A large screen TV accesses lots of channels. The queen bed is comfortable. Good quality linens. We have free access to sauna and hot tub. All units beautifully set in lush gardens. And, the inn is walkable to restaurants, museums, hiking, the ocean, quiet beaches and a grocery store. This is a lovely, quiet retreat. "

This 700 square foot cabin is located on 5 secluded acres and was designed and built entirely by the owners. The cabin includes many special touches such as open beamed ceilings milled with local redwood. The cabin has tons of natural light. A gas stove provides cozy heat and ambiance with the push of a button. There are also electric heaters in the bedroom and bathroom for additional warmth.

Enjoy a hot outdoor shower for two, an indoor claw foot bathtub and a compact yet full kitchen. The bedroom is outfitted with a Queen bed. There is also a twin bed which is perfect for kids. The bedroom is situated on the upper floor with treetop and sky views. The bathroom and main living area is below and opens to redwood deck with outdoor seating. Please note the flight of stairs between the bedroom and bathroom.

We are very kid friendly. Let us know and we will get out our trikes and cars for your child.

Jackson State Forest is our next door neighbor. There is a trail that leads from the property into the forest and we will leave you a map. Located ten minutes north of Mendocino and ten minutes south of Fort Bragg and five minutes from what we think is the best beach in the area.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Spacious great room and south-facing patio in the redwoods. Large well-equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms recently remodeled. Mendocino is just a few minutes down the hill, but this open space is a sanctuary away from it all.

The space
The whole property is a large 70's style family home with an open living area. There is a master bedroom with king sized bed with private bathroom, a bedroom with queen bed, closet and shared bathroom and a bedroom with a day/trundle bed offering 2 twin beds, shared bathroom.
The living room has 3 sofas plus coffee table, television. There is an archway to the kitchen with an island with breakfast bar. The kitchen/dining room is large with ample space for cooking.
NOTE: we have a brand new special British range called an AGA. It is not similar to anything you have cooked on (probably). It is a lovely cast iron stove, but inside it is computerized...and electric. We love it because it cooks things beautifully, but you need to get to know it first. We have made an introductory video to get you started! You press ON and select the burners/ovens and it heats up in about 10 minutes. You can leave it on the whole length of your stay - in England that is usually how it is used - as a space heater and a cooker. Or if it is too hot, you can turn it off. The temperature is set automatically to a pre-set, and you just move your pans around to the burner/oven that has the right temp for you.
There is also central heating - a thermostat in the dining nook for the lower rooms and a thermostat in the hallway near master bedroom for upper rooms. There is underfloor heating in the master bathroom - the controls are on wall as you enter the bathroom.
There is a laundry area with washer and dryer.
The fireplace will be available as soon as we can install the requisite safety devices required by our insurance. Until that happens, we are not able to let guests use the fireplace.
There is a cabin on the property which is also available on AirBnB, if you happen to need an extra 2 bedrooms. The entrance is shared with that cabin.

This cabin is located on one of Mendocino's most beautiful properties, ten minutes to the coastal town of Mendocino and on 12 acres of giant redwoods and open meadows. *Review note: We make sure to give FULL privacy if we are in the main house. Because it is 12 acres you will likely not even see us. We had an engagement party with 8 guests once and a 4 yo child of a guest found the magical cabin in the woods unlocked by guest and went in! We will NEVER have a little party again when guests stay

This beautiful Mendo Hideaway awaits, nestled amongst giant redwoods. With a newly renovated wooden cabin for your forest slumbers.
Just outside relax in some Adirondack chairs while you enjoy an evening fire (when the season permits).
Just 50 ft away is the outdoor shower and bath with hot and cold water. A limited kitchen space with a sink and a small bbq grill, and hot plate and griddle.

You’re conveniently located within walking distance of the town of Mendocino and Big River Beach

Peaceful, cozy, bright Caspar studio…with distant ocean views and walking distance to Jughandle beach and trails, as well as the Caspar pub and community center. Bike to world class mountain biking trails. Enjoy the easy quick 5-8 minute drive to Fort Bragg or Mendo. There’s a shared house on the property that can also be booked. Other features: wifi, small kitchenette with apartment size fridge, electric burner, essentials, outside seating area, private yard, parking on property. Sorry no pets.

This one room, cozy cabin has a queen bed, love seat and small dining room table. 2 steps down from this room into a small kitchenette with an apartment size fridge, 2 burner electric stove, microwave and toaster over. There are dishes, utensils and cups. Bathroom with tub and shower. There’s an outside seating area and table for when the weather is nice.

Heat is electric atm. Please keep under max so it doesn’t trip the breaker. If it does, it’s an easy fix, panel is in the closet near the floor in the right side. Just open box and turn the switch off then back on, making sure to push it back into place so it clicks. And please turn heat off anytime you leave.

Tucked between the Pigmy Forest and redwoods, this charming one-bedroom 400 sq. ft. cabin is in the sunbelt close to Mendocino Village. It’s located on a 20-acre property, with a full kitchen, bedroom, shower & bathroom. Sorry no pets

Down the road, you can hike or bike alongside Big River, where sea lions, birds & other wildlife are plentiful.

Wake up to a morning Nespresso with frothed creamer, while listening to the sounds of nature.

The space
After self-checkin, please feel free to roam around the property. There are pathways leading through the gardens (designed by Gary Ratway, who also designed the Botanical Gardens in Fort Bragg), and a pond with chairs to relax, listen to nature, or stargaze.

The queen mattress is a Craftmatic. There are instructions if you want to raise the head or foot side of the bed. In the armoire, we provide a pack and play for your little one.

The tap water is all purified well water and is excellent for drinking.

Wi-Fi is spotty and cell service is spotty unless you have Verizon.

There's a "cabin parking" sign just off the circle drive to the right of your cabin (with the orange lounge chair on the porch). Our other airbnb rental, the “tiny house in the trees,” is separated from the ‘quaint cabin,’ but the fire pit and hammock can be enjoyed by all guests.

Welcome to Mendocino! Enjoy a quiet stay on this expansive property with views of the ocean and a private trail that leads directly to the cliffs of Mendocino. Surrounded by public land, this redwood cabin sits on a slice of paradise, located alongside undeveloped grasslands that lead to the ocean.

The space
The cabin, one of several on the property, dates back to the 1930s. Furnished with antiques and original artwork, the cabin features a comfortable queen bed, a fully equipped small kitchen, a dining area, a small desk for remote work, and an original redwood bathroom with a clawfoot bathtub. Painted in dark hues, the space offers a retreat from the city to read, write, and disconnect in the quiet of nature.

You will be a:

- 2 minute drive (or a beautiful, 20 minute walk) from Point Cabrillo Lighthouse
- 5 minute drive to Caspar Headlands State Beach
- 5 minute drive to Russian Gulch State Park (ask us about the waterfall hike and beach access)

Relax and renew in this unique and tranquil getaway. This cozy cabin is family friendly, on a 23 acre private forest estate, and 7 minutes from Mendocino village and the coast.
The cabin has 2 bedrooms, and sleeps up to 4 people. It has redwood beams, vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, and a private deck. The cabin and home where the host lives is on a private road, with pond, fruit orchard, and 1/4 mile walking trail to the seasonal 100 foot waterfall lookout.

The space
There are two bedrooms with queen size beds and upstairs is a loft with a twin size futon . The surroundings are extremely quiet, since cabin is situated on 23 acres of mostly redwoods and the area borders Jackson State forest and the other properties along the private road leading to the cabin are a minimum of 20 acres in wooded surroundings. The property is just a mile from the coast and the village of Mendocino, even though it feels very remote and retreat like.

The parts of the property to access is the pond with picnic table and fire pit near by. The trail is a casual 1/4 mile long walk and winds through the redwood forest which leads to the waterfall overlook hike.

Other things to note
The wifi is spotty at times due to the cabin's location. The water is from a well and is purified but at times is reddish due to the minerals. Drinking water is provided.

Our "Quaint Cabin/Tiny House" combo is in the sunbelt just 3 miles from Mendocino Village. Located between the Redwoods and Pigmy Forest, this private compound features two guest quarters, with a shared picnic area, and campfire for gathering and grilling. Sorry no pets including service pets allowed.

Comfortably sleeps up to six total (3 & 3).

Biking and hiking nearby where sea lions, birds & other wildlife are plentiful. Star-gaze and toast marshmallows by the fire pit in the garden.

The space
We know the area well, so feel free to ask us for tips on anything that comes to mind, whether it's an activity you're interested in, where to eat or upcoming local events. Or just take it easy in the quiet comfort of our secluded property.
