Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, antiques, spa, night life, kayak and paddle-board rentals, fishing, tea room, bank, library, park, waterfront... Home has a lot of character, full kitchen and Laundry. CLEAN, comfy beds, clean home and fresh linens. Internet and cable TV, games, books. BBQ and table seating in the patio. Also on the property is a cottage that can sleep 4. Garden cottage is also listed on HomeAway. Another option is a Disney theme play house down the brick path, $30 per day additional fee. Close to I 80 and 680. 38 miles to San Francisco, 24 miles to Napa Valley, 130 miles to Monterey & Carmel California, 12 miles to Concord, Walnut Creek is just beyond Concord, Yosemite 210 miles, Lake Tahoe 174 mile. The Mountains are about 2.5 to 3 hours away great skiing, hiking, bike riding, lake, waterfalls, horse back rentals... and the coast is less than an hour away Beautiful scenic drive up and down the coast. Just a note to bring jackets summer and winter the weather in California can range a lot in a few miles. Winter months are our rainy season, but we get periodic fog by the coast in summer.

Favorite places to go:
Our new favorite thing to do is owl watching at the playground just after sunset. There are white owls living in the trees there and can also be seen by the house away from the lights.
Down Town Benicia is a favorite historic patriotic town. A Main St Town, has weekend events such as music and art festivals, classic car shows, farmers market on Thursday afternoon...
Benicia was the second capital of California with the Capital building museum off of First Street, Yacht club, waterfront fishing, shops, salons, spas, gym, cafes, antique shops, restaurants, chapel, play ground... and public pool and tennis next block. All of these are in walking distance.
Carmel by the Sea:
so quaint, European Type town where there are no house numbers only street addresses. Charm everywhere. One of California's Missions still in service with Sunday mass there. A stroll down Ocean Drive will take you by shops, cafes and restaurants and down the street to a sand hill with the Pacific Ocean at the bottom where you can sit and watch dolphins, sea lions and occasional migrating whales. Definite place to spend the entire day or weekend. Just next town is Monterey, and Pacific Grove, lots of nature all around you, deer are comely seen at the Pebble Beach golf coarse and in the neighboring streets, water wade pools to explore by the shore. State of the art aquarium, restaurants, whale and dolphine watching boat tours in the mornings. I recommend The Grotto restaurant at the fishermen's boardwalk, great food, never had a bad experience there.
San Francisco:
Speaks for it self. One of my favorite city in the world.
Napa Valley:
Wine country, mineral spas, early morning balloon rides... gorgeous view, wine tasting, restaurants... Near by Sonoma has another mission, 18 century army barracks museum with the history of California, restaurants, deli, bakery, shops and boutiques...
Lake Tahoe:
The place where they filmed the TV series Bonanza. The reason for that series was to promote color TV. It's easy to see why. The lake is crystal clear with sandy shoreline and beautiful evergreen mountain. The smell of the pines are wonderful. Great skiing and winter sports as well as beaches, and water activities in summer. Bike trails go for miles, horse back rentals at a few locations. It is mostly mountain wilderness, but there are a few casinos on both shore. Lake Tahoe is located on the border of California / Nevada.
Yosemtie:
This is a jewel that started the National Park preservation. Abraham Lincoln took time in the middle of the civil war to dedicate this park. Very different from Tahoe. Yosemite Valley has tall water falls, some can be seen from the road, but a few are hidden away between the hills and just a couple hour hike. Camping and house tents are available in Half Dome Village where there is a cafeteria, ice cream shop and nightly amphitheater. There are free shuttles in the valley as well as tour buses that can show you the sights. Glacier Point is farther up at the south rim of Yosemite, but it's a must see in summer only, winter is closed due to snow. A few miles beyond that are the Sequoias. These tall trees are the oldest living trees in the world and only found in California. Some are over 2000 and 3000 years old. It feels like a cathedral of nature to be among them.

We are located in the Bay Area in the city of Benicia. It is a great location if you are planning to travel to Napa and San Francisco during your stay, since it sits right in between those two cities. It is located right on the Bay with a cute downtown area. I can recommend my favorite restaurants and things to do in the area as well!

This is a small studio with a private entrance that is attached to the back of our house. It has a kitchenette with all the basics to cook a meal, a place to eat, a queen bed, couch, large closet, and attached bathroom. We are excited to provide a space to you to stay and enjoy what the Bay Area has to offer!

You will have access to the private studio as shown in the photos, the shared laundry room which you can access from outside right next to your entrance, and the backyard. The backyard has a grill, outdoor table, and fire pit and chairs that you can use as well.

This space is connected to our home where our family lives. We have tried our best to soundproof the room, however, you are still able to hear us and we can hear you. During the day there may be noise, so if you prefer a quiet place, this may not be for you. We do include ear plugs and a sound machine if you would like to drown out any noise during the day and at night.

It was a very minor issue and one that the property owner mentioned in the listing as well. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in this Benicia vacation rental and would certainly come back for future vacations!"

Definitely not ADA accessible. The view shown in the add is a few years old. Shrubs and trees are in line with the bridge so sunsets and views are a little obscured. The porch is a great place to sit but he doesn’t have any outside furniture. Luckily we had our own beach chairs to enjoy the view from the porch for the ladies and girls stayed home while our guys went to the races in Sonoma. As for our host he’s good and greets you at the door. Wish he had a guest book with all the information he rattled off. I felt uneasy to consistently texting him for information but he was right there when needed. I wish him the best but hope that before anyone rents they ask for a view from the street."

An hour to SF or 30 minutes to the heart of the wine country. A meandering 1 1/2 hours to Stinson, Bondi, Pt Reyes. The redwoods are just a bit further and going in the opposite direction you will find gold country and the Sierra foothills. Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley and Reno are a 3-4 hour drive.

- "The property was as advertised and was very comfortable for my group. Plenty of room for us all. The room downstairs with the bath attached was great for my elderly mother. On issue we did have as the WiFi didn't always work per the log-in for the Television. Also the television in the room with the pool table did not function and had a damaged connection. This was not a huge deal for my group, but just thought I would mention it. The backyard was great for the kids to play and it was nice having some play equipment for them to play with. Overall the stay was wonderful."

Newly remodeled studio in a cute safe town by the water. Located 45 minutes from San Francisco and 30 minutes from Napa.

We are located in the Bay Area in the city of Benicia. It is a great location if you are planning to travel to Napa and San Francisco during your stay, since it sits right in between those two cities. It is located right on the Bay with a cute downtown area. I can recommend my favorite restaurants and things to do in the area as well!

The space
This is a small studio with a private entrance that is attached to the back of our house. It has a kitchenette with all the basics to cook a meal, a place to eat, a queen bed, couch, large closet, and attached bathroom. We are excited to provide a space to you to stay and enjoy what the Bay Area has to offer!

You will have access to the private studio as shown in the photos, the shared laundry room which you can access from outside right next to your entrance, and the backyard. The backyard has a grill that you can use as well.

Other things to note
This space is connected to our home where our family lives. We have tried our best to soundproof the room, however, you are still able to hear us and we can hear you. During the day there may be noise, so if you prefer a quiet place, this may not be for you. We do include ear plugs and a sound machine if you would like to drown out any noise during the day and at night.

A comfortable central location to visit the bay area overlooking the Carquinez Straits located 20 minutes from Bottle Rock and downtown Napa, 35 minutes from Berkeley and less than an hour to San Francisco by public transit or car. Or you can just relax in the beautiful back-yard with waterfall, pond and stately redwood trees and enjoy the small town living of Benicia.

Experience the incomparable San Francisco Bay Area while relaxing in our quiet historic waterfront town. Historic Benicia,located on the Carquinez Straits and once the state capital, is centrally located close to Napa (22 miles), San Francisco (35 miles), Berkeley (20 miles), Sonoma (33 miles) and 6 Flags/Marine World Park (7 miles). Public Transit is a short distance away, as is Ferry service right to the sights in San Francisco.
A charming traffic-free family-friendly town, Benicia boasts a thriving downtown shopping district (all locally owned!) with a stunning waterfront section and park, a thriving arts community, award-winning restaurants and easy direct access to the bay for boats/canoes/kite surfers as well as your choice of beaches and our many parks. Also Benicia is part of the Bay Area Bike Path system, and hiking is available all through the town and region.
The main bathroom has a bath and shower.and the kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave and gas stove. There is a washer and dryer in the garage as well as an extra refrigerator. The deck overlooks the Carquinez Strait.

The guesthouse has one very comfortable queen bed (Purple brand mattress), plus a queen air mattress is provided.

For your comfort, during summer months and times of excessive heat a window A/C unit will be setup in the guesthouse.

Our guesthouse is a stand alone dwelling. Guests enter through the side gate and backyard. (Please be mindful to keep gate securely closed as our children and dog* also use the backyard.)

*Junie is an excitable, young shepherd mix still working on her manners. If you or your children are uncomfortable around dogs, this might not be the right place for you.

Other things to note
Since the guesthouse shares a backyard with our family home, you may occasionally hear the pleasant (and sometimes unpleasant) sounds of our children and dog while they are playing outside.

Private, recently remodeled with faux wood flooring 1-bedroom studio has a beautiful view of the Carquinez Straits, separate garden entrance, a stocked kitchenette (no stove/oven), full bath, SMART TV, and plenty of space and privacy. The studio is an attached, 2nd level upstairs unit, but completely private from the main house. Because of this, there is very little sound carryover between the two areas. While there is door that leads to a flight of stairs that separates this unit from the main house, there is a lock on both sides of the door to ensure your privacy. You can come and go as you please through a separate garden entrance.
The space is about 400 square feet and has a "kitchenette" area with a stocked mini refrigerator, sink, microwave and coffee maker.

This guest suite is located in the scenic historic district of Benicia. You can stroll through the Historic Arsenal and the area offers incredible views of the Bay, bridges, and ships of the Benicia Port and Marina. Downtown is just a few blocks away.
This suite is centrally located for enjoyment of the region - Napa, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, & Sacramento.
Up to 2 dogs are allowed, but, sorry, no cats. The Suite is ideal for up to 2 adults and 1 child, but small for 3 adults.

The guest suite is located on the lower level of the host's home with a dedicated parking space, EV car hookup, and a private garden with a locked gate.
The suite has one bedroom with a queen bed. The living room can function as a second bedroom with a privacy door and a twin sofa bed.
The living area contains a kitchenette, dining table and workspace. A French door leads out to a small deck.
There is a friendly & quiet golden retriever, Moseley, that lives upstairs separated from your suite. If you meet him, he loves other dogs (but sorry no cats). 🐾

Guests are provided one dedicated parking space next to the entrance to the suite that includes EV car hookup. If additional parking spaces are needed, the area has ample parking available. Public transportation access is ideal - regional bus access 4 blocks, BART station 10 miles, and the Vallejo Ferry Terminal with access to San Francisco only 8 miles.

Other things to note
Benicia is a paradise for outdoor activities. Hikers will enjoy hundreds of miles of trails including the Benicia State Park and Carquinez Strait Regional Shoreline. Bikers can explore numerous 4 and 5 star mountain bike trails in the region and street bikers can explore trips into the State Park as well as take a trip over the Benicia Bridge. Swimmers have the option to swim in the waters of the Bay or take a dive at Benicia's 4-star James Lemos Swim Center which offers a nice wading pool for children as well. In addition, the City of Benicia offers fitness centers, parks and outdoor community activities for all ages.

The daybed sports a trundle bed that rolls out with a memory foam mattress, therefore can sleep up to 4 people.

The space
Your private entrance opens to a mudroom for your coat and shoes. The living room is cozy with a comfortable queen-size hide-a-bed/sofa, over-sized chair, four-person game/dining table and a wall-mounted HDTV ready for streaming your favorite shows. Board games are located under the dining table.

The two bedrooms have comfortable queen-size beds, night stands with USB outlets and dressers for storage. Fans, space heaters and an iron/ironing board are available in the closets. Books, a chess board and playing cards are available from your bookcase.

The bathroom features a walk-in shower, plenty of towels, toilet paper, a hair dryer, cleaning supplies and toiletries.

The kitchen has a cozy eating nook with a butcher block table. The granite and butcher block counters provide sufficient space for cooking/baking and cabinets/drawers include the tools to prepare your home-cooked meals for those nights you just want to stay in. Of course, all you need to set your table is also provided, including children’s tableware. Other appliances/accessories include: range/ceramic cooktop, dishwasher, disposal, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and refrigerator/freezer with ice maker.

The shared laundry room is accessible by YOU via two entrances: backyard doorway and your kitchen door. Other guests can only enter via the backyard entrance. The laundry room includes a commercial-size washer and dryer, detergent/softner and a utility sink.

Just as the laundry room is shared, so are the back/side yards. Improvements are in the works, as you’ll notice. We plan to ensure each unit also has its own semi-private patio, while the hot tub, games and various seating areas are available to all on property. Beach towels, games and beach shovels/pails/umbrellas are available for guest use via the laundry room shelves.

There are multiple areas outside your cottage to relax, grill, soak in the 12-person hot tub, dine/enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee or challenge your travel companions to a game of corn hole, croquet, cups, jenga or frisbee. Shake off the day with a nightcap in the rocking chairs under the fruit trees. Fairy lights/lanterns softly illuminate the trees and landscape, while pathway lights help to safely guide your way.

Parking is available on 3rd and J streets. J street parking in front of your sand pathway is closest to your front door.

Town is a five-minute walk and the water is two-three blocks from your home-away-home.

It is close to family-friendly activities, the beach, restaurants, and dining. Napa is 15 miles, and San Francisco is 30 miles. Benicia offers a charming main street with lots of dining. You will absolutely love the city of Benicia. Perfect place for couples and families. pets allowed with breed restrictions.

The entire house is yours. The outside space will be your favorite. There is no one behind us and the views are incredible.The entire house is comfy and you will feel at home.

The entire home is available for use except the garage and one walk in closet. There is plenty of parking in the driveway and in front the home. If the garage is absolutely necessary, something can be worked out.

Other things to note
The home is very clean, but i have a dog and there may be some random pug hairs in the house. If you're severely allergic to dogs, this house might not work for you.

Also, I always try to do an in-person check in. I think it improves the experience when I'm able to explain any quirks about the property and give recommendations.
