We are a 5-minute drive or 10-minute bike ride (BYOB), or take a leisurely 20-30 minute walk through the neighborhoods to the Healdsburg Plaza, perfect for wine tasting and enjoying world-class restaurants. In summer we have two Farmers Markets for local produce and products--Saturday 9-noon and Tuesday in the Plaza, 9-noon. There are local bookstores, bakeries, coffee houses, art galleries and retail shops for jewelry, fine clothing and kitchen wares.
Bright and clean open-plan, single-story home with all new furnishings: two queen bedrooms, (east and west) each with a tv. East bedroom has a slider to the deck. Two full baths each with walk-in showers. Washer/Dryer is off the kitchen.
Relax in the living room and watch a movie or curl up with a book, sit on the stools at the counter and talk to the cook in the fully-equipped kitchen. Dining table seats 4 and has much of the 180-degree view! Living room has wall of windows with wide slider to the deck, a small gas grill, and places to sit, or stand and watch the fabulous scenery. High chairs for dining at the plank table with a string of festive lights overhead.
It's a very quiet neighborhood, excellent for resting and relaxing. People are friendly, but privacy is respected and the deep nature, the dark nights, and the serenity are the draws of staying on the mountain. We are among the houses along a narrow windy lane (far less grand than "Avenue" might suggest!); each home set a bit differently--most have been treasured for generations by families who came to Fitch Mountain for respites from city life. Step out the door along the lane and set off for beautiful walks, go explore the little trails and lanes that surround you in redwoods, century-old vacation cottages, wild flowers, mother and baby fawns and California oaks, bay, madrone, buckeye, and redwood. Birdlife abounds.

We are 8.3 miles from the Healdsburg town square. This drive takes about 18-20 minutes. The final road to our house is private and is paved for 1.5 miles, our "driveway" is a very well maintained rock rock and is about a 3 minute drive to the house from the entrance gate.

We are eager to help guide your stay to ensure you have a fabulous time both at the cabin, and enjoying the area. If you have any issues during your stay, our property manager (Shelley) lives across the street (<1 min walk) and can be contacted 24/7.

Please note that the downstairs bedroom (with the 2 beds and TV) has a separate entrance, outside and down stairs, from the main level. As noted above, this might not be ideal for families with young kids.

Other things to note:
While we certainly have added new appliances and features, this is still a cabin, thus there are a couple things to be aware of:
- Help us keep the septic system working well by only flushing TP
- Cell phone service can be spotty in the cabin (maybe a good thing?), but, if desperate, can be found if you walk down the road a house or two. Wifi however is very stable and accessible around the cabin!
- Windows are single-pane, which means poor sound insulation (for passing cars) and potential drafts if the weather is really cold (heater/cooling units in both levels though)
- We've kept the old animal mounts (moose, deer, duck) that came with the cabin and are part of its "hunting cabin" history. Please don't book if that will upset you.

When you stay in our winery, you will have the facility all to yourself. - "Overall we were very happy with the property and its location. Really easy to get to from Santo Rosa airport. And we were able to Uber to and from the property. It was a perfect getaway for 2 couples. We enjoyed the pool and the fire pit in the evenings. We felt like we did not have enough time to fully utilize the property. We used the bocce court the last day. That’s the only repair needed - it hasn’t been maintained well. But we still enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend to anyone. At our Getaway, you can relax in a private Mediterranean-style patio--your own “safe, secure, and secluded” retreat: from your room you will see—and hear!-- nothing but trees. You can take a walk or jog through the oaks and redwoods--a great path to the 173-acre Fitch Mountain Nature Preserve (called “Healdsburg’s Jewel”) actually starts right outside your front door. You can swim/kayak in the Russian River (5-minute walk below your patio)…or drive/Lyft/Uber to Healdsburg’s historic, colorful Plaza, shops, restaurants, & tasting rooms. Now, to be clear, don’t expect to be “right on the Plaza”; we’re a beautiful oasis in the country. But the Healdsburg Plaza is just a quick 3.1-mile, 9-minute drive away! (Sure, Fitch Mountain Road is a bit narrow and curvy in places--it hugs the river!--, but drive slowly and enjoy its “vacation-cottage landscape.” And yes, there is an uphill curve just before our home, but think “charming hill town in Italy”!)
We have only one guest room and bath--and it really is almost a separate, private cottage (attached to the house, but totally insulated from it: a 200 sq.ft room + bathroom & 200 sq.ft. patio), with its own private entry and parking. And you’ll appreciate our “it couldn’t be easier” check-in: everything will be ready for you—just walk right in! Our objective is to give you an enjoyable stay, right from the moment you check in, and you’re our only guest. And we’re “on-site hosts,” ready to give you whatever you need.
When you arrive, you will be greeted with a glass of wine (do you like red or white?) and an array of tasty snacks. But wait!--that is just the beginning. Being the ONLY TRUE B&B in the Healdsburg area, we serve you a multi-course, gourmet, home-made breakfast (we invite you to factor that breakfast-for-two into the price of a stay here), with a lengthy menu of delicious selections, and a choice of times (crack of dawn or sleep in?), delivered to your door. (We are, very unfortunately, unable to accommodate vegan, but restaurants in town can.) Our guests love our unique offerings! Ours is a quiet rural road nestled in beautiful oaks, redwoods, California bay, and buckeye trees near the bottom of Fitch Mountain, some 100’ above the Russian River. Our area was a popular riverside vacation area in the 1920-30s for families from the San Francisco area; many of the houses are converted and enlarged summer homes (like ours, now 2,000 sq.ft.). Fitch Mountain is known for its interesting local history, eclectic building styles, beautiful views, secluded neighborhoods, and friendly spirit.

Step out your door, and a five-minute walk below our B&B is the Russian River, at our brand-new Del Rio Woods community park, where you can launch your canoe/kayak, or just picnic at the tables there (beach blanket and chairs are under your bed, as well as a “picnic pack” with everything you’ll need) and watch everyone float by. We can email you complete information on kayaking/canoeing opportunities and rental services.

Or head up our road: it quickly becomes a popular walking and biking path right in the midst of the forest, and it continues on an easy ascent to the top of Fitch Mountain (all 981 feet of it!), which is now a Nature Preserve. This is paradise for walkers, hikers, joggers, and cyclists. Nearby, and stretching to the coast, are a host of city, county, and state parks of every size and description. We can email you complete information on popular walking trails--including a fascinating one to the Healdsburg Ridge Park, which you can access from your room.
We can also send you a list of local bicycle rental shops and what they each offer. Just ask.

Wine-tasting is just minutes away. You might start with a few of Healdsburg’s 34 (!) tasting-rooms right downtown, or just head for the wineries themselves. Among the winery-filled areas, in 8 to 30 minutes you will be at famous wineries in Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, and Sonoma Valley. We are truly in the heart of the Sonoma County Wine Country! Kathryn owned her own winery, and Dave worked 30 years in the Napa-Sonoma wine industry (he now works in the Italian wine industry), and we will be happy to share our knowledge with you. We can email you our own winery visit recommendations, organized into 10 “admittedly-subjective” categories!
And more. You might want to head into downtown Healdsburg for a great meal in one of our many prized restaurants (the list we sent you). Healdsburg and nearby towns boast rich programs of year-round wine events (every month!); jazz and musical events; art galleries and shows; famous running and cycling competitions (e.g., Amgen race and Grand Fondo, and the Fitch Mountain foot race); river races and festivals; craft beer shows (Sonoma County has 22 craft brewers), cheese-making, cannabis-raising (now legal!), a Farmers Market (Saturday mornings, 9-12; Tuesdays, 4-6pm, May-Nov); and a multitude of farms that supply the best restaurants in Northern California. Healdsburg’s public golf course is 5 minutes down the road. We will provide you with lots of maps & tourism materials.

We are an hour and a half from San Francisco airport (bus service to Healdsburg) and 15 minutes from the Santa Rosa airport.

You have private parking for 2 cars. Five steps & you go through your own private gate leading into your Mediterranean-style patio. From it, French doors open into your suite. You come and go as you please. It is your private flat, so to speak.

Other things to note
You can relax in a private Mediterranean-style patio--your own secluded retreat: from your room you can see nothing but trees. You can take a walk or jog through the oaks and redwoods--a great path to the 173-acre Fitch Mountain Nature Preserve (called “Healdsburg’s Jewel”) actually starts right outside your front door. You can swim/kayak in the Russian River (5 minutes below your patio)…or drive/Lyft/Uber to Healdsburg’s historic, colorful Plaza, shops, restaurants, & tasting rooms. Now, to be clear, don’t expect to be “right on the Plaza”; we’re a beautiful oasis in the country. But the Healdsburg Plaza is just a quick 3.1-mile, 9-minute drive away! (Sure, Fitch Mountain Road is a bit narrow and curvy in places--it hugs the river--, but drive slowly and enjoy its “vacation-cottage landscape.” And yes, there is an uphill curve just before our home, but think “charming hill town in Italy”!)

Welcome to the peaceful home away from home that will have you relaxing in style! This gorgeous home was built in the 40s-50s and is part of the historic Camp Rose neighborhood and is nestled on the side of Fitch Mountain. There is a semi-private Russian River beach access called Camp Rose that is a half-mile walk down from here - it is only for people in the Camp Rose community! There is also a public beach access called "Del Rio Woods", which is about a mile up the road. Downtown Healdsburg is a short two-mile drive away where you will find restaurants, parks, and endless vineyards and wineries! Some must-visit attractions include Dry Creek Vineyard, Trentadue Winery, Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens, Luther Burbank Center For The Arts, Safari West, and Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve.

This beautiful retreat offers stunning views of the Russian River, vineyards, rolling hills, Fitch Mountain itself, and the birds that love to perch and soar overhead. Outside, the extensive back deck enjoys a hot tub for soaking and relaxing while taking in the views of the Russian River Valley. The deck also offers a convenient outdoor dining area, a sitting area with plenty of comfortable furniture, and a hanging egg chair.

We are located on Westside Road, a beautiful destination just outside of Healdsburg. You will find over 20 wineries on Westside Road, which flows from the Russian River Valley into the Dry Creek Valley with it's own delightful wineries.

We are located on a hilltop overlooking rolling hills with cattle land and vineyards. Come enjoy a country vacation! Sand volleyball, and deluxe in-ground basketball hoop are available.

This is a newly remodeled Guest House. There is a California king-size bed in the master bedroom. There is also a queen bed and queen air-mattress available for the spacious living area. The space
The top unit is on the main level with a light and airy feel with vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. The chef's kitchen features stainless steel appliances, including a gas range, and quartz counter tops. The bedroom has a queen sized bed, balcony access and a private bathroom. Enjoy your coffee or wine on the deck while taking in the sweeping views of rolling hills, vineyards and the Russian River. Or warm up in the evenings next to the gas fireplace with a book.

There is parking spaces for ONLY 2 vehicles. This home has a flagstone pathway and stairs. If you are not comfortable climbing stairs, please consider another listing.

Imagine yourself relaxing in this lovely private rental approximately 1 mile from downtown Healdsburg. The property has a flourishing garden available for your picking pleasure while the veggies and fruit are in season. If you are so inclined, your fresh produce can be prepared in the completely furnished kitchen and enjoyed on the outside patio tables available for your dining experience. If cooking is not your forte, the number of local restaurants feature some of the top notch chefs in the area. The downtown square is within walking or bicycling distance with two available cruisers on site for your use. The queen size bed and comfortable living room will be a welcome relief after a long day of wine tasting in the region. If you can not enjoy this wonderful area without your furry companion, this is a dog friendly studio with a large fenced area so Fido will be as comfortable as you are in your new home away from home.

If the grapes allow, the home owner would love to share a glass of wine and talk about his second generation vineyard management experience in Sonoma County. Besides the 80+ wineries in renowned Alexander, Dry Creek, and Russian River Wine Valleys, the Healdsburg community is also known for its antiques, natural beauty, and many fesitvals. Location is the key element in this getaway with San Francisco a mere 60 miles away, the Pacific Ocean a close 30 miles, and the Redwood State Park visited within 20 minutes.
