and Pleasure Point, which it could be argued are some of the best surfing waves in the world.

With waves that are suited to all levels of surfer, Santa Cruz has something for everyone, from those that have never stepped foot on a surfboard to those who have devoted their entire lives to riding waves. Of course, with some of the biggest waves, visitors who are not familiar with some of the more fierce swells should take some time to familiarize themselves with the more dangerous spots before they start surfing Santa Cruz..

Other Santa Cruz Surf Spots
If you take a short drive up on Highway 1, you’ll come across lots of hidden surfing gems that are often breaking such as Año Nuevo or Waddle Creek State Beach. These more secluded spots are a bit off the beaten path and as such you’ll find them to be less crowded than the major beaches closer to the city. If you want a more chilled out feel to your days surfing Santa Cruz, this route may be the way to go.

Cowells Surf Shop Santa Cruz also offers a good selection of board rentals. A full day hire will set you back about $30. They have a wide selection of beginner boards from 5 ft.-11 ft. foam logs to NSP epoxy’s to fiberglass boards. There are also some higher performance boards available to rent for an extra cost per day.

The Forest Cabins have a foam log (surfboard) and 4 boogie boards that our guests are invited to borrow. Also available to borrow are beach chairs, beach towels, sunscreen and beach umbrellas.

SEALIFE

As part of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, sea life is abundant in and around Santa Cruz County. Throughout the year it is possible to see sightings of common porpoises, humpback whales, sea lions, seals, and the ever-present sea otters. Seen from the deck of a sailboat, in the seat of a kayak, on a sixty-foot catamaran, or by land, there are a multitude of ways to watch marine life play in this watery world. Welcome aboard.

December-April: Gray Whales. Peak viewing is from mid-January through mid-March.

Summer and Fall: Blue Whales, Humpbacks (although in the past few years, Humpbacks are proving to be year-round in the Monterey Bay)

Year-Round: Orcas. The best time to view is April as they follow the migration pattern of Gray Whales.

Other marine animals you may spot: Blue Shark, Great White Sharks, Sun Fish, Dolphins, and Sea Otters.

After taking a break from renting I am excited to reopen my doors to renters. Both the Cabin by the Sea, and the newly constructed ADU are available to rent on a monthly basis. Beautiful one mile stroll down West Cliff Dr to the famed Santa Cruz Lighthouse. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. Enjoy the outside fire pit, gas barbecue, local hiking/ biking trails. Both Wilder Ranch & Natural Bridges State Beach surround this beautiful historic log cabin.

- "Came to visit family and had plenty of room to sit and have a meal, enjoy the deck. Beautiful area, house has everything you need if you decide to eat in. The space
This is a two-story home with ample space. It is situated atop the hills with a magnificent view of the forest. Each of the four bedrooms on the first floor has direct access to a deck with a magnificent view of the woods. The second floor contains the kitchen, living room, and entertainment room. With yet another enormous deck, you have a magnificent view of the forest.
You also can utilize the office's breathtaking view of the entire valley.

- "The host, Ali, was great and accommodating. Thank you! He responded to questions quickly. After our stay there in early August, we agreed with the other reviews that it got too hot inside during the day without air conditioning. But the evenings did cool off and there was a supply of fans. Our biggest concern was that the cleaning service used perfumed laundry soap and cleaning products that were pretty strong smelling. We ended up re-washing all of the sheets beforehand to try and mitigate the smell for sleeping. But the bath towels were great and plentiful! They also did not do a great job cleaning. There were dog hairs on the living room furniture and a dead cockroach in the entry. A few lightbulbs had blown, most importantly the one in the stairwell to the downstairs bedrooms that got pretty dark at night. The toilet plumbing in the downstairs bathroom was fragile and one sink had no running water through the hot valve. Also, the listing featured a hot tub that was actually a tub sauna in the bathroom. But the decks were great, spacious, and beautiful views. And the neighborhood was quiet. We had a nice couple of days there. "

Formerly of San Francisco, Lara is a painter and kiln formed glass artist. Before retiring, she ran a glass art design company for 22 years Lara's creative curiosity stimulates her to always be exploring and making the world around her more beautiful. “Everything beautiful is Art, but nature is the ultimate Artist”. If you are interested in the local arts community and offerings Lara would love to share with you.

Emkay is happiest in Nature. As a child he was always playing in the dirt, climbing trees and getting lost in nature. Emkay worked as a nature camp counselor and later camp director for underserved NYC kids. He loved being in nature for the summer, but flourished teaching urban kids about nature.

Emkay and Lara met at a San Francisco cafe in 1994. Emkay was on a weekend leave from his job in Yosemite and Lara was selling her art in San Francisco. Fast forward 29 years of marriage and we’ve left busy San Francisco, started a family and ultimately moved to this gorgeous property to raise our 4 children in nature.

We love having guests from up the road and around the world visit this beautiful land we tend. We can't get enough of sharing what we know about the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Located between San Jose and Santa Cruz, it's just 12 miles to the beaches and famous boardwalk, with attractions like Loch Lomond Reservoir and Quail Hollow Ranch right near this Tree Top View Cabin. Leave all the hubbub behind and unwind at this charming retreat in the woods.

Three flights of stairs assure a gorgeous view, but they also might be difficult for those with any mobility issues. But once you reach the welcoming front porch, you'll have a perfect outdoor spot for reading a book or sipping morning coffee.

This Felton cabin boasts tall ceilings, a woodstove, comfortable furniture, and even WiFi so you can stay in touch. Entertainment amenities include cable TV and a DVD player so you'll be able to gather everyone around for an after-dinner movie.

You'll have a full kitchen for delicious vacation. At night there are two bedrooms with a queen and a full bed, and one full bathroom. Up to four guests will be able to stay comfortably here. And if you want to bring your dogs, please be advised that dogs need to stay off of the couch and bedding. Because of the size of this unit, bigger dogs may be more comfortable on the deck.

Lara, a San Francisco based kiln formed glass artist, developed her interest in art at an early age, learning art theory and techniques from her artist mother and then went on to study at the University. Lara's creative curiosity stimulates her to always be exploring and making the world around her more beautiful. “Everything beautiful is Art, but nature is the ultimate Artist”. If you are interested in the local arts community and offerings Lara would love to share with you.

Emkay is happiest in Nature. As a child he was always playing in the dirt, climbing trees and getting lost in nature. Emkay worked as a nature camp counselor and later camp director for NYC kids. He loved being in nature for the summer, but flourished teaching urban kids about nature.

Emkay and Lara met at a San Francisco cafe in 1994. Emkay was on a weekend leave from his job in Yosemite and Lara was selling her art on the streets of San Francisco. Fast forward 29 years of marriage and we left San Francisco life years ago, started a family and ultimately moved to this gorgeous property to raise our 4 children.

The beach is about a 20 minute drive. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and UCSC are 15 miles away. Camp Campbell is 3 miles up Highway 9 if you have a kiddo staying there and would like to be nearby : )
The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need to prepare meals.

You will have access to the entire house with a keycode, the fully fenced/enclosed front and back yard, and plenty of parking in the driveway. The front pathway from the driveway is paved, 3 small steps up into the house on the porch make it an ideal place for those that need an easily accessed home due to illness or disability. The home is fully fenced in if you have dogs. There is a large back deck for gathering, with a gate to keep your furry friends close. Or open the back deck gate and let them circle the property without getting out.

Other things to note
Animals are welcome at the Lilac Cabin! The yard is fully fenced. The home is also child friendly. There are no stairs inside the house which makes it easy to get around and no sloping from the driveway up to the house so it is also senior friendly. There is a large deck in the back with a gate to keep your furry friends near you.

The space
This 1950s log cabin-style home sits among redwoods on eight acres we call Ryder Rancheria.

Fully stocked for your stay, this cabin has a gas fireplace that lights and have a flame up and down setting. We have games and puzzles, wifi, TVs in every room, a stereo system, lighting, a fully stocked kitchen, and outdoor games.
Our rustic décor will remind you of home for the holidays with an American flare. Lots of detailed artist touches, without overcrowding the space.
We welcome dogs but ask that you never leave them alone in the space and place sheets on furniture and bedding covers when allowing dogs on them. We have extra sheets and dog covers in drawers.

Min split heating and AC unit in the main room, the remote is on the wall by the phone and kitchen bar. The remote for the gas fireplace is on the wall by the bedroom door. The instruction manual is left out by the welcome binder.

The property is powered by a Generac generator when PGandE is out.

We do not offer BBQ, but you are welcome to bring your own propane or electrical. No fire is allowed on the property.


On the property are 4 unique experiences that are overnight stays. You are in the Ryder Rancheria Log Cabin.


Down the right side driveway is the Ryder Rancheria Game Cabin and Ryder Rancheria Captain's Den and to the right of you is the Ryder Rancheria Royal Cottage. All a themed experience.
Stay in all four and make sure to visit Spa Santangelo, your co-host, Melissa's business of 17 yrs. The hidden gem of the Santa Cruz Mountains winner of the best of in Santa Cruz.

Guest access
Guest can access the front yard for parking, deck and full house. The laundry room can be used, we also use it. Hiking from cabin is possible up hill, you may run into neighbors. Jon owner may be around from time to time. Melissa is the co-host and contact, if you have questions. She is there from time to time as well.
Please no smoking or vaping inside cabin or on deck. You can smoke in the bbq area on the gravel. Please clean up after yourself. No incense at all!
Please note you are in a small neighborhood. We ask that if you interact with neighbors that you treat them with respect. You may meet them on the road or walking around. There is a neighbor that let's his dog chase your car. Please be respectful at all times when visiting. If I get a call that says otherwise, you may be asked to leave with no refund. Thank you!

Other things to note
We are dog friendly but require a $25.00 per pet fee. Pay this fee at booking by using the resolution center and then the send money button. Please never leave dogs unattended in the cabin or yard. Use an extra sheet (in drawers) when allowing your dog up on our bedding or couch. Make sure to clean up after your pet.

Over night guests over 4 persons are a $75.00 fee per guest. Please give us the correct number of people and pets in your reservation or you will need to pay these fees by using the resolution center and send money button. This cabin is located on 12 acres of pristine Redwood forest, surrounding my hawks, owls and rich ecosystems.
We have had many guests comment on insects and animals. Be aware that there is a possible spider web or potential mouse. We do our best to clean webs and trap mice. However, there might be one or two that we miss. If you are afraid of wild life or insects you may encounter them on our property.

Airbnb guests are not allowed to use space for elopements or weddings. There is a large fine if couples choose to do so. See rules or message for details.

This a unique and special place only 15 minute drive to Aptos Village and another 5 minute drive to the beach and miles of mountain bike trails in Nisene Marks Park. We are more than happy to share with you information about local destinations and recommendations.

Pets are welcome with additional $40 cleaning fee per pet. We ask that when you bring your four legged friends that you are aware of hair on bedding and shake it out before you leave. Also, please make sure that your pet does not leave any “messes” in the house. We have pet carpet spray under the sink in case a accident happens. We will ask that you replace and rugs, bedding or furniture that get ruined from your pet.

It's worth noting that our property operates off the grid, relying solely on solar power. While this sustainable approach is fantastic, power availability is finite. If the solar batteries happen to run low, lights may temporarily go out. Rest assured, if this occurs during essential hours (morning or evening), our generator will kick in automatically. To maintain the harmony of our off-grid system, kindly refrain from charging your electric vehicles. We're actively working on introducing an EV power station, so stay tuned for exciting updates!

Good news: we've recently upgraded our battery system, minimizing power-related concerns going forward. For more details on our robust power setup, feel free to reach out to us personally.

To stay connected, enjoy high-speed internet courtesy of Starlink. Enable Wi-Fi calling on your phone for seamless communication, whether you're making calls or using apps like FaceTime or other communication apps. Our home has gorgeous views of our famous redwood trees from every window. We even have two trees coming thru our deck that’s so peaceful to enjoy day or night. Only 15 min up the road , a beautiful ride thru the redwoods you can be at the fun beaches of Santa Cruz. It’s a great couples get away,a few friends or a small family vacation at this peaceful, beautiful setting in the redwoods.

The space
Need to get away for a peaceful,relaxing,beautiful home in the redwoods? This home is nestled in the redwoods with many lovely outdoor areas to enjoy with several decks. Also the home has a cozy fireplace and windows that bring the outside in. It’s the best of two worlds. In the redwoods and only 20 minutes drive to the beach. You are a mile to downtown Felton and Henry Cowells park for hiking. This home has gorgeous views from every window. Main house has queen bed and a smaller full size bed. There is a detach unit with a queen bed and own full bathroom if need more extra space.

Our home is set back from road. You will have some stairs to go down to get to house. Also to go from deck to deck there are stairs and to get to the lower yard area. You can access detach by going thru side gate. It has its own entrance.

Please note that we are taking precautions to keep our house disinfected and safe. Please be safe with using the propane tanks,candles,fireplaces and electric heaters. No pets r allowed. We would be open to early checkins or late checkouts if it’s possible on our end.

Other things to note
As the cabin is located in a residential neighborhood, it is intended for personal use only, i.e. no large gatherings or loud parties. Wedding day prep (hair, makeup, photography, wedding party) is totally fine, up to 12 people per our County permit.

We are located in an area that was evacuated during the 2020 CZU fires, so please use caution when enjoying the outdoor fire pits.

The cabin is stocked with four dog bowls for our furry friends. You can also find "dog towels" on the shelves next to the washer and dryer (behind the curtain in the smaller bedroom).

The thermostats for the mini-splits have been set to a maximum high of 78 degrees and low of 65.

Nestled among the towering trees in the Santa Cruz mountains, our A-frame, "Redwood Skye," offers a peaceful retreat where you can escape, unwind, and enjoy nearby hiking, biking, beaches, parks and more — all of which got us featured on the Emmy award-winning TV series, “Staycation.” Conveniently located: 5 mins to Henry Cowell State Park, Roaring Camp Railroad & Felton Music Hall; 15 mins to Santa Cruz with its famous boardwalk and spectacular beaches; 45 mins to San Jose; ~1 hr to SFO.

The space
Redwood Skye, our classic A-frame home, has a long history of being a base for vacations in the Santa Cruz mountains and beaches. Built in 1963 within the historic neighborhood of Forest Lakes in Felton, our home features the wooden warmth of mid-century modern design and furnishings combined with modern appliances, smart home devices, and super fast Wifi.

The main floor has an open floorplan with a dining area, living room, galley kitchen, and utility room complete with a stacking washer/dryer. Our signature dining table, made from the same coastal redwoods surrounding the cabin, is spacious enough to accommodate group meals or save one end to set up a game or puzzle. The living area has a comfortable sectional queen sleeper sofa, a Smart TV, books, games, and a Stressless recliner next to the wood-burning fireplace.

Just outside the living room, our tiger wood deck features comfy conversation seating around a central fire pit and built-in hot tub, Weber grill, outdoor heater, and of course the incredible scenery of an open sky surrounded by our massive Coastal Redwood trees - the tallest tree variety in the world. The deck is next to our private garden surrounded by native plants and blooms with plenty of space for a game of corn hole, super-sized Jenga, stargazing, or other outside fun!

The main floor has a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, desk, and sitting chair and is adjacent to the downstairs main bathroom (separate shower and bathtub). This bedroom has two doors - one to the bathroom and one to the kitchen.

Upstairs, the loft-style primary bedroom is spacious and boasts a king-sized bed, private bathroom (with shower), and sitting area. This bedroom is open to the 25 ft. wooden A-frame ceiling above the living room, without a door (checkout the floor plan in our photos). The size and layout ensure privacy, but voices and sound can carry upstairs from the living room. The great thing about the open layout is that you'll wake up to beautiful views of the towering redwoods surrounding you on all sides.

Throughout, we feature artwork and furnishings from local and regional artists including our redwood dining table by Christensen Custom Tables, antique dresser by Krista Nicholas, and artwork by Carol L. Riddle and G. Joy.

We have central heat, plus a room heater in the downstairs bedroom, and a built-in wall heater in the living room. There is no central air conditioner, but a portable A/C unit is in the upstairs bedroom if required and the living room and primary bedroom have ceiling fans. It's very rare to need air conditioning. In the summer, open the windows at night for fresh cool air, and close the windows during the day, to keep the cooler air inside.

You'll have full access to our home, deck and yard. We do have two exterior sheds, a covered carport, and a separate storage building that are not accessible.

Other things to note
For electric vehicle drivers we have an on-site level 2 EV charger powered by OK2charge. Just scan the QR code on the charger, pay through your phone (no app required) and you'll be fully charged in no time! Note that if you drive a Tesla, you'll need to bring your J1772 adapter.

You'll enjoy the peace and quiet of our neighborhood, deep in the redwood forest, but still so close to Felton where so many activities are close at hand. Miles of trails and hiking are accessible directly from our neighborhood and we're just five minutes by car to all of these attractions: the 2000+ year-old giant redwood trees of Henry Cowell State Park, the steam train at Roaring Camp, world-class mountain biking of Wilder Ranch, downtown Felton with the world-famous Felton Music Hall, the Bigfoot Discovery Museum, Mt. Hermon Adventures Ziplining, and so much more. Plus, Loch Lomond is just 7 miles north for great fishing and lakeside hiking and everything Santa Cruz and its beaches have to offer is just 6 miles down Highway 9!
