- "Worth every penny!" - "Had a lovely stay at Bernardus once again! Nice, cozy and accommodating rooms made a nice relaxing stay. We went to the spa one day and all the services were lovely. We also ate at the restaurant and bar and had some great meals. Overall, staff was friendly and we enjoyed our visit. Only small nit would be that during our stay there seemed to be quite a bit of younger children (4-6 year olds) and they were running around quite a bit during the morning & day. It didn't bother us but I did notice there was more noise as they were joyfully going about. Didn't recall this from our first stay but guess it just depends on when you are there."

Your space is the smaller of the two rooms upstairs in a charming home in the wooded neighborhood of Mar Vista park. Although the bathroom is shared, the other room has a private half bath, which decreases the traffic in the shared bath.
Please be aware that this is a traditional owner occupied Airbnb. This is not one of the recent wave of investment properties that are hosted by hired help and managed as a full service hotel.
Although the owner makes every effort to prepare the bed and the house for each guest, he supports the B&B alone, has a career, is a full time graduate student, and serves in the military. So outgoing guests are asked to strip the bed and leave the house as clean and tidy as they found it, and there may be times when the owner is called away, and a new guest will have to make their own bed.
In other words, even though the house is regularly professionally cleaned, you are not buying concierge service with this room. Instead, you are getting the benefit of a home away from home, and sharing a friendly and cozy house with locals.
Expect pets and their shedding, as well as other guests and residents to be about.
If you like having a kitchen to use, sipping your coffee in the woods with a view of the bay, sitting by the fire on the deck at night, and meeting interesting people and dogs, this place is for you.. and if it is for you, you know how rare of a thing it is to find.

We encourage our guests to park in the carport or driveway. The carport is small, but two small to medium cars can fit side by side. Park as close to the house as possible without blocking anyone else's vehicle.

Our home is in Salinas. It is only a 30 min drive from Monterey, the aquarium, beaches, and hiking areas!

Two discounted aquarium passes can be used for your stay. You may come before check-in (4pm) to pick up passes. Two passes ($100 value) for $50. Single pass for $25. Guest passes cannot be reserved on check-out day.

The space

**The aquarium closes some days at 6pm, so you may come early before check-in (4pm) to pick up the passes. Please make arrangements with me beforehand if this is what you'd like. Guest passes cannot be reserved on check-out day.

In my home there is all tile and wood flooring, no carpet! Perfect for anyone who tends to get those pesky allergies. Please feel free to bring slippers to wear inside the home :) The room itself is clean and well-kept. You will have clean sheets, towels, and bedding. The bathroom is stocked with towels, shampoo, and soap.

I provide coffee to all guests every morning.

Guest access
You will have access to your guest bedroom (located upstairs on the second floor) and a private bath. There is plenty of free street parking available in our safe and quiet suburban neighborhood.

You are welcome to use the fridge and the microwave to warm up food! I also provide all dishes and silverware. :) However, kitchen use is not included.

7. Currently we only set 3 months advanced from the current date, but if you need beyond these days, let me know and I can reset it and make these days available for you to book.

A Furnished a bright, very specious and comfortable Bed Bedroom (Down-STAIRS) in a 4-bedrooms and 3 full baths beautiful house, full-sized bed, can add another twin-size air-mattress/mattress next to it, private bathroom and onsite laundry. Easy driveway or off-street parking. It is also a newer and clean house and sparkly clean on all of your private part.

*9. We are looking for a clean, kind, considerate, honest and responsible travelers, professionals, teachers or students with light cooking/no cooking. In many places, the kitchen is not opened, but we are open for you to use only if you can keep it clean after using.

*10. During the pandemic period, we try to keep distance and help, consider and protect each other, reduce the # of renters. But still we couldn't host a guest who is in below situation: COVID-19 positive with any respiratory symptoms, fever etc, required 14 or more days quarantine that is requested by the healthcare system/a healthcare professional, you suspect you might have infected by the COVID-19 virus. Thank you for your kindness and understanding!

Kitchen is open for airbnb guest only for curtesy and he/she must follow the long-term regular renter house cleaning rules: clean and maintain it by yourself after use and before use if you feel it is not clean enough for your standard since the kitchen is a shared place, frequently used, easy to be messed up and require everyone’s efforts to keep it clean. If you don’t feel you are obligate to clean it to your acceptance and our standard acceptance, please don’t use it. It should not be included to review on me, because it is not included in your price and it belongs to review to roommates, yourself and everyone currently in the house to use it:).

12. The roommates I have usually are long-term rental professionals or students. Any question, please feel free to ask.

13. Pleave over staying, there is 3 times of original price charged per hour. Please read the house rules. The basic supplies only give a week long for you to prepare it by yourself if you are a longer term lodger.

14. If you will be stay over 28 days, we may need to screen you first to finish your application process. The process requires the screen to be passed first and you need to agree and sign the month to month rent and until the the final check out date contract date to be assigned before we could let you continue staying over 28 days.
