- "Everything we needed and more! Adorable cottage, comfortable, excellent location!" - "This unit is the front half of a small house in Walnut Creek. It has a living room with two-person sleeper sofa, dining area, kitchen, small master bedroom, very small second bedroom, and one bathroom. It's an old house, but it's in good shape. One huge advantage is that the host allows daytime guests. We had some relatives over for a family lunch one day, and surprisingly there was enough room for everyone. The home is roomier than it looks. :-) To sleep six people, you have to move a twin bed from the garage into the very small bedroom. That takes the rest of the available space in that bedroom. It works, but if you need lots of space, you should look elsewhere. The location is beautiful, convenient to downtown Walnut Creek and a bike/pedestrian trail. The neighborhood is nice, mostly apartments and condos but a few old houses like this one. The front door latch and lock are old fashioned and a little tricky, but our host talked us through how to work it and avoid locking ourselves out. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay in a beautiful location for a good price."

This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit located on the 2nd floor of a duplex.
Each room in the space has it’s own heater/AC unit, as well as a Smart 4k TV.

Bedroom #2 has a full bed with a deck overlooking the backyard.
The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials to prepare a meal, a combo coffee maker with everything provided, and sports all brand new appliances and a quartz countertop.
The living room has a large, comfy sectional with a 65” smart 4k TV, for when it’s time to wind down.

New remodeled studio with King bed, assigned parking spot, and patio. Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Within a 2-mile radius is Downtown Walnut Creek, the library, Civic park, Lesher Center for arts, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods ...Downtown is famous for shopping and restaurants. Lots of fantastic restaurants, many with outdoor seating.Downtown shops or name brand stores like Nordstrom’s, Tiffany's, Macy’s... 5 minutes to Highway 680 and 24. About 28 minutes to SFO.
- "This property afforded me the luxury of commuting from the Peninsula to my educational dinner on Friday and conference @ John Muir Hospital the following Saturday. It was tucked in a cul-de-sac my concern was that with the retaining wall adjacent I would hear a lot of traffic actually it was very quiet. The only noise I heard was the neighborhood when I had the sliding door open to enjoy the small patio. I had good rapport with the owner and was given thorough instructions regarding the unit. Having an assigned parking spot was really nice. It must be stated that downtown WC is quite the distance from the unit and if one were to walk it's quite the schlep. Parking is also challenging which is why I elected to Lyft to sightsee and dine downtown. It was a good time in WC"

Ideally set up for a quiet couple or single traveler, this is the perfect spot for those wanting to be downtown with a private yard.
The guest suite is accessible via gate access on the right side of the main house There is driveway parking directly in front for easy access. The guest suite is totally separate from the main house with its own entrance and small private yard.
The guest suite is not big (about 460 sq. ft.), but well equipped and cozy. There is 1 bedroom and a bathroom with stall shower. The separate living room area has a couch, lift-top coffee table, TV & efficiency kitchen (it does not have a range but has a microwave, convection oven, 1 burner induction hot plate, fridge, sink, storage and includes cookware/dinnerware).
1-2 Small pets on a case by case basis with extra pet fee.

Situated on a quiet court & just blocks away from downtown, Starbucks, dining and shopping, this two-bedroom residence offers the utmost convenience and comfort for any traveler. Professionally designed décor & furnishings throughout. The property features two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a fully equipped kitchen and a grand open floor plan that extends to an enclosed outdoor patio with heating.

Suggest you try sleeping two people, pre one person!, on the foldout before advertising the unit sleeps four/has two beds. Suggest folding out/ vacuuming the foldout after each guest. This newly constructed studio is situated at the rear of our main house, just a 5-minute walk from the Walnut Creek BART Station, offering direct train service to downtown Oakland (25 minutes) and downtown San Francisco (35 minutes). Super Target is located four blocks away, with convenient access to Starbucks, grocery stores, and other amenities. For those who enjoy fine dining and cocktails, a variety of exceptional restaurants, bars, and retail shops are within a 15-minute walk.
Free street parking and parking permit is provided.

- "The space could have been so much nicer. It looks great and has good appliances, nice bathroom etc but it was pretty bare bones. The garbage cans were microscopic. Everything seemed to purchased assuming you would only be throwing away Kleenex. If you enjoy a firm mattress, this is the place for you. It was exceptionally firm to the point of hard. I couldn’t sleep the first night because it was so uncomfortable. The second night I paid close to 300 to stay at a nearby hotel which was a fantastic decision. I’d also mention that while showering I noticed that the grout was separating from the corner of the shower. I pushed on it with my finger and the cement was so sharp it cut my finger. I’ve been wearing a bandaid for the past 2 days and having difficulty typing for work which has been a constant reminder of the lack of sleep I experienced that fateful night. Point is, replacing the bed would make this place waaaaaaay nicer. And please fix the grout. "

Note that although the house is equipped with central air conditioning, I don't use it very much to save energy. The house can stay cool enough if we open windows at night, close them in the morning, and use the ceiling fans. There is also an automatic attic fan that helps keep the house cool.

25 miles east of San Francisco - great access to 'The City', San Jose, Marin, Napa (45 minutes away), Sonoma, Livermore, Santa Cruz, Sacramento (1 hr away), Monterey, Yosemite (4 hrs), and Lake Tahoe (2.5 hrs away.). Five minutes from Interstate 680 and Highway 24.
Lovely wooded and hilly neighborhood with supermarkets, drugstore and restaurants within 1/2 mile. Private backyard with Italian-style patio for enjoying your morning coffee or evening dinner. High end shopping and restaurants in downtown Walnut Creek 2.5 miles away (6 minute drive) or Lafayette 4 miles away (8 minute drive) or Pleasant Hill 2.5 miles away (6 minute drive).
Easy street parking in front of home without restrictions. NOTE: I am not close to public transportation. Best to have a car to stay here. Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek BART stations are just 2 miles away. You can drive to BART stations and park for a $3.00 fee for the day M-F; free on weekends. It takes about 35 minutes to walk to either BART station. It is a safer walk (all sidewalks and traffic light crossings) to the Pleasant Hill BART station. There are shopping centers with coffee shops and fast food and supermarkets along the way.

My husband and I interact with our guests as much as they want to converse or request information about the area. Many of our guests have felt comfortable watching TV in the living room with us or eating a meal or enjoying a drink together. The cat, on the other hand, will probably avoid socializing and may never be visible at all.

If needed, I have plenty of items to loan out while you stay here: umbrella, jackets (San Francisco is cold in the summer and I will not let you freeze), picnic supplies, cooler, ice packs, beach towels, backpack, beach chairs, camping chairs, etc.

This unit is nestled in the side of a hill. Landscape is currently a work in progress, but you will hear the birds chirping away in the morning and may spot a hummingbird or two at one of the bird feeders.
I recently installed an Orbi satellite wifi booster, which now provides high speed internet!! Orbi has an ethernet portal, as well.
I use the August Smart Lock system. Essentially this system uses an app on your phone to unlock and lock the door. No more codes to remember or keypads to fumble with at night.
The Hideaway 3 has an induction cooking plate, microwave, toaster oven, single serve coffee maker, small closet, beveled tiled shower, elongated toilet, and vanity.
Guests have access to a washer, dryer, and clothes line all located just a few steps outside the Hideaway.
There is also free street parking approximately 50 feet from the property.
For long-term guests we require a bi-weekly cleaning paid by the guest on an ongoing basis.

Guest will have complete access to be the garden area, which has various fresh organic vegetables planted; such as tomatoes, green beans, radishes, cilantro, nopales (cactus - we can give instructions on prep), beets and other hopefuls. Also, several fruit trees planted in recent years.
Gardening is seasonal, so depending on the time of year, there may not be anything to harvest.
Long-term guests are welcome to plant something of their choosing. Please chat with the host to discuss this in more detail. :)

It's a very quiet neighborhood and private with a large backyard. Don’t be surprised if you see a deer greet your arrival. Great alternative to staying in San Francisco if you want to explore Northern California, Napa/Sonoma are less than an hour away, Santa Cruz is an hour and a half, Mendocino is 3 hours, Carmel is 2 hours. Lake Tahoe is 3 hours away.

The space
Our suite comprises a spacious sunny bedroom, which overlooks the garden on all aspects, with a private bathroom. It has its own private garden entrance with easy access from the off street parking tucked away by our driveway. The very comfy queen size bed has a 100% cotton linens and a heated mattress cover for the chillier months. The en suite bathroom has a large walk in shower and heated towel rail. There is tea and coffee making equipment - an electric kettle, a cafe press, fresh ground coffee, and a variety of teas. In the little fridge are seasonal fruits, yogurt and milk and some healthy cereals for a quick and easy breakfast. We have high speed internet here.
This suite is completely separate from the rest of the house with its own lockable exterior door to the garden.

Our fully furnished, tastefully decorated studio cottage is on a private tree lined road in the Tice Valley area of Walnut Creek. Guests will be surrounded by nature, yet live minutes from downtown.
Numerous recreational activities are at your doorstep, as are shopping and a wide assortment of local restaurants.

The space
Our cottage is adjacent to our home, yet maintains a very private feel. It is perfect for folks who require temporary housing in the East Bay Area, and we would be delighted to host you whether you are new to the area, working nearby, remodeling your home, on an extended vacation, or for any other reason need a place to stay for awhile (minimum 32 days).
Two years ago we completed a full remodel with new appliances, countertops, floors, and fresh paint etc.

Guest access
Parking for the cottage is on our driveway, and access is via a path that runs beside our house. Feel free to enjoy our yard, patio, and BBQ.
Other things to note
Our tree lined private road runs beside a seasonal creek and many of our neighbors enjoy walking and greeting one another throughout the day.
