This large 3+ bedroom, 2.5 bath Sonoma County vacation home is located amongst beautiful redwoods, on the bank of Matanzas Creek, on a 26 acre property, all situated in the heart of Bennett Valley, in Sonoma County. Oak trees, redwoods, and 100 year old bay trees as well as Matanzas Creek surround the house. The 3000+ sq.ft. single-story house is exceptionally comfortable and easy to use.
As beautiful as the inside is, the outside is incredible. The majestic redwoods and bay trees decorate the large 2000 sq.ft. patio adjacent to Matanzas Creek, all surrounded by year long green vegetation. In season various flowers adorn the whole environment.
The patios in the front and the deck adjacent to the kitchen are generously furnished, ready for outdoor entertainment and cooking, with two large grills, four heat lamps and two fire pits. Finally, yet importantly are the trails, alongside the creek under the breathtaking trees.
The children will enjoy the toys, bicycles, the basketball hoop, as well as the play structure and swings which make the whole place a heaven for kids. They can also run around the trails, in the vineyard , up and down the trees and just have a great time.
The Vineyard: The 10 acre vineyard consists of twelve blocks of different varietals and clones. Each season brings its own charm and beauty to the vineyard. The buds start coming out in spring and in September when the leaves start changing colors, it is amazing to look at the majestic grape bunches hanging from the vines.

PROPERTY OVERVIEW - Set in the Chalk Hill Appellation of Northern Sonoma County. 59 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. 28 miles East of the scenic Pacific Coast sits this majestic villa on 15 acres of rolling hills with enchanting wildlife and native trees. Conveniently located 6 miles from the Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport.When arriving at Clos du Chene you'll be greeted by a welcoming villa just perfect for your stay in Sonoma County. The circular driveway around a beautiful Oak Tree reflects the name 'Clos du Chene'. The exterior is European in nature as well as some of the beautiful interior furnishings. The dining room table is custom made and can accommodate 10 people comfortably. Once you get yourself acquainted with this 6000 square foot villa. You will appreciate how easily you can enjoy each space. The kitchen is truly the center point of this home, you will find yourself here gathering with your guests much of the time, it is really very special. The materials used are exceptional and will make your cooking experience truly enjoyable. There are two wood fireplaces, one in the family room and one in the cozy courtyard. The other three fireplaces are gas and are enjoyed in the living room, by the pool, and master bedroom. The brand new outdoor kitchen has everything you'll need to enjoy cooking outside in comfort. On the main floor you will also find two half baths for added convenience. The remaining four bedrooms are upstairs. One bedroom has a king bed. The remaining three bedrooms have queen beds. There are two full bathrooms on the second floor.
OUTDOOR AREAS - The pool can be heated to 85 degrees for $175/night. The hot tub is heated on demand free of charge. Propane is provided for the outdoor fire pit. Fire wood is provided for the pizza oven and courtyard fireplace.
PASSENGER VAN - The transit van can accommodate 10 guests. It is available for chauffeured excursions / dinner transportation / airport transfers. Price upon request.
FIRE SEASON - Fall is traditionally fire season in Northern California and the surrounding areas. To help prevent wild fires and the devastation they cause, there is the potential of power outages in the area. Thankfully, since the spring of 2020, Villa Clos du Chene is the proud owner of a gas powered generator that will fully power the property in the case of a potential power outage. This property was not affected by any past forest fires.
PET POLICY - This home is pet friendly with a pet fee of $500/pet. This fee goes towards a departure deep clean which is absolutely necessary to mitigate possible allergic reactions to future guests.
CANCELATION POLICY - Travelers who cancel at least 30 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%. Otherwise, they won't get a refund.

My 16yr old dachshund was able to come last minute when his doggy sitter had to cancel last minute. This just really shows how they are truly about the guest experience. They were kind, helpful, easy to work with and this made our overall experience even better. Having hosts like them made the property even more amazing. Multi gated property where me and my kids felt safe. You definitely feel like you are in a secluded area but still close 10-15 drive down for grocery shopping. The house is amazing! The great kitchen (which our private chef enjoyed as well), the pool and jacuzzi, outdoor bbq with a wood burning pizza oven (a hit with the kids and adults), vineyard, chickens, fire pit, garden and long outdoor dining area overlooking the valley are many of the things to enjoy here. Oh and we miss their coffee bar! Which is a dream for coffee lovers. We will be planning to come back, and hopefully stay longer than 8 days. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you Gaetan and Christina!"

The property was beyond beautiful; the sunsets were unmatched; the owners are delightful; the donkeys were hungry and not afraid to beg :). Sadly, the day after we left, the property was consumed by the Glass fire :(. We had every intention of returning multiple times over, and we are gutted that it's gone. Welcome to Meridian!
Outside: The large, flat grounds for this home have something for everyone. The newly remodeled saltwater pool is gas-heated to be comfortable all year. An attached spa is perfect for those wanting temperatures in the 100's. There is ample space around the pool for lounging or curling up on a couch. The rock river and falls is the perfect meditative backdrop.
Next to the pool is the outdoor dining pavilion. It has a large dining table that seats 12 adults. There is also a wood bar and a grill with two preparation/serving tables.
Next to the dining pavilion and pool is a full-size bocce court. Bocce balls are, of course, provided!
On the other side of the pool and just outside the living room is a pool table, cuddler lounge chair, and additional seating.
Living Room: This room is set up for a variety of uses. The large sectional couch (14 ft x 12 ft) plus two accent chairs can easily seat 12 adults for a movie night. A 80" 4K TV with Apple TV interface is mounted on the wall and set up with several streaming services. The gas fireplace provides warmth and ambiance to the entire room. There is a 6-person counter height table just behind the sectional couch, allowing groups to play games or have snacks while watching TV or socializing with others on the couch. In the rear of the room is a reading nook with a comfy window seat and couch. Double doors open from the living room to the side deck and give access to all the outdoor amenities.
The blue couch in the corner of this room is a Pottery Barn queen-sized sleeper sofa. It will be arranged as a couch for guest arrival, and a full set of linens will be provided if guests wish to use it as a sleeping option.
Dining Room: The dining room is dominated by a giant, solid wood table with a beautiful castle chandelier. The table easily accommodates more than 12 adults with plenty of room for serving dishes. Dinnerware for 12, with wine, champagne, and old fashioned glasses are provided. Several William Sonoma serving dishes are also provided.
Kitchen: The kitchen recently underwent a high-end remodel. It has a large refrigerator, double ovens, 6-burner stovetop, dishwasher, and large center island. The kitchen is outfitted with Cuisinart pots and pans and KitchenAid utensils, large and small Pyrex dish, glass and plastic mixing bowls, and other standard cooking tools.
Primary Bedroom: The primary bedroom has a California King canopy bed, a large walk-in closet, 55" 4k TV, and a desk with office chair. The attached ensuite bathroom has two sinks, a shower, a large soaking tub, and a separate toilet room. Double glass doors open to a private deck with two lounge chairs. This deck is secluded from the rest of the outdoor spaces in the house.
This bedroom also has a daybed with a high-end Beautyrest queen-sized mattress. It can be used as a lounging space or an additional sleeping option. We provide a full set of sheets and coverings for this daybed.
Guest Bedrooms: There are 3 additional guest bedrooms. All bedrooms have desks with office chairs and 50" 4K TVs. One bedroom has a king-sized bed; the other two bedrooms have queen beds. These bedrooms have access to two bathrooms on the hallway. The first bathroom has two sinks, toilet, and a tiled walk-in shower. The second half bathroom has one sink and a toilet.
Internet: The internet is very fast and able to handle many simultaneous video calls or other high-demand connections. It is an Xfinity 1.2 GB internet plan broadcast through professionally-installed Ubiquiti wifi routers through the house. The wifi routers are positioned to cover the bedrooms as well as the living and dining rooms, giving guests several good options for workspaces.
The home has a laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer and a utility sink for your use.
Checkout: We hope you enjoy your last morning at Meridian as much as every other moment. To that end, we do not ask guests to do anything as part of checkout other than lock the front door.

2 bedroom, 2 bath has a hot tub & large deck with mountain view on 9+ acres.This unique spot in the mountains between Napa & Sonoma Valleys is 10 minutes from Calistoga & 13 minutes from highway 12 through Sonoma Valley. You’ll have fantastic views of the mountain forest and constellations in the night sky, while sharing the property with deer & other wildlife. You will immediately notice the quiet nature & the smell of trees. There are many attractions nearby, including Russian River, Safari West, Petrified Forest, various hot springs & wineries galore to explore.
The Villa shares a gated 9.2 acre mountain estate with one other house. It is 1,414 square feet so rooms are large. There are decks on two sides of the house with an outdoor dining area and lounges for star gazing. Get your relaxing hydrotherapy in our brand new luxurious Alaskan Cedar Hot Tub that can fit 6-8 people.
The main room combines a living room, dining room and kitchen in an open bright space. The 75 inch TV is connected to a Roku streaming device and a surround sound system which you can also use to play your music via Bluetooth. This is a large open space with room to dance!
Each bedroom has a bathroom attached and one of these is also accessible via a door to the laundry room off the main room. The couch in the living room pulls out to a queen size bed. One of the bedrooms can be configured as a king bed or 2 single beds.
This is setup to work from home: it has Starlink internet, 2 standing desks, a laser printer, and an espresso machine.
Guest Access:
With the exception of the areas surrounding the other house and accessory structures, guests are free to explore the property (be careful of poison oak).

Let's begin with an outdoor area that presents like a resort, where multiple garden, patio, and seating areas give our guests multiple views and opportunities to either embrace or retreat from too much sun, shelter from raindrops, and warm up near one of two fire tables. An outdoor kitchen offers refrigerator, ice maker and barbecue for a poolside lunch or beer / beverage storage while preparing a fantastic feast at the barbecue. The large solar heated pool and in ground spa are available May through October at no additional cost, and available to be heated outside of those dates for an additional fee. Waterfall and poolside bar add to the outdoor ambiance.
Inside, a dramatic entry, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, great room, formal dining, and an amazing view and outdoor area awaits you. Drive through the coded gate and garden adorned driveway, and park near or to the side of the front door area, where you will notice a large fountain area, yet another spot for some medication or alone time, then enter the double doors through keyless entry and be amazed. A dramatic hallway with art from all over the world, leads to a living area that almost pulls you to the floor to ceiling windows and views beyond. To the right of the entry is a half bath and to the left area a formal dining room awaits 8 guests and perhaps a personal chef serving a meal to remember. Additionally the guest bedrooms and bathrooms are on this side of the home. Continuing ahead to the large open views area, a living room furnished with sofas, oversized chairs, large gas fireplace, and television invite conversation and gathering. Access to the pool and outdoor is available here, at the kitchen, and also the primary bedroom. To the left are a working area with desk and outlets for business or games, and a bar area supplied with a variety of glasses for beer, wine, and cocktails.
The kitchen and breakfast nook complete the great room. This kitchen is truly gourmet and will accommodate any hobby chef or professional. Granite counters throughout, large working island, multiple dishes, cookware, cutlery, baking and serving dishes, and utensils are provided. Whether you are preparing a quick snack or feast, most anything you need will be found here, all the while connecting with your friends and family, and able to keep an eye on activities in the backyard area.
The primary bedroom is a room to enjoy, relax, luxuriate and move slowly. Soft linens, multiple pillows, and thick comforter dress a king size bed. A bevy of windows and access to a private patio are available, and a working area with desk, lamp and outlets for working, writing, or reading is available. A gas fireplace and sofa invite a mellow evening, and the adjoining bathroom offers a large walk in shower, soaking tub and long counters giving plenty of room for make up and bathroom products.
Three guest bedrooms have a king, and two queen beds and enjoy their own full bathroom with towel warming devices and soft, thick towels. We provide extra for ladies' hair! You won't struggle for lack of towels. Wine Country Life Vacations supplies luxury and yet eco friendly soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion for our guests as well, and we offer grocery shopping, stocking should you wish a fully supplied kitchen upon arrival.

- "My wife and I welcomed our first child into the world and rented this property for the baby's first 2 months of life. It was a wonderful house and neighborhood to do this. The house was exactly what we needed for a newborn, and a work from home setup. The Host was incredibly responsive as was their property managers and there was seamless communication between property managers, owner, and us as the guests. The response time was immediate. We had a few nit picky asks to get the house ready for a newborn (air purifiers, etc) and owner picked up at own expense. They wanted to make sure our baby was comfortable. The area is perfect driving distance to all the major wine and culinary experiences in the region as well as walking distance to mostly anything you need for day to day (Safeway, CVS, etc). We want to thank Larry and team for a wonderful experience and for being great hosts. We will remember our time in Santa Rosa very fondly."

About this space
As soon as you enter the grand foyer of this 6400 square foot home, you will be overwhelmed by the soaring ceilings, stone floors and gorgeous detail. The rooms all open to French doors and balconies leading to many areas to enjoy, both inside and outdoors. Lush gardens with stone pathways and walls adorn the grounds. Take a book and sit in the library by the fireplace or wander outside to read by the sound of the fountain.
The space
This home is an architectural masterpiece, complete with carved marble columns and Italian fireplaces. The grand entrance features stone floors and a sweeping staircase, highlighted by a huge metal and crystal chandelier. Main floor includes a large separate dining room, gourmet kitchen with huge granite island, two dishwashers, Viking Professional appliances, a library with Italian carved marble fireplace, powder room, great room, complete with a gorgeous bar, cathedral ceilings and carved marble fireplace. In addition, there is an oversized bedroom and bath on the main level. Each room has sliding glass doors leading to outdoor patios or balconies.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire home- 3 levels with 1200 sq ft of balconies , an outdoor bbq area, beautifully landscaped grounds, including olive trees, fruit trees, roses, camillas, hydrangeas, Japanese maples. Open the doors to hear the water falling from an Italian marble fountain with beautiful fish.
Other things to note
This is a high-end home furnished with some antiques and custom window coverings and drapes. There are 5 wine refrigerators located throughout the home and bbq area. There are stone staircases and balconies. The home is not suitable for young children due to safety issues.
