Stylish modern studio situated on 7 gated acres, surrounded by rolling hills, featuring a stunning 60’ lap pool and outdoor lounging and dining area! The grounds are lush with mature oak trees, fruit trees and a pergola on the upper terrace with outdoor seating affording spectacular sunset views. The interior of this modern open studio features exclusive furnishings, a queen-size bed, 2 sofas, 55" TV, bistro table, two builtin workstations, kitchenette and full bath with walk-in glass shower.

The well-equipped kitchenette includes both a Nespresso machine and a K-Cup coffee and tea maker, milk frother, microwave, toaster oven, double and single hot plate, slow cooker, Instant Pot and full-size fridge.

Beautifully decorated interiors by two former corporate executives of Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and West Elm, including custom fine art painted exclusively for the property. We fondly refer to the property as Great Oak because of the dozens of gorgeous oaks on the grounds. Rental guests often comment on how private the compound feels across its 7 acres with few homes in view and yet only minutes from both Sonoma and Glen Ellen. If you love hiking and biking, Cavedale Rd. is an 7 mile long artery crossing from Sonoma into Napa. Or, simply sit back and relax in a truly rural setting with spectacular views of the Valley of Moon, uniquely framed by both the Mayacamas and Sonoma Mountains...truly one of the best locations the wine country has to offer.

We live on the property. The guest studio was specifically designed to face away from the main house in order to afford guests the privacy you deserve. The guest studio is also attached to the garage so on occasion guests may hear the garage door opening/closing.

The lap pool is shared with the owners. When guests are present, we limit our use of the pool to our daily laps and try to do so when guests are out exploring all that Sonoma and Napa have to offer. The pool is not heated in the off-season.

We have 2 friendly Gordon Setter dogs (Tobi 5 years old and Nikki 4 years old) that roam the property and may come over to visit. If you are uncomfortable with dogs, or they are in any way bothering you, please call/text us and we will make sure to keep them with us. It is not a bother at all, so please don’t hesitate to let us know. Also, when entering or leaving the property, if you could take care and not let the dogs out. If you see them out and about when arriving at the gate or upon leaving, please call or text us so we can bring them in. Otherwise, they will make a run for it if the gate is opened.

We have been actively renting Great Oak as a vacation rental since 2017, with a 5-star rating. It was previously managed by Turnkey/Vacasa. Sadly, ratings and reviews cannot be carried over when switching to self-property management, but below are copied ratings and some sample reviews.

Gorgeous property and fantastic location for exploring Napa and Sonoma. That pool and those views - perfection!! The kitchen was very well-appointed, and we cooked in many nights and had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The owners and their dogs were lovely, and it was a pleasure meeting them. My wife and I stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Not only is the house beautifully decorated and maintained, but the property itself is absolutely syunning. It made for a relazing and calming weekend. John and Oliver, the owners, are awesome. They were so welcoming and kind and we felt like we were visiting old friends. The photos do not do it justice. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway.

If you want to experience a completely beautiful and peaceful environment with the best energy, then definitely consider this place. I am hesitant to rate them so highly because I will definitely return and don’t want it hard to book. If you don’t enjoy this place, you should stop traveling!

Our second visit was just as enjoyable as we remember our first in 2022. Tobi & Nikki (the two Gordon Setters) made for great playmates for our dog again and the pool ambience was exactly the rest & relaxation we were in need of. The perfect dog friendly get away.

One of the best [vacation rental] stays we ever had! A real gem! The paintings were interesting and done by the owner himself. Pool was beautiful aesthetically and the water temperature just right. The property itself is very well maintained. Lounge was a great place to just chill and take in the view. The two dogs on site were very friendly and our kid loved them. Owners were very gracious. If you’re looking for a luxury retreat in a more private locale, this is it! Would come back in a heartbeat

The whole estate is expensive and gorgeous with mid century architecture, the interior is artsy and sophisticated and after the long day we enjoyed the sunset views and large heated pool. We also appreciated the sustainable thinking through out the property.

This Italian style villa boasts incredible views of wine country with legendary sunsets. This beautiful, private home, with heated pool and spa, is on nearly an acre of land with a 60 vine vineyard and views of treetops, Sonoma Mountain, and Sonoma Creek.

It's the perfect place for time away with friends or family.

The home is shaded by mature olive and redwood trees. Its features include a new pool and spa completed in 2024, a fully equipped chef's kitchen, a covered outdoor game/TV room with pool table and ping pong, solar power, an electric car charging station, a home entertainment center, an indoor dining area for 6, outdoor teak dining table, gas fireplace (no propane tank needed), hardwood floors, wine refrigerator, upscale linens, modern decor, and much more.

Welcome to our Harvest Hideaway! We’re centrally located in the heart of Sonoma Valley, right in downtown Glen Ellen.

Walking distance to fantastic restaurants, tasting rooms, and the great Glen Ellen Village Market. We’re a 10 minute drive to Kenwood, 15 minutes to Sonoma Square, and 30 to Napa. Drive west and you're in Bodega Bay within an hour; south, and you're on the Golden Gate Bridge. You can't beat the location!

Built in the 1930’s and completely remodeled in 2017, our house has the charm and character of an older home, with all modern amenities and new hardwood floors.

You will enjoy your own private room with a queen bed (down comforter), walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom, containing a double sink & spacious walk-in shower. Wifi, television (with Netflix, Hulu, etc), a fan/heater, and a small refrigerator are available for your convenience. You also have your own independent heating/AC to keep the room comfortable during your stay.

This room does not have access to the kitchen or the rest of the home, but you do have access to our lovely screen porch where you can enjoy breakfast and watch the hummingbirds visit our feeders. And you are welcome enjoy the numerous sitting areas in our backyard or sit by our chickens and let them entertain you for hours.

After multiple inquires, we must add that this is the only space we rent. It is private (in one corner of the house), while our master bedroom is upstairs on the other side of the house. The two of us will never been in your space while you are staying with us, and you can come and go freely without any disturbances.

*Pets - Maximum of one (1) Pet may be allowed with owner approval only for a non-refundable fee (flat rate $175). Pet owners are responsible for pet at all times, pet shall be secured on property at all times. Please pickup and properly dispose of pet waste inside garage trash cans.

*Trash and Garage Use - Please keep garage doors closed at all times when not in use and store any overflow trash inside garage to keep from local wildlife.

*No large events (i.e weddings) are allowed on property per Sonoma County Short Term Rental Property Ordinance. Maximum number of daytime adult guests is 18 total including overnight adult guests at any one time per day; not including children under 3.

*All guests must observe Sonoma County requirements for noise levels Residential Property Noise Limits. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am everyday, no exceptions. Amplified music or loud voices are not allow at anytime of day as a courtesy to neighbors.

*Parking - Please only park inside our secure gated area with a strictly enforced maximum number of 6-7 total standard/small sized vehicles; 2 cars parked inside garage and 4 outside within gated parking area on the property parking area only. No parking outside the property gate on neighbors property, sorry no exceptions. We have fantastic neighbors that are great folks, please be kind and courteous during your stay.

Getting around in Glen Ellen, a car is preferred but we also have Uber. Kenwood is 5 minutes away, Sonoma is about 10 minutes, Napa is about 40 minutes, SF is about an hour, if you want to go to the Ocean, Bodega Bay is only about an hour away, and it`s also where Alfred Hitchcock`s `The Birds` was filmed. They also have delicious clam chowder and seafood at Spud Point Crab Company in Bodega Bay.

This is the perfect cottage for a retreat and a dip into the Bucolic Sonoma countryside.

What We Love About This Home
The two bungalows are separated from each other by a wonderful yard featuring a large swimming pool and patio area, indoor/outdoor eating areas, a textured expanse of xeriscape gardens and shady heritage Oaks. Well manicured paths connect the two separate homes.

Much of the entertaining and socializing will likely take place under the steel-beam and wood-framed outdoor living area by the pool. This minimalist and elegant space houses a full living room suite, formal dining for 12 and a complete set of outdoor dinner wear in a modern metal hutch. Warmed by infrared heaters, this open air pavilion is welcoming throughout the year.

Bungalow One Details
With a wall of glass panel doors, this bungalow opens directly to the Pavilion. A fully-equipped chef’s kitchen with island seating looks onto the living area with a gas fireplace and rustic, wood tiled wall. A Thermador gas range and industrial grade appliances make cooking a dream. High ceilings, recessed lighting and skylights brighten this space while honey-colored wood floors add warmth. A large flat screen TV and bookshelves (stocked with original screenplays!) offer entertainment options within the serene layout.

The primary suite with King bed enjoys a private, covered patio with forest views. There is a stall shower and deep soaking tub overlooking the countryside in the exquisitely tiled primary bath. Separated by sliding barn doors, space is maximized to create a generous bath with dual vanities. There is an American Leather Queen sofa bed in the living area.

Bungalow Two Details
Separated by concrete walkways and tall dry grasses shaded by oak and manzanita, Bungalow Two is another study in modern, rustic design with wide plank wood floors, white walls and sleek modern furniture. Top-sliding barn doors and pitched ceilings add to the spacious feel in the living/kitchen area. A butcher-block center island offers casual dining for 4. There is a Bosch gas stove top, retro-style refrigerator and top-grade stainless steel dishwasher, and the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking! (Note: There is no oven in Bungalow Two.)

The primary bedroom has a queen bed and private door to the spacious bathroom. A floating dual vanity and the large walk-in shower add to the clean, spa-like ambiance of the bath.

There is a large, flat screen TV and American Leather Queen sofa bed in the living area. A generous, covered porch with seating provides a warm welcome for guests or a place to enjoy wine country evenings and views of the Mayacama mountains.

- "Stay was comfortable, there was enough towels and food was left in fridge which was perfect as we forgot the condiments , had a small Mexican store and gas station near by. Kids loved the pool said it was super cold . We would loved to see a little more lights near the pool and outside of front door as it didn’t have much light over all we enjoyed it and kids had a na making time . Would have like to seen a ping pong table or basket ball hoop for kids to play some activities would have been nice ."

The space
Welcome to our Harvest Hideaway! We’re centrally located in the heart of Sonoma Valley, right in downtown Glen Ellen.

Built in the 1930’s and completely remodeled in 2017, our house has the charm and character of an older home, with new hardwood floors and all modern amenities.

You will enjoy your own private room with a queen bed (down comforter), walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom, containing a double sink & spacious walk-in shower. Wifi, television (with Netflix, Hulu, etc), a fan/heater, and a small refrigerator are available for your convenience and comfort. You also have your own independent heating/AC to keep the room comfortable during your stay.

This room does not have access to the kitchen or the rest of the home, but you do have access to our lovely screen porch where you can enjoy breakfast and watch the hummingbirds visit our feeders. And you are welcome enjoy the numerous sitting areas in our backyard or sit by our chickens and let them entertain you for hours.

This is a quiet, private room, closed off from the rest of the house with it's own private access.

The house is within a block of a handful to fantastic restaurants, tasting rooms, and the great Glen Ellen Village Market.

We’re a 10 minute drive to Kenwood, 15 minutes to Sonoma Square, and 30 to Napa. Drive west and you're in Bodega Bay within an hour; south, and you're on the Golden Gate Bridge. You can't beat the location!

You will have your own private room (with private entry), with an ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet. You are welcome to enjoy the enclosed screen porch, as well as lounge outside in the backyard, or visit our garden and chickens.

Other things to note
On the 1/2 acre property, set a little behind the house, there is an occupied cottage with tenants. They do work from home, so please be respectful of their space.

We do not provide coffee/tea in the room as we have found that empty sugar packets attract ants from our wooded neighborhood. There is a wonderful patisserie a block away, as well as the local market and a fabulous breakfast/brunch cafe. All will serve up an excellent cup of coffee for you. In lieu of the coffee/tea, please do enjoy the bottle of wine we leave. :)

The bedroom shares a wall with our dining room. We have double-insulated that wall to minimize noise. We do, on occasion, host dinners with friends and there may be some noise that filters through the wall, but we do ensure that all is quiet by 11pm, so that you can be sure of a peaceful night's sleep.

For a drink and something basic like a burger or fish and chips there is The Jack London Saloon, which has a great patio .

You will be in the heart of Sonoma Valley's grape growing region, enjoying sunny days surrounded by nature and cool nights under the brilliant stars. Easy access to the towns of Kenwood, Glen Ellen, Sonoma, Santa Rosa and beyond, to Napa, Healdsburg, and the Russian River. It is only an hour to the Coast, and about the same to San Francisco. Several outstanding hiking spots are a short drive from our property, including 3 state parks (Jack London, Sugarloaf and Annadel) and several Sonoma County Regional Parks.

We have a 31 night minimum stay at all times, and of course, are available for longer stays. Please note that the standard cleaning fee will be increased for longer stays, and for pets with long hair/shedding, and/or multiple pets.

The Cottage is ideally suited for one person and one dog.
We do not allow cats. A second dog will be considered for an additional charge. Couples are welcome, however the maximum occupancy is 2 persons.

Pets visiting here must be well-behaved and on-leash when outdoors except when closed in the large dog run in front of The Cottage. This property is not suitable for puppies, dogs that are not 100% housebroken, untrained dogs, or dogs that are not accustomed to travel. Excessive, uncontrolled barking, howling, whining, and/or whimpering is not permitted. Please be sure to always pick up after your pet(s).

If your pet is not going to be in your company at least 90% of the time that you will be here then please, PLEASE let us know your intentions in advance :-) Please note that we welcome you and are happy to work with you about your pet(s) being here when you are not, however, we require that pets be crated when left indoors unattended.

Our cute apartment in Glen Ellen is a wonderful location to enjoy Sonoma Wine Country and the outdoors. Located in the heart of charming Sonoma Valley, you can walk to wine tasting rooms, several restaurants, a French Bakery, gourmet market and historic saloon for dinner and pool. Hiking the trails at the Jack London State Park is just minutes up the road or we are walking distance to the trails at Sonoma Valley Regional Park and the Elizabeth Anne Peronne Dog Park. When you're ready to venture further, historic Sonoma is a 15 minute drive, Kenwood for more wine tasting is 10 minutes and just an hour to the coast.

The space
Our apartment is a walk out basement space located below our family home. It features a walk-in bathtub with shower, toilet, bathroom sink and vanity, full refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, French press, electric kettle, smart TV, indoor dining table and chairs, private entrance and fenced patio. Keyless check-in makes your arrival simple and quick.

The fenced patio contains a seating area to enjoy a quiet morning or watching the sunset over the ancient oaks. Dishware, utensils, water and wine glasses are provided.

Please note: due to dry conditions and wildfire risk absolutely no open flames permitted on premises.

Located on a quiet secluded lane our apartment is relaxing, slow paced and is ready for your visit.

An atmospheric wine country retreat awaits at this A-frame cabin, a beautiful pocket of Glen Ellen free from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is a place to immerse yourself in peaceful surroundings, sipping coffee on the deck with a view of the garden and curling up by the woodstove with a good book for company.

A fantastic monthly getaway (30-night minimum) for writers and remote workers, this cabin boasts an ideal location in charming and scenic Glen Ellen. The center of town - home to the renowned Glen Ellen Star - is less than a mile down the road, and Jack London State Historic Park is just two miles beyond. The surrounding area is a wine lover's haven, with world-class vineyards lining the Sonoma Highway between downtown Sonoma, nine miles south, and Santa Rosa, 13 miles north.

Greet each morning outside on the deck, accessible from the light-filled bedroom and the open living space. It's a lovely spot to linger with the morning newspaper, barbecue on the electric grill in the afternoons, and unwind at sunset with a new bottle of local wine.

Relax in a charming studio cottage located on Sonoma Creek in the heart of Glen Ellen. The cottage sits on ¾ acres of landscaped nature, with roses and oak trees a plenty. Within a two-block stroll are world-class restaurants – the Fig Café, and the Glen Ellen Star – as well as tasting rooms, the Garden Café (for breakfast and lunch), the Jack London Lodge and the Glen Ellen Village Market.

The cottage has been lovingly outfitted for comfort and for food and wine-lovers. Recently remodeled with cork floors, a kitchen bar, custom cabinetry, and a fully equipped kitchen, the cottage has all the amenities you’d need for a long weekend or weeklong stay. Gas range, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and outdoor gas grill – just show up, as we take care of all the details: pots, pans, dishes, utensils, condiments, olive oil, coffee and more. In front of the cottage is our flower garden, full of roses, wild plum trees and culinary herbs (rosemary and thyme), so feel free to pluck anything you like! In the back, the right side of the deck is reserved for the Rose Cottage, including the dining deck - please respect the deck space to the left, as that is our private residence.

Comfort is key, as you sleep on the comfy queen-sized bed, or relax and hang out on the sectional (with full-size sofa bed). There is a full bath with shower, and for entertainment, there’s a flat screen TV and free internet wi-fi. At night, sleep to the bubbling sounds of Sonoma Creek.

Situated in the historic Sonoma Valley, dozens of wineries are nearby, including our favorites: Benziger, Imagery, and VJB, among many others. Glen Ellen abounds with nature – you can walk to Sonoma Valley Regional Park from the cottage, or enjoy nearby Jack London State Park, Sonoma Botanic Garden, and more. A 15-minute drive takes you to Sonoma Plaza, and Russian River or Napa County are in easy reach for even more incredible wines.

We love visiting Italy and have designed our Olive Grove Suite to have a European feel. Quality linens and spotlessly clean. The light from the windows filtered through the trees is beautiful. It is a very peaceful and quiet setting. We have drinks, including a bottle of wine available in a mini frig for our guests. Peet's coffee Keurigs as well as assortment of teas and half and half provided.

There is a private, locked, entrance to the Olive Grove Suite separate from the main house. The room is spacious and there is a nice, small deck just outside the french door under a redwood tree that is available for relaxation. There is also a sitting area, just for guests, in the Olive Grove. We provide detailed instructions about walks from the guest suite - this is a rural area and the walks are lovely.

Pets are not allowed at the property. If you bring a pet on the property, we will ask for an additional $100 cleaning fee.

Typically there is a two night minimum requirement for weekend reservations (Friday and Saturday), however, if part of the weekend is already booked, single overnights are possible.

Check-out is 11:00 am. The housekeeper will arrive at 11:00 to start cleaning. Guests who have not been granted a late check-out, and do not depart on time will be asked for a late check-out fee of $50.

Hosmer House is a vintage gem, well preserved yet well appointed. Fully curated decor fills our families historic cabin. Close to wine tasting, fine dining and 3 state parks w/pass in historic Glen Ellen and Kenwood. Large always hot spa, fireplace, full kitchen, big TV, propane fire pit, screened in dining porch and 2 sets of french doors off the living room so you can enjoy nature or just curl up by the fire. The space
From the original log mantelpiece to the old time screened in dining room, our cabin will be a relaxing and welcome retreat. You’ll be surrounded by the beauty of the California Redwood planks that cannot be replaced. Outdoor spaces abound. We provide an escape from todays modern times by offering the feel of the great camps of the 1800's/early 1900's, but improved by modern necessities like a dishwasher, spa, upgraded bathroom and more.

Guests enjoy the full use of the kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals including appliances, (Vitamix! blender, rice cooker etc) plastic wrap, spices, condiments, and more. Choose from Fiesta-ware or plain white dishes.

Your choice of K-cup coffees, and creamers, etc, are fast to make with our K-cup machine. Or bring your own ground coffee to use with our Chemex drip. Take it to -go with the provided to-go cups.

Guest access
Guests have access to the house, yard, front porch, pergola, dining porch, back porch and back yard sitting areas. Our resident caretaker/housekeeper for the compound lives in the unit adjacent. There is no sharing except the parking lot and the laundry area.

Other things to note
Hosmer House was designed by my great grandfather and has received attention from the Press Democrat (a subsidiary of the New York Times) newspaper for the unique preservation of the structure. We have a little corner of the living room dedicated to our own little "museum" with the history of the property. Our family has been sharing the place with family and friends for over 100 years! Please come join us in making more happy times in this historic vacation space.

I live next-door and you might see me gardening, watering the gardens near your rooms, etc. I will do my best to not be too close by but sometimes watering is needed. I will attempt to water (outside) while you are out or between 10 AM and 4 PM.

Recently completed renovation and brand new impeccable furnishings. The great room has a gas fireplace which adds warmth. Beautiful sky lights let in the golden California sun. Settle in on the sectional for a light afternoon read or catch up on your latest series on the smart tv. A compact fully stocked kitchen - induction cooktop, double oven and variety of kitchen utensils will meet all your cooking needs. The first bedroom offers a king size bed. Jack and Jill bathroom leads to the adjoining second bedroom with a full-size daybed and twin trundle for extra sleeping accommodations. The outdoor area is equipped with an electric grill and oversized umbrella covering a retro patio picnic table and benches, perfect for cocktail hour and dinner.

Meander through the lovely pathway filled with roses and wild California flowers as you sip your morning coffee or tea and gaze upon nature on the covered deck.

While the famed Glen Ellen Springs are quite literally a stone’s throw from our cottage, there are dozens of vineyards and wineries are moments away as Sonoma County is known for state parks as well and Napa Valley a short 20 minute drive. The abundance of eateries and the charming Glen Ellen saloon are less than 3 miles away. The Russian River resort area, guernville and Sonoma coast are also less than a 30 minute scenic ride if you want to visit San Francisco you will be at the Golden gate in less than an hour. This is the perfect cottage for a retreat and a dip into the Bucolic Sonoma countryside.

Head to the bonus room, equipped with a 75" TV, comfortable seating, karaoke machine, wet bar (no booze included =) ), ping pong table and laundry closet. The attached garage is not available for parking vehicles, however, there is ample parking in front of the private access home. The additional stand-alone garage is used for owner storage, and not made available to guests. You will find LED ambient lighting accenting throughout the entire home providing warmth and comfort to set the mood.

THE POOL: Step outside to discover your slice of paradise, featuring a sparkling, unheated outdoor swimming pool surrounded by sweeping views of the majestic landscape, reclining pool chairs, and marble-top side tables. The third bathroom listed is located in the pool shed steps away from the pool and is not connected to the main house. This bathroom features a shower, toilet, and sink and serves as a perfect changing room or bathroom to use while swimming. The other half of the pool shed is a storage space and you will find some pool floaties to use for your stay.
Lounge in style on premium outdoor patio furniture or sink into the egg chair while soaking in the serenity of nature. Fire up the 36" Weber gas grill for al fresco dining on the Dekton backyard dining table, where every meal becomes a memorable experience.

- No Pets Allowed: Our vacation rental home maintains a 'No pets policy' to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, as well as the safety of pets themselves - the property is not fenced. The owner has a pet allergy and often visits the property. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy.
- No Children Allowed: Due to safety concerns regarding the swimming pool, local wildlife, and the property being unfenced, this vacation rental home operates under a strict 'No Children Policy.' Reservations with children listed will be canceled by the platform.
- No Shoes Indoors: To maintain the immaculate cleanliness of the home, we provide cozy, single-use slippers for all guests and ask you to remove shoes by the door. We advise you to bring slippers or slides to comfortably walk around the stone surfaces surrounding the pool area. There are a few uneven flagstones around the pool so please be mindful.
- Wildlife: Please be aware that Glen Ellen is located in the hills of Sonoma and bugs and wildlife may be present outdoors. The property is up to date on pest control visits but we encourage you to keep screens closed on all windows and patio doors during your stay.
-Pool Cover: For safety reasons, and to keep the pool clean, please close the automatic pool cover after pool usage. The pool is regularly serviced and treated between guest stays. The pool is NOT heated.
-Pool and Wildlife Waiver: Upon booking, please share your direct email address so we can request you to sign a DocuSign liability waiver for pool usage and safety tips for swimming and wildlife caution.
