- "This is a wondrous place, filled with space and possibility. We had a fabulous time, visiting friends nearby and having this sanctuary to return to each day. There is a beautiful hike just from the house, a great place to enjoy the sunset from the jacuzzi, koi in the waterfall pond, plenty of room for private time, and a fabulous kitchen and living space for sharing meals, music (with the electric piano and up-to-date sound system), and entertainment on the huge flat screen tv. The hosts are great; Danielle was helpful at every turn, from starting our long weekend to suggesting places to see and helping us with the various opportunities--from hiking to just hanging out in this peaceful oasis. We will be back! Thanks for a wondrous weekend! "

The two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the second with a queen bed, have ultra-comfy premium mattresses with down comforters and cozy robes. - "When you find a gem, you have rave about it. We didn’t expect to literally be staying in a vineyard, to have a patio that at night provided that amazing sky, being greeted by the morning harbingers each day and that delicious afternoon breeze. This gem is located at the junction of California 128 and Alexander Valley Road, so you’re minutes away from some of the area’s most enjoyable wineries, and a short ten minutes away from Healdsburg. If you’re venturing further there is of course CA 128 for a short drive to Calistoga or St. Helena or the 101 nearby. You just can’t do better if this is the area for you. The guest suite: words like immaculate, flawless, and pristine fail to do it justice. The host’s attention to detail and comfort were perfect. The necessities were all there. The bed, bedding, and arrangement off the charts (when your 28-year veteran interior designer wife gets excited, then you know you can endorse). And a bathroom filled with fluffy soft luxurious bathroom linens! The area information provided by the knowledgeable hosts, spot on. Easily the best guest suite we’ve stayed at globally. In the hotel category, a five star."

This is an idyllic place. A beautiful 4+ bedroom, 3 bath Wine Country home with sweeping valley views on 6 acres with plenty of room, and away from all. Everything has been updated, including an incredible kitchen makeover. There are views from every room. The expansive outdoor decking and gardens are framed by large windows and sliding glass doors. Private, yet within easy reach of all of Northern Sonoma County’s attractions, the home’s layout is perfect for a large family gathering or for just a few friends.
It is located on a hilltop with 180° views of the Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys. The home, accessible by an easy 10 minute drive from U.S. 101, just off Highway 128, a favorite cycling route, is 5 minutes from downtown Geyserville, 20 minutes from Healdsburg, 20 minutes from Lake Sonoma, and 15 minutes from numerous vineyards in the Alexander and Dry Creek valleys
This Geyserville contemporary ranch home features two master suites, located at opposite ends of the home for privacy, one with a California king bed, the other with a queen. Both bedrooms have modern en suite bathrooms. In addition to the 2 master suites, there is one bedroom with bunk beds and a queen bed, another room with a queen pull out couch, and a den with a twin trundle bed. A third modern bathroom is in the main hall near the den and one bedroom. All told, the house can sleep up to 10 people comfortably.
The living room with vaulted ceilings, expansive glass, comfortable sofas and sitting areas, and wood burning fireplace opens into a large dining/kitchen area. The dining room table, when expanded, can easily seat up to a dozen persons. Both the living room and dining areas have large sliding glass doors connecting to the deck, and providing stunning mountain and valley views. The copper topped kitchen counter provides a welcoming space, be it for breakfast or for cocktails. Meanwhile, the 6 burner Dacor stove, LG French door refrigerator, and soapstone counters will entice even the most hesitant cook into the kitchen to prepare delicious wine country cuisine.
While it is easy to stay in the house, enjoying its comfort, style, and amazing views, the 6+ acre outdoor area is also a jewel. Comfortable lounge chairs, outdoor sofas, and umbrellas bring the living room outdoors. A level lawn provides a green oasis and play space, and then opens to an arc of fruit trees, including multiple varieties of plums, pears, apples, figs, lemons, oranges, and, of course, grapes.

- "Lovely location, great proximity to town and plenty of gorgeous wineries. We enjoyed relaxing on the back patio. Plenty of space for adults with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Would love to stay here again." - "My friends and I stayed at Cathy's property over 4th of July weekend, and it was wonderful. The house is spacious, has comfy furniture, and an INCREDIBLE kitchen (truly shocked by all the cook wares and supplies!!). The views are unbeatable and having all the outdoor space was such a pleasure during a beautiful weekend. We loved lounging on the day beds, grilling out, and eating together at the outdoor and indoor dining tables. Cathy was immediately available when we had a question and worked quickly to resolve our need. The house is right down the road from really great wineries and a 20ish minute drive to Lake Sonoma. It's also super close to downtown Geyserville for any last minute groceries, getting food to go, or needing a place to have a drink. 10/10 would recommend!"

The Bosworth is a charming Victorian home ideally situated in Geyserville at the heart of one of Sonoma County's best wine-tasting regions. Built in 1904 and stylishly restored in 2015, this home is perfect for relaxing wine country get-aways. The new pool and hot tub/spa are perfect for relaxing on hot summer days or after wine tasting!
House history
The Bosworth house was built in 1904 by George Bosworth for his wife and family. The family is one of the early settlers to the Geyserville area, and whose descendants have remained in and around Geyservile. George Bosworth's grandson, Harry Bosworth still runs Bosworth & Son General Merchandise just a few blocks away.
The house is an outstanding example of mixed styles: it is Victorian with wide interior trim. It still has the large sliding pocket doors intact, along with high ceilings, and original fir floors. The outside shows a strong Palladian influence in the low dormer windows cut through the main roof line, small bay and windows, and sheet metal minarets on the roof. It is a classic example of a merchant's home in a rural area, built at a time when folks could use a mail order Pattern book to choose house plans. This home was built from a Pattern Book popular at the time.
Each room has been thoughtfully decorated to bring the home to life and create a comfortable, casual environment for your vacation. Walking through the front door you'll find the cosy wine room to your left and dining area to your right. Both rooms will comfortably seat 8-10 people and are great spaces to gather with family and friends. The kitchen is set up for those who love to cook. With a six burner Wolf range, a Sub Zero refrigerator, and a cozy farm table you'll be inspired to cook with all of the local produce and cheeses Sonoma County has to offer. And finally the TV room comes with a 70" television, two sofas and leather reading chair.
The three upstairs bedrooms, two with ensuite bath, all have King beds, 50" flat screen TVs and down alternative duvets. The light-filled downstairs bedroom at the back of the house has a Queen bed and two full walls of windows that look out on to the charming back yard.
Outside, you'll find beautiful gardens, a small vineyard, fruit trees, and tables and chairs for outdoor dining or relaxing with a glass of wine.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire house and yard. There is also Wi-Fi and a garden.
Interaction with Guests
We are available any time you have questions, and our House Manager lives nearby if there are any problems.
The Neighborhood
Geyserville is a small wine country town with a population of 837 people. Located on the main street of this charming town The Bosworth is just a few blocks from our newest acclaimed restaurants and bars--Diavola, Catelli's, Cyrus, Geyserville Grille, Geyserville Mud coffee shop, and the Gun Club Bar and Lounge. Just a few minutes away, you'll find the Francis Ford Coppola Winery where you can eat at the cafe by the pool, or their restaurant called Rustic.
There are also several shops--Gin Gillies for antiquing and the Bosworth General store for western hats and gifts.
Healdsburg is just a few minutes away, with an amazing variety of restaurants and shops. See the guidebook for more information.
There are outdoor activities--biking is very popular in this area and our kids love to float down the Russian River. There are also hiking and walking trails nearby.
Finally, there are over 400 local wineries waiting for you to visit.
Getting Around
You'll likely want a car to get here and to explore the area. That said, biking is very popular in Sonoma County and you'll often see groups of bikers on the country roads or going from winery to winery.
Other Things to Note

- "Perfect for our family" - "We very much enjoyed our stay at the Barrelhouse - all was perfect." - "We decided not to give presents this year for Christmas and take our family on a trip instead. Barrel House exceeded our expectations. The beauty of the outdoors is filled with a magnitude of flowers and trees and vegetables, pool, hot tub AND goats too. It was better than our trip to Italy! The home was so AWESOME and the pictures posted are good but what you get is SO MUCH MORE😊. If you get the chance to visit Sonoma, Barrel House is the place to stay and convenient to the best wineries AND Healdsburg! Thank you so much Meggin🤗"

- For the wine aficionado there are an unbelievable number of great wineries within 10-12 miles that touch on all aspects: great boutique wineries (Robert Young, Hawkes, Bella, Jordan), fun wineries (Meeker, Francis Ford Coppola, Unti), Zin'o'philes (Rafanelli, Ridge, Pasalaqua, Bella), Cab fans (Silver Oak, Hanna, Lancaster), Pinot (Ferrari Carano, Dutcher Crossing, Michel Schlumber), and Chardonnay (Stonestreet, Ferrari Carano, Quivera).
- For the foodies, there are all types in the spectrum from the casual to the fine dining: Dry Creek Kitchen, John Ash on the formal side, to some of our local favorites including Catelli's and Diavola in town (Geyserville), and Rustic on campus at Francis Ford Coppola.
- For the active / outdoor members of your group, we are adjacent to miles of hiking, biking, and all types of boating at Lake Sonoma.

- "We were a group of 9 who came to Sonoma for wine passport weekend. The location was lovely, views spectacular and frankly, the photos don’t do the place justice. We all enjoy cooking and the kitchen was amazing. We cooked 3 lovely dinners there. There was even a puzzle ongoing! The only negative was circumstantial, in that the transformer at the bottom of the road blew out and we had weird electrical problems. Communication with Lisa was prompt and she dealt with problem quickly. The jacuzzi never did work for us, which was a bummer, but the only one. I’d definitely stay at the perch again and cannot recommend it highly enough."
