This ocean view beach house is located in the sand dunes on Monterey Bay with a full view of the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Pajaro Valley on the other. There are decks on both sides of the house. A short trail (no road to cross) leads to the miles of sandy beach. The house is inside the Pajaro Dunes gated community with 24 hour security and common area walking/biking trails, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball court. The house is fully furnished with a complete kitchen, linens and towels and all the latest board games to enjoy in front of the gas fireplace. The kids can play without worry of cars inside Pajaro Dunes Community (no roads are between the house & the beach) Unfortunately, the Pajaro Dunes Community does not permit any guest pets.

The house location is in the center of Monterey Bay between Carmel/Monterey and Santa Cruz. San Francisco is 100 miles to the north; San Jose/Silicon Valley is less than an hour away. The closest golf is 5 minutes away and the famous courses in Monterey are less than 30 minutes away. Monterey aquarium and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk are within 1/2 hour drive. World renowned bird watching and kayaking at Elkhorn Slough is 10 minutes away in Moss Landing.

The view of the farmland and mountains from the front of the house was unexpectedly stunning, pictures do not do it justice! The walk to the beach was less than 1 minute, I walked it barefoot several times. We went mid June and the beach was barely populated. The weather was calm in the morning and then the wind would pick up quite a bit by noon. One of the days we were there it was only mildly windy. The beach was beautiful and VERY clean. We played basketball at the community area one day. The community facilities were very nice. The equipment for the basketball, tennis courts, volleyball etc was kept in a small storage arena that wasn't well labeled, but we found it. At the house, there was a cabinet with many games by the phone, built into the counter area. There was corn hole equipment, but we couldn't find any of the sacks to throw. There was a somewhat odd smell in the closets and sometimes rooms. I would definitely come back to this house again with my family. My husband and I would also definitely return to Pajaro Dunes Community to a smaller house or condo with just the 2 of us."

This home sleeps up to 12 adults/kids on comfortable beds, in the following configuration. Note this is a three-bedroom home with the largest bedroom "split" in half with a curtain to allow both a king bed and a queen bed sharing a room.

(1A) Sitting Room: adjoins master (separated by a curtain not wall), has queen mattress, sink, and ocean view (sleeps 2);

The sleeping arrangements are flexible such that the primary bedroom and adjoining sitting room can be a 'family' bedroom using the queen pull-out couch. They are separated by a curtain. Or, the hall bedroom can also be a 'family' bedroom as it has a queen bed plus a set of twin bunks, plus a double futon mattress in a cool loft that kids love.

The separation between the bedroom wing and the gathering rooms in this home provides excellent privacy when needed for contemplation, alone time or a peaceful midday nap.

The large, updated kitchen can accommodate multiple chefs to create amazing feasts for your group. A wall oven plus a microwave and stovetop, two sinks, and all the pots, pans, plates, cutlery, glassware and cook's tools you could want. (There is also easy and fast delivery from nearby Watsonville, choose from Chinese or Pizza!) A new Weber propane BBQ is right outside the kitchen on a deck sheltered from ocean breezes where outdoor furniture allows you to relax and eat outside (we provide propane plus a spare). An extra fridge in the garage is a great resource for storing ice, food and drinks for your group's entire stay.

House 46 also offers dedicated wifi for surfing, working or streaming, plus flat-screen TVs, Comcast cable channels, and Blu-Ray DVD players. It also has beach supplies, toys and games for kids, and an extensive book and DVD lending library. We have a high chair and pak n play for the little ones, along with step stools in every bathroom.

WIFI is FAST in the whole house! >500 Mbps at router with extender pods throughout the home. 5 sets of desks and chairs in bedrooms plus the dining table and breakfast bar... lots of options!

Because only those occupying Pajaro Dunes accommodations can enter the community, the state park beach at Pajaro Dunes is quiet and you may have it all to yourself much of the time. Activities abound in Pajaro Dunes, including surfing, tennis, basketball, sand volleyball, shuffleboard, birding, and shelling (all inside the community).

Pajaro Dunes itself is a private, gated community directly on the dunes of Monterey Bay.

It is also a quick and easy drive to Santa Cruz, Monterey, the Monterey Aquarium, Carmel, the redwoods of the Forest of Nisene Marks in Aptos, berry picking, Gilroy garlic festival and Gilroy outlet shopping. Fishing and whale watching excursions can be booked out of nearby Moss Landing, which is also the closest surf break (although plenty of people surf and boogie board at Pajaro Dunes).

- "The house was nice and clean and available even earlier then check-in time which was great! The views were amazing there was plenty of room and beds for our whole big family. I would note that there is no direct beach access from the house but there is a short path and about 25 stairs down to the water. I only mention this because we had some older family members that have trouble with the stairs. The kitchen had everything we needed except some bbq tools which we picked up at target and left for the next people. All in all it was a great place to stay and would definitely recommend."

Pajaro Dunes is a quiet gated community of custom homes with diverse architecture located half way between Santa Cruz and Monterey. Our house is directly on Sunset State Beach where you can walk for miles along the white sand beach.

This 1,600 square foot beach front home has four bedrooms, three baths and an unobstructed 180 degree view of the ocean.

Our kitchen has maple cabinets and granite counters. The house is very well insulated which makes for cozy evenings in front of the Danish wood burning stove.

A great room with kitchen, dining, and living room is on the upper floor along with two master bedrooms. From here the view of the Pacific is unobstructed from Monterey to Santa Cruz. The kitchen includes all the essentials for cooking and baking and includes a new GE induction range. In the evening you can enjoy a movie on the 58" 4K Sony smart TV.

This home is ideal for two couples and four or five children. (We recommend no more than six adults and suggest that more than eight total visitors will be tight.) The two upstairs bedrooms have both valley and ocean views. Each has new Avocado king beds and its own compact bathroom with tub/shower.

The downstairs is designed for children; The south bedroom has four twin beds (one is a trundle.) The north bedroom has two twin beds (one is a trundle) and a full bed. A compartmented bathroom with shower shares space with a new washer and dryer. The covered entry area has plenty of space to store beach toys.

Our house is powered by a photoelectric array, for a very green experience. Feel free to plug in your electric car in our 110v plug (4 MPH charge). A mile away at the Gatehouse are two Charge Point electric car chargers (both level II). (This is not shown on the ChargePoint app. but is available to any Pajaro Dunes visitor.)

The area abounds in bird life, and more than a hundred species winter on Monterey Bay. Depending on the season, dolphins and sea otters frequent the waters, and on rare occasions one may spot breaching or spouting whales.

There is a driveway with on site parking for two or three cars. (The majority of beach front homes at Pajaro Dunes are reached by boardwalk). The tennis courts are a short walk from the house. Please note that although our house is located just above the beach, the beach is accessed by a boardwalk three doors down.

We love this location—close enough to Monterey and Carmel for little day trips, but far enough to avoid the daily tourist traffic. We saw dolphins, seals, and a very curious sea otter from our seats at breakfast; speaking of, we appreciate the fully appointed kitchen with lots of dishes and serving plates for beautiful family meals." - "The property was perfect for a family of three. Two couples stayed upstairs, where there are two bedrooms and each had their own bathroom. One couple stayed downstairs and the rest of our children slept in the other bedroom. Downstairs was a shared bathroom. There is an outdoor sheltered area downstairs (about a 30x30 area), where you can store all your beach and other outdoor items. There is plenty of parking in the driveway (we fit four cars) and plenty of space for parking on the street. The only thing is that the description for the living room states that it is bigger than it actually looks in the picture, but I would say that it did not look any bigger than the picture. But it was still spacious enough for three families. The owners responded fairly quickly with our needs. My family said they would rent the house again."

Monterey is 24 miles to the south, and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a short 14-mile drive. Also, many state parks are local to the area!

We gave baby gates, all of our cabinets are child proofed, a high chair upon request as well as a pack and play. For the pooch we have: dog beds and bowls available.

- "Great location" - "This is 3 BR 2 ba home with a nice backyard. We brought our dog. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable and the neighborhood is pretty quiet. It is right behind an Ace Hardware so there is some noise in the morning. There was bath gel and shampoo, laundry detergent and dish soap and a vacuum. There is parking on the driveway and some street parking across the street. The bathrooms are updated and there are lots of towels. There is a large TV in the backyard but we didn't use it. It was very convenient to the fairgrounds where we were competing in a horse show. A Park Pass was available but we didn't use it. We will book again!"

Hot tub! House 81 offers four traditional bedrooms with two additional lofts staged with two twins in each loft and closet space. The lofts are very easy to get to, no ladder required, they are located on the same floor as the two upstairs bedrooms. Each bedroom upstairs (two traditional and two lofts) has two twin beds in each. The two main floor bedrooms have two queen beds in each. This is a total of two queen beds and eight twin beds. In addition, you have two more lofts, one with a couch and small table and the other with a 6 seating card/game table. This is a great house for the family to reconnect and the access to the beach is just about 100 ft from your front door.

The space
I'm on 5 quiet acres close to the beaches of Monterey Bay. I'm 30 minutes to the Monterey/Carmel/Big Sur area, Santa Cruz, and Gilroy. A little further away is San Francisco (about an hour and half to 2 hours).

Guest access
You will have your own dedicated bathroom. The room has 2 sets of sheets and towels. In the kitchen there is designated guest cookware (pots & pans, knives, and cutting boards, plates, bowls, silverware, glasses, coffee mugs), and your own refrigerator and pantry area. There will be a designated cupboard in the laundry room for guests, I will supply toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap in bathroom, and dish soap in kitchen. There is also an additional room available if you have more guests (Max of 4 guests total, price TBD).

During your stay
I'm in and out a lot, but always available by phone. I do work as a nurse and have long hours some days, but I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. While at work, my dog will remain in his room with access to his yard (please do not open the gate).

We have a studio/one bedroom space attached to our family home. Primarily we rent this unit to nurses and other short term renters, sometimes we use it for our own family/friends in which case it is available to short term travelers - such as yourself!

The unit is comfortable for a couple as a quiet weekend away.

We're located roughly equal distance from Gilroy, Santa Cruz and Monterey and fifteen minute drive to Sunset and Manressa Beaches.

From the driveway, follow the natural mulch path around the main house 'til it culminates at the Undercroft. We welcome you with fresh snacks from local and organic farms, including locally produced honey from our favorite honey maker, Rivas' Bees.

This rural paradise is situated about 5 miles from the nearest beach and a comfortable distance from popular redwood forests (see our Guidebook). You have full access to the Undercroft and its private patio. Enjoy a prolific outpouring from our fruit trees whenever the delectable goods are in season. Our beloved second season finds the Undercroft in possession of the coveted Golden Poppy Pass from California State Parks. Hang the pass from your rear-view mirror and enjoy free parking at local state parks and beaches. (Just be sure the pass doesn't hitch a ride home with you. It wants to share its magic with our other guests, too.)

Babies are so very welcome! Just let us know ahead of time if you need us to set up the play yard (crib) or the high chair. Contact us with any questions.

Guests pass through Sefla's studio to reach the stairs to the second-floor suite, using the main entrance to our home (THERE IS NO PRIVATE ENTRANCE, despite AirBnB's insistence that we must be listed as being in the listing type "entire place"). You have full access to the resort homeowner’s AMENITIES; tennis, racketball basketball courts, horseshoe, volleyball, etc.

We provide linens, towels, beach towels, paper towels, toilet paper, flatware, utensils, pots, and pans for cooking, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, dish soap, sponges, etc. Basic spices for cooking, coffee grinder, and tea kettle. There is a Safeway/Nob Hill, and Target about 15 minutes away so be sure to stop prior to arrival.
Afternoons can get windy so pack a lightweight jacket. EASY ACCESS AND FREE GUEST PARKING. Every day is different at the ocean, some days you will find lots of shells, and sand dollars, just come to REST, RELAX, and ENJOY!

Our newly remodeled 2nd bathroom has a shower over tub and is conveniently located just outside the bedroom.

Bedroom #3 is a bunk room with 3 twins (the bunk plus a twin under the loft) and toys, books and even a mini basketball hoop to keep your children entertained.

Our Bonus Room has a full-sized bed and another bunk with two twins, perfect for families.

Take advantage of outdoor living on our deck with a comfortable sitting area and a new gas bbq with plenty of grill space for you and all guests.

The home lies on a private drive that serves our home and the home of our neighbors.  Please be respectful of our neighbors who themselves enjoy the peace and quiet of their home. Absolutely no parties or outside amplified music. To make sure this beautiful house continues to be available to future guests we must strictly enforce the house rules. Any violations (e.g., parties, speeding in the neighborhood, etc.) will result in eviction and forfeiture of damage deposit.

We will also do everything we can to make it easy for you to keep sand outside the home.  This includes a place to sit and rinse feet outside the front door … and did you know a little baby powder goes a long way towards removing sand?  We’ll have plenty on hand. : )

Our Driveway.  Turning onto our driveway involves a fairly sharp turn and navigating a straight but steep driveway.  Especially low cars or long vehicles (like a Sprinter van) might not work well.  If you think any of this might be an issue for you or your guests, please let us know.  We’ll be happy to provide any needed details.  We only allow 2 vehicles.

For this reason it’s especially important to allow no more than two cars on the property at any time.  Parking on our private, shared street is also not allowed due to the fact that it’s narrow and largely the property of our neighbors. 

Our home is private and secluded yet close to everything. So while you'll be surrounded by trees, and will likely never see the neighbors, nor they you, the back of our property runs adjacent to one of the "veins" of access into the foothills and deeper hills of Aptos. This is great for convenience, but also means traffic noise during commute hours is fairly common. We have double-paned doors and windows, but if vehicle sounds are especially problematic, we ask you to consider this before booking

This spacious 4 bed 2.5 bath home is located near downtown, walking distance to Main Street! Walking distance to Target and other food places. Only a 20 min drive to Santa Cruz and a 30 min drive to Monterey, Gilroy and Salinas. 10 min drive to Watsonville beaches! The house can accommodate 12 people comfortably.

We have a studio that is attached to the house, listed on airbnb as well. It has its own entrance & backyard space. If you'd like to book the studio as well, contact us for more info!

The space
Upon entering, you’ll enter the main dining area. Straight ahead is the kitchen and living room. There is a half bath located just right of the entryway. Upstairs you’ll find the kids bunk room to the left, the laundry room, the master bedroom with full bath and to the right of the stairs you’ll have the two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath between the rooms. We have a garage, 1 car inside and 1 car in the driveway. There is also free street parking. Usually the space right in front of the house is available. We have a backyard with covered patio. A fire pit and a grill :)

Other things to note
- The property is located on the 3rd floor and there is a ramp and stairs
- No animals are allowed
- 3 night minimum stay required
- I am currently only booking 2 months out.
-There is a birds nest in front of the unit. It cannot be moved because they are protected birds. I apologize for the inconvenience.
-The shower in the main hallway works by pulling down on the tub spout.

Our home is located in a well-sought-after Pajaro Dunes Resort Area with MILES of pristine beaches between Monterey and Santa Cruz.  Pajaro Dunes Resort is in a secluded, gated community with 24-7 security.

Imagine your own private patio listening to the sounds of waves while enjoying your favorite meal or drink and being awed my magical sunsets. The covered deck is accessible through the sliding doors from the living room and master bedroom. Our patio is equipped with a gas BBQ and 2 Adirondack chairs.

In addition to the KING size therapeutic bed in the bedroom, we also have a wall murphy bed with a queen mattress. So everyone gets a great night's
sleep.
Relaxation is real at our beach home, it's amazing how close we are to the ocean.
We provide linens, towels, paper towels, toilet paper, flatware, utensils, pots, and pans for cooking. Dishwasher pods, laundry pods, dish soap, sponges, etc. You just need to bring food that you would want to cook.
Basic spices and herbs are provided. We do have a coffee grinder and bullet juicer.

The closest store is about 15 minutes away (Safeway/Nob Hill in the city of Watsonville) There is also a Target there. Be sure to pick up the last-minute items you want.
You will have full access to the Shorebirds homeowner’s amenities tennis and basketball courts and we have rackets for you to use. There is small onsite store open seven days a week for last-minute items needed.
Pets are not permitted. Sorry, we are animal lovers but this is an association rule and there are no exceptions.

The Oversized master-suite has a Smart TV with Xumo Stream Cable Box, large double closets, and a spa-like bathroom with double sinks, large bathtub and separate steam shower.

The downstairs King en-suite has its own full bathroom and private entry, offering flexibility for guests or as a secondary master suite. Enjoy a Smart TV or listen to music on the bluetooth speaker in this private retreat.

Upstairs, you'll find the other guest bedrooms with the Queen size bed and the other with the twin trundle, both rooms are generously sized and complemented by plenty of storage space and closets throughout the home. The Twin Trundle guest room also has a Smart TV for a movie night at the beach.

There is a lobby store inside the north gate (look for the 'Shorebirds' entrance sign) that sells beer and wine, as well as clothing, gifts, groceries & snacks. You can also borrow a movie (free!) while you’re there, and pick up the daily newspaper, hot coffee, free sports equipment, ice, and nearly anything you may have forgotten. Book a bonfire with s'mores or ask about some of local activities like kayaking & whale watching. Take a look at the fabulous kites!

Enjoy the sunrise and sunset everyday and take in the gorgeous wildlife. Play tennis, pickleball, volleyball or basketball with courts located nearby.
