They indicated that this was their residence. Having been told to pick up the keys and it being 10 at night I entered the front steps at which point the gentleman pointed out the private property sign and indicated that that was his home. We attempted repeatedly over the next two days to contact the property be contacted Expedia and immediately however we have been unable to resolve the issues. Needless to say we did not check in."

"Nothing comes closer to perfect than Jen's place."

Forest Suite is located just a few minutes south from the village of Mendocino on 5 acres of beautiful redwoods. This 550 sq. ft. apartment plus 200sq ft deck, is upstairs from my 2,000 sq. ft artist’s studio, which is not in use when guests are staying. Built entirely with redwood, recycled fir and barn wood with cement counters and shower this romantic getaway is a very special spot.

The south wall is all windows facing the deck with deck chairs and a table with two chairs for dining overlooking the surrounding towering redwiids. It’s very peaceful and sunny and is frequented by honeymooners, artists, writers and those seeking total privacy. A few books and screenplays have been written here!

There is an eclectic book and DVD library to enjoy, internet, Direct TV and some boardgames. For your comfort there is a cozy gas fireplace, a ceiling fan, a standing fan and removable window screens in the hall closet. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are also yoga mats and weights for your use.

Take a walk through the forest; you will see a TRAIL sign by the driveway which will take you through the property and out onto Gordon Lane for a longer walk. There is a bench along the trail and also a deck in the trees for yoga or meditation, or just relax at the Suite and enjoy the tranquility.

This 700 square foot cabin is located on 5 secluded acres and was designed and built entirely by the owners. The cabin includes many special touches such as open beamed ceilings milled with local redwood. The cabin has tons of natural light. A gas stove provides cozy heat and ambiance with the push of a button. There are also electric heaters in the bedroom and bathroom for additional warmth.

Enjoy a hot outdoor shower for two, an indoor claw foot bathtub and a compact yet full kitchen. The bedroom is outfitted with a Queen bed. There is also a twin bed which is perfect for kids. The bedroom is situated on the upper floor with treetop and sky views. The bathroom and main living area is below and opens to redwood deck with outdoor seating. Please note the flight of stairs between the bedroom and bathroom.

Jackson State Forest is our next door neighbor. There is a trail that leads from the property into the forest and we will leave you a map. Located ten minutes north of Mendocino and ten minutes south of Fort Bragg and five minutes from what we think is the best beach in the area.

- "Beautiful home with open floor plan that was perfect for almost 3 toddler. House had quality decor and furniture similar to a luxury hotel. With to die for beds and bedding. Backyard backed up to trails but still enclosed so little one could play safely. Found the kitchen comfortable with nice pots and pans. The half bath is located next to laundry room on opposite side of house from the 2 bedrooms. Complimentary soaps etc. Walkable neighborhood with ocean views. Would stay again."

- "Cute, rustic property with unique but tasteful layout and decor. It is a beautiful and relaxing place. We will return." - "Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Headlands View Home. This home is not on the water, but it was perfect for us because we have a toddler. We wanted room for her to run safely and not have to worry about the oceanside cliffs. You have an unobstructed view to the North of the ocean, prairies of the Mendocino Headlands SP, and Point Cabrillo lighthouse in the distance. At this location you're walking distance (even with a toddler) to downtown, Point Mendocino trail, and Portuguese Beach. The home was everything we needed it to be and everything worked as it should. It's a cozy place that we were happy to come back to at the end of a long day exploring. This is a historic home (built in 1881 according to the plaque), so it has some historic home traits. Like most homes of it's age, it has had additions that don't necessarily "flow". There are essentially 2 halves of this house. The South side of the house is the original house and has a large living area with a wood fireplace, fully-stocked kitchen, a private bedroom, and a finished attic with a queen bed on one side and 2 twin beads on the other. From the kitchen, you take 2 steps down and the first bathroom is on your left, and the laundry room is directly in front of you. The laundry room is a pass-through to the North half of the house. This side has a full bathroom, a dorm kitchen (sink & mini fridge), a living room with a gas fireplace, and a loft with a large bed. Beyond our initial walkthrough, we kept the door to this half of the house shut because we didn't want to worry about our toddler going up and down the stairs to the loft. The view from the living area was spectacular though. Finally, the house has a large yard with plenty of area for kids to play and explore. There is a scrub pine in the front yard that our toddler loved climbing on. Overall, we were very happy with our stay!"

Lisa, the host, is helpful, easy to talk to, knows everything about town, and friendly while also letting you have your own space. Perfect. - "The house and cottage fit all 12 of us plus a new grandson. Kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub and sauna were welcome. The weather was incredible, and we saw a pod of dolphins dancing in the waves. The wood stove kept us comfy," - "This home is so close to many trails. Loved the brand new cushy wool carpet on the interior stairs and second floor. We chose the large upstairs master suite that had a bathtub and shower stall, as well as two walk-in closets. The well stocked new kitchen was fabulous to cook in. We were impressed by how nicely utensils, pans and dishes, etc., were organized in the drawers and cupboards. It was clear much attention was given to detail. Lisa, the house owner and well deserving of her ‘premier host’ designation, was a delight to interact with. She was quick to answer questions and address any needs we had. We were very impressed! Cute tiny cabin in the woods. Located adjacent to the owners residence, but well screened for privacy. The 140 square foot tiny cabin offers a full sized bed, half bath and outdoor shower. The property is conveniently located between Mendocino and Fort Bragg about two miles from the ocean and directly adjacent to Jackson State Forest. A perfect place to unwind and explore the coast and forest.

Tiny cabin comes equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, and a coffee maker. There is a private outdoor shower. The cabin is well screened from the owners residence, but the path to the cabin does pass in front of the house.

Home is located right around the corner from Russian Gulch State Park with only a 5 min walk to the parks entrance and its hiking trails. Location is 1 mile from Point Cabrillo Lighthouse and 2 miles to the Mendocino Village and Caspar Beach. Within driving distance to many other coastal attractions, including wine tasting, hiking, surfing, kayaking, beaches, river, fishing, redwoods, Fort Bragg and many other activities. Access to many premier mountain biking trails is right across the highway.

The space
Guests have access to the private studio which includes a kitchenette that has an electric range and microwave. Studio has a refrigerator and ample closet space as well as a large attached bathroom with double sink and shower. There is also a TV with DirecTV and other streaming services. Guests can also enjoy the one acre property outside with access to the entire yard and both decks. Relax at this wonderful spot where you can usually hear the waves crashing, wildlife roaming the neighborhood, and the seals barking.

Guests have access to everything in the guest studio which includes your private bathroom and kitchenette. Prime location puts you minutes away from Russian gulch and premier beaches like Big River, Caspar, and Jug Handle. Access miles of hiking trails without having to get in your car.

This is a cozy, quiet upstairs room in our historic Inn with a queen-size bed, and a private bathroom with a shower. Rosie's Room has a gas stove fireplace, mini-refrigerator, microwave, organic coffee and tea, electric tea kettle, satellite TV, and free WiFi. Spa towels and robes are provided for your use at the spa. Your room comes with some hot tub and sauna time. Muffins in the morning to compliment your coffee or tea.

Our famous and traditional clothing optional Communal hot tub is open and does not require a reservation for guest use during spa hours from 11 am to 9 pm. (10 pm during summer) All Sweetwater Inn guests have free access to our clothing optional co-ed outdoor Redwood Communal Hot Tub and sauna! No appointment is needed for your complimentary soak for an hour and a half per day during your stay.

*Please note the communal hot tub is limited to 8 guests at a time. It is first come, first serve.

The space
The “Dance Studio” was originally an expansive and beautiful studio built for dancers. It was then converted into artist studios and has since been renovated into a 2000 sq ft home with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and hardwood floors throughout.

- Extra comfy double size futon which converts into a bed sleeps 2
-The kitchen is stocked with water filter, cooking supplies, and coffee making supplies

-There is ample parking, space for RV, and turnaround space.
-There is a nice outdoor area where friends and family can gather and eat at the picnic table or play bocce ball.

Other things to note
We ❤️ pets! However, If your traveling with a pet, please be sure first look at and agree with the pet policy, and then be sure to include the pet on your reservation under number of pets. Please note we accept up to 2 dogs. Other pets or additional numbers allowed with prior approval. Just shoot a message! There is a friendly cat who visits the yard of the dance studio often.

Other note- The kitchen and bathrooms are on one side of the house and the bedroom is on the other. Elderly folks may want to consider sleeping on the futon in the living room to be closer to the bathrooms at night if that is of concern to you.

This beautiful house has a lovely open floor plan with high vaulted ceilings, chef's kitchen, wrap around outdoor deck. Master bedroom is very spacious - has it's own outdoor deck and sitting area in bedroom. Located in a sunny meadow minutes to Mendocino Village. Very quiet and peaceful. Peak a boo ocean views - hear the ocean roar as it hits the cliffs nearby!

The space
The house has vaulted ceilings with real redwood beams both up and downstairs - giving it a spacious airy feeling. The open kitchen has high quality appliances - perfect for the chef! Master bedroom is very generous with office areas, and a sitting area. Very nice guest room/2nd bedroom with tiled full bath. There is a wonderful enclosed sunporch as one enters the house - which warms up the entire house!
The house is only 3 minutes to downtown Mendocino. You can hear the ocean thundering into the nearby headlands from the house - and there's even a small ocean view!

Guest access
The entire main house is usable. Washer and dryer available for the long term renter - located in the garage.

Other things to note
This beautiful house can be rented only by the month. 4 month minimum. This is the perfect summer getaway and retreat in Mendocino. And wonderful for a sabbatical, or if you are building a house or if you'd like to get to know if the Mendocino North Coast life is for you.

This spacious and stylish place to stay is perfect for a couple seeking a romantic getaway near beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and the adorable town of Mendocino. Would also be great for a family with 1-2 kids, as there is a full size pullout sofa in the living room.

The place is the separate upper level of a large two-story home, in a forested setting. The space has an abundance of natural lighting from skylights throughout, and beautiful wooden cathedral ceilings.
