We recently remodeled the house so everything is fairly new. A guest will have a private room and a private bathroom in the house but it is like a separate unit (like a studio without a kitchen). Guests will have complete privacy while staying here. Some guests like to have Zoom meetings here.
All the furniture and bedding are from Pottery Barn. The bedding sets are washed and sanitized after each guest leaves. Other areas are not shareable. Please understand that we don't wear shoes in the house. Slippers will be provided. Wearing socks is fine. If you want to bring a pet, please let me know. I will try to accommodate your request. But my place is not suitable for big pets.
It is located within 20 minutes of walking distance to UC Berkeley. Bus #36 will take about 5 minutes to DownTown or UC Berkeley. A popular 'Homemade Cafe' is nearby (one-minute walking distance). If you have a car, the street parking is free. This listing is for only one guest.

This 100-year old water tower in our backyard supplied water to beach cottages on our street. It's been renovated into a tiny home, mostly using reused or upcycled materials. We're happy to share it with guests looking for a quiet & unique place to stay in the Bay Area.

It has its own entrance, private courtyard and is located one block from the beach, pinball museum, transit, farmers market, coffee shops & restaurants. You’ll love it because it's quaint and conveniently located.

The space
The water tower is two stories. Downstairs is a kitchenette with a small fridge and microwave and electric hot water kettle, two chairs, a chaise lounge, a coffee table and bar top. There's a small closet for storage and hanging clothes. There's a small bathroom and shower accessible through the front door porch. There are 8 ladder style steps to get to the bedroom upstairs. Staying at the Water Tower is not advisable for guests scared of heights or feel uncomfortable going up steep stairs. Guests also need to feel comfortable staying in a small space (145 sq ft) . The bedroom upstairs has a desk and a twin bed. There's a mattress under the bed that can accommodate a second person though we generally discourage more than one person staying for multiple days since it's a small space. Also please note that there's a $25 per day fee for additional guests.

Guests can access the Watertower by walking up the driveway of the main house and through the back gate. The Water Tower is on the far left corner of the property. It has its own private gate and courtyard.

Other things to note
Our dog "Odi" might greet you at the gate. He is super friendly. Just say hi and continue towards the water tower.

The bathroom and shower are in the same space directly outside the front door. This is more of a European style setup where the whole space is waterproof and ok if it gets wet.

Our pricing is for one guest and we discourage two people staying given tight quarters in our backyard. In situations where a second guest is involved, we ask that our pricing policy is adhered to and the $25 extra gueat fee added to the reservation.

Our 25' Airstream Flying Cloud is perfect for 2, but can accommodate up to 3. It provides all the comforts of a small home including full kitchen and refrigerator, shower, bathroom, heat/AC, Wi-Fi, 2 TV's with Blu-ray and surround sound, bluetooth radio, and most importantly, a comfortable place to rest your head on a queen bed with memory foam topper.

The Airstream is located down our private driveway with only our house located on the lot, giving it great privacy from neighboring homes and a sense of peace with nature amongst the trees. There is no parking space down our driveway, so we ask that our guests park on the street and walk down to the airstream. Street parking is free and easy to find. Our driveway down to the airstream is very steep, so please keep this in mind for booking.

Bright, light filled and newly renovated cottage with all of the amenities needed for an extended stay in the Bay Area. This place is ideal for students, visiting scholars, travel nurses, and those looking to visit the Bay Area. It is a perfect jumping off point for day trips to all that Northern California has to offer. It is a short walk to BART to take the train into San Francisco and 2 miles from the UC Berkeley campus and close to hospitals.

The space is calm and serene in the back garden of the property. The kitchenette is brand new with quartz countertops, microwave, mini oven, hot plate, fridge and all cookware/ dishware. You will also enjoy a beautiful private bathroom with a rain showerhead and crisp, clean towels. In the main space you will find a desk, a comfy queen bed, and a flat screen TV with Netflix. This cottage fully furnished and is great for a relaxing stay in the Bay Area, or can rented long term for students and travel nurses. Laundromat is a one minute walk from the cottage at the end of our block for longer stays.

The space is simple, clean, and private, with a full-size bed, wall-mounted TV, bathroom, reading nook, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot (leave your dishes outside and we’ll wash them for you!).

Open the windows to southern light and the smell of jasmine and rosemary. Need to work? The studio has a desk and reliable wifi. Need coffee? Enjoy it in our sunny garden under the apple tree. Want to explore? This walkable, friendly neighborhood is the perfect home base.

Recently renovated in-law unit in the back garden of main home, with a private entrance and access to outside laundry room. Spacious garden so guests have privacy. I have chickens that are out in the daytime, 2 cats and one small dog. They do not go into the studio often and it is kept clean.

The space
There is a separate gate leading to the cottage through the driveway, so guests will have privacy if desired. We enjoy interacting when convenient! Late night arrivals are also welcome; we have found that some flights come in late and it is unavoidable at times. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a Japanese soaking tub in the bathroom; shower off first and step in for a relaxing soak after a busy day! You will soon be addicted.
There is also a laundry room available To the left side of the main house. You can get there through a small gate which leads directly to the laundry room.
You must turn the light switch on for the washing machine to work, and somehow it was wired to the same switch.. There is detergent in an envelope. They're called true Earth detergent. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions!

The entire cottage is yours; there is a deck between it and the main house. A light is left on at night just outside the cottage door and you are welcome to sit outside when the weather is good (the Bay Area is known for its chilly evenings, even in summer, so be prepared!)

Other things to note
The climate is very comfortable here in the East Bay; we don't really have a summer, it only reaches 80 occasionally, and is sunny most of the year, with low humidity, especially from April to October. Be prepared to bring jackets even in the summer, as nights are definitely chilly, especially in San Francisco.
