Shedding dogs must be keep brushed Uncontrolled barking not allowed as well. If you go out and leave your dog alone please don't leave your dog alone the first night. Our first floor guest suite is approximately 500 square feet with a large bedroom and newly redone bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and is equipped with all of the necessary supplies that travelers need. We supply a hair dryer, organic shampoo and conditioner and soap. The bedroom has a walk in closet with a supply of hangers and a small chest to put your folded items. The bed is a queen size bed and we supply the linens and towels. We like high count sheets for a comfortable sleep. Added blankets and pillows are also provided.
There is a sitting room off of the bedroom that also a joins a kitchenette that is fully supplied with a small fridge, hotplate, microwave and toaster oven as well as a convection oven.
There is a coffee maker and electric kettle for tea or cocoa. If it is one cup you want, we have a Keurig coffee maker as well. Plates and cutlery are supplied as well plus bowls for preparation of your meals.
There are staples such as spices, sugar, salt and pepper as well as coffee and filters and a good assortment of teas
We have an ironing board and iron in the closet and in the bedroom we have a smart television for streaming your favorite shows.
Outside, we have a lovely fountain if you so choose to have it on. Our garden is for you to enjoy sitting and reading or just having your morning coffee.
Since we live near to the areas of Glenwood, Loch Lomand, and Peacock Gap, we have hosted many family members that are visiting their children and grandchildren. They enjoy the proximity to their family members and to these neighborhoods but yet return and recuperate from all the family gatherings. A plus for us is the many returning guests. We always look forward to seeing our guests again and again. We also like to think of our rental as a quiet get away for couples as well.
If you enjoy the wine country, we are within an hour away and also if the city is a draw, we are less than an hour away. The town of San Rafael is about three miles west of us and it has an amazing art movie house as well as a great supply of restaurants with various cuisines.
Our area is quiet, and next to a marsh where you can see many different types of sea birds. It is an easy walk to Loch Lomond yacht harbor where you can just sit and view Mt. Tam or the bay and its boats and sea birds.

The apartment is as shown, with extremely comfortable beds and pillows, enough dinnerware for 4 people, and little touches like tea and coffee, games, and books. Our host also recommended excellent restaurants for our stay! The only note I would make, traveling from the Southeast, is that the A/C does not reference central air, which is not often needed in CA, rather individual standing units in each bedroom. These were cool, but did not get the rooms cold(er) during the summer temperatures. Overall, we would stay here again and highly recommend this property!"

This cozy studio is about 420 square feet and adjoins the house but has its own entrance.

We live in a quiet and safe neighborhood with lots of trees and walking trails nearby. The road to our house is narrow and winds around a bit, but it's only 1/3 of a mile from Lincoln Avenue, one of the main streets running through San Rafael. Downtown San Rafael is about a 15-minute walk (downhill going there, uphill coming back).

San Rafael is a convenient and central Bay Area location, only a 30-minute drive to Napa, San Francisco, Berkeley/Oakland, and about 20 minutes to the beach and Muir Woods. Downtown San Rafael and the transit station are about 1 mile away, as is the freeway entrance (101 north and south). The downtown area is charming, with artist studios, shops, restaurants, and a wonderful art house cinema. Sol Food Restaurant, less than a mile away, has been written up in the New York Times (36 Hours in Marin County); it has delicious and inexpensive Puerto Rican food. We're also near Dominican College, and the Terrapin Crossroads, a great new music venue owned by Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead.

We love hosting people and can guarantee you'll feel comfortable and well cared for. We have a small standard poodle who is very sweet and friendly. Looking forward to meeting you soon!

The entire home is all yours, inside and out. There is ample off street parking. One car in the garage and two in front of the house. Access the the entire home and deck, including two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, garage, two baths.

Nearby kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at 101 Sport just a half mile down the road.

The home is located in a Marina. There is an attractive catamaran parked in the water in front of the rear deck. Rarely, but on occasion and most often on Holidays, the owner enjoys relaxing with friends on his vessel.

This is a quiet Marina Neighborhood. Some people live on their boats. This is not a party house and noise levels on the deck must be respectful.

Pristine studio in the heart of Marin, walking distance to the north end of San Francisco Bay as well as China Camp State Park. Perfect jumping-off spot for exploring San Francisco, Marin, and the wine country of Sonoma and Napa. The kitchenette includes a convection microwave, portable cooktop, and air fryer, so you can prepare almost anything you could make with a regular oven and stovetop (yes, you can even bake a cake!).

The studio is in the lower part of a two-story home on a gated, wooded lot very close to hiking and biking trails. There is another, separate guest house on the property that we have been hosting as a vacation rental for 15 years. We live on the upper floor of the main home and will do our best to keep sounds to a minimum during your stay. (Please note: This studio probably isn’t for you if you couldn’t bear to hear footsteps once in a while.)

We are two blocks from Johnny Doughnuts for early coffee and sweets, dinner at The Kitchen Table or late night karaoke and trivia night at The Mayflower Pub.

We cater to couples with little ones because we know first hand how hard it is to be in a one room hotel with a sleeping baby.

We provide a pack-n-play, bedding, baby bath, sound machine, black out curtains, bibs, flatware and sippy cups in hopes you can feel like you're on vacation too.

This mom of two boys and former nanny/preschool teacher is also happy to babysit if you need a night out.

- "My husband and I stayed at the Hillside views property for 4 nights. The location was great w/street parking only. The condo has potential but it really needed a deep cleaning to the whole place. It was so dusty and dirty that I was very uncomfortable the entire time. It was a new listing and as such there was no TV, no toiletries, no spices, no decent cooking pans, oven didn't work, no dining table & chairs, the 2nd bedroom has a full size mattress directly on the floor. The property owner was very nice and responsive to my texts but not efficient enough to have had everything ready for us prior to our stay. We paid for a cleaning service fee that was obviously not performed. I had to improvise cleaning the kitchen, bathroom & closet shelves, not what you want to do at all. It was not conducive to hosting a gathering because of all of its limitations. It was not a good experience for us. Maybe the next guess will get a better experience."

Eli and Adam were very responsive to my texts and went out of their way to make sure the pool was good to go after all the rain storms we have had in California. The place is clean but small, perfect for a quick trip for one or two people. The bed was very comfortable and there were complimentary snacks and coffee. Dinners at locally recommended Vin Atico and Sol Food nearby in downtown San Rafael were wonderful. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay."

Park in our driveway. Walk toward the garage. On your left, just before reaching the garage, there's a gate to the back yard. The guest house is across the yard. A path leads to it. We rarely use the backyard so you can have it mostly to yourself and sometimes with our beagle, Leo. Please make sure to latch the gate behind you so Leo doesn't get out.

Beautiful 1930's house in Gerstal Park, one of the best and safest neighborhoods in San Rafael. Trees, nature, trails, etc. Street parking is available one block down the hill, and loading and unloading curbside by the house is fine. The only shared indoor space is the main kitchen for dishes and stovetop/oven oven use and the washer dryer area. This is a quiet, comfortable space. No partying, heavy drinking or drug use. Tobacco or 420 ok outside only on your patio seating area. No smoking at all indoors please. Smoking indoors will incur a $500 cleaning fee, no exceptions.

Guest access
This is your own private and separate unit 2 bedroom 1 bath unit in a private home. You also have your own outdoor seating area where smoking is allowed. There are no other smokers on property if smoke sensitivity is an issue. Guests who smoke indoors will be charged $500 for odor cleaning and smoke remediation no exceptions

Other things to note
There are 14 stairs leading to the front door and parking is a block down the hill. If you have physical challenges this may not be a good match. A temporary parking spot for loading and unloading by stairs is available. Also, if I am traveling I can sometimes make a spot in the driveway available.

There are stairs to the unit, about 25 total. Just a heads up!!

We are up in the hills so the roads are a bit more narrow, but we have seen full moving trucks up and down these hills so there should be no problem with everyday cars!

There are 4 parking spaces on our street and it is first come first served. There are additional spots at the end of the road in a dirt pull-off to the side. If you park in the furthest spot down that road it would be a 2-minute walk to the front door. Not far, but we like to mention this just in case. It is on a slight incline. Unfortunately, we can’t control parking so please note this when booking our home.

There are two dogs, and two adults who live upstairs in the main home. This can sometimes cause foot traffic.

This is a LOWER LEVEL UNIT* of a duplex which means there are people living in the top half of the duplex. Some foot traffic noise does come with the territory and we want to make sure we are upfront with you about this :)

This unit with its own entrance is conveniently located next to restaurants, hiking and biking trails. Roughly 20 min drive to SF Golden Gate Bridge, 35 min to Sonoma wine country and 45 min to Napa wine country. This private unit with fast wifi and smart tv has all the amenities you need.

The space
This attached downstairs unit has easy access with only one step to get in through its private entrance. You walk into the main area which is great to relax with a couch, Roku tv with guest mode and a small desk to get some work done. Next to the main area is the bedroom with a dresser and night stand with usb ports to charge your devices. On the other end of the unit a kitchenette with the amenities listed. There is not a hot plate or a stovetop.

Unit has shared central a/c and heating controlled by ecobee thermostat. Typical temp in unit is 70 degrees. In the unit a space heater and fan are provided. Ample street parking.

This lovely studio is a short drive (or walk) to downtown San Rafael, about 20 minutes from San Francisco, and about 30-40 minutes from Napa and Sonoma.

We are located on a hill in a safe and quiet neighborhood with lots of trees and walking trails nearby.

Please note: The road to our house from the main street (Lincoln Avenue) is 1/3 of a mile and is narrow and winding. There is also some light freeway noise.

There is plenty of street parking (no restrictions) in front of the house.

This cozy studio is about 420 square feet. It's on the ground level of our two-story home and has its own entrance.

San Rafael is a convenient and central Bay Area location, only a 20-minute drive to San Francisco, Berkeley/Oakland, Muir Woods, and about 45 minutes to Sonoma and Napa. Downtown San Rafael and the transit station are about 1 mile away, as is the freeway entrance (101 north and south). The downtown area is charming, with artist studios, shops, restaurants, and a wonderful art house cinema. Sol Food Restaurant, less than a mile away, has been written up in the New York Times (36 Hours in Marin County); it has delicious and inexpensive Puerto Rican food. We're also near Dominican College.

The Atrium Room is a cozy evening refuge for a short visit or longer stay. Come to this beautiful area for a change of scene, or as your headquarters for a meeting, conference or celebration. Visit the North Bay and its access to farmers' markets, hiking trails, beaches and wineries. Enjoy your own entrance. I have a tiny kitchen, so prefer that guests eat out, but I'm happy to offer a tasty breakfast. Since grandchildren are often in the house, I require that guests be vaccinated and boosted.

Queen bed in original Eichler room opens to the atrium garden. Enjoy your own entrance and a cozy wood-panelled room. Spend time in the front or back garden, climb the back hillside for a view of Frank Lloyd Wright's Civic Center or walk to shopping and restaurants several blocks away. The home is surrounded by gardens and places to work or relax. I offer a simple, healthy breakfast each morning and I encourage guests to try the many restaurants nearby for other meals.

We have some great restaurants in the neighborhood. Starting with Sol food, the queue speaks for itself. TKT on 4th and F St., another favorite (but expensive), and Taqueria Mi Familia at 55 Belham boulevard…tasty and authentic.

The farmers market are on Sunday and Thursday at the Civic Center and is another local must. The mushroom stall covers every imaginable variety, Chicken City by Kitty has the freshest eggs, and my personal favorite stall (which is organic and extremely cheap) is Tomatero Farms. You may have to queue , but it’s worth it.

The Bungalow is attached to the back of our large, tree-lined, bright San Rafael home, in the West-End part of Central San Rafael. While this bungalow offers privacy and quietude, you can enjoy 4th Street restaurants, cafes, shopping, and coffee shops just a 1/2 block stroll away. Perfect for one or two, with a separate bedroom, full kitchen, and a newly renovated bathroom with a walk-in shower. We're business travel friendly and meet all your business travel needs. Wake up and enjoy fresh coffee on your private sunny deck, or come back and relax after a day of work, hiking, bike riding, shopping, or wine-country adventures.
