The flat at the cork oak is the ideal place to stay in Petaluma. Two blocks from the train station and the river / old town, a block from Whole Foods and coffee, easy access to the freeway, but down a long private driveway in peace and quiet. The gorgeous, clean flat receives ample morning sun in the kitchen and living room for your cup of coffee or tea, while the bedroom will receive the afternoon sun.

The flat is accessed from a private entrance directly in front of your reserved parking space. There is a small yard in front of your entrance, with Adirondack chairs, a dining table, and a gas grill for this space. There is a flight of stairs to reach the flat.
Once you are in the unit, there is an open floor plan with the living room and kitchen connected. The dining area is between the two. The living room has a leather couch with a *fold out* queen bed. This bed has wood slats for head and torso, but due to the thinner mattress common to a fold out bed, it is best for smaller persons and children. There is a 55 inch 4k flat screen TV in this room connected to a roku box. There are several free channels with films, news, family programs, etc available on the roku, or just log in with your preferred on-demand service. Internet is via wifi, which is connected to a 1 Gbs fiber-optic service from Sonic.
The bathroom has a larger shower, sink with vanity cabinet, and is stocked basic supplies for your convenience.
The bedroom contains a King sized bed with a comfortable Avocado brand organic mattress, as well as a closet with some hangers, suitcase stands, etc.

- "Frank did a great job preparing the space for our arrival. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Although because it was a second story apartment/condo, it was a little hot when we arrived. But he had two portable air conditioning units and fans that we used that brought the temperature in our bedroom down considerably. The only thing we should have noted that wasn't present was a washer and dryer. Again, we should have notice this in the listing so our fault. Built in 1870, our Fair Street Retreat is part of one of the oldest houses in Petaluma. We are located just 3 blocks from Downtown Petaluma. This rustic, cozy cabin (we call it "The Cabin" aka the "Love Shack") at Stemple Creek Ranch in West Marin is delightful. This cabin is a refurbished old bunkhouse with a full bathroom with an antique claw foot tub/shower, kitchenette with a small sink, 2 burner gas stove, and small refrigerator, a loft for sleeping (queen-sized bed and twin bed), pull-out couch downstairs (queen sized bed - very good quality pull out couch, very comfortable), and a private deck with a BBQ and outdoor seating.

The cabin is just a few miles away from the town of Tomales, just off Highway 1 (Shoreline Highway), and a great home base for exploring Marin or Sonoma Counties.

Please note: no pets, no smoking, no open flames. We have outdoor surveillance cameras on site (NOT inside).

As little or much as our guests want. We do not live on the Ranch, but there are other houses on the ranch where other people live and we do work there on most days.

Stemple Creek Ranch is in the heart of the cheese, wine, oysters, and coastline of both Marin and Sonoma Counties. Visitors love to go kayaking, hiking, and enjoy the local wine, oysters, and cheese.

There is plenty of parking at the cabin. There is no public transportation in the area, a car is required for getting around.

Generally, Verizon and AT&T cell service works fine. We have satellite-based wifi on the ranch.

- "Beautiful place. The cabin slept 5 comfortably. There was not a microwave which was not a problem for us. We used the toaster oven and the two stove burners for what we needed. I was excited to take a bath in the clawfoot tub, but it was a little more rustic than expected. Spider webs and a few spiders, no tub stopper and water was restricted anyway so I opted out on that. Shower was perfectly adequate. I can't say enough about the charm and beauty of this place. The nights were cool and comfortable for our June stay. The views of birds, flowers and cattle were wonderful. We didn’t want to leave. I hope to return!"
