Welcome to RIVERSCAPE where you can escape life's chaos, and enjoy the tranquility the Russian River has to offer. From the spacious covered deck to the recently remodeled and updated house to the private riverside decks and dock, you'll feel right at home, yet so far away. Begin your vacation with a complimentary bottle of champagne, chilled waiting for your arrival.

Riverscape's covered deck features sweeping views of the river, the redwoods, and the lush backyard. Experience luxury outdoor living complete with a 6 person hot tub; an outdoor kitchen with a bar, sink, large gas BBQ, and prep area; an outdoor living room with couches, a 50' HDTV with Directv and surround sound, dvd player, a pool table/ping pong table, and a washer and dryer. On chilly evenings, you can light up the outdoor heater, and close the canvas curtains to keep snugly while listening to the river slide by.

Sliding glass doors run along the entire back of the deck, so you can see what's going on inside, if you are outside, or visa versa. They also bring in a lot of light to the house, and allows for beautiful views, bringing the outside in.

Just off the deck, the backstairs lead down to a large grassy, fenced backyard with a horseshoe pit, and plenty of room to play amongst beds of beautiful flowers, roses, and banana trees. We have lots of fruit trees, cherry, plum, 2 apples, pears you are welcome to enjoy when in season. There is also an outdoor shower with hot and cold water to rinse off after the river, or just enjoy taking a shower outside under the stars. Situated under the canopy of an apple tree, is the Boat House which is the perfect place to take a nap on the futon, or change clothes after coming up from the river. The Boat house also has lifejackets, paddles for the kayaks, and other toys to play in the River or the yard with.

Just beyond the yard, the path leads to the River View Deck, with comfortable seating to relax, read a book, take a nap, or just hang out and enjoy watching the river go by. Pull up a stool at the Tiki Bar, enjoy your favorite cocktail, and chill. Just beyond that is another BBQ, and the two (seasonal Mid May - Mid October) waterfront decks--one in the sun, one in the shade-- and the (seasonal Mid May - Mid October) private floating dock where you'll enjoy hopping in one of the kayaks and paddling up or down the river, swimming, or just floating around. At certain times of the year, you may see ducks, Blue Heron, river otters, and possible the foxes that like to hang out in our yard.

The 2 bedroom, 1 bath house (+ outdoor shower) has an open concept design, a newly remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and all the utensils you'll need to cook the perfect meal. The dining bar comfortably sits 6 people, there is extra seating around the counter bar in the kitchen, and a dining room table as well. The living room boasts leather reclining couches, a 55' Smart TV with Xfinity, DVD player, and surround sound, as well as a wii with games, and plenty of board games. The house has wifi.

There are two bedrooms, each with a very comfy queen size bed. The bedrooms have air conditioners. There is a queen size futon in the livingroom area for extra sleeping space.

Located just 1 1/2 hours from SF, Guerneville is the perfect getaway. Riverscape is just 1 mile from Main Street which boasts a variety of restaurants, a wine bar, the 5 & 10 store, Safeway, antique shops, Pee Wee Golf, and Johnson's Beach. A 1/2 mile in the other direction is Northwood Golf Course with 9 holes of golf (Golf Magazine named it one of the 5 top Alister McKenzie courses in the world!) nestled in the Redwoods, and a few minutes past that is the town of Monte Rio with another nice family beach, and the Rio Movie Theatre. We are 10 minutes to Armstrong Woods redwood forest, and Korbel Champagne Cellars. The ocean is just 20 minutes away, and we are a close proximity to 100's of Russian River, and Sonoma County wineries.

Riverscape has everything you need, and close to many adventures, so you have options to do as much or as little you want to.

We live in the apartment below the rental, however; guests get the whole upstairs house with all the amenities, the backyard and river access all to themselves. We respect our guest's privacy, want you to have fun, laugh, play games, and have the best time at Riverscape. Most of the time you would never know we are there unless we happen to meet in front taking out the garbage or pulling into our spot, which is separate from the 4 spots reserved for guests. Guests actually like that we are around in case they need more supplies, or have an issue, we can promptly help out. Us being on property has never been an issue with previous guests. Somehow I didn’t realize that though and I’m pointing it out because I don’t see in the listing where it says it either, though again, pictures of the front kinda show it, and people who have mobility impairment - this might not be the best choice of properties. Stairs were open slots and my dog was terrified of them - so she got to learn something new haha! (That doesn’t reflect on property of course, my dog is just a weirdo). The back area down to the river is not really secure. My 56 lb shepherd mix fit through the slats (one was broken off) fortunately she was going in from the river side, not trying to escape. The back fence is deck rail height and a bigger dog or determined escape artist could get out, so don’t leave your pooches unsupervised back there. As I said, my dog is a weirdo & never wants to leave me. It was wonderful to be able to bring my dog, though, & I always feel owners are responsible for their canine friends - just a warning is all. I highly recommend this property to the right party!"

Two more guests can sleep on the futons in the living room. The full bath on this property enjoys lots of light, as well, thanks to its skylight right above the tub/shower. Find an additional half bath just off the living room.

Outdoor Amenities:

Outdoor living among redwoods! The outdoor spaces on this property offer so many possibilities for relaxation. Hang up the hammock and take a siesta on the new redwood deck with superb views of the trees. The classic Adirondack chairs here are a wonderful spot for bird watching, wine or coffee-sipping, or just whiling the day away.

In back of the cabin you’ll find the private enclosed patio. Prepare a meal on the propane grill and dine al fresco at the shaded patio set. Rest easy in the reclining sun loungers. Or sit out under the stars and soak in the Sundance hot tub after a day spent hiking, wine tasting, and enjoying everything the Russian River area has to offer. We’ve even provided two spa-quality cotton robes for you to wrap up in afterwards!

Other things to note:

No parties or large gatherings. Sonoma County has a noise ordinance for quiet hours between 9pm-7am. No outdoor amplified sound is allowed.

We are a baby-friendly home! We offer a Graco Pack 'n Play crib (on request), sheets, baby gates (on request), burp cloths, toys and books. Our place is not suitable for toddlers or preschoolers due to the high elevation of the property, but it's great for older, mellow kids.

You will have the entire place to yourself. No shared spaces.

Unfortunately, this property is not wheelchair accessible. Guests must be able to walk up a steep hill to access the property.

The house is equipped with one exterior security camera for safety reasons only. It is located at the top of the stairs and faces down toward the street. There are no other cameras anywhere on the premises.

A designated parking space is available for your use next to the deck. There is additional street parking available nearby. The property across the street is not mine; parking there means you risk getting towed.

To ensure your comfort, the cabin has been outfitted with a brand new heat pump for climate control.

The cabin is located uphill in a beautiful pocket of forest just five minutes on foot from the riverfront, a restaurant, and local brewery. Downtown Guerneville, a liberal and very LGBTQ+ friendly community with good food, music, and culture, is just a 25-minute walk away through lush forest.

When you’re ready to venture farther out, River Road is close by and allows you access to plenty of charming towns, including Sebastopol, Jenner, Bodega Bay, Healdsburg, Occidental, and Petaluma. This is the perfect starting point for your Sonoma County wine tour.

Bonne Chère is, as its name suggests, the ideal spot to kick back, relax and enjoy the good cheer and splendid food and wine that Sonoma County is known for. After a day of trolling for tasty finds (perhaps a new favorite bottle from a family-owned winery or a creamy goat cheese made near the Sonoma Coast or the freshest picks from one of the various farmer's markets), imagine relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine in Bonne Chère's comfortable living room, cooking a feast in the gourmet kitchen, lounging on the spacious deck or taking a soak in the private hot tub.

Inside Bonne Chère, guests will find the home both delightful and modern. The kitchen is stocked for even the pickiest cook, and includes stainless steel appliances, gas stove, dishwasher, beautiful wood cabinets and tile, and a wine fridge. The living room has a large television, stereo (there is a CD collection available for guests), gas fireplace and ample seating. In both bedrooms, the beds are exceedingly comfortable and made with high-quality linens. The bathroom has modern tile work and a walk-in shower with a window so guests can admire the redwoods and lush hillside while showering (a window curtain can be closed if desired).

Outside Bonne Chère is an extension of the living space. There is outdoor dining, outdoor seating, a gas grill and a private hot tub area. The property continues to wrap around the house to a 'secret' sitting spot, perfect for enjoying a locally roasted cup of Joe or stargazing with a glass of wine. Tucked against a hillside in a Guerneville neighborhood, Bonne Chère feels like its own little private world. Although there are neighbors to both the left and the right, the landscaping around the house and the hillside behind the home provides redwood views and privacy. The upper yard is mostly fenced, but not dog-proof!

Bonne Chère is located in a Guerneville neighborhood a walkable distance from downtown Guerneville. Shops, restaurants, supermarket, river access and services are all within a mile of the property. The Sonoma Coast is 13 miles. Armstrong Redwoods is a 5-minute drive. Wineries in the Russian River Valley and beyond

Quiet, calm neighborhood with old redwoods - a great retreat away from busy Guerneville, but it has a super easy access to the River. Road to Big Star Farm: The house is located up a narrow one-lane road. It is a two-way, one-lane curvy hillside road - paved until the long, private driveway. The driveway is highly compacted and carefully maintained. Special vehicles are not required. We provide detailed written driving directions to confirmed guests.

Stairs: There are 8 stairs from the main parking area to the front door and several steps from the back deck to the ground level/parking area. There are 20 stairs to the lower garden area and multiple natural and groomed paths around the property.

Pet Friendly: Big Star Farm is very dog-friendly with 2.5 acres of fenced forest and protective sofa covers available. Up to 2 large dogs allowed per reservation. Additional pets may be considered on a case by case basis.

Fencing: The 2.5 acres of forest closest to the home is fully fenced and gated.

This cottage is centrally located in downtown Guerneville walking distance to R3 Hotel, Rainbow Cattle, Johnson's Beach etc. The cottage is decorated in the Caribbean style unlike anything else available to rent on the river. 2 bedrooms, office, highspeed WiFi for remote work and streaming. This is one of the original homes built in downtown Guerneville in 1910, with lots of the original fixtures from the era. The home is all one level, with only 2 steps to the entrance so is easily accessible for the not so "sure footed". The home has central heat and air, ceiling fan in the main living area, and additional A/C in the dining area.
Step inside to find 1300 square feet of living space, accented by Banana leaf wallpaper in the dining area, comfortable seating in the main living space with reading nook, all of which easily convert to sleeping space.
The bedrooms are well appointed and decorated in festive Caribbean style decor. There is plenty of clothing storage space and seating available for all of your luggage.
There is a separate office and sleeping space off of the main bedroom. An extra monitor and height adjustable desk for those of you that want to work remotely. The WiFi is the highest speed available from Xfinity, so streaming and WiFi calling (necessary in this area with low to no reception for most phone carriers).
The bathroom has a tiled high ceiling open shower and the toilet is Victorian style (head on top). The water pressure is updated with new plumbing and high-water pressure for those of you that like hot showers.
The expansive kitchen just off the dining area has state of the art appliances, gas burning stove, and dishwasher. There is a separate 5 person bar table in the kitchen. The cabinets are stocked with enough dining and glassware to set a table of 6 for those of you who want to entertain. There is a kitchen aid mixer, commercial blender, microwave and air fryer combo, and even a Le Creuset for those of you that enjoy French cooking.
Just outside, you'll find a Weber BBQ, comfortable patio furniture that seats 4, and a propane fueled firepit that seats 4. The mature landscaped yard also features a brand new 2021 Marquis Elite Hot Tub that comfortable seats 5. The hot tub is covered by a canopy for maximum privacy.

Come and relax on the Lower Russian River! We are nestled in a beautiful, quiet canyon only five minutes from the Russian River and town of Guerneville, two minutes from the old growth redwoods of Armstrong Woods, and thirty minutes from the coast. Whether you are here to enjoy hiking, biking, river sports, wine tasting, the beach, or the food and fun in Guerneville, Sweetwater Cottage is the ideal vacation home base.

The space
Sweetwater Cottage is detached from the main house, with a beautiful view of the woods around us. It includes a microwave and mini fridge/freezer for storing and heating your leftovers from the wonderful brewpubs in the area, as well as a complete setup for coffee and tea in the morning. There is a half bathroom with a sink and toilet in the cottage itself and a rustic though fully functional and private outdoor shower behind the cottage. Our beautiful location does come at a small cost: our cell-based internet is not very fast -- one could say "on river time"! -- and some phone carriers get spotty reception. It can be especially sluggish on summer weekends when everyone is in town and the networks get bogged down. But hopefully you are here to disconnect anyway :)

Sweetwater Cottage is especially enjoyable for guests who love the country life. As we settle in and develop our little homestead, we now have a small flock of chickens, ducks, and a big white goose named Hildegard, who spend much time free ranging. They're all friendly -- and we do our best to keep them from messing up your porch!

We also have two dogs. The big one, Holly, would LOVE to meet you, but if you are scared of dogs or would like to limit your interaction with her, just let us know. Our small dog, Sigrid, does not like strangers and we would be thrilled if you would refrain from trying to interact with her. Dogs deserve the right of consent too!

We're proud to say this is an entirely self-directed enterprise on our part, and it makes a huge difference in allowing us to afford a house in our crazy expensive home region - so thank you! Since I (Brendan) do all the cleaning between my other work, I reserve a relatively long cleaning window (between 11-5), as sometimes my other work means I can't get home to turn the cottage over in the mid-afternoon. If you have your heart set on an early checkin or sleeping in a bit, it never hurts to ask! Sometimes my schedule allows for more flexibility and I love to accommodate guests' wishes whenever possible.

Redwood Studio is within easy walking distance to Guerneville's charming shops and restaurants. You’ll love the the serenity of the trees, sounds of the chickens, and the quiet friendly neighborhood. The space
We found this beautiful place in 1985 and have lived here ever since. Located just a few blocks from Main Street but on a hill above town, the property has ancient redwoods and the Redwood Studio apartment is a the base of our biggest and oldest tree, probably more than 500 years old. Although easy walking down to town it feels like a world away. Our large rambling house was built around 1890. The 300 sq ft Redwood Studio was a separate apartment that we have recently renovated. We have really enjoyed sharing our space with visitors to the area.

Our Russian River Getaway is perfect for solo travelers or couples looking for a peaceful getaway. It is nestled in the trees, quiet and private, and conveniently located three blocks to the beach and two miles to downtown Guerneville. This bright and cozy studio cabin has a queen size bed, bathroom and kitchenette. It is located only 4 miles from Armstrong Redwoods, 15 miles to the gorgeous Sonoma coast and close to many wineries.

The space
The cabin is located on a lovely wooded property uphill, away from the road and nestled in the trees with a large redwood in front. The studio was recently remodeled and includes a kitchenette with stovetop, mini-fridge, sink, and microwave/ convection oven. There is also a kitchen nook. It is clean, bright and cozy. There is a small full bathroom. Fast internet and AppleTV are provided.

The cabin is adjacent to owner's house, but feels secluded and quiet, we do not share entries or common space. We live out of town, but we love Guerneville and our space, and come on some weekends and vacations when we are able. Otherwise, you will have the property to yourselves.

Our adorable 1930s cottage on the Russian River offers peace and serenity after a long day with its back deck overlooking the bamboo forest and peek-a-boo views of the Russian River. Completely renovated in 2020, it has a vaulted ceiling living room/kitchen, bathroom with walk-in shower, and cosy double bedroom. This is wonderful temporary home for a visiting professional and within a thirty minute drive to numerous local medical facilities. 30-90 day rental only! Small dog possible. No cats.
